“Demons and heretics, that’s what they are!” The men in the cities shouted and screamed aloud. “They struck down a brave hunter down who tried to keep a family from harm as they ravaged a hut in the woods. Alas the family is gone and the hunter rests on deaths door. Will the god claim our dear, beloved brother who has served the Great Ones well? Or will they bestow the brave warrior more time upon this earth so more good may be done? I don’t know, but I do know that these monsters, these beasts, these anathema must be obliterated!” This speech was the same in a every major city and town. The street preachers and the rabble rousers all spoke these same words and set convictions of hate towards those with power. The tale was told that the brave Darius had come upon monsters attack a homestead and had tried to rescue the family within. Unfortunately the brave warrior Darius had been out numbered and was forced to flee and was rescued by a farmer, who had carried him to a local temple for healing, Darius’ broken body bleeding and battered, but his head held high. This was the story the Inquisitionalists had concocted.
If the Hunters were the sword that hunted the beast in the shadows, the Templers where the axes that hunted in the light and the Inquisition, well the Inquisition was the poisoned that no one knew existed except in deeply hidden whispers. The Inquisitionalists were the force that almost none knew existed and ever few would believe so. They were powerful, influential, and most of all, [perfect in their devotion. Now, two Inquisitonalists had come to this town, though none knew, for their cloaks kept them out of sight. The two smiled as they watched the men on the street rousing the crowds to anger and this was their most potent weapon. The masses. Hunters used swords, Templars their shields. The Inquisition used people. Already civilians were crying for the beats’ blood that had harmed a family and such a brave warrior. The two Inquisitionalist slipped inside the temple and removed their cowls.
“Seems Darius’ foolery may yet be turned into a mighty weapon.” Spoke the red haired man.
“Indeed. Darius acted very out of character. He is so devout and his cunning has matched our own before, why would he be so rash?” Replied the dark skinned man.
“I know not Demetrius, I know not.” Responded the red haired man again. “But he must have had a reason. How sad it is that he may die before telling us just what occurred.
“Indeed so a shame that we came across him so late in the fight.”
“Yes but what is done was done for the Great Will and we shall abide by the Mighty Law. So what shall be done, Demetrius?’
“We shall wait awhile. If the villagers themselves march forth and try to slay the beasts, nothing shall occur by our hands. However, if the beasts remain spared divine judgment, we may need to take upon ourselves a far more active role, do you agree Reno?”
The red haired man named Reno nodded to Demetrius and looked up at the church around them and smiled.
“Your plan, my devote friend, sounds most excellent.

Abel picked up pace and scowled down at the younger girl, "its not like that. . . " If he had gone back to his anthro form his ears would have been pinned tightly to his head. And though he wasnt sure, he thought he noticed Selyna blush, but it didnt matter, and the thought was easily cast aside. He ignored Taria, it was simply easier that way. Ascending the stairs to the front door Abel tried to shorten his strides to make her ride a bit smoother. Though if he were to jostle her, he wouldnt feel bad, not in the slightest with her complaining so.
"I'm sure they do" He answered in a hoarse grumble as he layed her down on the couch, barely catching Selyna excuse herself. He truned and stepped away to allow Kaori to start, though he stayed close enough that in case she resisted he could easily make sure she werent to go anywere. Now he allowed himself to relax, atleast for this moment, and he shifted to that of an anthro wolf. His tall ears swiveled to listen to Selyna.
He caught everything, even the slightly stronger scent of cat as she changed. Heard her vomit, and smelled it also, wheather he liked it or not. He turned, without a word and headed down the hall, easily picking out the door she had gone to. He stopped, momentarily motionless then reached out to quietly rap on the door. Though he knew it wasnt necessary, she'd smell and hear him. "Selyna?" His tone was colorless and bleak, "You alright?"

