((W00T! 3000TH POST!!!))
Ares felt... He didn't know. He didn't care. He just collapsed, sightlessly, onto his bed, the furs comfortingly familiar. The fire started seemingly of its own accord in his hearth. He didn't let himself think, or he would remember... He'd remember a time so long passed that he'd been able to fool himself into believing that it had never happened.
Long ago, Ares, the famed God of War, had fallen in love. She was beautiful... but she was human. That alone meant pain, though he ignored this, not caring. It didn't apply at the moment. However, time passed, and with it, so did she. He was devastated--he had been so dedicated to her, so in love, that her death alone left him reeling.
Some time later... perhaps just decades, perhaps a century (Ares didn't know, for what is mortal time to the immortals?), Ares became involved with Aphrodite. He'd figured that she, as the Goddess of Love, knew its turmoils and bitter endings so intimately that she could never want its beautiful, horrible, entrancing spell to wash over her. That was, after all, how he felt. He'd expected her to agree on that.
It shocked him, scared him to his very core, when he found that she did yearn for the poisonous embrace that was love. What frightened him more than anything else, though, was that he had found the buddings of reciprocation growing somewhere within his darkened and stony heart. Out of fear, he snipped these plants, doused them with weed-killer, and ran from the source. He abandoned Aphrodite, despite the knowledge that time would not affect her.
Many, many years passed. Ares forgot love--how to love and how to be loved. He did so voluntarily, locking the emotion away under lock and key. He doesn't want to remember it, its pain, its weakness, its all-encompassing venom that was almost impossible to stop when it had started.
And then he met Evermore.
And for a third time in his life, everything went to Hell. If only, if only it would stay there.

Ari and Adonis stared at each other for a long time. Well, it felt like forever to Aphrodite. Ari was surprised how much they looked alike. Though his face was handsome, their features mirrored each others with Ari's being more feminine. They had the same dark hair, (so odd on a German girl), and the same slender build. So she really was his kid. "You have some explaining to do," she said softly. She didn't know what to feel. Angry? Hateful? Her mom had always claimed she was better off without her father, so did that make him a bad person? He seemed nice, I mean, for the Gods sake's he had brought coffee to Aphrodite at midnight! What place stayed open till midnight?! She couldn't think of one. Biting her lip, she decided to take a chance and let him tell his story. What was the worst that could happen? She could always hate him afterward.

(Erm, not much. Ever mouthed off to Aphrodite, and got slapped. Lol. Um, Aphrodite took everyone back to Bai Ching (including Sam/Ty), and Ev is currently in her room, as is Akira. Ari is in Aphrodite's office, and found out Adonis is her dad. Ev/Ares have agreed to separate for a while. That's pretty much it. OH, and Nessa had her epic-huge attack and is currently in the Infirmary at Bai Ching in a comatose state. Aurora can sense Nik/Nessa's spirits c: Now THAT'S it!
Did you get my pm, btw?)

((Sure, where should I place Ty and Sam? And I'm unsure what Musica should do, I might just leave him at the party until a day change. I know, they'll probably be in or near the infirmary to check on Nessa. Since their friends and all, and I'm thinking about having Ty crush on Nessie. That is before he turns into Nik's mind slave >.>))

(Sam and Ty could either listen in at the door, or go back to Ness' room. I dunno, wherever you want them! I'm just trying to turn out an Adonis post so we can day-change, lol!)

Tyler and Samantha were standing in the waiting room of the infirmary, silent in their patient wait to see how their friend was. Her attack at the party terrified them, and they were unsure of how her health was affected by it. Their father was no help, on their way out they saw him leaving to a room with some guys for some reason, though they weren't sure why. It really didn't concern them. They worried about Ari, who went to some woman's office when they got here. Everyone else went their own way, so it left them to wait for Nessie. In their eyes could be seen fear, clinging to one another for silent comfort.

