Kilik was staring up at the top of Mt. Chimney, watching as smoke was billowing out of the top. He had tucked his PokeNav away and was now rolling Cable's Pokeball around in his hand. When Mitsu locked fingers with his, he nearly dropped it. He managed to hold it tight and smiled when she leaned back to face him. "Huh?" he put the ball on his belt and nodded. "Nothin' wrong. Just waitin'..." he laughed and gave her hand a light squeeze. "It's strange. Never, in a million years, would I have imagined that I'd be fighting Team Magma. Then again," he looked back up at the mountain and closed his eyes. "I wouldn't have imagined half the things that have happened to me since I left home. Team Rocket, meeting all of you, and everything that's led up to this point. I figured I'd do like most kids did; leave home, become a trainer, get badges and train Pokemon. Why did we get chosen?" he looked back at her.
"Why us?" he asked again, "Of all the kids of the entire world...what was it about us that put us in all these situations that call upon us to be heroes? I never see anything in the news about other kids being heroes or dealing with situations like we do!" He stood up and slumped. "It gets tiring. Why can't things ever be...." he waved his arms a bit, "normal?"
He looked at Mitsu and then sat down, facing the same direction she was, hugging her. "Sorry. It's just a lot to handle." He kissed her forehead and sighed against her skin.

So the leer managed to work on the sandslash. Laichi noticed. The sandslash tried to make it seem the opposite, but that step backward was a sign of an uneasy pokemon. "Let's see how much it helps. Zii, it's fighting ability is similar to yours. Quick attack it into a juggle, do not let it hit the ground!"
Zii grows a deviant smile and in a haze he vanishes. The masked boy screams, "Sandslash defend! Then make that zangoose feverish!"
Laichi notices Zii needs more practice. He's leaving dust clouds wherever he steps, and small craters in the sand. The sandslash observes this too. Not good. Sandslash curls into a ball right when Zii kicks it up into the sky. Sandslash is kicked into a spin, which it abuses. The sandslash rolls down a large tree surprising Zii as it speeds toward him. The sandslash was too quick for Zii to react.
Sandslash jumps from it's ball form and stabs Zii in the belly. He slides to a stop behind Zii with it's eyes closed, as if a samurai from an old Bushido movie. Zii growls and instantly becomes ill.
Laichi realizes what just happened: Poison Sting. Laichi leers at the sandslash then at it's owner. "I'll have to do it if Zii is unable to."

"Not exactly sure." Mike replied with a slight frown. "My body has been acting strange ever since I got brought back. I can do this." He pressed his lips together and made a popping noise. A small tuft of black smoke came out like the exhaust of an old car. "And that. I think I remember taking a fireball to the face and nothing happening, but I do know that my skins seems to not like water anymore." Mike sighed. Lavaridge had always been famous for its hot springs. The realization of not being able to enjoy them anymore made him feel like part of his identity was burned away in the revitalizing flames of the legendary bird.
"But that isn't what I came here to talk about!" Mike interrupted himself, noting Flannery's concern. "It doesn't matter what happened to me. I'm here now." He looked up at the Gym Leader as he spoke. "Flannery. I came back here to fix things. I need you back." He smiled weakly, trying to hide the desperation in his eyes. "I know my actions might seem self-serving but I want you to know that I did everything only because I thought it would help keep you safe. I couldn't stand the thought of being without you and it has eaten me alive every day since then. I want you to make you happy. I want to see you wake up every morning with a smile on your beautiful face. I want to be there to see it!" Smoke started to rise from his scar. "I know nothing I say or do will bring everyone back, or change what I did, but I know that if I do this one thing, I can keep it from happening ever again. I know I can make Hoenn a safer place." Mike's eyes widened with excitement as his desperation began to shift. "It's such a simple plan. I don't know why anyone didn't think of it earlier!" He suppressed a laugh. "After this, no one in Lavaridge will have to worry about anything! You won't have to worry about anything!" He sucked in his lips and smiled, trying to control his facial twitches. He placed his hand over his head to stop the smoke that was starting to pour out. "I'm s-sorry." he said. His whole body was shaking now. "I'm n-not trying to scare you. I just...I need to make things right."

