"It certainly is my fault." the man retaliated, poking Brayden in the side gently. "I should've thought more about it before we went out." he remarked as he looked up, hearing his niece and nephews coming downstairs.
"There's a lot you don't know I'm into, love." he remarked in a low growl. "But you'll learn." he added, before leaning back, standing up straight to greet the three housekeepers.
"Hi kids! I trust there haven't been any problems while we were away?" the male asked them.
"No sir, Kaya." Sebastian replied.
"Congratulations on the wedding, by the way." Sylphester applauded, offering a mock audience applause to them, clapping playfully. "Who's the little guy?" he asked, leaning over to see a little better. "He looks just like you two."
"Is he.....?" Desini started, stopping herself as she saw the resemblance. "Oh, he must be! But how?"
"This is Deryn, Brayden and my son." Kaya replied. "Apparently the All Mother thought we deserved this kind of gift and were ready for the responsibility of raising him." he explained as the trio of teens crowded around to see the infant.
"That's amazing."
"I'm sure you two will be excellent dads!"
"Oh, he's adorable!"
"Well.....We were hoping you three would look after him for a few days while we go on our honeymoon." Kaya interrupted the coos of affection from the teens.
Deryn was having quite the fun time grabbing for the plethora of fingers poking at and attempting to tickle him.
"Oh, of course, uncle kaya!" Sylphester replied quickly.
"We'd be glad to!" Sebastian intoned eagerly.
"Absolutely!" Desini agreed. Seemed the vote was unanimous.

"Hmmm, don't even tempt me," Brayden murmured under his breath, as he watched Kaya's niece and nephews meet Deryn. His breath had caught at Kaya's rather enticing promise, but hopefully he had hid it enough to prevent the others in the room from noticing.
His thoughts were soon enough back on the child, although it took a bit of effort, watching as he grabbed for the playful fingers placed in his reach.
"Thank you so much for stepping in on this," Bray offered genuinely to the three teens, "We thought he'd be safer in a place like this. I haven't been to where Kaya and I plan to head, so we wouldn't really know what to expect," he explained. The last thing he wanted to do was to drag their new child someplace that could potentially be dangerous. Although his fears could very well be unfounded, better safe than sorry, he assumed. Especially when it was someone else's safety at stake.
Sai watched the trio curiously, but made no move to approach them. It was clear he was still a bit skittish around strangers, but at least the Vaporeon wasn't making an attempt to hide or something likeminded.
"How did you want to go about this, love?" Brayden asked his husband, resting his chin on Kaya's shoulder for a moment as he spoke, "Did you want to head out right away, or stay here for a little bit before heading on out?" he elaborated. He was up for either, but wasn't sure on what Kaya had planned.
"This place still needed some work last time we were here," Brayden admitted once he had remembered that little tidbit, "Its fine for you guys to live in, right?" he asked, a bit worriedly. He didn't want to put out anyone, especially people as kind as the three teens. Not to mention they were Kaya's family (which, he supposed, made them his family now as well).
"Did you need any help with anything?" he asked, "Getting this place back in shape, I mean." Yeah, he was rambling, he realized, lifting his head from Kaya's shoulder as he flushed faintly. He didn't want to seem like a worrywart, but he was concerned about this at least.

"Eager to learn?" the silverette whispered back. The man's milky eyes darted to his spouse for a brief moment, unnoticed by his young family members.
He, too, had soon returned his thoughts to Deryn and the kids, watching the quartet interact so cheerfully.
"Ya, thanks a lot kids. You're great!" he enthused, agreeing wholeheartedly with his lover. "I've never been there either so it's kind of unknown territory, you know." he remarked as Desini carefully took Deryn from Kaya's arms and carried him into the family room.
Sylphester and Sebastian watched Sai watching them for a moment but neither made a move to aproach him either. The two could read a Pokemon like any open book and they could tell he was a rather bashful creature.
"Well, I was thinking maybe we get some rest here for a bit before we head out. It's been a while since we got any decent rest." he admitted with a sleepy look in his eyes.
"Well, the Master bedroom's just down the back hall and we've got it fully furnished already so you guys can go get some sleep if you'd like." Sylphester intoned.
Sebastian smirked at Brayden. "I think we've got everything in need of fixing done. Sylphester's a pretty handy craftsman and I was an apprentice to the royal carpenter back home, so I can fix the big stuff. And Desi's always shopping with mom so she's got the kitchen fully stocked and can cook like there's no tomorrow." he informed the male and his partner.
"Yeah, the whole place's been completely restored to as close to original condition as we could get it, and fairly easily, too." Sylphester agreed. "All you guys have to do is live here, enjoy it and make sure not to let any random explosions take it out and you'll be good to go for life, probably."
"Stop worrying so much and get some rest, then get out there and go enjoy your honeymoon, guys." the two voiced together, wandering off to join their sister and the baby shortly.
"Well....I guess the house is well taken care of with them around....." Kaya remarked as he turned to Brayden, waiting to see if he wanted sleep or if he was ready to go immediately.