Musica watched everyone leave with a hollow expression, but his attention was turned to the boy from earlier who'd rode with him in the truck. His face was red and he was shaking from nerves. A smirk graced his expression. The guy, who's name he'd learned to be Take, could barely speak a word. Musica knew the drill, he was a guy in the closet who came out when he saw Musica. Nothing new. Wrapping an arm around his shoulder he began walking him up the stairs, Take followed calmly as his body shook. They got up the steps to the room Musica had been in, and he closed the door behind himself. Slowly he worked the boy into being calm with him, and even showing his own aggression as they kissed. Yet, in the back of Musica's mind he felt a tiny tick that he couldn't get rid of, as if he shouldn't be here. Take was already holding onto Musica tightly, kissing along his neck as Musica sat stock still.
He knew what he had to do, and Take would just have to get over it. Faster than the blink of an eye Musica teleported away to Bai Ching, where he knew everyone else was at. He felt needed, so he left. Take sat in shock along in the dark, holding onto himself like a small child.
At that very moment as well, a very disgruntled Suki walked into her own home after walking ten miles there from the cafe. Her eyes were flaring as she began to yell. "Musicaaaaa!"

Adonis sighed. He knew this was going to catch up with him one day. He handed Aphrodite her coffee, and she nodded in thanks. Adonis lounged out on the sofa, still looking at his daughter. "It's been a while since I saw you last," she said with a lilting smile, "... you were only a toddler, I think. About three. I was there for your birthday." He saw Ari's eyes widen, and he smiled. "What? I didn't just knock your mom up and run, you know. I genuinely cared about her... and then, I cared even more so for you. Your mother made it perfectly clear she didn't want me in her life, and b default, yours. So, I popped in every now and then. Usually when she had guests, she couldn't turn me away then. On my last visit, I think I even brought you, Aph," he said, smiling. The woman nodded with a smile. "You were a cute baby, Ari. I can't say that your mother approved of my being there!” Adonis nodded. ”Yeah, she put her foot down after that…” he sighed.
”There’s not much to the story, Ari… not much at all. In fact, if I wasn’t an immortal, this could be your traditional Hollywood production,” he chuckled. He took a sip of his drink, and then started. ”Well, I met your mother in a bar after one of my stints in the Underworld with Persephone. Anyway, I came back to the Upperworld in Germany, and decided to take a night to myself before meeting up with Aphrodite in New York the next day. I go into the bar, and there’s your mother, and she had to be the best looking mortal I’ve seen in a LONG time. Not only that, but she had a beautiful personality to match. We hit it off right away. Needless to say, a few drinks and one hotel room later, we considered ourselves to be in love. I had to leave, though, but every six months or so on my way back to the Underworld, I would hook up with your mother for one night… two if I could manage it. Somewhere along there, you were conceived. I was actually pleasantly surprised to hear you were born! Aph and I showed up in the hospital when your mom went into labor. I really was happy, Ari, and Aph was happy for me. Your mom was the only one who wasn’t. See, I sat down with her the next day, and told her what I was. I told her everything. The mysterious six-month disappearances, the infrequent visits… it was tough on the both of us, but more so on her end. She was angry, and even more so when she found out you were blind. She blamed everything on me, and even threw a vase at my head, if I can recall correctly…” he trailed off, looking mildly amused. Aphrodite laughed.
”My visits to you were scattered from then on. I visited you as often as I could, but at your third party, your mom put her foot down. No more visits. To make a point, she moved without leaving a forwarding address. I could have found her if I tried… but I decided she was done with me, as much as it hurt. Never stopped thinking of you, though,” he smiled, whipping out his wallet and rifling through various photos before he selected one of a little dark-haired girl with birthday cake smeared all over her face. Ari smiled.
”You never came looking for me, though, did you?” she said, unable to keep the accusation from her voice. Adonis shook his head. ”Would you have believed me? Probably not, right? Plus, I hadn’t seen you for fourteen years… I wouldn’t have believed it myself. I admit, I gave up. I thought Magda would have filled you with terrible stories of me, so I just didn’t try. I won’t lie…” he said. Ari silently stood, and hugged him. He seemed surprised, but he hugged her back. So she did have a dad… wow. So much had happened in these last few days, both good, bad, and weird. This was one of the nicer things.
”So what does that mean for me? Am I immortal?” she questioned him. He shook his head. ”I was not born immortal, but MADE to be immortal. It’s not in my genes, not like the other Gods and Goddesses. You will probably live longer than most humans, but you won’t live forever, not unless it is granted to you by a God or Goddess.” Ari nodded. She could accept that. There was an awkward pause, and then… ”Off to bed!” Adonis said with a smile. ”I think we’ve all had a big day, and need rest. I’ll see you tomorrow, A, I promise,” he said to Ari. With another hug, and a hesitant kiss to her forehead, Ari left the room.

