Alifax ran a hand through his hair as he finished up with the evidence, taking the postcard from the table and holding it up to the light. Sure, Regina might want accusations already, but other than Lorata's glass and something he thought frankly irrelevant to the main case, he had no idea what might have transpired. So instead he turned to the women. "Do either of you have any idea how it transpired?" he asked, having passed his handwrting samples into Eostre's capable hands.

He'd need those back, in a bit, but none of them were relevant when looking at this, as far as he could tell.

The typed-looking handwriting on the threatening postcard does not match the rounded, small handwriting on the peculiar postcard. They do appear to have been purchased as a part of the same set, however.

xxxxCentral Hivestem || Rumpus Block
While Kursha glanced over the book, Hazmas to the opportunity to take out his notes and scribbled down what he could of the clues he saw the orange blood show Kursha. His notes were partly crumpled when the teen passed his book back, obviously put off at having to do actual book work to gain the clue. He made a face as Kursha tromped off toward the blue blood's group where he'd seen Chiara at earlier and shook his head.

"I don't think we'll be getting any more info outa him," he said to the orange blood and slipped the book and papers back into his jacket. "I think I'm gonna walk around too." He gave the orange blood a friendly shrug and paused when he heard the Queen's announcement.

'Better make this quick,' he thought and swallowed hard. Would Chiara forgive him for losing the evidence, and even more, for not sticking with her to figure out their own clues? Swallowing the uncomfortable lump in his throat, Hazmas slowly made his way over to Chiara and the currently-not-so-menacing purple blooded issue with legs.

'Okay, ignore the talking issue, go straight to Chiara... Hopefully she's not too mad...'

A scrap of doubt pecked at the green blood's stomach as he approached the blueblood. Anything that depended on the word hopefully didn't usually turn out well for him. He'd hoped either Lorata or Alifax had seen his pill, but neither had. He'd hoped that by questioning Gerard, that the rumor might be put to rest. Pop on top of it that he'd never really apologized to anyone before, discounting Kursha since that was less of an apology and more of a dispelling of poorly founded fears, and suddenly he wasn't sure of himself.

Taking a quiet breath, Hazmas drew closer to Chiara and cleared his throat.

"Hey, uh, Chiara," he ventured tentatively, "I... wanted to apologize for wigging out earlier. I lost a piece of evidence and I thought Lorata might of grabbed it since I had it before you left the training block but not after I did. And since Lorata and Alifax were there when I left I figured they might've picked it up or something, but they didn't have it."

He tried not to look at Eridia as he made this painful confession. Hazmas didn't know if Chiara knew, but he knew Eridia knew about how he'd always prized himself on getting stuff, being the best kid scrounger around, but admitting he'd lost something was almost the same as admitting to being a two-bit pickpocket. Painful as it was, if Chiara was willing to still be friends with him, Hazmas was more than willing to bear it.

"But I did get these from them to make up for it," he said, lifting his gaze as he pulled out his notes and clues and held them out for her to take. "If... If you still want them, I mean."

Hazmas's Notes

Dining Block Observations:
- You extract a small, oblong object from the chair cushions. On first glance it appears to be a breath freshener, but looking closely you identify the little white object as a large pill. It's a high dosage.

-A simple, small piece of stock paper. Upon closer inspection, it appears to be a postcard. The address information has been removed. The image on the back is of Civisect City, and the message reads: "Chittentown has suffered a major drought - I don't know if it's affected you at all. The Queen sent out the summons for trolls to assist. Any old troll. Makes you wonder about what she thinks about the military. I'm doing well. I hope you are also faring well. Ewema is worried about you! I'll send another message through the usual next time. - <>"

-Underneath the table, you find some small dirty footprints, complete with toe and heel strikes. There is quite the trail of dirty markings leading south through the hive.

Library Observations:
- A tile from the floor has apparently been lifted and replaced, with something small cut out from its underside. Only a few small wires remain.

-A collection of military publications. One such publication remarks on Shishi Schrad's latest recruiting sucess, but headlines with the up and coming Officer Mapuye Puchen quickly rising through the ranks.

Armory Observations:

-One of the guns in this case looks much too large for the cavity it fills. You pull it out and sure enough, a much smaller gun is supposed to be there and appears to be missing.

