Kortus chuckled aloud at all the sudden arrivals. "Oh Ho! More students who need a little catch-me-up, eh? Very well!" Kortus quickly demonstrated another Technoequip, this time an Aeroboot, by tapping once on its face. The Technoequip spran to life, a whirr of sliding pieces of seemingly-molted metal and light that rearranged themselves and formed a buzzing active Aeroboot. "Now, another important thing I ought to mention is this: Some technoequips, like this lil' beauty here, need to be deactivated in a slightly modified way. You wouldn't want to stick your fingers in there to double-tap the Technoring, and thus deactivate it, because you'd end up with a slightly messy Aeroboot, and no fingers. For items that cannot or should not be directly contacted, you place your hand a safe distance away from the item, and line the center of your palm up with the ring shape on the Technoring. Then, in a distinct and intentional gesture, tap the air twice. Your intention and Essence will carry the signal to the ring." Kortus demonstated, and the whirring gadget promptly stopped, broke into a myriad of swirling pieces which promptly swirled nitot the center of the ring and disappeared. "Clearly, this method can be used by the focused and deliberate Empyrean on any technoring, but for those that pose a physical danger to touching - such as the Jet Packs or MagneBoots - this method is preferred." Kortus stroked his goatee thoughtfully and smiled amiably at the gathered students. "I think that's about it for Crafting. We've got just enoguh time for a few Questions, if you've got any." Kortus said smilingly, looking from the tall grandfather clock near the door and back to his students.

Kallisto listened intently, bobbing her head as the professor explained things. It all made sense and she was glad for that. It made her feel more accomplished, especially after the fog of confusion that Math had been. As the other students slipped in, she looked up briefly and caught sight of Yambati. Flashing a smile at him, she turned back to the professor, "Are we limited to the amount of regular technorings that we currently possess or is there a way to get more? And which rings should alchemical potions be stored in? Regular?"
It was obvious she was greatly enjoying this catch-up session. She had Cecil bound to a techno equip at long last and the things being taught didn't confuse her at all.
Astaroth looked on, gaze mildly interested. These were tools, as far as he was concerned. A blend of magic and technology that was appreciable. However, he felt no love for the subject and indeed found himself slightly bored.
Ever a dutiful student, he paid close attention to get the general idea but realized would not be prone to following up on such a subject. He could store tomes and familiars and other such objects in them - that was enough for him.
After a moment of thought he decided he might look up the magic involved in them but the technological aspect...? No.
And so, crossing his arms, he waited for any final bits to be added.
Daggart looked on, fascinated. He didn't understand why you would reach in anyways - just because it was dangerous didn't mean it would automatically hurt you.... His frown quickly faded and he smiled once more.
He would like to talk to Kortus about this more. He wanted to know you made the -rings- themselves and the schematics and everything! His eyes were wide as he listened, absorbing the information as it was demonstrated.
He doubted he'd forget this any time soon.

He met her smile with a nod, siddling up closer since she knew he was there. He took note of her question, jotting it down along with Kortus's other explanations.
He'd never really thought about techno-equips before, but now that he saw them in action, he was interested. He would definitely ask Kallisto to go over her notes with him after the class officially ended.

Kortus nodded sagely as Kallisto asked her question. "Well, each Empyrean is given a number of Technorings "slots" or locations on their person to start out. At Stage Zero if you are given more Technorings from Professors or students, you are not allowed to attach additional rings, but you may swap out the new rings for old unassigned or assigned rings. However, should you find yourself wanting more slots as you trascend, they can be purchased at Technomagus Majore, Metro's shop." Kortus smiled. "As for potions... If the potion is completed, and ready for use, you can assign it to any free regular Technoring. If however, you are working on a time-sensitive forumla, and for whatever reason are called away from your task, you can seal these into an open Moded Technoequip temporarily uuntil you're able to continue your work. This however, should not be attempted on your own until Stage One or higher." Kortus grinned happily, clearly enjoying such interaction with his students. For allt he man's size and muscle, he was really quite kind and charming, and not so intimidating at all.

