Where is our School Teacher anyways? Should he not be here instructing young modests?

Aw, pockleberries, you. It's raining. Let the nice man be. Besides, I think I just offered a nice lesson.

First...whats a pickleberry? Are they some sort of Fruit? And more importantly, are they good on pie?
Second I never said your lesson was not good, but my brother started this school house and continues to assure me he is infact teaching lessons. This is a case of "It's not you, it's not me, it's my no good brother."

Pockleberry. And I bet they'd be good with pie, if you could get the spikes out of the inside.

Your brother, on occasion, has a hard time of things. It requires some patience.

Though its halls have been silent for many a day, now, it seems that someone has returned to the schoolhouse: specifically, a barefoot young woman in foreign clothes. Either nobody locks the doors around here or someone else let her in. She is writing on the blackboard:

I will not casually mention secret societies in public threads without heavy obfuscation.
I will not casually mention secret societies in public threads without heavy obfuscation.
I will not casually mention secret societies in public threads without heavy obfuscation.
I will not casually mention secret societies in public threads without heavy obfuscation.

The board is half-covered in slightly loose script somewhere between print and cursive. A book entitled Thread Necromancy: Valid Option or Abomination Unto Mod? has been left open on a nearby desk, as well. Whyever she's here, and whatever she did to earn her punishment by repetition, she's clearly been thinking about her task.

Katane peeks into a school window, curious as to why the lights are on inside.

"Someone is here?"

She glances at her pocket watch and scratches her head absentmindedly.

"Come to think of it, I should be here. Been neglecting my studies...."

The chalkboard author pauses at the voice and glances over her shoulder.

"Oh! I, ah, I hope I didn't disturb any ongoing lessons...I think I've made a mistake in my search to get right with Mod, and am serving penance. I guess it was silly of me to assume it would be so easy."

She brightens.

"I'm Teruworq, nice to meet you. Are you a student or a teacher here?"

"Um, hi. I guess I'm a student. Here anyways. I mean, I study here, but it's not really......."

Katane stopped and took a deep breath. Small talk was not her thing.

"My name is Katane. I know almost everyone around here, so you must be new. Or really old. Not that you're old, I mean, but some people joined a long time ago and then left and sometimes they come back and..... yeah. Uh, I'm the local historian. What are you? I mean, how are you? Mod, I need some sleep....."

Self-pennance? Goodness, doesn't that make your palms hairy or something?

"I'm new, yes. Fresh out of Aekea. I've only just joined the Church. Well, officially...I think part of me has always believed in Mods. I believe in the Admin Lanzer, just like everyone else, of course, but it always seemed strange that he wouldn't deem others worthy to be his helpers. It's such a big world, after all. I think they're an important part of the journey towards the era of Beta."

Teruworq paused, erasing the board as she did so.

"I've heard there are people who don't believe in Mods. Why would that be so? I...I just can't fathom something like that."

Katane sighed, and shrugged her shoulders.

"I don't understand it myself. That they exist is plain fact. That they are helpful is apparent. It seems obvious to me that they are the chosen of Lanzer to watch over and assist us. Yet there are still those that deny."

Katane suddenly smiled, and started helping Teruworq clear the board.

"I myself never realized how hard the mods work until I got my own guild. People who can do that well deserve apreciation."