Of course, Leon was pleased that Roxanne's Onix was down and out, but he couldn’t' say that he had expected it to actually hold up against Muuma's attack. Ghos had done a fairly decent job, and even with the Sandstorm helping Onix out, he had still managed to land a few attacks, especially the Giga Drains, which would have done some nice damage to the rock snake. He listened to her little bit and then responded, "I would expect nothing less from a gym leader, of course."
The moment she was done talking, the boy called out, "Shadow Sneak," to his Misdreavus. She immediately complied, and as the rocks were jutting up around her, the Ghost-type sent her shadow shooting towards Nosepass, reaching it out behind the Compass Pokémon and using it to attack him from behind as the rock closed around her.

“Oh, I see. That explains the battle talent.” Mag replied when Ryka mentioned her badges. “I’ve nabbed two badges as well though they weren’t easy by any means.” Mag smiled as Ryka pet her Pikachu, they seemed to have a tight bond which was something that always seemed to be lacking with the people he encountered in his current job.
Once the two arrived in the Pokemon Center Mag also handed off his pokemon to a nurse who whisked them away to be healed. “Well, I was in town doing the normal Pokemon Trainer thing and heard about the contest, so I decided to postpone my trip a little longer and stick around for it. Unfortunately it looks like I won’t be able to make it into the contest since I couldn’t find a ticket anywhere.” The orange haired trainer mused, giving the nurse a nod as she returned his Pokemon and moved on to the next trainer.

Laichi looks long at the sandslash and it's master, the young boy who wishes to be a girl, but will not admit it. (Well, in Laichi's mind anyway.) The boy has an opened pokedex and he nods his head a few times, flipping it closed as he has found enough information about my Zii. Zii is still strong, but a few coughs wake up a sense of insecurity inside Laichi.
"Sandslash, DIG!"
Sandslash spins wildly like a top and buries himself under the dirt.
"Zii, you have to win this battle! He's going to dig under the ground. Move around so this sand rat has no target! The boy girl thinks we'll just stand around and wait for his attack to connect. let's show this fool how we fight!" Laichi expresses while paying attention to where the rat's master's eyes are looking. This may reveal where the rat will appear.
Zii smiles with deviancy, he begins wildly swinging his arms around. He spins a few times with his claws stretched fully outward, causing a rotation. He falls to the ground using the motion to spin into a windmill, as Machika performed when Laichi jumped him earlier. Laichi raises her fist proud of Zii. She knows what this technique is without a pokedex or pokemon cards, which she has seen other trainers use. She knows her pokemon so well she needs not those identifiers!
"Sword Dance! Do it Zii! You look so awesome!"
Zii, using his claws as leverage lifts himself into a handstand. He spins his body like a top, using one claw as the point.
"That's a risky move Zii, let's go with it! Yay Yay Zii!"
Soon after he does this, the sandslash comes spinning from the ground at the very point Zii is spinning. Machika and Laichi are in awe as BOTH pokemon's collide with a synchronized perfect spin. Sandslash and Zii continue to spin into the air, the points of their claws continuously spinning as if two tops spinning against each others tips.
"Zii! Scratch! Quick!"
Zii grabs onto the sandslash spinning it around into the air with the rotation. He throws the sandslash into a tree. Zii uses the momentum to land onto another thick branch. The branch bends back and slingshots Zii toward the sandslash.
"Sandslash, Defense curl!" Machika yells, but is too late.
Zii passes sandslash up with his claws forward. The scratch connected.
"Machika, a successful critical hit with a scratch which was sword danced. Recall your rat before he gets hurt any more!" Laichi says while growing an evil smile.
"I will not!" Machika yells as he runs to give Sandslash a potion.
Before Machika can get to sandslash he is stopped by a foot to his mouth. Laichi did what she was planning. She believes sometimes in a challenging fight a trainer has to join the rumble. Machika spins rapidly into the air and falls flat onto the ground.

