The rain slams into the muddy forest floor. Thunder crashes all around Laichi and Zii. A tree is struck by lightning and a taillow flock spread from the tree instinctively. Laichi runs, splashes, and slides across the ground following the large white wet fur of Zii in front of her. As a pokemon Zii has an instinct that a human does not possess; that is knowing where not to stand to protect yourself from being electrified.
The day before this day was clear skies and sunny. Both of them take it upon themselves to slow down, as Laichi mopes around about being the villain in her story which is being written in her own mind. They did not know they were going to be waken up by thunder, lightning, and sharp rain.
A tree near Zii is hit by lightning and falls before Laichi can make it to him. Zii is frightened and speeds up. Laichi attempts to follow but is stopped by a towering flame from the tree leaves. Laichi yells and yells only to lose Zii in the rain.
She runs around the tree and continues running. The rain is so thick she doesn't see the other trainer running at her. In a blink of the eye, and a sudden flash of lightning the trainer slams right into Laichi. Both lose their balance and fall over a small hill into the stream, which is now the size of a river. Laichi begins swimming against the current, making her way to the shore; Only to pass up the unconscious trainer on the water.
Laichi growls as she knows what she must do. She swims downstream after the soon to be dead trainer. In a moment she drags the trainer to the shore and stands up to observe her location.
She looks left and right, she holds her mouth open in disbelief, because of the rain, and sudden flashes which distort the environment. She has come to a conclusion which she has never wished to come to.
"I'm mucking lost! Son of a Bidoof! ZII!!!"

“It’s all right,” Mitsu said, a light smile playing on her lips as he kissed her forehead. She looked up into the sky pondering on everything Kilik had just mentioned. The purple haired girl couldn’t deny that she hadn’t thought the same. There had been a period of time when she constantly, and angrily, questioned the world. Why had she been chosen to suffer from such an unfortunate situation as a child, why had she been mixed up with her band of friends, each seeming to have their own problems? They were like a huge dysfunctional family. And then there was that word again, “normal.”
“. . .Guess there isn’t such a thing as ‘normal’ for us,” Mitsu said lightly, as if she were testing the waters, “Or maybe this is what is normal, for us I mean, all this insanity. Though why the world has chosen children to be heroes I have no explanation.” She tried for a small chuckle here. Her laughter came out broken.
After a short but not awkward silence, Mitsu enjoyed the fact that the two could share a moment of peace with one another, she said, “What do you think is going on in there? Do you think he’s all right?”

Falkner glanced over at his Spearow as it sped away from the annoyingly loud Hoothoot, its poor eardrums having suffered a second noisy assault. It was happy to have at least grazed the Owl Pokemon, but for now it decided to retreat, tossing a questioning look in his trainer's direction. Falkner smiled, and gave a nod, fully understanding what the Tiny Bird Pokemon meant by that look. "All right, Roost up," he said, once again brushing his hair from his eyes.
Spearow chirped a few times, though it could barely be heard over Athena's noisy Uproar, and it landed on the ground, making sure to position itself as far away as it could from the Hoothoot. The moment its claws touched down on the ground, it raised up its wings, causing a veil of ethereal-looking feathers to rain down around it and thus restoring a rather large chunk of its health.

Paras gave a frightened little cry and scuttled back as far as he could, stopping only when his path was blocked by Jasper's shoe. Jasper tried to nudge him forward with his foot. Paras dug in his little feet and refused to move, but since he was so small, he didn't offer much resistance and was pushed toward the opposing Caterpie by his trainer. The Worm Pokemon twitched her antennae and looked back at her own trainer, who seemed to be a little surprised by the Mushroom Pokemon's reluctance to battle. "Your Paras is a bit on the timid side, isn't he?" he called over to Jasper.
"Yeah, just a little," Jasper sighed, sticking his hands in his pockets. He hadn't expected his first Pokemon to be so… meek. "Come on, Paras, there's nothing to be afraid of. You can do it!" Paras shook his head, and Jasper nudged him again. "Use your Poison Powder. That'll help." Paras blinked a few times, thinking it over. He nodded finally, the two mushrooms o his back quivering before they released a could of toxic, violet spores. The Caterpie gave a cry and tried to scramble back out of range, but the spores quickly settled onto her body, and almost instantly she felt a sickly chill creep through her as the poison started draining her health.
"Hey, not bad!" James said, grinning despite the fact that his Caterpie was now poisoned. "Try a String Shot!" The poisoned Caterpie shivered and nodded before sending out a length of sticky string that quickly coiled around Paras' body, rendering him unable to move.

