Luk chuckled. "You are a good guesser, Lin," he grinned at her. "And yes, we do have water flowing into our homes. Why lug it all the time when you can use its natural flow for so many things? Washing, dishes, cooling homes ... life is so much simpler this way. And trust me on that, I'm old enough to remember how it was before we had it."

"I just realized... after years of waiting to even catch a glimpse of what everyone else sees before me, I've never brought a telescope with me," Lin blinked and wondered why this had not occurred to her before.
She decided to mentally add that to the things she will get once she goes back to Gaia. Lin paused when she realized that Luk also confirmed the fact that they had running water.
"Does this include showers?"
Lin was, quite practical at times, and while she loved a good soak. If there was anything she could appreciate was the effectiveness of a shower.

"Of course," Luk replied with a smug grin. "Sitting in your own dirty water isn't exactly the most efficient way to clean yourself, after all. We can't warm the water the same way we would for a bath, but at least it's running water and you stay clean as you wash yourself."
He had heard a bit about her land on their journey to Amon Darthir, and if not for the fact that he knew she and Earendil were a couple, he would have wondered what on earth would have motivated her to leave the world she had come from.

"I actually hadn't really thought of it that way, it's just I don't fit into a tub made for a human. If it weren't for the fact tubs here are made for people much bigger than myself it would be an issue. When I was younger I was quite fond of baths, but then again I was still training back then and baths do wonders for sore muscles," Lin explained.
It was hard to imagine, because Lin did now love a good shower, but her need to shower came from the fact she had wings. She loved baths as a child though.
"Of course when I was younger baths were almost big enough for me to float or swim in depending on where I was."

"Swim in?" Luk blinked.
Earendil chuckled. "She visited us at the palace quite often," he explained. "Our baths are ... well, she used to call them swimming pools. They are quite large."
Luk pursed his lips and twirled a lock of hair around one finger. "Something that size might be bearable to bathe in," he mused.

"I was little," Lin pouted at Earendil.
Even though she knew it was probably still true now, and probably still for her just as accurate to call them swimming pools.
"You know how little I was back then."

Earendil grinned down at Lin, and with the arm that was around her shoulder, he reached down slightly and poked her in the side.
"You're still quite little," he winked at her, his eyes sparkling brightly. "My little Lin."
Rhea laughed, and one of the babies stirred. She put two fingers to her lips to quiet herself, and in a moment, the baby was fast asleep once more.

Lin jumped slightly at the poke, and in return stuck her tongue out at him.
"I'm just a tad short," she told him.
Actually she was quite short, but it didn't matter.

Earendil chuckled. "Nothing wrong with that."
He squeezed Lin's shoulders again, then smiled at Luk. "At any rate, I'm sure you have many questions for Rhea about your sister. Lin, did you want to talk to Cindy? A real talk?"
They didn't need to stick around for Luk and Rhea, after all.

It had been a long while since she had talked with Cindy. Most family members rarely got to talk to her anymore.
"I'd like that," Lin replied with a nod, "It's been a while."

Earendil nodded and stood up, and held a hand out to Lin. "Come, let's go find her, then," he grinned. "I'm sure she's just as eager to speak with you."

Getting up, Lin took Earendil's hand before looking back at the other two.
"We'll see you later, okay?"

"See you later!" Rhea beamed, waving at the two.
Luk bowed his head. "Thank you again," he said warmly. "I will see you at dinner."
"I hope you enjoy your talk, Luk. Rhea." Earendil bowed slightly, then smiled at Lin once more and headed with her off in search of Cindy.

Once they were out of the room and off again, Lin had to think of where Cindy might be.
"I actually have no clue what she might be doing at the moment," Lin finally admitted, "So I'm not sure how to find Cindy."

"We could always ask someone," Earendil suggested. "Or for that matter, we could go back and ask Rhea."
He supposed they should have thought of that before they'd left the room. They could go back now, really, there was nothing stopping them ...
