pshh...brass all the way...woodwinds are no competion...sure they can sound good...but can you always hear it....and plus in the professional world it is better to be a brass player because thier are more oportunities...

Durza the Shade Woodwinds! I originally wanted to play trumpet, but as it turned out, I couldn't buzz my lips worth squat, so I went with clarinet, my second choice. I'm glad now I did, I'd much rather hang out with a bunch of girls (I'm the only male woodwind, besides the saxophones) than some of those brass guys. *shudders* xD
The only male clarinet in are band is a short funny dude.
I prefer woodwinds because spit valves scare me, and a have to sit in front of the trombones (I get poked a lot).

I like both... I can make a trumpet noise without using a trumpet... But I play clarinet very well. ^_^

i prefer brass not only because i play a brass instrument but because all of my friends are brass players (with th exception of my contra bass clarinet playing friend and my bass clarinet player friends but those are considered low brass to me so they are brass lol ^_^ ) but yea and on the poll thingy instead of saying drums.....i am a rebel it should say drums......i am a retard lol ( cuz like all drumers aretards sry if there are any drummers here plz dont kill me)

i've played a woodwind instruments for almost eight years, and i still think is brass is cooler. there's a reason DCI doesn't march woodwinds whee woodwinds are there for trills and runs. but woodwinds r great in a concert setting. personalities aside, i would still pick brass 'cause i love horns (mellophones or french horns) and brass instruments are more flexible stylistically overall. don't pick on brass for being loud xd they r "bell front" instruments.

woodwinds! maybe its cuz i play clarinet or alot of the brass people annoy me, but all i know is trumpet sounds straight away behind u arnt fun

Well i play both, ( clairenet 'n' f horn) and i enjoy the sounds of both brass and woodwinds.... but i'd rather play a woodwind instrument >>