Flannery flinched a little at the sight of the puff of smoke that Mike exhaled, wishing very much that she could truly understand what he was going through. "Water... hurts you...?" she repeated softly, quickly coming to the same conclusion that he had. If water caused him harm, then that meant that he'd no longer be able to bathe or shower. It also meant that he'd never be able to join her in the hot springs their home town had become famous for. A small whimper escaped her throat, and she looked down at the ground. The corners of her eyes burned with tears, but by sheer force of will she pushed them back, not sure if Mike wanted, or would even accept, any pity.
The Lavaridge Gym Leader looked back up at the brown-haired boy, her ruby-coloured eyes stopping for a second to study the wound on his forehead, mostly due to the wisps of smoke drifting out of it. She gulped as he began to speak, and she listened carefully, mentally repeating every word to herself. He wanted to fix things? Make things right? She wasn't even sure that was possible. As much as her heart ached for him, she couldn't help but recall all of the revelations that had been made back at Slateport. He kept saying that everything he had done had been for her, but she was having difficulty accepting that at face value. Numerous times his actions had put her and her friends and family in danger, and she wasn't sure if good intentions truly made up for it. Grandfather Moore always says 'the path to hell is paved with good intentions'. She sighed, and shook her head slightly, looking back up into Mike's green eyes. Though he tried to hide it, she could see the desperation and fear in them, and she offered a weak smile. "You say you want to make things right, and I believe you," she said, the calm tone of her voice surprising even her. "Why are Keegan, Kasiya, and the others all here? What are you planning to do?" She sounded genuinely interested, though she couldn't help but fear the answer he would give.
=-=-=-=-= "All right, good shot, Bibarel!" Jake cheered, pumping a fist in the air, though he was surprised to see that the Shieldon was still standing after taking such a direct hit. "That little guy is awesome," he called over to Roark, even as it started charging toward Bibarel, fully intent on causing her serious injury.
Bibarel crouched onto all fours as she saw Shieldon start to charge at her, and she gave a toothy grin. She'd always been pretty good at pissing off other Pokemon, and this particular Shieldon was no exception. She too darted forward, keeping her flat tail low to the ground as she moved. Her beady eyes were fixed right on Shieldon, and she waited until the last possible moment before she rolled to the left. She grunted in pain as her timing had been off by just a big and Shieldon's hard faceplate caught her front leg sharply, but she ignored it as best she could and unleashed another jet of water at the Rock/Steel-type's back, hoping to bring it down this time around.
=-=-=-=-= Mai couldn't hold back her surprised expression at the Monferno's completely unorthodox attempt to dodge, and even Siren floated back, amused by the chimp's antics. "Okay, not bad," the Rocket Admin said with a smile. "Your Monferno is energetic, to say the least." Siren nodded in agreement, apparently quite enjoying the battle. "Siren, attack with Astonish!"
The Misdreavus gave an eerie laugh and shot forward, her body phasing in and out as she neared her target. She stopped right beside the confused Monferno and let out a loud shriek, being sure to make her presence known.

Roost? I've never even heard of that before... Jett thought with a mild curiousity, tensing as if he expected the Spearow to attack him instead of Athena. But, as he learned, Roost was not an offensive attack.
Athena's Uproar died down, and she gave her trainer a small nod that notified that she thought she was done with the attack. Jett stared blankly at the rejuvenated Normal/Flying-type and within him, irritation built. He felt the intense urge to just order attack after attack until that bird was done for and he could just move on.
That urge was squashed within another second of consideration, and the boy sighed gently. "Athena?" The Hoothoot looked to Jett, head canting to the left with a quizzical hoot. "Charge at 'em. Use Peck."
With a sudden vigor, the Owl Pokemon launched herself at Spearow. Her large red eyes stared the Tiny Bird Pokemon down, hoping that they would have some sort of psychological magnetism that kept the Flying-type frozen in fear. And when she was close enough, she kicked off the surface, putting all her weight into a lancing Peck attack that would hopefully get the upper hand on her opponent.

Katie smiled and nodded, acknowledging the woman's compliment. "Thank you," she said quietly, but by that point the woman had already set her Misdreavus back on the attack. "Genki, watch out!" she called. Astonish wasn't a very strong attack, but Katie knew that it could force her Monferno to flinch, and miss a chance to strike back. "When she gets close, blast her away with your Flamethrower!"
Again, the confused Monferno could barely make out his trainers words in his mind, but then, very suddenly, a large, blurry, purplish blob was right there in his face, screeching horribly. Genki let out a startled cry and shook his head, suddenly hearing Katie's voice clear as a bell despite the fact that his ears were still ringing from Siren's Astonish. His tail flame blazed brightly as he gathered the flames within him, and while the ghost-type was still close he unleashed a powerful stream of fire, hoping to scorch her good and make her think twice about coming near him again.