There next obstacle happened to be the swamp with Luffy on the other side of it. They paused on the other side of it and stared down at its murky depths wondering what exactly could be under there. How the heck had Ampersand and Luffy put this thing together in just a few hours! Robin wondered for a second before she decided to focus on the task at hand. Putting her hands on her hips a determined look came over Robin's face. "All right! Well lets get going!" With that she took a step into the swamp and instantly regretted it as she felt something bite her leg. "Ouch!" Robin jumped back out and looked down at her leg which was bleeding a bit. Looking back into the water she spotted a verity of water pokemon swimming around in there all of whom looked like they would very much like to take a bite out of Robin's leg.
"Ok, well... that puts a damper on our plans..." Robin muttered as she looked in there. This was a team building exercise, they must have to work together in order to get across. As she looked at her team an idea formed in her head. "All right Black*Star since you are the only water pokemon with me I want you to go in there and try to keep them away from me as I walk across. Brook you are going to be on my head and try to hit any of them you see with your Bullet Seed. Raz, I want you to try to push the water out of our way with your Psychic. Lets try to make this quick! I know you guys are getting tired and we still have one more left after this!" Grinning at her team she watched as they all perked up and nodded at her. She waited as they all took their place and when Brook settled on her head she nodded as Black*Star dove into the water and she stepped into it.
Unlike before she didn't feel anything bite her but she did jump a little when Brook fired off a series of Bullet Seeds at, something, in the water. Doing her best to hurry on Robin was infinitely grateful to Raz who was doing his best to push the water out of her way like the front of a boat. The mud was think around her ankles but Robin pushed herself through, her pokemon were working hard and she had to work just as hard, if not even harder, to show them that she was worthy of leading them anywhere. Gritting her teeth she pushed herself forward and finally up onto the shore on the other side. Raz, and Brook landed/hopped down so they were next to her while she noticed that a member of her team was missing. Black*Star was still under the water!
Not waiting for anything Robin jumped back in and wincing a bit at the pain of some of the pokemon attacking her legs she pushed forward. She couldn't let her brave Totodile fight off all of them in there, especially now that they would all focus on him now since they were out! Still she didn't know where he was exactly but she still pushed herself forward. Muscles straining from the effort to push herself through. When she reached the center she spotted a series of splashes coming from her side. Figuring that was where her Totodile went to Robin forced her body through the muck and pain as her legs continued to be assaulted from all sides. All most falling Robin carefully caught herself and kept moving forward ignoring the pain in her legs. She needed to get to her friend and that was that, she didn't care what happened to her. When she finally got to the area where the splashes were she didn't even hesitate to reached down and once her hands locked onto a scalie tail she tugged up pulling Black*Star out of the water. Her poor Totodile looked pretty hurt, even though he did also look very proud of himself. The Johto starter looked upset and like he wanted to go back into the fight but a stern look from Robin shut him up.
Cradling her poor pokemon to her chest Robin started to head back. It was a lot harder now. All of the pokemon seemed determined to send her sinking into the water but she did her best to ignore it and push her way through it. All of her pokemon worked so hard for her and it was her turn now! Feeling energy surge through her Robin pushed herself forward and picked up speed on her way back to the side. It was then though that she heard a loud roar from behind her. Looking back she did almost fall backwards into the water in surprise. How did they fit a Gyrados in here! The water was only up to her waist and the pool wasn't THAT big! Well no matter how they did put it in there she needed to get out of there fast. It seemed like the other pokemon had retreated now and all she could do was do her best to run to the shore.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! That really hurt! Shieldon thought as he was blasted from behind with water. Wincing he did his best to stay up and ready for battle. He wasn't going down that easily! He had to prove he was good enough to be in this gym! Roark had given him a new future and he had to do his best to make it up to the man! Turning to face the annoying beaver like pokemon Shieldon growled and charged forward his frustration coming through.
Watching his pokemon Roark was impressed that he was still standing after that attack, However he was a little upset that he had attacked without waiting for him to order anything. His pokemon was upset and mad and his movements clearly showed that. Roark just hoped that his pokemons sudden recklessness wouldn't end badly for him.