Trophy Block Observations:

-(The Taxidermied High Art was found torn nearly in two) A tag sits near the rump of the creature that reads "From your friend Epratt".

Suspect Investigations:

Tigwyn:

- “I get the feeling everyone’s on edge for their own a**, if you get my drift,” he noted. “Everyone’s suspect. No trust. Lots of skeletons – just the troll way, yea? This is a political “clean-up” party s’far as I’m concerned. I’m fine, though. I ain’t got a motive. I don’t know these blokes. Best make sour-punch outta sour fruit.”

- (When questioned about the bookshelf) “There was a collection of recent military reports around here that I wanna look at. Big important fights, big deaths, surprising victories. Erilyn was a part of it before they quit, then the rest all blew up or somethin’. That’s why I think they held on to it -- was their unit. I wanted to take a peek. Maybe I misplaced it…”

Schrad:

"Maybe. Everyone's hear for a reason, aren't they? You'd best remember that - each troll here's got something on their mind apart from party poppers."

"Me - I'm curious about our 'gracious host'. What's this cage doing in their basement? Did you notice that after the old glubber was dragged off, they slipped out of the room for a bit? I bet you didn't."

(When asked about Puchen) "...whatever she's doing here, her second in command back from when she had one, Fluffl, is in deep trouble. I hear he's going to be culled if she doesn't play nice." Her smile brightened a little more.

(when asked about Tigwyn) "But I bet you he's like the rest of everyone here. Relics from the last empress to bite the dust. And he might be here to finish up some old business."

"Actually, you might be fine. But I know that Puchen's got her eye on me, and I bet you anything that's why she was sent here. I've got a long night ahead of me."

(When questioned about Comedi) "...him and the dead seadweller arguing over something. I couldn't get close enough to pick out what, Awassi was standing in the doorway."

Comedi:

- "Once a new empress takes the throne, the first thing they do is remove the old dead wood. The military I served in is a different world from what Schrad and Puchen are in now. Those of us who left, myself and Awassi included, were smart enough to get out when murmurs of change first reached our spongeclots."

- "I have also not seen any signs of the maid this hive clearly needs. If you spy Awassi, let them know that one of their guests made a mess in this room. I have, however, cleaned it up."

- "However, I would advise you to not touch that mother ******** s**t a** faygo in the dining room. It seems to have passed it's expiry date."

Awassi:
- "I suspect Epratt was not the true target - and that this has all gone horribly wrong. I'm worried that my dear Deburu is the true target. Could you please keep an eye out for him? I worry they'll try again before the party's over."

- "Expecially when the other half keeps pinching beetles from anywhere they feel like it. Not that I'd say anything."

Crumpled copies of Adamaz's notes

Shelf somewhere, possibly basement:

- In addition to various hive objects, there is a box of warm-hued candy sitting next to an unopened pack of soda. It has been split open at the top neatly, and contains orange and red candies. Maybe this is where those candy wrappers mentioned on the wall are from?

Nutrition Block:

- Some ground up meat has been stored strangely in the thermal hull shelf. It's portioned into two equal parts on two separate plates - there's a sticky-note attached to the wrapping covering the meat that denotes tomorrow's date. Maybe an expiration date? Perhaps in anticipation for a guest the day after the party?

Library:

- The filing cabinet was definitely opened before I got to it, but now it's jammed shut. Fortunately, one of the papers appears to have been caught in the door and escaped the shredder. I ripped the half of it I could access and noticed that it's a military report. Shishi Schrad was the leading officer of the most recent of the Halberd Unit. Weird place for a military report, inside a pop-star's house.

- I found a returned RSVP from Gerard. The majority of the letter is a long, gushing show of gratitude and enthusiasm in swirly purple glitter font. He demands to know the guest list and counter-invites Awassi to one of his parties taking place in a few days. I don't know why something hand-written by Gerard could be important, but...

- In the investigation flurry, someone dropped a file between the computer and the husktop. It is a plain, now empty file labeled with green pen: "Correspondence and Finance". A stray sticky note has stuck to the file that reads "zip 2 pixie 4 decoding. PI???"