Kallisto nodded, it made sense, "Okay! Is there a maximum amount of mass a technoring can hold? Or are there rings with different mass capabilities?" She was imagining shoving a work table into a ring only to release it at a later date but she doubted it would be that simple.

Regulus leaned forward, listening intently. The demonstration with the Aeroboot in particular had fascinated him; it was his first exposure to an active Techno-equip, and the way that the construct had leapt to life and formed itself when called into action was no less than incredible, as far as he was concerned. He had made mental notes on Kortus' directions on how to de-activate items from a distance . . . he had even practiced the motion himself, although he hoped now that no-one had seen him do so.
He glanced somewhat enviously at Riaan, who was busy scrawling notes in his seemingly-inexhaustible way. If only I had thought to bring my own writing supplies . . .
Sighing quietly, he turned his attention to Kallisto's query and Kortus' reply. This was pertinent, at least in his opinion, and as Kortus explained the set locations of techno-rings he was reminded of the prize that he had just received. So, then, he would have to remove one of his existing indigo rings if he wished to make use of it? Regulus scowled faintly. This would not do. His own 'slots,' as the Professor had called them, were arranged across his body symmetrically; he could not bring himself to break the balance of color and design by . . .
. . . wait, I've one exception! His hand went to his head, seemingly to straighten his hair, but his fingers brushed also over the decorative band holding his long ponytail. I could set the mis-matched one into my hair ornament . . . it would not contrast so readily there, for it is solitary, and has no match of its own. But he knew nothing of the removal or replacement of techno-rings. Perhaps he was better off to leave it well alone.
"Hmn." He would think it over later. For the time being, he was content with the rings that he had received at Bonding, and furthermore, Kallisto was now asking a second question of the teacher, this time inquiring as to the maximum load capacity of a techno-ring. Another excellent question! Regulus was coming to develop a grudging respect for the russet-haired Sanguine. He grimaced and leaned forward to listen again, hoping that he would be able to remember all of this by the time he had returned to his dormitory.
This will certainly teach me to leave my quarters without quill, ink, and parchment, he griped in silence.

"A good Techno Magus does not need to worry about sizes of items. My own Mentor, for instance, once assigned a Deumus to a Certed Technoring... Larger objects do take larger to fuse, and to assemble and put away. They also cause havoc to the architecture when they're released in small spaces, and some of the pieces can get seperated from the main mass if you aren't in an open or large enough area. What precisely did you have in mind, young one?" Kortus leaned forward, his milky eyes glimmering interestedly.

Kallisto nodded but when faced with the question, she sat back to think abot her answer. Pursing her lips, she bobbed her head after a moment, "Well, it's just during the Duel not too long ago, Dragons were summoned and they were huge.... it just seemed like it was an awful lot of, well, stuff to cram to a technoring."
"I'd probably just use it for cooking or alchemy... I like those." She bobbed her head once more, smiling at the Professor.

"Ahhhh." Kortus said, nodding with a knowing smile. "Golems are an interesting thing... Of course they require Certed Technorings, but you'd be amazed at how small they cram up and yet still pack a vicious punch, eh?" Kortus sat back and lifted his pipe back up to his mouth. Hrm... it had gone out. He fumbled his pockets with another hand for matches. "Are there any more questions, or shall I leave you in the talented care of Professora Tryna?"

Riaan bit his lower lip and snaked his hand into the air. "Ah . . . lord Professor Kortus, Sir? May I be so bold as to make just one more inquiry?" He knew he'd had the floor once already this session, but the boy was full of questions, and one of them in particular he'd been bursting to voice since stepping out of his dormitory that very first evening. He knew from his meagre amounts of study on the subject that Kortus was the only Professor that he could ask, and while it was sheer auspicious providence that he'd stumbled upon this miniature class tonight, it had taken him all evening to muster the nerve to broach the question.

