Lore coughed at that and blushed deeply, he would have never... ever... well it was just unthinkable. He couldn't understand what gave them that idea they were that close, it was something his assistants would suggest. He wasn't angry at it... only well.. embarassed really.

Elnara felt her face warming and knew it was a bright red, but she tried to ignore it and said, "Perhaps if I took one room with the girls, and Lore the other with the boys?"
She looked over at Lore, trying to appear nonchalant, though she knew she was as red as she had ever been. "Would you mind sleeping with Celebor and Storm?"

It wasn't like the boys took up a lot of room to begin with, so he should be fine having them there he thought to himself.

Ulani was only slightly amused, but she was more embarrassed for her guests than amused. She whacked Ulrich upside the head - though perhaps not as hard as she might normally have - and gave him a soft lecture in Elvish ... though the language itself made it sound far more gentle than a lecture would normally sound.
Then she turned to Elnara. "Do you want me to take them, then?" she offered. "The younger ones at least look as if they're ready to fall asleep here and now ..."

"Actually," Elnara replied quickly, "if you'll just let me know where we'll all be going ... I can put them to bed."
She wasn't sure how the children would be, having a stranger - for though they had been here a while already, that was what Ulani was to them - put them to bed.
Celebor poked Elnara's arm. "I don't wanna go to bed, Mommy," he told her. "I'm not sleepy!"
Elnara rose and took Idhril from Celebor's lap. "No, you don't have to," she assured him. "Everyone else, though ..." She beckoned for Serenity and Skye to follow her, and take Starr and Storm with them.

"You can stay up with me for a little while longer," Lore told Celebor, "But we must get to bed later on.. otherwise you'll won't get use to the change in time. Okay?"
He didn't think it would be a good idea for them to stay up too late.

Ulrich grinned at Lore as Ulani led the others out of the kitchen and down the hall to the larger of the two guest rooms.
"Sorry," he apologized, though he was still grinning and feeling rather amused - but his apology was honest and sincere. "I didn't mean to put you on the spot like that. As Ulani's fond of reminding me, I tend to jump to conclusions too quickly."

Lore sctratched the back of his neck akwardly as he nodded, "It's quite alright, I suppose.... me coming here, I should have expected something like that."
It didn't help that some of the children actually called him father.
"I take it, it's happened before?"
The jumping to conclusions part he had meant.

Ulrich nodded slowly, his expression growing serious. "Many times," he replied. "Thankfully, nothing as serious as before Ulani and I were married ... but still, all too often."
He let out a low chuckle. "Considering my aptitude for jumping to conclusions, it's a miracle we married at all."

Celebor listened silently to the conversation, munching on his dinner and glancing back and forth between the two men. He had questions that he wanted to ask, but he knew better than to interrupt a conversation, and his questions could wait.

Of course, he knew from experience how life could just easily take you off guard. After all, he hadn't expected to fall in love... or kind of have a family like this.

Ulrich chuckled.
"You have no idea how true that is," he laughed. "Ah ... yes, life certainly has a way of taking unexpected turns."
He took a drink of his ale and watched Lore curiously. "So how did you and Elnara meet, anyways?" he asked. "We asked Kara and Donovan when they were here, but they didn't really know."

"Luck really," Lore murmured with a smile.
He had fond memories of that time, which was funny since he had been so nervous back then. Unsure... Elnara after all was elven, though not of the same people.
"The cafe where she works, was suggested to me by some people where I work. So... one night I decided to try it out, and it just kind of snowballed from there."

Celebor grinned excitedly.
"He comed to Uncle Triton's cafe!" he blurted excitedly, eager to take part in the conversation. "And Mommy was there and me too but it was just us cos it was just us then, even S'ren'ty and Skye weren't there then, and not Storm or Starr or Idhril cos it was just us then!"
He paused. "That was a long time ago, wasn't it Lore?" he asked, turning to Lore and looking up at the elf with awe-filled green eyes. "But you teached me and Mommy to read! Right?"