She curls up under a thick tree with the strange trainer who remains knocked out. The thunder crashes continue, as well as the daggers of rain. Laichi is getting cold so she snuggles the strange trainer into her arms. Not only will this keep her warm, but it'll keep the trainer alive too.
"Zii, where are you? I'm not complete without you! Come to me Zii!" She screams out in sadness. Ever since she has met Zii, she has never left his side, and he has never left her side.
"I can understand why some kids never leave their villages. Even for a strong person like me I have felt scared... and it's only been the first week of my travels." Laichi says as if talking to nobody.
Laichi looks at the trainer and notices it to be a girl, around the same age as her, or younger. The girl wears all purple and black. Nice color coordination, Laichi thinks. The girl does have two pokeballs with her. Laichi releases the pokemon to see an Abra, and a Ghastly.
"Ghastly!" Ghastly laughs while being released. "..bra." Abra mumbles being released.

Sam was rather enjoying Cherrygrove City, and so turned with mild surprise to face Miharu. Sam noted some repressed emotion in her eyes, and Sam's mouth twitched into a half-frown. Sam didn't want to leave Cherrygrove so soon, but she could tell that something was not sitting well with Miharu. Sam brightened her face with a warm smile before nodding. "Alright, sure. Off to New Bark Town then. I think you are going to have to lead the way though, I have no idea what shortcut you are talking about." As they continued to walk out of the city, Sam surreptitiously glanced backwards at the tiny city. It was beautiful now, and Sam was sure it was even more beautiful when the cherry blossoms were in bloom. She hoped she would be able to visit once more, perhaps on the way back from New Bark Town.
As they exited, they approached quickly a diverging path. One way lead to a long grass-filled path, the other to a rather formidable-looking ledge. Sam figured that was the shortcut Miharu was talking about, and Sam was fairly excited to jump off. She didn't like heights or flying, but she grouped ledges into a different category, like tree-climbing.

Mike smiled as he saw Flannery's composure slowly begin to return. "It's quite simple. Me and the gang are going to go up to Team Magma's base in Mt. Chimney and tear the entire place to the ground. We're going to destroy all of their equipment, beat up all their grunts, and I am personally going to Maxie behind bars where he will stay there and rot for the rest of his life like the miserable piece of garbage that he is." There was no anger in his voice as he described the plot. After all this planning, he must have said it to himself over a hundred times so by now it was just a simple regurgitation. "Surprisingly or not, I'm not quite sure yet, they have all agreed to help me, despite the obvious risks. Even Keegan. I guess even after all this I still have a way with people." He shrugged and chuckled like he had just made a cute little joke that no one else got.
"I know the entire layout of that base by heart, the skills of my friends, and the-hah-caliber of grunts that Maxie employs. So, unless the quota for Team Magma has upgraded from laughably retarded or they've completely restructured their headquarters, this should be all Lava Cookies and cream." Mike's eyes glazed over as he quickly recapped the plan in his head, mulling over how the groups would be split up and where everyone would go.
"But you see?" He said with a bright smile, finally lifting his hand from his forehead wound, which for the time had stopped smoldering. "A perfect solution! In one swoop, I will put the son of a b***h behind bars and prevent him from ever doing anything bad ever again! And e-everyone is with me so it's okay! I know I'm doing the right thing for everyone. For you! You, and the people of Lavaridge-and all of Hoenn for that matter-won't ever have to worry about sharing the world with people like u-them ever again!"

Sasha walked with Kasiya to the PokeMart, making sure her hand was held open. She'd had her share of unintentional burns thanks to her insistence for a Ponyta when she was younger, and her family butler, Bishop was always quick to have proper medicine on hand for when such an occasion inevitably happened. "As such," Sasha continued as if Kasiya was privy to her sudden spat of childhood memories. "I shall look after you. Just a little spray and ee't should be all better!" The chipper girl was practically skipping as she held Kasiya's other hand and lead her to the shop.
In no time at all the two girls entered the PokeMart. "Just wait here. I'll be back dans un instant!" Two hundred and fifty pokedollars later, Sasha bounced over to Kasiya and held open her palm. "Z'his may stee'ng a bee't."

Almost as soon as Ryka handed her Pokeballs to the nurse, the nurse handed them right back, fully healed. A happy little Pikachu jumped into her arms from behind the counter. Ryka gave his head a snuggle before returning him to his Pokeball. Before speaking, she took a deep breath and dusted off her skirt a bit.
"Oh, no ticket? Don't worry...you can just come backstage with me. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with that, right?" She flashed a smile his way. So the two set off for the crowded contest hall, which seemed as if it were filled to the brim with people. Surely the town of Cerulean had never seen this many people before! Ryka and Mag slipped through the crowd up to the front desk, checked in, and swooped backstage all in a few minutes.Once behind the scenes, Ryka's amazement showed on her face. People were running around everywhere, coordinators fixing their makeup or clothes, and all the Pokemon looked stunning! She couldn't help but look down at her somewhat ragged clothing that she had worn, well, everywhere. Turning to Mag, Ryka said a goodbye with a bow, before finding herself a changing room. She'd need to put on some more formal clothes, after all - she just hoped she had some.
About 5 minutes later, Ryka emerged from behind the curtain of her changing room. Her dress was relatively simple - a plain white dress with a purple sash across the waist, that her grandmother had packed into her bag when she left home. As she begun to braid her hair into a large braid, Ryka looked around to see if she recognized anyone. As fate would have it, scross the room stood Riza and Crenu. She gave them a wave and smile, before diverting her attention to the large monitors above. Looks like the contest was about to start!

