It would work as the Carnivine would fail in getting the pokemon with his attack. She would simply hover there in the air ....as her eyes widen. She had been playing around, but, with that miss she wouldn't dare continue to risk her sleep powder. No, the next time she attacked it would have to be for real as she smiles at the both.
Too bad, they choose this path ....as she smiles at them both.
They asked for her to show off her real power, but for the moment, she would move around in a circle pattern trying to avoid both pokemon's attack.

Elijah was worn out and he could tell his Pokemon were as well, this Carnivine was putting up some extremely tough defences and nothing was getting though. Elijah thought quickly, and decided to risk tossing out a Pokeball. If he couldn't attack the Pokemon maybe he could catch it.

It would work, whether it was luck or a prayer, it would work as the pokeball bounces off the Carnivine's head. She would look really surprise, since she was expecting the attack to be something else .....as she looks over at her opponents with nothing but confusion in her eyes.
As the reddish light sucked her up ....the pokeball would land in the dirt. Rocking one way and then the other before it went still. Elijah had managed a once in the life time catch of a complete healthy Carnivine.

"SNAP!" Elijah yelled as he the Pokeball stopped moving on the ground. Elijah had caught yet another Pokemon and this one was a strong battler. "Ok! Scorpio and Venus, you guys can rest now. That was a hard fought battle and I thank you for helping me out," Elijah said as he called back his two Pokemon. Both of them looked relieved as the red light hit them and sucked them up into their Pokeballs. Elijah then called out the Carnivine he had just caught, it floated around him as if it was inspecting it's new trainer.
(I wasn't done battling you know?)
Elijah looked at the Carnivine as she spoke to him, at first he struggled to translate, but he soon was able to understand her. "I'm sorry! But I couldn't have you knocking out my Pokemon, then I would have been doomed out here all alone. So I had to catch you! You are a strong battler and I am glad you joined my team! And if you love to battle so much then you'll have a lot of that with me," Elijah said as the Carnivine stopped and floated in front of him.
(You better keep that promise boy or I'll eat you whole)
Elijah just gave the Carnivine a nod as he called it back to it's ball. "I think I'm going to call you Snap, I think it fits your personality well enough," Elijah said as he rotated her ball in his hand. Elijah then collected himself and started walking deeper into the forest.

They were over halfway through the forest at this point as the pokemon that saw them started to literally scurry away. For though Elijah didn't know it, he had managed to capture one of the four forest lords. Those pokemon that protected and guarded this place, and there was few that lived here who were willing to get in his way as the a small Sunkern would roll away at the sight of him and the Carnivine.
It wouldn't be an easy task for the boy to fulfill his promise here.

Elijah walked straight past the Sunkern, he felt confident traveling now that he had Carnivine on his side. Elijah would sped up his progress as he thought he almost saw the end of the forest now. He couldn't stop himself from smiling as more moonlight filled the forest as it seemed the trees were more scarce as he got closer to the end of the forest.

Elijah continued on his journey through the moon lit forest, not stopping for to look at anything as he neared the end. Again he decided to bring out his his other Pokemon as it seemed there was going to be no danger going through this area. Scorpio came out first and again quickly got on to his trainers shoulder, it liked being higher up so he could see everything. Venus then came out dancing near Elijah's feet as he walked forward. Snap then came out snapping her jaws at Scorpio and Venus before floating on near Elijah's other shoulder as he walked.
(Little babies needed there trainer to catch me! Couldn't even defeat me.)
"Hey Snap! Those are your team mates, knock that crap off," Elijah said as he patted Scorpio on the head and did the same to Venus and then continued to walk.

Elijah would managed to cut though the forest and finally enter into an area that didn't at first glance look much different. Trees, trees, and more trees, but the moment he places one hand against one of the trees he would notice the differences.
Trees as hard ....as rocks, solid and unmoving. This was the place that he had come out upon, the area that he was currently walking .....as it become quite clear that he wasn't in a normal forest at all.
PETRIFIED FOREST
A forest that has trees as hard as steel. The wood has been harden by time, this is a place where ancient pokemon roam ....and where the past and the future meets. It is said that those that journey here can sometimes if they are very lucky be touched by the master of time. Though it might be very time consuming to find the treasure buried only bark deep in the trees.

Elijah walked out of one forest and into another, but this one was much different it seemed. As he walked past his first tree, Venus got closer to his legs, she didn't like this forest at all compared to her old home. Elijah picked her up off the ground and walked on. It was weird trying to get used to the new surroundings but he decided to use the same path as before, straight forward and no looking back. Carnivine looked hungry for battle and didn't show any sign of being scared which was weird for her nature. Scorpio dulled off looking into empty space as he stood on Elijah's shoulder.

The first of many ...a Kabuto's red eyes would glowfrom it's shell as it saw the intruders upon its land. He would scutter over towards them in excitement. He was the first to intercept them ....as he woulds shuffled into their pathway. He believed in the old way ....he would do battle to prevent them from getting much further upon his home turf as the pokemon would bring his claws in front of his body protectively.
He would enjoy breaking them.

Venus walked out from under Elijah's feet and stood right in front of the Kabuto. "Venus I like your style! Let's do this thing," Elijah said, he was sure Venus would be just fine even though she had a small injury. Snap floated in front of Venus and tried to block the Pokemon from the Kabuto.
(You better back up little one! I got this.)
"Carnivine get out of the way! I'm letting Venus get this one," Elijah said as Carnivine gave into her trainer's words and floated back near where he stood. Venus got in a defensive stance and waited to see what the Kabuto would do first.
(If she gets in trouble I'm jumping in.)
Scorpio rolled on to his back, he wasn't very interested in what was going on and decided to take a quick nap.

The pokemon's first move was a very slick one as his eyes would suddenly soften. He would get more of a pleasant aura about him, and the shimmer to his shell would be something almost romantic.
The Kabuto was using Captivate.

Venus would be able to avoid the hearts floating at her by dodging from side to side, she stopped back in front of her opponent as the attack stopped. "Venus! Use Leaf Storm," Elijah called out. Venus raised her head, making multiple leaves gather around her as they start to glow green. The leaves then begin to spiral around Venus in a tornado-like fashion, it was a beautiful sight to see. She then threw her head towards the Kabuto and the leaves fired at it like a cyclone. She wanted to take him out in one shot and she could do it with this.