Ari walked silently down the hallway to the infirmary. She was pale and tired, dark circles under her pretty eyes. It had been a long night, and it was going to get longer. She was on her way to see Nessa... horrible, still, and quiet Nessa. Ari wanted to stop and cry. In fact, a single diamond-like tear rolled down her cheek. She paused for a moment, and looked out a window into the night. The moon was reflected on the surface of the lake. Gods, if only everything in life could be that picturesque all the time...
Shaking herself, she headed the rest of the way to the infirmary. Ty and Sam were there by Nessa's bed, and Ness looked liek she was sleeping. Ari knew better. "She's not here..." she said softly, pushing some strands of hair out of Ness' eyes.

Caroline, once transported back to Bai Ching, walked around for a while, musing as she returned to her and Aurora's dorm, and stashed her new clothes away in the back of her dresser, and left the pastries bag rolled up closed on top of her pillow.
Afterward, she went down to the infirmary, to see Ari's friend. What was her name? Ne... Nessa? That's what the others were calling her, right? Nessa? Oh, stupid stupid names... But Caroline went to visit her anyways - in some strange way, despite not being responsible for anything that happened during that party, the dragon girl felt almost guilty for Nessa's woes.
Caroline slipped into the infirmary, and sat down next to Sam and Tyler (though she did not yet know their names) and Ari to see Nessa. "Hello..." she whispered, and nodded solemnly towards the commiserates.

Sam turned around quickly as if she'd been shocked. "Oh! I'm sorry, you probably want to be alone with her huh? Come on Ty, we should get the bathtub fixed for you." Even though it was a joke there was no humor in her voice. Tyler still cringed at the thought. Slowly they made their way to walking over to the door.
Musica was standing outside the school building, smoking his first smoke of the day. At the rate he was going he could just quit, but never could he bring himself to do that. Once it was done he flicked it away from him, walking into the building with his tank top and jeans. His shades were over his icy eyes and his light jacket was over his shoulder. Walking in he used his senses to detect different auras. Ari, Sammy, and Tyler were all with Vanessa so he'd leave them be for now. They probably didn't want him there anyway.

If it were possible for one to feel pale, Aurora felt this now. Looking at the others, she asked, and her voice rasped lightly, "Do any of you feel it?" She didn't elaborate for a moment, because she expected that if they had felt this dark presence of a soul, not technically in this plane, but not lost to death, then they would simply know what she was talking about. Her eyes were somewhat glassy as she restrained the part of her being that was trying to open up and invite the soul in, literally. "...A soul so dark..."
((...Yyyyyeah... Aurora may have some problems like this for a while. At least until Nik gets a body.))

A stout nurse came over to the people gathered around Nessa's bed. "Curfew, ladies!" she tutted sadly, looking at Nessa's still form. When she saw Tyler leaving with Sam, she placed a hand on the young girl's shoulder. "He can't stay, sweetie. No boys in the dorms. It's a rule, and it stands for siblings too," she added, noticing their similar looks.
Ari looked up, suddenly unable to bear to be around Nessa. "I'll escort him out, Ma'am," she said, stepping up next to Ty. The nurse gave her a hard look, and then nodded.
"Fine. But my other nurses will be watching from the windows to make sure he leaves!" she warned. Ar nodded. "As for you Miss," she elderly nurse said, "To bed!" she murmured in a kindly tone as she led Sam away.
"Ready?" she asked Tyler softly. Something within her flared, and she knew Musica was on campus. That neither thrilled her, nor repulsed her. Maybe after Tyler left, they could talk. It felt like years since they were on that stage, joking around.