With a sigh, Scarlet leaned over and picked the flopping fish, tilting it to one side and staring it in the eye. And it simply looked back, still saying the last syllable of its name. Over. And over. And over. And over. And that’s literally all it did. No water gun, not even a tackle.
“… Um. Thanks for trying out, but… You’re not exactly what we’re looking for, soooo…” Scarlet almost clamored to his feet and dropped the Magikarp in the water. He’d heard legends about these things, regarded by some to be the weakest pokemon ever. And in a world with sunkerns and hoppips, that title meant A LOT. There was no way in hell he could take it along.
But as it fell back into the pond, its little black pupil stared into Scarlet’s eyes, and for a moment, the poor Fish Pokemon looked absolutely depressed. He could tell that it had probably been tossed back already. Since it was a Magikarp, it’d probably happened a lot. He felt terrible, but he really couldn’t take this thing with him.
“Alright. Let’s try this again.”

Zii feels lucky as he misses the burning tree. The wind is hitting him so hard he has to lower his head. This does not go well with him due to him unable to hear very well in this weather. Laichi and Zii has never raced during a hurricane so this is great exercise for Laichi and himself.
After a few minutes he rushes through the forest line and out toward the road. He should be able to see the Ningyo residence ahead of him, but the rain and wind seem to have guided him off course. He almost falls into a small lake!
"Zaaaan!" He yells as his footing is lost on the wet ground.
He tumbles over a ledge and into the lake. He finds the edge pretty quickly and shoves his claws into it. He breaths heavily and notices something that causes his heart to stop for a moment.
Where is Laichi, he thinks to himself. He was expecting her to trip over the ledge also.
---------------------------
Laichi looks to Abra and Ghastly. With what just happened Laichi is a bit confused on who these pokemon are. She opens her pokedex to understand a bit about them. The two settle next to their trainer. Abra comforts him and ghastly seems to be whispering things into his ears. Perhaps to give him good dreams, or to wake him up.
Laichi stands up and almost gets blown away by the wind.
"Why me!? Why the muck me!? What did I do? Is this how pokemon trainers are treated!? I did nothing! Stop this wind! Stop this rain! Listen to me!" Laichi screams even though she understands nobody will hear her. She just wanted to let out the steam.

Train nodded slightly, nuzzling her Pikachu and taking a small, cautious step towards Carlos. She raised and eyebrow and a tiny tiny smile slipped onto her face at the man's flashlight, somehow not surprised by it. She ended up rushing over to him faster than she'd intended, throwing glances every which way. She was terrified of what may have become of her Pokémon, and almost couldn't bring herself to follow Carlos into the dark. Follow meaning practically being attached to him she was so close. She wanted to ask, 'What if they're hurt?' or 'What if we can't find them?' but she just didn't seem able to open her mouth now that they were back in the alley, and instead simply tried to gulp down the scream that was forming in her throat.+=+=+=+ Muuma was also unable to dodge her opponent's attack, and one of the rock came crashing down directly on top of her, sending her crashing into the gym's floor. She returned to the air defiantly, however, still very much able to fight.
"Hit it with a Psybeam," Leon commanded her, and this was probably one of the longest sentences he'd said when using a command! Muuma's eyes began to glow, and she sent the ray blasting towards Roxanne's Nosepass.

Zii sways in the rough waters, growling because the tide of a small pond is sucking him in. He crawls out of the water. Zii yells for Laichi, but to no avail he does not hear her. The wind is too strong, and the thunder is too loud. He calls out again and then hears a voice behind him.
"you are lost my brother?"
Zii spins around to see a legendary pokemon of amazing beauty.
---------------------------------------------------
Laichi looks to the trainer being held by his own pokemon. Soon the man opens his eyes and looks at Laichi as if an angel. He must not know she caused his unconsciousness. She'll leave it that way.
"Are you alright!?"
The an sits up and pets his pokemon on their head. He calls them back into their pokeballs. "Where are we? Why is this storm so strong?"
Laichi does not know, but in the presence of a handsome man, now that she can see him clearly and she's not panicked, she attempts to stay cool; or strong, she doesn't even know.
"We are in the middle of Petalburg Forest. We ran into each other before."
She opens her eyes as she didn't want to tell the truth, it just came out.
"Where were you headed, I have a house near here. But, first I must find my Zii; Zangoose."