“Quiiiiiil…”
Scarlet blinked, looking back over to the Quilava crouched on the elevator. “…Huh? What’s up?” As he spoke, he tapped a button on his belt, a crimson light flowing out and enveloping the Gas Pokemon, returning him to the safe and comfortable confines of his Pokeball. Scarlet trotted over to his partner and kneeled down, frowning a bit at her nervous expression. “… Don’t tell me this place is bothering you that much…?”
She responded with a quiet nod. Cindy most definitely did not belong this far above ground level, and she had no issues letting her friend know. If he was a good friend, he’d get her off this thing as quickly as possible.
“… Alright. Let’s go out for some air. We were gonna catch a water type anyway, right? There’s a pond outside next to Sprout Tower. Let’s check it out.” With a ‘see you in a few minutes’ wave to Jett, the trainer from Cherrygrove City and his Quilava shot down to floor level on the insanely fast elevator, proceeding outside and heading toward the place where they got Terumi not 24 hours ago.
The lake there was almost pristine, well taken care of by the citizens of Violet City. The Quilava and her trainer would’ve admired their reflections for a while, if not for the ripples that suddenly splashed up at the surface. Deep down, Scarlet could see movement, blue and white, a couple of feet under the surface.
“… Sweet. Maybe we can pick up a Poliwag.” Scarlet said, remembering a girl he went to school with showing up with a Poliwrath. Dual typing with fighting in the future could open up a mass of possibilities.
Cindy nodded in agreement, thinking of how powerful it was. She definitely wouldn’t mind having something like that as a partner. Especially if it limited Scarlet’s use of that creepy, creepy ghost.
And so, Scarlet fished into his bag, retrieving a Good Rod. With silent concentration, he sat down on the edge of the stone bridge, dropping the lure carefully and silently into the water, waiting carefully for his future poliwag to bite.
The pokeball-style floater bobbed gently atop the water’s surface. The red haired boy had yet to get a bite, but everything had been so eventful late, even Scarlet and Cindy could appreciate the quiet, so there were no complaints. So, at least for a little while, the pair relaxed, Scarlet focused on the sky, Cindy staring attentively at the tiny, floating pokeball.
Their little break lasted for all of fifteen minutes before Cindy squeaked, starting to bark at the dipping floater. Scarlet stopped his cloud watching, staring blankly at the water. “What? I don’t see anythin- oh wait that’s your point! WE CAUGHT SOMETHING!”
The red haired fishing master reached deep within his inner well of strength, the Machamp within, and with much effort, dragged out a Poliwhirl!
Just kidding.
Flopping on the side of the stone bridge next to him was a reddish orange fish, a golden crown-shaped fin atop its head. Wide eyes stared in literally one direction, pupil going nowhere in particular, simply locked onto the sky. Its mouth was wide open, pink lips twitching, a single syllable repeatedly escaping from it. “Karp. Karp. Karp. Karp.”
“…” That was not a poliwhirl. Or even a poliwag. Scarlet frowned a bit, while Cindy rolled over laughing. “… This is gonna be a long break.”
Machika rubs his face for no reason, due to his hands and face being dirty. He sits up to view an outrageous scene. Zii has the sandslash up against the tree in a choking fashion, and Laichi is walking up with fury in her eyes.
"Why...why are you doing this girl?" Machika asks.
"I really can not place it right now, but I can not stand you. You think you are all righteous and you think you are better than me! You insult Zii and you mock me! Nobody is better than me!" Laichi exclaims as she kicks Machika in the side. Machika falls over and drops a pokeball.
A meowth appears and jumps in front of Machika. The meowth looks sickly, and shakes as it's hard for it to even hold itself up. Laichi's anger seems to decrease instantly. She has made a very bad decision. She stumbles back, understanding why Machika was taking the medicines. He was trying to heal his own pokemon. Laichi never met a thief who stole for good.
"Wha..what is this? Are you trying to be some kind of Robin Hood? Do you really think your pokemon want to be healed through dishonest means!?"
