((The shield blocks physical attacks completely and magical attacks partially. Also, is Minatsuki going to set the whole world on fire?? And Azure, Sai heard when Kin called out, he just didn't have the chance to respond.))

"Guh!" Tor grunted as he saw the effortless way that Minatsuki had destroyed his sword. He knew he could protect himself from her fists and her blade, but that black fire was another matter. He could splash some of it off of his shield but a little over half of it would be able to penetrate his defense and come in at him in a blazing flame of death. This all left him with one option. "Quiss! Get her!" The spined creature bounded forth from where it had sat for so long simply watching the battle with no directions to follow. He leapt towards the flaming girl, black flames glancing off of his body without leaving so much as a mark, and hurled himself up towards the girls face teeth and claws bared.

((I forgot to say that: Everybody can't use super powerful spells indefinitely. We all have a more or less preset spellcasting capacity. If you reach or surpass that capacity then you pass out like Bron did. The more often you cast numerous high powered spells the more your capacity will increase though, just like muscle strength and exercise. Exert your spellcasting power, just don't overexert it.))

((Roger that, Tura's going to be tired after this one.))

A flash of light twisted across the sky followed by a roar of thunder. The storm had reached its peak.
Tura was already feeling the strain of her spell casting. With one powerful stroke of her dark wings she lifted herself directly below the raging clouds. Her efforts were nearly over, most of her energy went into forcing the elements into a storm, all that was required now was to guide its product.
The gryphon wove a small shield directly around her heart. If the lightning passed through it, the damage would be lethal.
After making sure the shield was strong she lifted her head up, readying herself for one last spell.
Another bolt of lightning ripped through the sky. Tura took a deep breath.

"Now!" Vilya yelled as a narcal leapt at her. Using the creature's own weight she tossed it into two others flanking Sai. Jumping clear of the pack she made a b-line for the trees.

Tura felt the spell close over her storm, felt the power inside it twitch. All together in one amazing bolt the built up electricity threw itself down upon the solitary mage. Tura brought up the image of the battlefield, showing each green light to the immense power that rushed into her. It all happened within a split second. The lightning tore earthwards in a mass of thin spears, hitting most of its targets with a paralyzing (if not deadly) blow.
Tura began to fall, the power she had channeled left her stunned for a moment. Suddenly fear gripped her as she tried to spread her wings and found they would not move!
She swore mentally, some of the electricity remained in her body and had paralyzed her wings. She needed to get rid of it.
As she fell the man called Tor came into her sights. He still possessed a shield, she knew that much, whether or not it protected against lighting she had no idea, but it was worth a try. If it did connect, anything metalic that touched his skin would scorch him very badly if not burn right through his skin.
Focusing her energy and forcing the fear out of her mind she repeated the spell.
A thick bolt shot from her talons and she held her breath.

((Fire to be explained through PM, because announcing it to everyone is not fun razz Second question: Not to offend Silver Griffin, but the post seems to imply that Tura is the one casting the spells, not Vilya. Is it possible?))

The flashing light of the thunder blinded Minatsuki as Quiss lunged for her. Unable to react fast enough, Minatsuki barely stuck out her sword to protect herself. Because of Quiss's weight on her, she was pushed backwards, and lost her balance of Asako, who was still working as a catalyst of the spell and unable to respond. Her claws on Minatsuki's bare shoulder left deep cuts and wounds, triggering a heavier flow of blood down on her arms, fueling the fire even more dark and furious.

Feeling the pain now, Minatsuki gritted her teeth. She swung her sword to ward off Quiss, Asako perched on the ground, her flame now disconnected from Minatsuki; it would take a little more time for Asako to come around. The constant flow on her blood only drove Minatsuki to swing harder because she was starting to feel the dizziness. Though she swung her sword at Quiss, the impact was not as hard as how she broke Tor's sword easily, but still enough to send a creature that was bigger than her back a few meters.

((Indeed you are right, as it says in their profile Vilya cannot cast anything but the simplest of spells. It is Tura who is the master mage ^^.))

Sai had dived out of the way as soon as he heard the womans shouted command. Stratus had also taken back to the air and distanced himself from the feline creatures. Sai rolled back to his feet, his sword raised in a cross body guard, and watched as all of the cats were struck through with viscous bolts of lightning. Immediately they began to fade from sight. All but one who fell to the ground with a thump and lay sprawled there.

Tor saw the bolt coming and raised his shield. He then swung his arm, and the shield with it, to intercept and deflect the bolt. When it did connect a large portion of the blast glanced off of his shield but a fair amount of it still tore through and bit directly into his shield ring. The energy lanced down through his arm and into the rest of his body. He opened his mouth to scream and it came out as a gasp and a puff of smoke. He fell to the ground and was still.

((No worries, my weekend was booked solid anyways.))

Vilya saw Tor hit the ground, she traced the bolt that struck him to her companion, still hurtling towards the earth.
"Come on what's wrong with you? Open your wings..." She watched with mounting panic as the gryphon continued to fall. "Open your wings!!"

Tura began to feel the tips of her wings, but it was not enough to move them. She sifted desperately through the pages of her mind, hoping to remember a spell that might save her, but time was growing short and with the fear that was clawing its way back into her thoughts she felt like she was running a race with her legs tied. This was going to be interesting...

Kin obversed his "friend's" battle close by but still kept a good distance.
Kin said impressed by the newcomer's abilties.
Vix replied.
Look's like the newcomer is in trouble though... The other two better deal with her since I don't want to be the one to end up saving her. Kin grimaced at the thought of saving someone but still was ready incase he needed to have his options open.

((Looks like you pretty much beat them so, you don't need me. X-D))

Sai thought.

