Amari nodded slowly as Asikari finally spoke his name, but flinched a little as he was asked for his own. He didn't have many things he kept secret but his name was something he guarded well, it was his identity and who he was. He supposed however that it was only fair he tell this lion what it was, especially since he hated being called 'rust-bucket'.

After a small huff he raised his head a little and glanced at the lion, "call me Amari. I don't think rust-bucket would attract the girls as much." He chuckled and increased his pace so he was walking up alongside his 'sort of friend'.

He knew he was still treading on shaky ground, and this was probably far from being called a proper friendship, but he supposed it was a start. This was the beginning of the new more sensitive Amari, he would make sure not to make any mistakes again and not to guard his ego so much.

He shrugged. "Why do'ya wanna attreact females if yer 'ave yer lil' doll face, eh?" He made a face, he was glad most avoided him. Especially after a first encounter. No one could stand him long after that, and that made him happy.

He shifted, continued to stair straigh ahead, letting his mind wander. "Females are jus' a pain annee way, perhaps thurr nice ter look at.." He shrugged uncomfortably; he hadn't thought so. "Bu' trouble in the end.."

Amari perked up a little at this conversation, girls are what he knew best - or that's what he thought anyway - and he was pretty sure he could get this ol' coffee lion to change his mind too.

His question however caught the young lion a little off guard, why exactly did he want them around anyway? He mulled on this for a few moments before replying. "They are nice and soft." He grinned, rembering Maawio's smooth fur and the tickle of her whiskers when she nuzzled him. There was no feeling that quite matched that.

"Maybe you just haven't met the right female." Amari continued, he knew that some could be a pain, but he giggled a little at Asikari's use of words. Did he not realise that most other lions and lionesses probably thought of him as a pain as well? He knew for a fact that Bakhti did. He smiled inwardly and raised his head higher.

He gave a little shudder. Cuddling with another lion.. a female at that? He made a rather funny face, tounge sticking out. Apparently he didn't realize he was trouble either. "Dun think i do be goin' ter look fer a girl." He snorted, flicking his head a little.

The only thing he wanted to do with a certain girl right now was chase her the hell away. Kept following him at night, boy was it annoying.

((-snorts- girl problems on AIM rp XD))

(( okay we can continue later on n__n ))

Amari chuckled light heartedly and turned to glance at Asi with an amused expression, eyes lightening as his mood improved. "Ahh come on now, don't knock bein with a girl until you've tried it." He twitched his whiskers thoughtfully.

"I'm sure we can find you a nice snuggly female who'll put up with your strange moods." He joked.

He made like he was going to hack up a hairball, then rolled his eyes. "Lissen.. yew stay witha girls an' ill stay with wha' im good at, eh?" He wasn't exactly sure what that was, but he knew he didn't want any snuggly female around him.

His tail flicked slolwy, gaze flicking around. He wanted to travel, was what he wanted. Wanted to go to new places. These lands bored him.. it was the same thing every day.

Amari rolled his eyes, a grin spreading across his maw as he glanced at the male through the corners of his eyes. Was nothing he said going to change this lion's mind? Was he simply determined to stay alone? Well he guessed that the fact Asi was allowing him to walk beside him was good enough for now.

"Okay, okay you don't need to bite my head off." He laughed and shook his head as a fly buzzed in front of his nose. "So what exactly are you good at Asi?" Oh the joys of polite conversation.

He snorted and made a face, thinking fast. He wasn't exactly sure. He'd never been shown how to hunt.. so he pretty much failed at that. He wasn't good with girls, or making friends. His tail flicked slightly, nose twitching. "Pissin' other lions off." He said, his tone completely serious.

Sad, that was the only thing he could think of. He fell silent, not even glancing toward Amari. He could see a few boulders ahead, and a lonely, stunted looking tree. That might be a nice place to rest..

"Ahh I see." Amari said, taking note of the serious tone of the male's voice, obviously he was rather proud of that trait. He supposed that sometimes annoying others might prove useful, but not when it became a habit you couldn't get out of.

"So you weren't brought up learning manners?" He questioned, not really expecting an answer, it was really none of his buisness how he had been taught as a cub.

His hazel eyes also caught sight of the tree, it looked strange and somewhat lonely just stuck in the middle of nowhere, as if it wasn't supposed to be. He sighed, this place definately wasn't as interesting as the jungle.

As the mention of how he was brought up came he missed a step, stumbling a little and shaking his mane out. Now he definetly stared at the tree, face becoming stoney. "...i did no know manners." He mumbled, as they reached the few rocks and lonely tree he lept onto one of them. He stood a moment, frowning down at Amari before dropping to his haunches, bringing up a paw to lick at it.

"i..." He shouldn't share this next part. Amari would just.. what? make fun of him? Light he was used to that. "I did no 'ave any one ter show me them.." He muttered, becoming very interested in his paw.

Amari came to a halt as his walking companion did also, a light frown creasing his features. Had he stepped on a sensitive spot? He opened his mouth to speak once more, perhaps apologise for bringing it up when the other spoke.

He hung his head a little and continued the last few paces to the tree, glancing up as Asikari leapt up onto one of the rocks. He met his gaze briefly before glancing away at the seemingly empty horizon.

His tail swayed gently in the air as he listened to what the other lion said and with a look of confusion falling over his face he turned back to glance at him. "What d'ya mean?" He blinked and tilted his head. "Didn't you have a mother?"

Asi let his gaze wander, up toward the sky. "Yeh. I 'ad one.." He wrinkled his mug. "She.. er.. lef' me bef'er I could be taught annee thin', alright?" He hissed, not elaborating on the story. One of the main reasons for his odd speech? He'd tought most of it to himself. Which was a hard thing to do, of coarse.

"I wasn' wanted.. sos she jus' took me an.. an.." He trailed off, still staring at the sky; trying to hide that sad look that was creeping into his gaze. Unwanted. That's how he's constantly thought of himself.

Amari's ears drooped, his tail fell to the floor with a soft thud and his head lowered, shoulder blades rising up as he did so. Now he felt terrible! He had attacked a lion who had already dealt with so much suffering, it seemed silly to mope about his own pitiful past when this lion sat here and spoke of his.

How could a mother simply leave her cub alone? He growled softly, eyes narrowing at the disgusting behaviour of adults. Were they all like that? Did something happen to a lion when they reached a certain age that made them cold hearted? Or was it just a handful of them that chose to follow a path of evil intentions? Sure, he could be unresponsible, flirtacious and a little annoying himself but he would never ever leave a cub alone!

He was suddenly aware he hadn't said anything since Asi had spoken and finally he raised his eyes, glancing at the other sadly. "I-I'm sorry." He turned his head once more, shame gathering inside of him, not knowing what else to say.

Asi shifted, also crouching a little, though from embaressment, not shame or any of that. "Do no be sorry.. nothin' yew did." He huffed, looking around. This felt odd. He'd never told anyone else that little well-kept secret.. and the first he offered it to was some one who'd he'd gotten into his first fight with.