Eridia needed to drink something after talking so much about her assumptions. Her father passed her a cup of faygo, to her disgust, she decided to drink it. After all, she couldn't possibly throw her cookies again now could she? Then a familiar face approached them, well, Chiara for the most part. Upon hearing the greenblood's apology, Eridia was shocked he had lost something. The oh-so great seeker of junk lost something.

She was taken aback by the other's words while she drank and sputtered the drink. "Oh my Goooooooog! You lost some evidence?" She laughed, throwing the cup back and tried not to roll off of her seat. Eridia regained some of her composure when he presented some clues. "Awwww! Look Chiiii! He brought somethings to shaaaare!" Gladly, the highblood tooook the notes and read them.

"I'd leeeeave if I were you! Wouldn't wanna end up it the cull circle!" She laughed some more, holding her sides. She did had to thank him for unintentionally cheering her up.

Then something caught her eye:
- (When questioned about the bookshelf) “There was a collection of recent military reports around here that I wanna look at. Big important fights, big deaths, surprising victories. Erilyn was a part of it before they quit, then the rest all blew up or somethin’. That’s why I think they held on to it -- was their unit. I wanted to take a peek. Maybe I misplaced it…”

"Was he referring to the Halberd Unit? Hey, know if anyone found anything respect that Unit?"

      [+] Kursha Vidari

As Leeroi's redblooded companion restrained him, a polite tealblood spoke up, addressing him with title and everything. Maybe not all of the children invited were horrible little gremlins. “Rainbowdrinker, huh?” he echoed. “I'd be curious what kind of evidence you have for that. Kinda thinking he might be dead, myself. Haven't seen him in a while and then of course... there's this.” he whipped out a bloody cloth napkin. “Kinda looks like his colour, doesn't it? If that is his colour. In any case...” He tossed down the rest his findings (as well as those he had borrowed from Sarcel) onto the seat of an empty chair: a ripped piece of paper, Tigwyn's RSVP, a black notebook, and a postcard.

“Most I've come up with is that someone here other than me had inside information on the initiative. If there's a sympathiser...” His voice trailed. No point in saying what was obvious. He pulled the tracking chip out of his pocket and held it up between two fingers. “Other than that, I found this in the garbage disposal, so someone's trying to clear out evidence. Maybe the Major.” He shrugged.

Look, here was the thing. Aconan might have been offended at being called a Gerard fangirl, but she had the sneaking suspicion that that was the correct term when applied to the Commander. Commander Kursha. Wistful sigh. Caught up in this startstruckness, Aconan stayed silent - at least until Kursha asked for evidence. Standing a little straighter, she replied.

"Most of the evidence is cicrumstancial, Commander Kursha Sir! All the same, we appear to mostly be working off rumor and conjecture for this trial anyway."

Aconan's face soured a little at that.

"The appropriate evidence notes are..."

It took her a second, but she pointed out the relevant notes , and also passed him the purse.

"....this is also a purple hemo-typed purse with vials of blood in. Interestingly it does not match Gerard's professed hue of blood, but this could be intentional - purple enough that he could pass it off as his own, or if it were discovered, could pass it off as someone else's."

Aconan nodded when he mentioned the Initiative.

"Interestingly, Gerard almost knew the name of the Initiative - called it the Bird Initiative? He suspected that a sympathiser had been harboring the mutants. And Awassi is known to let lowbloods mooch off her."

"Yes, I have been fantastic! It has been quite some time, hasn't it!" She started excitedly, but Azrael had more serious plans than dabbling into casual chit-chat. "Oh, okay." She said, putting on a polite smile and clasping her hands in front of her as she listened to Azrael speak. What the grub was he talking about? Regardless, she nodded along, looking up to the ceiling in thought as she pretended to understand his words. "Right, right, mhm. Good. Yes." Then, a dark redblood appeared to compare evidence. Aha!

"Alifax, hello!" Elidae chirped, leaning on the table and giving him a somewhat exaggerated wink. "Hope your gift worked out." She had seen Alifax around in the same place they were currently situated in the last couple hours, but hadn't been able to speak to him directly. She did note that most of the notes on the wall were in his blood color. So much information. So diligent. What a great guy.