Kaori had chuckled slightly when Abel had picked the young teen up. Her protests made her smile come back a bit, and wish that this would not change. When Abel walked past her, she stepped back and turned to the storage closet to grab her first aid stuff. When Selyna excused herself, the young woman looked after her retreating form with concern, but did not follow her, instead she nodded and uttered a quiet aknowledgment.
Returning to the couch, she pulled out a bottle of a clear, gel-like, substance. "This might sting a bit, but not for long," she said quietly as she dabbed some onto a cloth and then cleaned the teenagers wounds out. When she heard Abels footsteps behind her, she glanced in his direction. Seeing that he was heading down the hall, she assumed towards Selyna, she sighed slightly with some releif. She did not know how Selyna was taking this, she didn't know how many fights the woman had been in before, or how many people she had seen killed.
With Abel presumably taking care of Selyna, the witch turned her attention back to the young werewolf and her wounds.

Just finishing cleaning the last bit of bile off of her face with her tongue and paw, her ear twitched towards the door as she heard foot steps and immediately she knew who it was from the smell. Keep going…. Keep going…. Selyna’s wishes were not met however as Abel rapped gently at the door before asking her if she was alright. Totally caught off guard by the fact that he’d come to check on her, she realized there was still a large pile of vomit on the floor next to her and lunged for the towel she’d seen as she morphed back into a humanoid form, accidentally knocking over a couple of books that had been stacked on the night stand onto the floor. I- I’m alright……. Thank you. She didn’t know how to deal with these strange feelings she’d had and figured keeping a door between them would be best as she went to work cleaning up the mess she’d made. If I can’t see him……… it won’t bother me….. However, as Abel stood on the other side of the door, his scent was strong in her nostrils as she was on all fours to clean it up. His scent caused her to remember what he’d looked like at the table before the whole ordeal with the hunter. She remembered how his bare chest looked as he sat at the table; it had been enough to make her appetite shift to other things. At this point she was staring blankly at the spot she’d just cleaned, towel still in her hand. Then everything changed… She remembered the hunter and how he’d threatened all of their lives, but then she remembered how Abel had reacted towards Kaori; it was something she hadn’t expected to feel and it caused her to blush again. Sitting back on her heels, she sat quietly on the floor in the middle of the room, face and neck completely red from the ideas and feelings coursing through her.

"Ya know? For some reason, I find that hard to believe." Abel's reply was rough, and unamused. "I do have a nose, and Im not stupid" He rolled his gray eyes, turning to lean his back against the pane of wood that stood between them. He expected to be waiting awhile for her to cooperate. His thoughts were still along the lines of: she still hated his guts and didnt trust him. "Open the door" His voice was shockingly different this time, there was almost no hint of gruffness. It was soft and musical, thick, yet honey smooth, and comforting, quite like a moments ago when he was talking to Kaori, accent and all.
What was she doin'? There was so much movement and then a crash made his ears twitch, though he only jumped slightly. He thought briefly that maybe she was intentionally throwing things if not for the sheer fact the scent was less feline, more bearable. He released his wrinkled nose. He began to lose patience, but he wasnt about to give in so easily.

Startled out of her thoughts, Selyna's humanoid ears visibly perked as Abel told her to open the door. It was with the same soft voice he'd used with Kaori, but after hearing how gruffly he spoke with her a moment ago; it struck fear in her rather than calmed her. Thinking back to her "home" she remembered how she'd lock herself in her room when her mother's "clients" would show up, hiding under her bed as if they could see through the walls if they looked hard enough. On occasion the men would require more "attention" than her mother could provide and they'd come looking for her; first banging on her door out of frustration or drunken stupidity, then trying to coax her out in a more soothing voice. Not in as nice as a voice as Abel just used, but always the reply would be the same. In her previous experiences she'd curl into a tighter ball, hoping they wouldn't beat on the door any harder for fear that they'd figure out that her door had been broken down many times, though they always left more upset, usually after beating her, because she gave more of a fight than they felt like dealing with. This time however, she felt an odd sensation of calm after her fear. Standing, she moved to the door slowly, her brain telling her it was a bad idea to remove the only barrier between them, but her body continuing none the less. Opening the door, she stood there looking at his body, avoiding his face and eye contact at all cost. Her body was rigid, but the fear was taking over again, and she hoped he wouldn't be able to pick up on it and try to take advantage of it. Come in.