Regulus fought the urge to roll his eyes. Riaan and all of his incessant questions! The Phlegm possessed an admirable intellect at times, young as he was, he could not deny that fact, but even on his very best of days, the child was so very painfully exuberant.
He folded his arms and leaned back in his seat, hoping that for once, Riaan would manage to make it short, sweet, and to the point . . .

He hated to delay the Cooking session; Tryna's subjects of Alchemy and its particulars had readily fascinated him when he had read over the course description, and he could hardly wait to take notes on all that it offered his Academic mind. Certainly he would be able to further slake his thirst for knowledge with such a topic!
Still, though . . . Riaan stood, and fidgeted, his fingers reflexively tracing the Ouroboros emblazoned upon his book as he spoke. "I have read that requests to have a techno-ring equipped with an item must take place here, in the Teachers' Lounge, else during the time in which your class is in session . . ." Here he laughed nervously, "Though t'would seem that tonight those times have become one and the same!" He smiled shyly, lifting his hand finally from the Koppa to brush his pale bangs back from his eyes, so as to gaze up at Kortus without obstruction.
"But I have also read that an Empyrean must first grow strong before his or her techno-rings can be equipped, and there is also a mention made that such equips may be dependent upon his or her tasks or position . . ." Riaan paused. "I should like to know, Sir, how long must a Stage Zero study, how strong must he or she become before becoming eligible to request the equip of a mundane, non-magical item to a 'ring?" He fingered the binding of his book uncertainly. "I ask this, sir, because I should like to someday have my writing-quill bound to a one of my techno-rings. I am soon to seek apprenticeship, and that for which I am applying will have me scrambling for my quill quite continuously!" Riaan held up the white quill in question, smiling brightly at the very thought of the extent of writing and notation to come. "I have thought that, with regard to such an apprenticeship, having my quill always close at hand and ready for immediate use would prove quite useful indeed. It is no difficulty to transport my inkwell, or my book, but a quill is so very delicate and I -" He blushed, embarrassed, but continued, "I fear that I've already ruined three of them by having sat on them."
He shook his head, as if trying to dislodge the colour staining his cheeks, and smiled up at the Professor. "I would merely like to know how accomplished I ought to make myself before returning to seek such an equipping." Riaan bowed his head and stepped back, completing his inquiry.

Kortus burst into rolling laughter before he could stop himself. He beamed at the little Phlegm, and even went so far as to reach out one of his hands and ruffle the boy's pale hair. "Mundane items have no requirements, Youngling." Kortus replied, his voice still warm and exuberant with mirth. "Let's that the dainty thing, and the ring you wish to have it stored in, then..." Kortus opened his massive hand to receive the two items, but continued speaking nonetheless. "The limitations are for some of the more dangerous items. For instance, the 2nd and 3rd graded Castor Shells are restricted to Stage Two and Threes respectively. Others, while their possession is not restricted, where, how or when they are used might be. For instance, that Aeroboot is not to be used within the school hallways, because of the danger of accidentally hitting a student and lacerating him or her. Does that make sense, Riaan?" Kortus smiled.

Lior had been sort of lingering in the back during the entire lesson, not quite in the mood to ask questions or leap into the conversation. Rather, he just stood back and listened, writing down all the snippets he could, hoping to get things a little more solidified when he had the time to sit down and sort through it all later with Ubel. The Sanguine looked over his notebook and listened to the conversation avidly, smiling a little and nodding slightly on occasion, before returning to writing. How awkward he felt... but speaking just wasn't in his mood just yet. But what an interesting question had just been posed... He looked up and stopped his writing to listen, tilting his head slightly.

Kallisto looked on, eyes widening as she suddenly remembered she had several things she should like attached to techno-equips. "Professor?" She nodded her apologies to Riaan as she continued, "I have a castor gun, goggles with infrared, Jadeite, and hoverboots that I should like bound technorings as well. Am I able to have that done? They're not really mundane items...." Kallisto had amassed several interesting objects in her time at Empyrean City and Riaan had just reminded her of that.
She smiled hopefully.
