"I doubt they would be willing to side with me over one of their own no matter how much they may or may not hate Shiva, but I suppose it is not too much to ask that we at least try and curve their mindset. Might be able to make an ally out of them." Riko said looking down at Elle thoughtfully. "Stranger things have happened." She commented thoughtfully. "However that is going off the hope that they don't try and kill us on sight."

"You, no. Mercy... perhaps." Siobahn shrugged. They could try. It would be a risk, though, like Riko was suggesting. A risk that could be for nothing. Siobahn could only assume Shiva was going to try to ambush them, but she couldn't help wondering if there was more to it than that. Hm, maybe.
"So," Siobahn began casually, like it was no big deal, like she wasn't about to potentially start a fight. "Now do you want to talk about what's upsetting you?"

"What do you think?" Riko asked making a face at Siobahn. "I don't know what is wrong with you guys, why you all want to sit around and talk about me, its really annoying.

Siobahn shrugged. "I don't want to talk about you so much as I want to talk with you," she said. "I know this will be hard for you to understand, but some of us get concerned about people in our lives. When they're not acting like themselves, we want to know why. I know Mercy's been concerned, too." But she wasn't going to force Riko to talk. Being able to read the girl's emotions helped to ease her curiosity some.

"You know the only part I actually don't get is why in the hel people go out of there way to try and talk with me, when I make it very clear that the last thing I want to do is talk about it." Riko said, getting annoyed. "I thought at first that maybe they just didn't know, but now I know that can't be the case because even you want to talk about it now." Riko mumbled.

Siobahn put up her hands, giving up. She didn't went to frustrate Riko so much that the vampire completely shut down. Riko's life was too long to spend alone, to spend distanced from people who give a damn, but if she wanted to go down that path, so be it. Siobahn could only do so much. "Mercy's going to make lunch for us, and we'll talk about our next steps then," she said, exiting the room.

"Let me tell you something I've heard once, somewhere on the internet Elle." Riko said once she was alone, having ran Siobahn off. "They say that Pain and Sadness are like the spices that make life exciting, and for a while all I could get were spices, but I'm better now, I'm finally getting better, but still all people want to talk about are the spices." Riko said, sounding frustrated now. "Can't get made at them, because the spice is the most interesting part of any dish, but it hurts for it to be the focal point of everything, when there is so much more to be talked about." Riko admitted, looking down at Elle, the little girl raised her hands and placed them firmly on Riko's cheek bones squeezing them individually and grinning, Riko sighed and returned the grin. "It's ok to be sad sometimes, and it is okay to not always want to talk about it. Sometimes you just need to get over things your own way.".

Mercy was standing outside the door as Riko was talking to Elle. Who would have thought that Riko would have such an... inspiring and poetic philosophy. After a few moments, Mercy popped out of her hiding place, waltzing in as if she hadn't just been eavesdropping. "I fixed the lock," she announced. She grinned at Elle, bending over a little to reach the infant's eye-level. "Now you and Mommy are gonna help me cook. How's that sound?" Elle squealed, although she didn't really understand, and Mercy looked at Riko. "No kid of mine is going to grow up cooking ramen noodles in a microwave because that's all she can do. We've got to start her young," she explained excitedly. "C'mon." She headed for the kitchen, beckoning for Riko (and Elle) to follow.

"I can only imagine how good of a job you did fixing that lock." Riko mused, she pretended that she was absently musing, but her comment was as direct as any of the others she had made in her life. Mercy didn't seem to be paying much attention to her though, she was talking with Elle, informing the little girl and Riko as well that they would be aiding her in cooking. Riko snorted at that, she'd be damned if she was going to run around the kitchen like some wannabe chef. She didn't even eat normal food most of the time. She rolled her eyes, and pretended not t be there until Mercy called for her to bring Elle into the kitchen. Sighing again, she stood, and followed.

Once in the kitchen, Mercy started pulling out pots and pans. "So, whataya wanna make, Elle?" she asked the infant, smiling over at her. After a moment's pause, Mercy grew very contemplative, and she nodded her head. "Hm, rare steak, rosemary French fries, and brussel sprouts. I think so, too." She began retrieving the items from the fridge. "So I've been thinking..." She was addressing Riko now. "When Elle starts dating, we're going to have to tag team it. Put the fear of God... and vampires and werewolves... into him or her."

"Won't have to." Riko said with an easy shrug, she was going to comment on Mercy trying to feed Elle so much, so early. The girl had teeth sure, and they were very sharp, and pierced skin with the utmost ease, but damn. "I'm raising her, she'll know to keep away from outright d**k heads, and when she finally does let someone in, she'll kick their a** herself if they mess around." Riko said confidently. "But I guess you could maul the corpse she leaves behind."

Mercy shot Riko an unimpressed glare. "Um, excuse me, we're raising her," she corrected as she began cutting potatoes into fry-sized slivers. "And I could maul the corpse? Riko, I ******** cook for a living! Why the hell would I eat some dumbass's rotting corpse?" Of course, it wasn't being called a cannibal that most upset Mercy. It was lunch for everyone, so once the pan was heated enough on the stove, Mercy started lowering in the many cuts of meat. "You're not the only one who's going to have wisdom to impart on our kid, Riko. I've got stuff to teach her, too."

"Yes, we are raising her together, but If we were to pick gender roles, I would be the father, and I think this is more up my ally anyway, and I think you would agree no?" Riko acquired, bouncing Elle up and down on her knee, she looked off to the side and tried to appear wholly uninterested when Mercy brought up the corpse mauling comment, and while the wolf ranted, Riko scratched the back of her ear absently. "All dogs have their feral days Mercy, no need to get all excited." Riko excused. "And of course you'll have wisdom to give her, just on different....less important.....things. Like- nevermind."

Although Mercy wasn't in agreement that Riko was the father figure in Elle's life, she only rolled her eyes and kept her mouth shut. Mercy was the breadwinner. Literally. As in, she actually made bread. But she decided to keep her mouth shut, deciding she valued her life more than she cared about being seen as a stereotypical man.
"Like what, Riko?" Mercy challenged, brows quirking in curiosity. "Like... how to seduce women? That's plenty important." She drizzled olive oil over the potatoes, sprinkled them with dried rosemary, then popped them in the oven. "Got you into my bed, didn't I."

"You say that, but as I remember it, you were drunkly begging me to screw you. Now you may call that seducing if you want, but I find something inherently wrong with you teaching our daughter to get drunk and throw herself at people, so I think we will leave all those lessons to me." Riko snorted. "Also, if I am correct, it was my smooth tongue that even lead us to that point."
