Nodding in agreement the hellhound rolled slightly so that he was laying on his side rather than his front. "True, but it could have been far worse for all involved," the canine said with a slow sigh as he closed his eyes in a relaxed manner, then opened one as he focused on the Liepard. "Seems the only other offer my trainer could find that even came close to decent at the time was a Slakoth. Not quite as disgusting but far less reliable." Daemon opened back up his other eye and continued to relax as his feline companion cooled herself off.
"What about you and your trainer?" he asked casually as he adjusted his head and neck to face her better while still trying to keep comfortable. "Have either of you had to deal with salvaging some wrecks who have been forced onto your team? Or have you had a bit better luck in terms of starting quality?" Admittedly, he didn't even consider the possibility that none of the Liepard's team members had been owned by a different trainer than the one they had now, but then, he was used to trainers having at least one Pokemon that had been traded to them. Especially considering his own situation.

Back to where he had been napping - not that it was difficult to find given how much foul slime was left behind - the large Pokemon settled itself down for a rest. Sure, he had been napping pretty much the whole time he was there, but that was kid stuff. Now he was getting ready for some real sleep! The kind where someone's out for hours and has dream after dream in the same sitting. And that was exactly the sort of sleep the Muk was planning on getting as he let himself drift back off to dreamland.

"Wh-hey! That's cheating! Shi-" Hakuren did a double take- Shion was already far away, arms pumping as he raced away. "Nobody beats me that easy!" Hakuren scrambled to his feet, pelting through the grass with eyes narrowed against the wind.
"Why...is that darned mouse...so...fast..." he huffed as he ran. Nevermind that...how was Shion so darned fast! Hakuren couldn't even catch up with him!
Shion slowed as he approached the structure and slapped a paw to it, claiming not-last-place over poor Hakuren. His ears twitched as he watched the fox come barreling in. He pointed up at the top, indicating a new race, and started pulling himself up a rope ladder towards a wooden platform partway up.
Lelanna padded around the water a bit, listening to Daemon, then swam over, laying in the shallow water to stay cool, but keep from having to stay afloat. "Slakoth... Now that's something I don't have experience with. I'm not even sure I could say I know what it is... but it doesn't sound impressive. I'll take your word for it," she remarked, her tail slowly swaying through the water, occasionally flicking water up as it breached the surface.
She tilted her head in consideration at his question, her feline gaze sliding off to the side in thought. She remained silent a moment, then looked back, shaking her head a bit. "Most of the pokemon Kail's been given have been well trained, although their personalities have varied. Personally, I haven't had much problem with them seeing as most were psychic types." A vulpine smirk crossed her face. "And as a fellow darktype, I'm sure you can understand why that poses no threat to me." She shrugged. "However, we've recently had to... start anew, so to speak, and I know Kail had some plans to get other pokemon, though I'm not sure what type, or how many. I'll be... curious to see what he's scrounged up while I'm here, training," she admitted, then tilted her head questioningly. "Speaking of... Did your trainer tell you just how long he planned to keep you here?"

Oh man, I bet... Luckily even one pokemon that high will be pretty effective against Viola, especially over level 20, since it will get the attack/defense boosts and all. Still, that should be... quite the adventure x3

Sunny Rose's 8 inch ball of energy
The Dedenne seemed to be just too fast for Hakuren, scuttling quickly to make it to the destination first, Shion following closely after. Luckily for the zorua, Sunny wasn't one for gloating or teasing losers. "Woo~ Tha' was lots o' fun!" she exclaimed, tail twitching behind her. She then noticed Shion pointing up at the structure. A few sparks jumped between her whiskers in excitement for the climb. "Ya ready to climb, Hakuren?" Sunny asked, waiting for some confirmation before jumping upon the structure, scuttling her way up it like it was a tree.
Pokemon: Dedenne Nickname: Sunny Gender: Female Nature: Jolly; Bursting with energy. Despite her tiny size, she is always up for a challenge against bigger foes. She's a lot more playful than violent, though. Lv. 6 HP: 60/60 Ability: Pickup - If a pokemon with this ability is in your active party, the post count for item bumps is reduced by 10. If it weren't for the way he was positioned Daemon would be nodding along as the dark blue Liepard explained the situation with her team. He did let out a chuckle when she mentioned having to work with psychics before. He personally considered himself lucky to not have to actually work with any of them, at least as far as he could recall, but he knew his trainer always seemed to dislike working with people that had too many of them. Unfortunately, that seemed to occur a bit too often from what the dual type could tell.
Huffing, the Houndoom shifted his position again so that he was back on his front. It was easier to look inquisitive that way, and he was definitely interested in what would prompt someone to start their training over. But, it seemed the Liepard had another question for him, one that bothered him more than a touch. "No... He did not," he answered, although he sounded more disappointed than anything. "He simply said that he would withdraw us when we were needed." The tip of the canine Pokemon's pointed tail ended up jabbing at the ground as he spoke.