"Leeroi's table?" She echoed, blinking at Azrael. The blueblood seemed preoccupied with talking to Alifax about important things related to the murder she assumed, as was the two highblood girls. Well, she gave them all the goods she had, nothing she could really do with them. Slinking away with a tight-lipped smile, Elidae turned to get a better look at who was around, doing what. There were clusters of trolls about, some she didn't recognize, but others... oh yes. There was Leeroi, and some other young trolls around a table but then WAS THAT HEMERA.

Sprinting, Elidae made a beeline straight towards her and practically jumped into the tealblood, throwing her arms around her and giving her cheek a huge, friendly kiss. She didn't even bother addressing anyone else in the moment. "MERA!!" Elidae pulled Hemera out of her grasp, but kept a firm hold on her shoulders, looking her over with glee. She put a hand to the tealblood's cheek and immediately began to babble. "You're here?! Its so good to see you! Oh my gosh, you look lovely tonight. I love your dress, I love your hair. Such a shame I didn't find you before this fiasco. How have you been? Whatchu got here? Lots of clues? Who's your friend?" Elidae turned to give the young greenblood a wide smile, but was caught off guard by a much bigger, taller greenblood. "Whaa! Hello, Kursha! Oh, whoops, I mean Commander. Hahah! You guys solvin' the mystery?"

Her eyes flickered to a familiar, patched up blueblood and her bilesack flipped in a familiar way. She'd have to say something to him eventually.

The moment Kursha strode up to the table, Leeroi had a vice grip on Psykgi's wrist. The a**... He was waltzing around pretending like nothing had even happened. Leeroi was totally still, pounced and ready to attack, his moirail and his mission the only two things separating him from attacking the captain again. Carefully, he moved to guard his notes and his clues. The greenblood was not going to take any credit for his findings if he had anything to do with it. Then he stopped, an idea coming to him. He loosened his grip on Psykgi, stepping forward as if challenging him.

"I'm surprised, Captain Vidari," He said, looking up with a sneer, "You need my help?" He gestured condescendingly at him. "Well isn't that funny. I thought you were some sort of master hunter or something. Shouldn't you have tracked down the murderer by now?" Leeroi squinted, raising an eyebrow at him. "Maybe you're hiding something, too?" He turned slightly to the side, pausing for emphasis.

"Or did you waste the rest your time fixing your leg?" He jabbed, smiling to show off his teeth. In his little speech, he hadn't even noticed Elidae approach. No, he had to keep all of his attention trained on Kursha. He wasn't stupid enough to turn his back to him.

Tamiya racked her brain and suddenly an idea emerged. She fetched a few stray chalk pieces (no perfect hemotypes, but close enough - and one disgustingly light yellow hue, to boot) and began to draw a map.

"Perhaps this will help us... Figure out the ******** miraculous timeline that has us all stumped. Perhaps then we can see the real villain through the smoke screen. Something tells me... Other s**t has been crapped tonight. We must focus on the origin. Rid ourselves of the twirling acrobats around the ringmaster and focus on the commander themselves."

She finished. Her handwriting was not as precise as it usually was due to using the chalk, but her lines were handy enough. She stepped back to look at it, inviting any other trolls in.

Chiara looked over the pieces of information Eridia handed over. She tried really hard to care. She even picked up the photo and looked at it. "Didn't someone find some blue blood around the party? Wonder if its that guy's..." The blueblood herself mused. Chiara listened to Eridia's comment and brightened up. Having someone else who might have even a smidgen of an idea what they were doing cheered her up. "Yeah, good idea." Chiara responded.

Then Hazmas showed up. He looked so shy and nervous. Chiara listened to his apology, stony faced and silent. She was still upset about Lorata. Chiara took a few breaths, calming herself. He didn't mean to make her upset. It was all circumstances. Eridia forgave Chiara, shouldn't Chiara keep the feeling going? Chiara melted a little. "Yeah... Of course i forgive you." Then she crossed her own arms in a defensive action, saying "It was unfortunate you got all caught up in the Lorata thing." Chiara looked Hazmas in the eyes, genuinely concerned for him. "Be careful around that fish, she is a piranha. She takes what she wants and don't give a glub about normal trolls like us." Chiara sat down with all their evidence, motioning everyone around her to join. "What does all this even mean..." Chiara picked up two pieces at random and looked them over.