Machika rubbed some dirt from his pants and he stands up. Revealing the pokeball, the meowth returns. He returns sandslash and with a firm voice says, "Look at the situation here. Observe what each of us are doing. I attempted to run, and try to stop the conflict. You got your medicines returned, but you remain here to inflict unnecessary pain onto me. You had your chance to return the bag, but you did not. You even lost my boat. Look at the scene here! You are the villain!"
Laichi's body sends a jolt to her brain as he says this. He is right. Laichi covers her mouth in disbelief. She has never been on the wrong end. Yes, Machika stole, but she did get the stuff back. She stayed to inflict greater pain, because of an insult. Laichi looks at her shaking hands.
"Why is my hand shaking?"
"It is shaking because you are angry. You have no control. You like to see people hurt! You like to see pain! The shaking is your soul telling you it is wrong! But, you are too hot headed, too stubborn! You won't stop. Why won't you just let me leave?"
Laichi begins tearing up, and then Zii places his claw on her shoulder. Zii shakes his head, telling Laichi not to cry. Laichi remains staring at her shaking hand. Her body is hot, because she is hot tempered. Machika slowly walks past Zii and Laichi. They remain still, not even watching Machika walk by. As Machika limps over a hill, Laichi's hand becomes still.
"...am I a bad guy, Zii?"
Roxanne blinked a bit in surprise, as Shadow Sneak wasn't a move she'd experienced before. "Nosepass, try to dodge!" she called, but the Compass Pokemon was definitely not known for its speed and agility, and the shadowy attack crept up on it from behind, striking it for a rather decent amount of damage. It was easy for Roxanne to see that Leon's Misdreavus was much stronger than his Gastly had been, but that didn't mean she was going to give up.
"Rock Throw, Nosepass!" she called, knowing that Tackle would be virtually useless against the ghost-type Misdreavus. Nosepass gave a quick nod and thrust its hands into a boulder, ripping out large chunks of rock which were then turned into deadly projectiles which were sent in the Misdreavus' direction. * * * * * Riza had been about to say something else about Crenu's eye-catching outfit when Ken popped out of seemingly nowhere. She smiled and attempted to thank him for his compliments and answer his questions, but he never stopped talking long enough for her to get even a single word in. Riza glanced cautiously over at Crenu once Ken had turned his attention on Amy, unable to not smile as she watched him. He looked so uneasy and uncomfortable, but this was no different from the last time they'd encountered Ken. She rose and stood next to him as Ken introduced himself to Amy. "That's Amy," she said, nodding. "Tonight is her first contest, too."
Riza took a deep breath and looked around at all the other coordinators. A lot of them seemed to have that first-time vibe to them, though there were a few people that seemed less nervous. Riza smiled to herself. The pre-contest jitters hadn't really affected her yet, but she figured there might still be time for that. 'Nah, I'll be fine,' she thought, running her fingers through her hair. 'I've been saying all along that I'm gonna win this, and I'm not about to go back on that now.' She looked up at Crenu, and smirked. "So how did you let Ken talk you into wearing that?" she asked, eying his sparkling outfit. * * * * * 'Psybeam's a psychic-type move, if that hits Genki it'll cause him some serious hurt. But can he even dodge in his confused state?' Katie thought worriedly when she heard the woman's command. She grit her teeth and looked to her Pokemon. "Genki, you've gotta move! Don't let that Psybeam hit you!" she shouted, hoping her voice would get through to him.
The Monferno blinked a few times, certain he'd heard Katie's voice calling him. He couldn't quite hear what she was saying, but he knew that she wouldn't want him sitting around and doing nothing! He turned in the direction of the glowing lights and began to rush forward, thrusting out his fist for a Mach Punch.
'What is he doing?' Katie thought, watching as Genki sped forward. 'His Mach Punch won't touch the Misdreavus...' His speed carried him forward and he was able to avoid the Psybeam, though the attack, however ineffective it may be, landed nowhere near the ghost-type. 'Oh well, at least he avoided the attack,' Katie thought with a weary sigh.
Spearow gave a caw of indignation as its eardrums were violated by the Hoothoot's resounding Uproar, and even Falkner, who had raised many of the Owl Pokemon before, had to admit that he'd never heard a Hoothoot make such a tumultuous sound before. "...Wow," was all he could say as he calmly covered his ears with his palms, wishing he had a pair of earplugs with him. "Your Hoothoot is quite... spirited."