Brayden merely smiled at Kaya's question, although his eyes probably spoke enough for him. Knowing Kaya wouldn't see it, Brayden settled for a simple, "Of course, love," before watching the teens wander off with Deryn.
"I'm all for resting up here for a bit," Brayden admitted, once given the choice as to their plans for now. He himself was still a bit tired, and he did notice the slightly sleepy look in Kaya's eyes.
"So we can spend the night here, rest up both us and our Pokemon, then head out once everyone's ready?" he questioned, looking to Kaya for approval.
'Speaking of us, boss, mind letting us out for a bit of fresh air? Its nice and all being stuck near your butt for the entire trip, but I'd like a chance of scenery, ya know?' Ariadne piped up from her Pokeball mentally. Brayden choked back a laugh at her comment, although he knew she was simply joking, but she had a point...
The Gardevoir, along with Caliga, Mac, and Gin joined the two in the entryway, although Brayden opened the door to allow them to go outside. Which all but Sai took up on. Brayden tossed Ari Luc's Pokeball, so the Magikarp could relax in the pond out in the backyard while Brayden and Kaya were inside.
"While we did relax a bit on Harmony Isle, its been a while since I've slept in a bed. I also have to admit, I'd also like to see the renovations to the house. After all, they've done all this work on the place, I'm sure it looks amazing," Bray admitted. While the last time they had come, the place had a rather unfetching layer of dust coating much of everything, he had still easily seen the underlying beauty of the home. Now that things were liveable, and getting better, he was curious and just a bit excited to see things as they were when the house was still in use.
"You have quite the skilled family, though," Brayden stated kindly, "I'm sure this must have been a lot of work."

Kaya might not have seen the look in Brayden's eyes, but his mental senses picked up that feeling from him. "Excellent." was his only remark, kept low enough that only Bray would hear.
"Perfect. We'll have a nice rest and then set out for the trip." he remarked, clapping his hands together in conclusion.
"Linux suggests allowing Kaya's Pokemon to roam for a while before travelling."
"Hu-oh!" Kaya reached to his waist and pulled four Pokeballs from his belt and released the remainder of his Pokemon. The lot of them wandered off on their own rather quickly. Mian went in search of his mate while Tolkis and Aoi headed out back to enjoy the fresh air in the garden. Tin followed Mian while Rem went to look around and meet the many Pokemon on the mansion grounds.
"Same here." Kaya remarked, glad to have a bed for a night. "Let's get a look around and go hit the sack for a while." he suggested. "Hehe...they are the skilled little ones, aren't they?" he confirmed, not quite sure why Brayden assumed they were family. He didn't have any family, did he?

"That sounds like a fine plan indeed," Brayden acceded, "Well, I recall the main bedroom was upstairs, right? So we can just leave that for last, and explore the rest of the place first?" he suggested, watching as Kaya's Pokemon headed outdoors for a bit of relaxation.
He had missed the slip of tongue earlier, but agreed easily with Kaya's statement, "Definitely. It must've taken quite a bit of time and effort to get things up and running again. And even though I haven't seen the rest of the house, I can already tell its looking great so far," Bray nodded, glancing around the entryway, following his gaze to the living room. He was pleasantly surprised to see that the place was already furnished. That was a load off, Bray decided. He wouldn't have known where to start on that end.
'You're a lousy decorator anyway, boss,' Ari "helpfully" supplied, picking up on Bray's stray thoughts. Brayden clamped his mouth shut, because he was just about to say the same thing aloud to Kaya.
He sighed. Stupid psychics...
'I love you too.'
"So where do you wanna check out?" Brayden turned from examining the living room, watching Kaya.

Kaya nodded. "I believe it was. And that sounds like as good a course of action as any." he verified, trying to remember the layout of the house. It had been a while since they'd been here last.
"I'm sure it did. They're quite the handy little housekeepers, it seems." he remarked as he glanced around. He couldn't really see much more than the shapes of things, but he could tell just from the feel of the place that it was cleaner and more livable than before.
Master...Naofa and I shall be...preoccupied for a while. We may not be able to come immediately if we are needed. Perhaps you should leave me here for a while. Mian's voice jumped into Kaya's mind. The male blushed a bright red as he realized just what the Gallade was insinuating.
"Uh...Let's avoid the garden for a while........I think Mian and Naofa want some privacy." he remarked as he turned to face Brayden. "Maybe we could go look in on the study? My books should be here by now." he suggested. "I might e able to find a way to fix my eyes, with your help of course. Or maybe I can find that bit of code that will fix Linux."