Abel had relaxed, leaning most of his weight against the door. Now as she opened the door, it was totally unexpected, and he fell back, arms pinwheeling as he tried to catch his fall like an idiot. After hitting the floor with the most undignified 'thunk' he flinched before looking up. "Hrrmmm. . . that wasnt supposse to happen. . . "
"Errmm, so youre ok now?" He asked, a grimace of embarrassment still etched across his pale face, though he made little attempt to stand up. The half-demon was still a bit shocked she had opened the door. He reached up and ran his long fingers through his silver hair as he tried to move it from in front of his eyes. He sat up, inspecting her expression, and her previous thoughts being so uncomfortable was written clearly across her face. "Did I say something I shouldn't have?" He remembered what she had said earlier. Before 'breakfast.' Before the hunter.

The moment Abel put her down on the couch, she'd been ready to struggle up despite her wounds so as to hunt down her younger sister, but she was distracted by Kaori's application of the clear ointment on her wounds. She winced a tad as the gel went over the deeper scratches, but remained mostly still. It wasn't as though this was the first time she'd gotten hurt after all, though it was the first time she'd received a knife wound.
Overall, she was fairly familiar with the drill and one of the things that had been repeatedly pounded into her head enough times that it actually stuck, was that when the healer was attending to you, you did not make a fuss. Their family healer had been just a touch... vindictive. If you made a fuss, he could see that you were confined to your bed for weeks on end with nothing to do but drink the most foul tasting medicines he could concoct. Taria had only needed to be subjected to this treatment once before remembering to mind her manners.
So she stayed mostly still and cooperated with Kaori when told to move, and all the while, she plotted her vengeance.
Talia noticed Selyna looking unwell, but since Abel was already taking care of it, Talia's mind re-focused on her more immediate problems. Namely, Taria's retribution. With the tiniest of shrugs to herself, she slipped out of the cabin's back door and began a full out sprint for town. It was a lovely day for a good run after all... and once in town, it'd be that much harder for Taria to find her scent amidst all the other humans.

Jumping back as Abel fell to the floor; Selyna stared wide eyed at him for a moment, before averting her attention, hoping that her staring hadn’t made his embarrassing moment worse. Eye brow raising at the comment he made about how he wasn’t suppose to fall, she nodded curtly at his question of making sure she was alright, still keeping her eyes glued to the opposite side of the room, though she could see him clearly through her peripheral vision. Moving back a bit more as he sat up, Selyna’s eyes widened without her knowledge when he asked if he’d said something he shouldn’t have. N-no. You’re fine. I’m sorry if I bothered you. Shaking her head vigorously, she was still quite uncomfortable with being in the room with him alone, especially a room that had a bed, but as her behavior had angered him earlier, she did her best not to show it, though it was difficult to hide years of conditioning. She diverted her eyes to the floor and began rubbing her arm near her elbow, her other hand clenching and unclenching on the towel. As she heard the door open and the foot steps quickly leaving the house, Selyna glanced at Abel, wondering if he’d heard it and what he would do about it.

Abel rose slowly and nimbly to his feet, the black of his garments showed truly how almost sickly thin he was. It was then he noticed how hard it was not to notice her behavior. "Uhmmm. . . If you want me to leave, I will. . . " He glanced over his shoulder at the empty hallway behind him. He followed her gaze across the room and found nothing interesting he glanced back at her face. He wondered if there was something about his appearance bothering her. "I beg to differ. . . " He grumbled at her awkward reaction.
"If you bothered me?" He gave her a confused look, "Well last time I checked I came to check on you" He shook his head slightly, his hair swinging around his pale face. His eyes seemed to be drawn to her hands rubbing on her elbow, and he couldnt help but be frustrated. Why couldnt she just tell him instead of being difficult? He scowled at her elbow until he heard the door open, and could smell the small human leaving. His ears swiveled toward the sound and his eyes widened in curiousity, though his head never raised nor his gaze wavered from her elbow.