Spearow's short wings flapped rapidly as it carried itself back up into the air, its beady little eyes shooting death glares at the caterwauling Hoothoot as it awaited its next order from Falkner. The blue-haired trainer pushed his hair out of his face and tried to ignore Athena's screeching. "Fury Attack," he called, his voice only just reaching the ears of his Pokemon. Spearow crowed loudly in reply and quickly turned about in midair before diving at the Owl Pokemon, eager to tear into her with its sharp beak. ===== Miharu couldn't really put her finger on what emotion she was feeling as she and Sam finally arrived in Cherrygrove City, but she knew it was a mix of nostalgia, guilt, and apprehension. She hadn't come back home at all since she'd actually left to start her journey as a Pokemon Trainer, and now that she thought of it, she hadn't called her father once to update him on her progress. Her pace became much slower as she walked the familiar streets of her hometown, though surprisingly, no one paid her so much as a second glance. She looked down at the dress she wore, which had gathered a few small stains already, and sighed. Perhaps no one recognized her in a dress, as Miharu had always worn ratty, old jeans and tee shirts, and now she could see why many people considered her to be a tomboy.
She stopped walking and turned to look at Sam. "So, uh... should we press on? There really isn't that much to see here." Even though she'd only just returned to her hometown, she couldn't wait to get out of here. It wasn't that she didn't want to stay, it was more that her father had insisted over and over again that she leave home in the first place, and she wasn't sure she wanted to see him again after he'd practically thrown her out. Granted, he had given her the egg that would later hatch into a young and healthy Bulbasaur, but that was besides the point. She cleared her throat, and shrugged her shoulders. "It won't take us very long to get to New Bark Town if we stick to the shortcut."
The grating, high-pitched noise that Uproar made always filled Jett's heart with unease, and this particular instance only egged him on. He reveled in the feeling, all worry practically erased from his being.
It seemed Spearow was going to make another head-on attack, and he wondered if Flying-types always focused on such physical force rather than... well, all he could think of was something along the lines of feather bullets, but that was beside the point. He was about to call out for a Hypnosis when he remembered how Athena couldn't stop using Uproar in the battle with Scarlet. "Try to dodge it, whatever it is!" he called, hoping Athena would take her usual initiative to gain some upper hand.
The Hoothoot in question already imagined what she would do, and as she was ready to hop up and down once more, she hopped to her immediate left. Her round body turned and spun, getting grazed by the first Fury Attack before she erupted in another Uproar. Hopefully, the attack would be startling enough (in such a close range) to cease the rest of the attack or make the Tiny Bird Pokemon go away.
The trainer smiled slightly, but it faded some when he caught Scarlet leaving in his peripheral vision. "Wonder what he's up to," Jett muttered to himself, all while waiting for the gym leader to make the next move.
---
Amy giggled at the Snow Land Pokemon's antics, before her attention was caught by yet another coordinator approaching them. He certainly seems bold, she thought with dread, anxiety making her heart race. All the coordinators seemed so interesting and showy, and she was just... meek.
And then Kenneth actually addressed her, introducing himself as a designer and a coordinator extraordinare. The girl opened her mouth, but nothing really came out. She smiled gratefully to Riza when she introduced her.
"I-it's nice to meet you!" Amy said, holding out a slightly trembling hand. She laughed a little, though her cheeks burned because of her obvious apprehension. "Sorry... just a bit nervous."