"Uh... study... yeah.... good plan," Brayden managed, flushing slightly at the realization of what the request for privacy meant for the two. Better avoid the gardens for a bit.
So Brayden set out to exploring the house, Sai tailing him closely, as he tried to find the study. Kitchen was easy to spot, so he avoided that room for now, heading further into the home.
After a bit of searching, he opened one of the doors to find the room in question. A wide window let in a lot of natural light, perfect for reading. And what he assumed to be Kaya's books were lined neatly on a couple of bookshelves that lined the wall, across from a few comfy-looking chairs and a writing desk.
"Looks like the perfect place to curl up with a good book," he commented, examining the room. Sai darted forward from behind Brayden, leaping up agilely onto one of the chairs, testing out to see if it really was as comfy as it looked.
Apparently, it was, for the Vaporeon curled up, watching the humans lazily.
"So you think there's a way in one of these books to help your eyes?" Brayden asked, turning to face Kaya, "A fix for Linux would be cool too. I guess you have some books on coding too?" Brayden looked to the shelves, "I'm afraid I'll probably have to leave that one to you. I haven't really done any coding for anything. So doing something so delicate as fixing a Porygon's code seems a bit out of my league for now."
Outside, most of Brayden's Pokemon had found one place or another to relax. Cali, on the other hand, had a hard time finding just the perfect napping spot. She finally settled beneath one of the trees that lined the small pond, careful to avoid the water's edge, in case Luc took up another flailing session in the water. The Magikarp had been deposited there a short while ago by Ariadne, who still kept track of his Pokeball.
So Cali settled down for a nap, enjoying the nice weather.
However, she soon discovered that she wasn't alone in her spot, a Budew releasing a sudden burst of pollen, using the sun's rays as stimulus for the reaction. Caliga sneezed, sending pollen flying, as the Umbreon dispatched the Budew with a Psychic. She lifted the bud up and away from the pond, tossing it to the other side, where it could spew out all the allergens it very well pleased.

Kaya could almost feel Brayden's flush matching his own. "Uh...ya...You got it." he replied simply, quickly following after his mate as the male set out in search of said study.
Once he stepped inside, he could feel the change in the atmosphere. "It does seem like the kind of place you could enjoy a good novel." he replied to Brayden's comment in easy agreement.
"Yes, I'm sure there's something in here that might help. I may not be able to make myself capable of seeing fully again, but maybe I can see more than just blurry, colorless shapes, you know." he remarked hopefully. "As for Linux, I know for a fact there's something in here that could tell me how. If I can find the book, I can tell you how to do it if you'd be willing to be my eyes." he verified.
During the exchange, something rather interesting occurred. A Pokemon jumped up on the windowsill, though it wasn't any that had ever been seen in the area before. A small black creature, foxlike in appearance with small tufts of red color on it's body. It seemed to be watching the goings on curiously. Something was...odd about this group. they had invaded it's home and changed it. Now it wasn't sure what to make of them, so it simply watched.

Brayden nodded in understanding, making his way over to the shelves along the wall, "Sure thing," he offered, "Just tell me what to look for. Do you remember any titles, or anything about the books in particular that I should look for?" he asked, looking to the bookcases. Nothing stood out to him upon first glance, but he kept scanning the books on the shelves.
He missed the small fox-like creature up on the windowsil, since he was looking at the books, but Sai spotted the movement, blinking owlishly at the strange Pokemon. Not really sure if it was a threat, he stuck to his newly-claimed chair nervously, crouching on the seat cushion.

Kaya thought for a moment before he spoke. "One of the books I'm thinking of is called 'Practical Application of Metaphysical Theory'." he offered, as he continued to think. "I can't remember the name of the other, but it's a think paperback with a bright blue and green cover." he added as he reached to a nearby shelf and ran his fingers over the spines. Each of these books was written twice between the covers, once in print and again in Braille. With Brayden's help, he should be able to find what he was looking for in no time at all. It took longer to read Braille than people realized.
The small creature watched Sai for a moment, offering a curious glance and a fox-ish smile. It seemed to be friendly enough. It hopped down and wandered over. "Zo?" it asked, wondering who these people were. Maybe the Vaporeon could answer it.