Stratus thought back. He flapped his great wings once, twice, three times and flew through the air. His legs and forelegs tucked in close to his body he flew as fast he could from a near standstill. He stared ahead of him to where the Gryphon was falling.

Sai said. He sheathed his sword with his right hand while he raised his left and pointed his palm at Stratus's moving form. Concentrate... "Evanui tunc Videor." Sai said and released the build up of energy within him falling to one hand and knee while doing it.

The instant Sai released the spell Stratus Vanished from where he was and immediately reappeared directly beneath the falling Gryphon. He thrust his wings forward and canceled out his forward momentum. Then did a half barrel roll and prepared to catch his new ally in his forearms before completing his roll and gently lowering the two of them to the ground.

Tura was ready for the worst. As it stood she had only enough energy for a spell that could lessen the impact, not stop it altogether. She took a breath and was about to utter the words when a flash of orange blinked into her vision. Before she could guess what had happened she felt the dragon's forearms close delicately around her, pulling her into the rest of a roll before sinking slowly earthward.
This was a first for Tura, she had always been used to getting herself out of trouble. Now that someone had done it for her she couldn't help but feel a little awkward. She stepped away from the feathered dragon, turning to face him but unsure of what to say. Expressions of gratitude had never come easily to her.
She was saved for the moment however, by Vilya who had run up beside them.
"Of all the brainless, rash, self-centered things to do!" She had her hands on her hips as if scolding a misbehaved child, despite the fact that Tura was so much bigger than she was. The scene was quite comical.
"You could have been seriously hurt!"
Came the gryphon's short reply.
"Yeah, and not by your design." Vilya shot back. It was then she turned her back on her companion and knelt before Sai.
"I want to apologize for Tura putting you through that. Are you going to be all right?" Her voice was full of genuine concern.
"...My name's Vilya by the way." She stood and offered her gloved hand to help him up.

((Is Minatsuki still supposed to be raging around? Oh, and Quiss fell unconscious when Tor did.))

Sai took her hand gratefully and allowed her to pull him to his feet. He felt quite drained and knew he needed to get some rest, and soon. "My name is Sai, it's nice to meet you. And it only seemed right to help you after everything you did for us. Anyways, we should probably do something with these two." Sai said and gestured at their fallen adversaries. "Kin!" He called out, "Why don't you come and join us." He turned back toward Vilya, "So, any suggestions on what to do with the criminals?"
PostPosted: Sat Oct 13, 2007 12:20 pm

Kin walked over a few feet from Sai. "Tie them up for now and gag them so they can't cast any spells." Kin interupted. Kin then watched Vilya carefully. Was she following these two guys or was she following us? It would be too much of a coincidence if she had just been wandering this way... Kin thought to himself as his golden eyes studied her.

((We're all going to the same place aren't we? sweatdrop ))

Vilya saw the new figure approach and caught his gaze. She gave him a quick smile before saying; "Tying them up is a good plan, I'm headed to a town a little ways east of here, I can turn them in in the morning."
She walked from them to the unconscious forms of Tor and Bron, pausing only to collect the items that had caused them so much trouble. "I think I've met the real owner of these and if I recall, she lives in that town as well."
She came back to her companion's side. Tura already had a coil of rope in her beak. She had taken it from a leather pouch fastened just under her wing. Vilya accepted the rope and undid the straps for the pouch, taking it away in her arms.

Vilya sighed. "Would it be all right if Tura and I camped near you guys for the night?" She held the rope out to Sai.
"Here, it's been enchanted. Anything that's tied with it is kept in a light sleep, provided it's asleep or unconscious when you tie it. It was really made for animals..." She looked back at their defeated opponents. "But somehow, I don't think that will matter."

((I'm sorry that i haven't been posting in a wihle. I also have to add that my life is currently experiencing few setbacks, and i need some time to sort things out. I will post as often as possible, but i won't be too active.))

Breathing heavily, Minatsuki smirked at her blood-drenched arm, and caughed up large pool of blood before falling on the ground. Her blood had caught on fire when it had left her mouth, but quickly disappeared when she hit the floor.

Asako finally gained consciousness by then, and urgently looked around, trying to figure out what had happened while she was unconscious. Seeing Minatsuki on the ground, she let out a loud screech, quickly flying over to her. Panicking, she flapped her wings, screeching, trying to get others' attention.

Sais attention had been completely diverted from Minatsuki by the magic lightning storm and by the fact that Minatsuki hadn't done anything overtly aggressive for some time now. Now that he saw Asako flapping around and screeching frantically he looked over to see Minatsuki laying in a puddle of her own blood.

Oh, s**t....

Sai felt the blood drain out of his face as he gazed upon her prone and still body. He quickly quelled his fear though and ran to her as fast as he was able, which turned out to be not very fast ((He's still tired from the teleportation spell...)). He fell to his knees beside her and lay his head on her back ((I'm assuming she fell face-first)).

Oh, thank you!

She was breathing. And when he felt for it she had a slow but steady pulse. He felt carefully along her back but could find no serious injuries other than the gashes in her arms from Asakos talons. There were no bruises and no broken bones as far as his limited training is such things could tell him. He gently rolled her over so that she was on her back and set her head on his knees.

"I think she's going to be okay. She's just lost a lot of blood and probably exhausted herself. We should probably get her shoulders bandaged up as soon as we can." Sai said to Asako and the others.

((Again, remember that Combatants can speak telepathically only to their own bound creature. A bound creature can speak telepathically to their partner and to other bound creatures. A creature that is not bound cannot speak telepathically, and most creatures cannot speak out loud because their mouths and vocal chords are not shaped correctly for it. The exception to that being like an elvish creature, or something similar...))

Stratus called to phoenix,