Kaori finished cleaning and dressing Talia's wounds and sat back on her heels. "There, that should do it, just... be careful, you don't want to open the cuts again," She cautioned as she started packing her things back into her bag. "I would like to say, thank you, to you and your sister. You should have just stayed inside where it was safer, but I appreciate the help none the less." Her things back into the satchel, she stood up and headed towards the closet. When she got back into the living room, she looked around. "Speaking of Taria... Where is she?" The young witch asked as she looked around the area. From the living room, she had a pretty clear view of the hallway, kitchen and front door. Not seeing the younger girl in her line of sight, the womans brow furrowed slightly in concern.

Seeing the angry look on Abel’s face, Selyna breathing quickened a bit, though because she tried to hide it her chest heaved slightly. Glancing at the open door behind him that looked so far away now, she tried to speak softly and nonchalantly, but her voice cracked a time or two as she spoke to him. You … you could go check and s-see if everyone’s alright. I’m f-fine really. Thank you. The thank you was so faint only someone with hearing like an animal would’ve picked up on it. She began mentally kicking herself for having opened the door, wondering why she’d been so stupid as to do so. Glancing over his shoulder at the door every now and then, her heart began beating so quickly and loudly she was sure everyone in the house could hear it. She was strong for a woman her size and had been able to fight off the men back home, but she’d seen what Abel could do and wasn’t certain she’d be able to hold him off for any amount of time if he tried something. Why doesn’t he just go out there with Kaori or Taria? He seems to favor them anyway… Confused by her own thoughts, her brow wrinkled as she glanced at his face and quickly regretted it. Her face flushed and her chest began to heave even quicker than before. Wringing the towel, she stared at the floor hoping he’d either get it over with or leave her be; though a small part of her knew if he left, she’d be crushed.

Taria had been just about to stammer a clumsy thanks to Kaori when the other girl asked where Talia was. Now that she mentioned it... Taria sniffed the air and growled quite audibly. "Long gone. She knows me too damn well.... I'm going to tickle her to pieces when I get my hands on her." She spoke in an entirely serious tone, as serious as though the threat was to rip her younger sister to pieces.
Levering herself off the couch, she rotated her arms and stretched somewhat experimentally. Finding everything feeling much better than she had before, she grinned thanks at Kaori. "You do good work, doc. Just gimme a sec, I'll have her tracked down and dragged back here before you can say "Where is she?"
So saying, she abruptly shifted and a dark blur flowed out and away before anyone could stop her.

"Everyone else is being or has been taken care of" No matter how hard he tried to be nice, he couldnt hide the frustration this encounter was causing him. He shook his head, the others werent this difficult, what was this stupid cat's problem. Then again maybe it was just that: a cat thing. And if she didnt like it, for all Abel cared, she could just get the hell out. Especially if she was going to act like this.
Then he noticed it: he awkward breathing, the more desperately she wrung at the soiled towel in her hands, the way her breathing harshened when she looked at him or blushed. He took a deep breath, preparing himself. This could be all his fault, so he had to be nice or at the very least seem gentle about it. "Erm," He paused, his eyes, scanning her face, then locking on hers, "Come on, just tell me what's wrong. I can't help if you dont" His voice had once again lost its edge from before, and was back to being soothing and comforting all in its own.

Really it’s- And there was where she made her mistake. Selyna had attempted to steal yet another glance at Abel, not knowing he was staring her directly in the eyes. She felt obligated to stare back, and her eyes grew wider and held more fear then the rest of her body, as it seemed to shrink in size from her cowering slightly. Biting her bottom lip, she tried to tear her eyes away from his, but failed miserably, only managing to get one sentence out. Please just don’t hurt me….. It was said so meekly and in such a faint voice, that Abel might have imagined he’d heard that if not for the fact of his excellent hearing. I don’t have much money, but I could work just please don’t…. Selyna’s voiced cracked and the tears began to flow, she wasn’t sobbing, but did appear childlike, as if flashing back to some time in the past. She started looking around for a way out or to hide, but as Abel blocked the door and she didn’t think she’d have enough time to get under the bed, she slowly collapsed onto it, covered her face with her hands and cried. She knew better than to shift into a cat as she’d most likely be killed in that small form, and she was afraid if she shifted to a were leopard, Abel would feel threatened and certainly kill her. Out of options and things to say, she sat there, a pathetic example of what a young woman was supposed to be at her age.