Alifax followed the priestess with his eyes, and cleared his throats. "I have a bit of a list," he said. "Although I remain puzzled about some locations during the third hour."

After a pause he continued, reading out of his notebook and taking his eyes off his clues briefly. "Starting in the second hour. In the northern outgrowth were Rutven, Awassi, and Comedi, who were conversing in the dining block. In the eastern outgrowth was Puchen, who was in the armory. In the western outgrowth, the library contained Ioyana. The basement contained Schrad and two mutants. No celebrities or significant figures were in the southern outgrowth."

He paused, to allow Tamiya time to catch up. "In the third hour, Puchen was in the ballblock, and Rutven eventually made his way there after some discussion here. Comedi and Ioyana were present in the trophy block. Awassi was in the armory, in the eastern outgrowth. I have no information about the other two outgrowths."

He paused again. "In the fourth hour, I was able to travel throughout the hive. Puchen was in the nutrition block, and no significant guests were in the dining block. Schrad was in the armory, and Comedi was in the training block. Awassi was in the ballblock. Ioyana was in the library, and one mutant still remained in the basement. I did not see either Rutven or the yellowblooded mutant."

      [+] Kursha Vidari

“Considering it's got vials of blood, the owner might not want to be associated with it,” Kursha mused when Aconan passed him the purse. Plenty of trolls accessorised with other colours. As long as their blood hue was predominant, no one would think to question an accent colour. As far as he was concerned the purse could belong to anyone.

As he turned the bag over his in hands, the young greenblood continued her update. Interesting tidbit about Gerard and the Phoenix Initiative. It seemed everywhere he looked he saw a ghost of the organisation. It was a wonder they had survived as long as they had with so much information scattered around, especially in high political circles such as this. He had really cut it close, leaving when he had. However until he found the sympathiser, if one existed, there was no point in pursuing the subject. Unless they could get an inside source, he was the best source of information they had.

He opened his mouth to ask the greenblood where she had found the purse as he passed it back, when a bushy-haired yellowblood came into view. From the looks of things Elidae's anxiety had all but disappeared. He was about to say as much, but a familiar voice cut him off. The short-tempered, blueblooded gremlin had finally decided to speak up. Kursha's mouth twitched in the beginnings of a dangerous grin. His fingernails sank into the back of the recliner.

“Walking around so soon?” Kursha asked, matching Leeroi's jeering tone with feigned friendliness. “You've got a thick skull, I'll give you that.” Standing up straight, he took a step around the chair and towards the blueblood. He stuck his hands in his pockets.

“Fix my leg?” he echoed with mock surprise. Eyes wide, he blinked several times for the added effect. “And what would I need to do that for?” His grin returned, broader than ever. He was untouchable. The only mark that had any meaning, he had inflicted upon himself. Nothing could even come close to that.

“In any case,” he continued, waving away any protests the blueblood might have had. “I didn't come over here because I wanted to see you do another cute impersonation of railway pizza. To be honest, I want to be done here as much as you do. I figured between the two of us, we could figure this whole out and call it a night. So...” He withdrew a hand and extended it to the blueblood. “What do you say? Truce?”

He could always murder him later.

At long last Alifax followed Kursha to Leeroi's table, taking his items with him as he went. He doubted that Kursha had many samples that he lacked, but he placed the saccharine note and the red envelope on the table nonetheless. "More samples," he explained, shrugging.

His attention was caught by something else, though. There was a towel with teal blood on it...quickly he removed the items he'd found in the training block and placed them next to the towel. "Would you mind if I looked at this?" he asked. He knew what he suspected, but he couldn't be completely sure.

What: spent casing, broken glasses, stained towel
Where: are the glasses the same color as the shards of purple glass? is there powder on the casing matching the powder on the towel? are there traces of the teal blood on either of the other two items?
How: looking! putting them next to each other, etc. no bullet casings will touch alifax's mouthparts

The glasses are the same color of the shards of purple glass that you find. There is matching powder on the casing, and looking very, very hard and without utilizing any mouthparts you manage to find minute specks of teal blood on all the aforementioned evidence.