((The Holidays are always busy, no one's really posted lately.)) Kenneth smiled as he took Amy's hand and bowed, kissing the back of her hand lightly before letting it go. "The pleasure is all mine Amy, it's nice to meet you too!" He exclaimed as he stood back up. Froslass continued to hide in the ground, coming out slightly more. This Amy girl seemed nice enough. "Oh honey there's no reason to be nervous, contests are suppose to be fun! They are parties for coordinators and their pokemon to get out on stage and express their beauty, and beauty comes in every shape and form. It's like a dance floor for you to get out there and display your moves and force everyone to watch and acknowledge your beauty and skills, there's nothing more beautiful then a trainer and their pokemon having a great time on stage and showing how strong their bond is. After all, that's why the big time contest is called the Grand Festival, and all the contests leading up to it are also less grand festivals! So shake out those nerves, you've got to get out there and have the time of your life at this great party we call a contest, and most importantly of all show them how beautiful you really are!" Kenneth yelled out with gusto as he spun around in place and came to a sudden stop, hand up in the air with the other one on his hip, his cape swinging around and wrapping itself around his body. There may have been a small applause from some of the other trainers, but that may have been all in Ken's head. "Time to shine kiddies, you ready?" He said winking at Amy and giving her a reassuring smile. Crenu was busy trying to escape into his mind somewhere as Kenneth did his usual act. The clock was moving slower than it ever had in his life, it seemed like this contest would never happen. He looked up from rubbing his eyes long enough to notice Riza had walked over to him and smiled slightly, taking her hand in his. Despite the multiple stitched up cuts and tenderness he didn't even really notice the pain as he looked at her. "I don't even know anymore. He talks so fast that I had to do it to get him off my back. Besides I needed something better than my torn rags...though I think he could have toned down the silver more than a little." Crenu said with a sigh as he looked at his fake silver rose. Whatever, right now it was going to have to do. "He is right about one thing though. You look amazing." He smiled a little more, leaning down a little kiss her lightly. As he looked at her he couldn't help but think that he may have to go up against her somewhere in the contest. And if so, what would he do? Crenu came to win, but so did she. What if he lost? She'd been watching contests far longer than he had, after all he only decided to do this recently. What if she lost? Would she be mad at him? He didn't want to hurt her or her pokemon, but he didn't want the same to happen to him and his pokemon either. "...I don't plan on losing you know. Not to anyone." He said finally, not realizing that he had been tightening his grip on her hand. A few of the stitches on his hand had been torn open as a result and blood was starting to drip out of his glove, but Crenu didn't notice. It didn't hurt at all, in fact he didn't feel anything at all as his grip continued to tighten and more blood started to drip from his hand.
Watching from the sidelines Tony Tony debated weather it had been a bit excessive to release one of his Gyrados into the pool with Robin, especially this one who seemed to be a bit more vicious then most. Still he made no move to call back the pokemon as it charged forward to the running Robin and her bundle.
In the swamp meanwhile Robin was starting to panic just a little. There was no way she was going to make it at the speed she was going! Oh she and Black*Star were going to become fish food! Turning forward to face the front she put all her effort into running forward. It was tricky in the swamp and her feet kept getting stuck in the mud and the water was really slowing her down. Not wanting to look back even as she felt the hot stink of the monsters breath behind her as it made to swallow the poor human girl Robin pushed forward hoping to save herself from this bite at least.
The attack never came though as suddenly there was a loud crack sound followed by a few loud pinks. Not stopping her pace forward Robin looked behind her and spotted her teamates behind her. Raz was buzzing around doing his best to distract the large pokemon while Brook fired off Bullet Seeds and if he got close enough let out large puffs of various colored powder. "Thank you guys!" Robin called back tears of joy pooling in her eyes. With the combined efforts of Raz and Brook, Robin made it to the shore safely and when she finally made it to a safe distance from the edge she fell down into the grass and laid there resting for a moment. Just a moment later though she felt the setting sun get blocked from her vision. Opening her eyes she spotted Luffy standing over her with a big grin on his face. "Hey there buddy. You ready to finish the last of this course with us?" Robin asked feeling pretty tired but ready to go if the rest of her team was behind her.
When Luffy reached down to help her up Robin took that as a yes and grabbing his tail hand got up and looked down at the rest of her team. Black*Star who had been with her the whole time looked tired but ready for more. Brook looked to be in pretty good shape as well as Raz, Luffy had just joined them and looked ready to go. "Ok then guys, one more obstacle and then we will have beaten this thing together!" Robin cheered the rest of the team perked up at that. "Lets go then!" Grinning Robin took off in a run towards the last event, the target course.
