On my school's drumline there are three girls and six boys so they get hit on a lot.

I am the only female percussionist in my school's advanced band. It's kind of odd, considering last year, in my beginning band there were four female and three male percussionists.
The cool thing is, the guys don't actually bother me that much. In fact, we don't really talk to each other. sweatdrop
At the beginning of the year, my band director was all, "I know it's kind of high pressure, being the only girl in a group of guys, so I want you to tell me if they do anything funny." And I'm like, "What are you expecting them to do?" but they're actually pretty cool.

i'm another one of those "only girl in the trombone section" people. i'm also the only girl in low brass. apparently i'm the first girl in five or six years... and it doesn't look like any new ones are coming up from the middle school any time soon. lol. woe is me.

Dude, I'm totally with you! I'm the only girl in the trombones, so I'm stuck with the most perverted section in the band. TO be honest, though, I don't hate it. No offense to anyone, but I've seen how snippy the clarinets and flutes can be (in my band, anyway,) and I pretty much learned that I'd rather hand around guys. Plus, it makes you get beastly skills you don't get anywhere else. Like, I can kill anyone at an arm wrestling match, or Tennis! (That hand slapping game? Oh yeah. I've bled before and still won because of my section.)
But being a girl has advantages like, it's really easy to tease the rest of your section, but you can get away with it, because they all love it (But hate it) at the same time! You ever see a Boner pop a REAL boner? Funniest thing in the world. Especially when you're supposed to play then! No, that doesn't make me a whore. Shut up. >3>;;

I just think it's funny that, in the Tuba section, the most take charge guy was a girl.

haha. I don't mind. I'm their "sister" in the trombone section. It's just funny because we call ourselves the Boner Squad. xD and we have a Boner Squad ritual thing before every halftime show too. It's fun. I love my "brothers". Haha.

DISCO LIGHTS i wish i could say i was that lucky but there are only 3 f horns in our concert band- two girls and one guy.... wink hehe! i guess u could say i got lucky. i'm the only girl french horn outta 4 in the entire school.(my school has a very small band program. theres 40 or so in wind ensembleh and like maybe 15-20 kids in symphonic.) they even gave me the "lady horn" that all the other girl horn players used in th past. sweatdrop
in my old school, i played tenor and i was teh only girl outta the tenor-bari section 4 marching 3nodding
and i was teh only girl bass clarinet there too. and for all-county honors i was th only girl bass last year... crying
yeah so i realy relate to this forum.. i seem to be surrounded by men! ugh testosteroneeeeee!!! haha xd
but all in all u start growing fond of all the guys in your section and begin to think of them as brothers..i know i do. biggrin

Only girl in our eight-man drumline. Oddly enough, our pit is all girls. I don't care, though. I love it. the guys are all really nice, and we have a lot of fun. They're kind of immature, but I don't care, because I am, too.

As per just about everyone else in the thread, I'm the only girl in percussion.
xD
I have a friend who's the only female tenor. She can sing lower than every boy in our choir! xDDD

I'm the only girl in my section. Alto sax. 4 other people in my section, all guys, and all kind of annoying. Some more than the others. Like the SR, he is really annoying, then there is the other Sophomore and the 2 freshmen. We have no JR saxes. And then, I have a friend in the 8th grade band and she told me there is only one Sax in their band and that one is a guy too! I'm so annoyed about that! All my friends are in different sections and it annoys me because during marching season I can't talk to anyone because they are too far away. One is in drum line, one is in the flute section (which is awesome during concert season cause she normally sits right in front of me) and then one in the clarinet section! All too far away to talk to!
