Dante nodded, pushing over the gate. "That's right." Now he was beginning to see how grateful he should be that Weiyuan was with them. The natives, or so he had heard, could be hostile. In that case it was vital they had people the natives knew and trusted.
Dante hoped the others were as well prepared, as he bit his cheek to keep from saying something smart-assed to Greg as he stepped through and into the wilds.
Lina blinked, then nodded. "....ah. W-well I feel ALL right. I'm...a little hungry. I haven't eaten." Because I wouldn't be able to keep it down. "But I brought a few boxes of Pocky. So if any of you want some, just ask!"

Indeed, Far didn't have to tug, as Ka started walking just about at the same time. He shortened his own steps just a bit to stay even with the other - as he had longer legs and was generally taller. This whole tromping into the forest to investigate thing bothered him a little as well.
As they caught up with the two adults they were assigned to, Ka asked quietly, "Just how dangerous is this? Are we likely to run into any, ah. Crazy people out here?"

Sable turned as RuiZhi's brother began to speak, adjusting his glasses as the boy spoke. Well. He certainly was a...serious fellow, wasn't he? The lab tech sighed, pushing a hand through his bedhead. Better to know all the dangers up front and what not. And Weiyuan knew the language! Excellent. At least there was something in their favor.
He looked back over at the redhead, the smile returning to his face. Smiles were kind of contagious like that. "Yeah. Well, I'm sure we can think of something," he said with a sage nod, leaning 'sooner or later' unsaid. Right now was not a time for doubt and all that, even if he was good at it. He just liked facts to back up a theory. He opened his mouth to say womething when Rylenn spoke again. Stay with him? Sable blinked. He didn't see why not. "Sure," he said, nodding. Well. Rylenn didn't seem bad after all.
"...should we get going now?"

Rylenn nodded and smiled brightly. "We shall..." He laughed softly and pushed his hair behind his ear and padded towards the group. He waggled a bit. "Let's go!" He grinned brightly, excited. A new friend. Someone that didn't hate him and an adventure. Hi ho silver! Away!

Alex lowered her gaze to the taller boy, lifting an eyebrow. He didn't know? What on earth was he doing here if he didn't know what he was up against? Her lips pulled into a wry smile; she could almost see Kenth pointing at her thoughts accusationally, being close to his own. The smile faded, however, at the reality of the situation. "This is very dangerous, Ka'hmesh," she said quietly, "between the riots and unknown deaths, there's nothing safe about being here."
She turned her head to regard the boys, a light frown forming. She couldn't help but ask. "Did you not know? If not, why did you come?" There was nothing mean or angry in her voice, merely puzzlement. This was going to be bad, if the boys didn't know. Alex would have to keep a larger sense of presence over the two, to make sure they didn't wander off or otherwise cease to pay attention. "I'd suggest staying close, regardless. Keep an eye open for anything unusual - that is, more unusual than what's considered normal here." The last part was muttered, but loud enough to be heard. The whole damn place was unusual as far as she was concerned.

Ka blinked at that ... going just slightly pale at the mention of just how dangerous it really was. Glancing over to Farlest, he frowned slightly at the other boy, wondering if Far had known what they were getting into here.
Swallowing, he looked back toward Alex and replied, "I came becuase I wouldn't let Farlest come alone." Simple answer to a simple question, so far as he was concerned. And if Far had known exactly what was going on here, he hadn't said anything about it to Ka ...

Farlest had known...to some extent. If not the details...then he had known the danger. Well aware that their lives were at risk, he'd wanted to help anyway. He was quietly listening to the two talk..his friend and the adult.
Truthfully he'd assumed that Ka had known as well...and now wondered if his friend was angry with him.
This wouldn't be the first time that Far's life had been in danger, but it would be the first time he'd put himself in such a situation. Nothing was safe, so why cower in a false sense of security? Others...needed help...needed their help.
Not trying to play the hero...just wanting to aid.
Biting at his lower lip, there was an unsurety in emerald eyes as he watched Ka'hmesh. He wasn't sure what he was going to do if the other was upset with him.
Not...gonna cry if he was, dammit.

Ka watched Far for a moment, then slowly raised brows in a questioning sort of manner. They hadn't really known each other all that long, considering. But Ka didn't think that Far was the type to randomly drag people into things they weren't prepared for either.
"You ... thought that I knew too, didn't you?" he asked finally, head tipping slightly to one side.

Elijah smiled as Herei joined them and looked to the others when they all were together. He seemed eager to get going and waited patiently to see exactly what was going to happen next. His bright eyes darted toward the forest, searching through the foliage as though he would see something, but turning back he put his attention on the members of his group.

