I ustea play deamon hunter... stoped.. to much tactits needed for me... I used them with Dark Angels ( when it was acceptable with the codex) and I used a raven wing... Take about a sweet army ^ ^ Nothing but troops that Kill in colse combat and have the best of skill for basic troops and bikes ^ ^ I think IT's the perfect list for takeing on Deamons of chaos... you have heavy bolters melta bombs with yer bikers... best of troops with heavy armour and phych skills and all of the special skills with the comand squad... anyone who can use tactics realy well should use the deamon hunters ^ ^ They are a very perfectiones army with very few models on the table...

"Use what you have very wisely for if you lose what you have you will be overcome by you'r foe... take care of yourself on the battle field... you have a gun and you'r will... together these are that the only tool you have to destroy the evil within the galaxy"...

Oh yeah, I have one BIG thing to point out that almost everyone forgets, BASIC greyknights DON'T have powerweapons. Only on Justicars and Higher does the Nemesis blade become a Power Weapon. Thus, 3 Power-Weapon, and 17 Non-Power Weapon attacks per basic squad of Greyknights, assuming a basic 'knight has the specialist weapon. That leads to a total of 2 Kills on average from the Justicar on anything WS4 or less, and at most(Assuming Grey Knight always has the favor in odds) 4 Kills. Sure, that's a lot, but I won't tell you how many GK players at my GW think EVERYONES Nemesis Blade is a Powerweapon...
How many? 3,4?

No, out of about 9 or 10 Grey Knight users at my GW, only one has never tried to claim their basic weapons are not Power Weapons. So 8 is more correct.
Slap em with your rule book

Then the rule is problably not unknown to them, they are just a heap of cheaters, or you live in a rather stupid area. It says specifically in several different locations that normal Grey Knights only get the +2 strenght bonus, and the Justicar gets the +2 strenght and the power weapon.

crying You guys make an Inquisitor feel right at home.
Needless to say, I love the daemonhunters! I myself am radical, so I am the crazy, almost damned player, using anything and everything to destroy the forces of Chaos biggrin

I read a thing or two about the Grey Knights being Discussed...
Well, here is my thoughts on them, Grey Knights are in reality very much overated, I love them, they are very charactorful, but people make a moutain out of a mole hill sometimes. Sure they have incredible daemon fighting capilities but get this; not many chaos players are daemon heavy, sure it's fun to try to be all daemons, but alot of Choas players use daemons as "allies" so to speak.

Like a Death gaurd player uses Nurglings as meat sheilds while the Plague marines are the ones who get the real work done.

Grey Knights, while very awesome, have great fluff, and nice weapons. Are just overated.

Give me 40 Storm troopers, an Inquisitor Lord, a Daemonhost or two, and prehaps an assasin, and I am a happy Daemonhunter! biggrin

Glad to be apart of the guild, by the way. ^_^

Kanna Tomoe
oh, and don't forget about diffcult terrain. A charging korn marine into difficult terrain will lose their initiative advantage in close combat.

This way even if a Grey Knights player has horrible shooting or the Korne player has amazing bloodrage rolls, they can make up for the shortfalls by making sure the Korne player at least fights with a lower or equal initiative due to cover.

In the end it really falls down to the individual players strategems and luck.

Not to be much of a burden, but you know the inquisitional scrutiny =] [=

Are you saying that if a unit of regular Khornate Berserkers assaults Grey knights they have to test for difficult terrain?

I think by the difficult terrain you meant in a general sense right? p

[quote]Only some Inquisitors use that at which they hate. The "Radicals" think that that is the best way to do it. Most of the other ones don't really agree with these methods, and many choose to call these "Radicals" heretics. I for one agree.

DON'T PRESUME TO JUDGE ME, You cannot comprehend the burden of the tasks I must preform, nor the price of my failure! =] [=

(Heheh, sorry had to say it, I am currently playing Radical, will make a puritan Inqusitor one day however...)

Yes, I believe she ment in a general sense.
I actually think she was rebounding my previous statement that if a Grey Knight player falls back while firing, and keeps a piece of difficult terrain between him and the berserkerz, than they would have to charge through it eventually, further slowing their charge, and hopefully enough so that either the stormbolters get to them, or their softened up enough for the Grey Knights to all out crush them in an assault.

Random question. What power armor variant do the Grey Knights wear and why do they wear it?

Because they can?

The shrouding effects Grey knights I know. But what about their dreads and stuff like any scouts with the army?
PostPosted: Fri Aug 04, 2006 9:33 pm

I'm more curious about the actual variant... Approximately when was it worn/created? Is it pre-Heresy? (Obviously the Chapter is post-heresy, but being based in the Sol system and having a bit of a teacher's pet bent, it seems like they might have access to t3h ph4t l3wts.)

The Grey Knights use basic power armour. Any differences are purely cosmetic, but their armour is post-heresy, along with the chapter itself.
The Terminator armour that they wear is the same as all other suits, except for heraldry and other trinkets symbolic of faith.

So the reason I ask is that I want an excuse to use those wicked models, but I'm not all that interested in playing Daemonhunters. One of the thoughts I came up with was a Word Bearers killteam - with all their existing iconography and a little Chaos-ification, they'd make some sweet Word Bearers.

I was curious what "Mark" their armor was. It's definately not Mk.VI or Mk.VII, but not quite Mk.VIII either. I was hoping I was looking in the wrong direction -- that it would be pre- or during-Heresy armor, in which case the coincidence would be too good and I'd have to do it. whee