Brayden nodded, "Metaphysics... got it," he continued to scan the shelves, this time looking for the title Kaya had offered. After a bit of searching, and a few dead ends, Brayden finally pulled a thick and complicated-looking tome from the shelf.
"This it?" he offered, holding up the book for Kaya to examine. About the same time, he spotted a blue and green book, but it ended up being a small book on gardening with the help of plant Pokemon. Which seemed interesting, but not quite what he was looking for...
Sai peeked over from the cushion, watching the foxlike Pokemon approach.
"V...vapor?" Sai murmured, returning the Zorua's curiosity, tail twitching slightly as he regarded the strange Pokemon. He was curious as to what the newcomer was, he had never seen anything quite like the small Pokemon before.

Kaya hurried over to Brayden and ran a finger over the cover of the large book, feeling the series of tiny bumps on it. "This is it!" he declared as he snatched the book up and rushed over to the desk shaped blob in his field of view.
~Aoi, come here!~ he thought to the Metang on the manor grounds.
In the meantime, the small Zorua watched the happenings with increasing curiosity. It had remained unnoticed by the humans thus far and felt it was safe to have a seat and converse with the Kanto Eon for a bit. {So what are the human's up to? Why are they in my home?} it asked, it's voice soft a female sounding. It would introduce itself to the Vaporeon only if prompted to do so. It didn't realize the Pokemon had no idea what it was.
Aoibhinn eventually drifted into the room, following Kaya's mental signature. "Can we help Masters?" the Metang asked, curious.
"Indeed you can, Aoi. You're brain should be able to comprehend this book much easier than mine and at a much faster pace." Kaya spoke to the Pokemon. "I'd like you to see if there is anything in here that might be relative to making my eyes work and let me know while I search for another one with Brayden." he explained. "Think you can do it?"
"Of course, Master Kaya. Our mind is twice as powerful as the human brain. We shall inform you if we find anything of use to you. Please return to your search." the Metang replied. Of course, With the link between them, Brayden was likely to hear all of Kaya's mental conversations with his Psychic types. And understand them.
With Aoi's assurance, Kaya returned to helping Brayden look for the other book he had in mind.

Brayden watched the discussion between Aoi and Kaya, a bit surprised at first to catch the mental conversation. But hey, he was used to Ari's comments (at least Aoi was a bit more polite than the sarcastic Gardevoir), so it wasn't hard for him to grasp.
"Glad we found the right book," he commented with a smile. He had the nagging thought that whatever the book would call for them to do to restore part of Kaya's sight, he'd be up for the task.
But first they had to find the second book. So Brayden brushed those worries aside for now, turning his attention back to the shelves as he looked again. This time for colors rather than words. He picked up any book that fit Kaya's description, scanning their titles a bit closer to see if anything he found would be of any use to their quest.
Brayden soon had a small collection held under his arm of four or five books. Once he had finished looking through his bookcase, he looked to Kaya.
"Think any of these are the ticket?" he asked his love.
Sai's attention, however, was still on the strange visitor.
"They're looking for... a written book... I think," Sai looked back up at the humans looking through the bookcases, "I'm not sure why they're having a hard time. There are lots of books here," he sighed. But the Zorua's next question had Sai a bit curious.
"Your home?" he asked, "I thought this was the home of my master and his mate..." The gears spun for a bit for the Vaporeon, before the water type realized something. That meant he was sitting on the foxlike Pokemon's furniture! Which was terribly rude. He had assumed it alright because Brayden and Kaya hadn't any objections to him sitting on the chair, but who knew what this strange Pokemon would think of him making himself at home (figuratively, of course) on its furniture!
Sai subsequently leaped off of the chair, landing in a tumbling heap among and under a pile of unshelved books.

Brayden heard the crash, turning to see Sai's tail sticking out from under a pile of books. He knelt, digging out the Vaporeon, setting Sai back down, still not spotting the odd foxlike Pokemon among the pile of books.
"You okay?" Bray asked the skittish Vaporeon, who merely nodded sheepishly, averting his gaze. Brayden pat Sai's head gently, "Its no trouble," he assured the Vaporeon, "Just glad you're fine. Watch out for those books, though," he smiled, "they appear to have a habit of jumping out at people."
Sai nodded obediently, before scampering away from the books, careful not to upset anything else in the process. Brayden watched Sai go, shaking his head slightly. He really hadn't meant that last bit literally, but Sai was now avoiding the books like they had the Blaziken Pox or something.
Bray knelt, stacking up the disrupted pile of books, noticing a few new titles he hadn't before. When one green and blue book caught his eye, he paused, examining it, before adding it to his stack of "maybes" to show to Kaya.
Once the Leaning Tower of Paper was back in order, looking a bit less precarious than before, Brayden stood once more, picking up the books he had retrieved thus far from the shelves.