“Thank you Weiyuan. That should help.” Greg said cheerily to the boy. He looked at Dante as the other man brushed past him, and lent nearer to him as he walked fast enough to keep up with him.
“No insult Dante?” he asked. “It’s not the morning until you insult me someway.”
-=+=-
“Thank you, Herei. I’m ready to go, if everyone else is.” Irame said gesturing a little towards the children as Lina had said that she was ready. She looked up at the woman, however, and was a little worried. After all people should eat normally, especially breakfast… Even if it was pickled frog feet.
(Get it Salts?! Spot the stupid reference?)

((OMG REFERENCE OF STOOPID!))
"I prefer to say nothing at all if I cannot say anything complimentary in front of the students," he said, not looking at the man. In a second, he had looked completely away and down at Weiyuan, completely ignoring the teacher as gracefully as possible.
"So you are familiar with the area. What is the best route to take?"
Lina smiled, noddg at Herei, then looked back at Irame. "I'll be fine," she said, taking the woman's hand and leaning towards her. "Really. So don't worry about me, okay? It'll go away."

(((I NUUU!!!))
Greg simply shook his head. If Dante didn’t want to talk to him right then then he didn’t have to. He was pretty sure that sometime later Dante would insult him. It was, after all, Dante.
He looked over at Weiyuan as well as Dante started talking to him. He didn’t have anything to add in, but he would listen anyway.
-=+=-
Irame smiled weakly at Lina. “Of course, Lina.” She said. “I’m sure that everyone will be fine. I just…” She involuntarily glanced down a little, towards Lina’s stomach. “I’m worried about you being sick already. It might make it easier for the disease.” She shrugged.
“Anyway I suppose that we should get going and stop just standing here.”

Audun had been moving along silently with his group, daring himself to onyl listen to the conversations the sets were having. It was...informing.
The young boys, they were quite a bit close he noticed on the side, didn't seem to understand what was going on. They seemed afraid...yet still willing to do something. Reminded him of a baby rat facing a snake, really.
As for the woman and the man - they seemed so close yet so very distant. They obviously knew what was going on, and they were afraid for it...or he thought at least. Should he be a little on the edge as well?
After all, as with each passing step they took Audun felt his memory of why he'd been so eager to come leave his mind piece by piece. He'd only wanted to stdy the bodies, he only wanted to be left alone with the dead to learn from them. He didn't want to look for them, he didn't want to help them.
"....heh."
He smirked at himself for that thought, knowing full and well he was now involved so deep he'd never get free without any effort. It was damndable.

Farlest would have bristled upon hearing Audun's mental description of the two of them...for he had known more than enough danger in his young life. Nothing quite like this, mind...but...peril of the life threatening sort.
The smaller boy nodded at Ka, quite obviously ashamed of himself. He should have made certain that the other knew what he was getting into...should have...
...but he hadn't...had just been so overwhelmingly happy that the other even wanted to go with him, that he hadn't considered that would be the only knowledge that Ka'hmesh had of the situation. "M'sorry..." He ventured quietly, "I honestly thought you knew...I apologize for dragging you out here then." Even if Ka had been the one who insisted, that's what he saw it as, and he held himself responsible.

"Tsk, it's moot to worry about it now," Alex said firmly but kindly. "You both need to focus and not worry about what should or could have been. All we have is right now." She flicked her eyes to their silent companion, who seemed to have found something amusing, before looking back to the boys with a reassuring smile. It was bad that they didn't know what their purpose was, but she'd make sure they were safe. "Stay near by." Adding, I wont let anything hurt you seemed cliched and just asking for trouble; best to leave it unspoken. Her stride never faltered as she walked by the doctor, her gaze turning grimly to the swath of green that they were swiftly making progress to.
Herei smiled at the women and inclined his head. "Let's be on our way, ladies, gentlemen." He looked kindly at RuiZhi and Elijah, extending his hand in a motion to follow along; he assumed he would lead, but he wouldn't mind if one of the women wanted to take point. He trusted Irame's instinct, and therefore trusted Lina. While he would have rather gone with Dante and Kenth, this was the best he could do to seperate the groups fairly. He just hoped it worked out as well as he had planned.
"Okay!" RuiZhi agreed enthusiastically, turning on his heel to face Elijah. "Let's do our best. It's up to us now." He felt good to say that, to be able to be on the move at all. It seemed everyone was anxious to start on the first leg of the excursion, as Doctor Kenth was already long gone, and the others were starting down their given path. He fell into step behind Herei, flashing a fond smile at Irame and Lina. It was time!