Lelanna watched Daemon's reaction. She didn't quite miss the curiosity at her remark, but she was glad he didn't jump on the opportunity to question it. She didn't feel like trying to explain Kail's situation and honestly she wasn't sure she should. He wasn't exactly clear about informing them what their official status was, whether they were wanted, as deserters, or whether they had been dropped from the interest list, or what. Either way, it was probably best not to mention it again.
"I see... how disappointing," she remarked, frowning, "Not much better than my trainer, either. 'You're out of shape'.... Not the most flattering way to tell someone to train..." A rather annoyed look crossed her face, and she stood up, walking out of the water and sitting to sunbath and begin drying off. "Still, though, I suppose it's good of them to make sure we stay at the top of our game. It benefits all those involved... even if it's unpleasant to be dumped off and left to your own devices with expectations of getting stronger while they're away." She turned her head, scanning the area with a distant gaze. "I guess it's not the worst place to be left off, at least..." she remarked absently.

Hakuren felt a surge of hope. Thanks, Shion! He dipped his front down, wriggling his tail playfully in the air. "Gonna ask this time, eh?" he joked, grinning mischievously. "Go ahead, Sun!"
Hakuren crouched, gathering power in his legs, and jumped. He sailed into the air, streaking past Shion and towards the first platform. He took a moment to peek over the side cockily. Shion glanced up at Hakuren just above him and waved before going back to climbing.
It did not take too long to find the Cyndaquil, who was still accompanied by that bull-headed miltank. They seemed to be in some kind of brutish training area. Ren's nose crinkled a bit as he entered the area; it smelled filthy to him. Despite his distaste for the area, he pressed on towards the two as they continued to train themselves. They seemed to be conversing about something as he approached, though he didn't care to know what about. He stopped a few feet away from the two, sitting down quietly. The vulpix waited for a lull in the conversation before making his presence known. "Erm... Excuse me." he spoke up, looking at the cyndaquil in specific. This was rather nerve-wracking to him. He never ever apologized to another pokemon before - he's never felt the need to. After all, he was a show vulpix. When he won contests, he had the right to get all the attention and be pampered. There was no need to apologize to the losers, or even wish them better luck next time. They were just not worth his time in the first place.
Things were kind of different now, though, since he had run away from his trainer after having been tied up and left outside like some common growlithe. It had taken him a bit to realize, but especially now was not the time to make enemies with others, especially over a moment of misjudgement. Ren took a deep breath. "I just wanted to apologize for the way I behaved earlier. Even though I still do not understand why you would have even been near that absol in the first place, it was wrong of me step in the way I did." he told the cyndaquil, golden eyes fixed on her. He still thought she was an idiot for messing around with the brutish creature. Just when he thought he was done, his mouth opened once more. "I guess I kind of... how do you say? 'made an a** out of myself'? heh.... I'm also sorry you got hurt..." he added, chuckling a bit in an anxious manner. He wasn't sure how mad the two might be at him for what he did after all. He hoped they wouldn't decide his apology wasn't worth it and kick him around. It would be an unfair fight, considering the navy fox has never lifted a paw in battle before. Sure, he knew attacks, but he only understood how to apply them in contests.

Cyndaquil continued padding along on the treadmill as Sweet Belle talked, nodding to her words, and then giggling. She was keeping a steady jog now, so that she could continue talking, and wouldn't get out of breath, but would still be getting a good amount of exercise, especially with all her earlier sprinting. "Hehe, you know... you might actually get along with Kail pretty well," she remarked with amusement, "That kinda sounds a lot like how he feels about lying and stuff." Although, thinking about it, perhaps a shared opinion on lying of all things wasn't the best bases for an assumed amicability. Oh well. It was still a bit funny, especially considering Sweet Belle's earlier comments about being on Kail's team.

"But, you're right," she added after a moment, "I usually just don't say anything, if I don't think it's what they want to hear, I guess... I never really thought about it. I don't like to lie to people, though, not even if it's to save face or something. I don't think I've ever had to consider whether I would lie if it was life or death, though... I don't even know what kind of circumstances could land you in that kind of predicament..." She mused over the idea a moment, then looked over at Sweet Belle again.

Listening to her response on psychic pokemon, the little fire type gave a bit of a shrug, nodding her head to the side but not looking entirely convinced. "I dunno, it's not like I necessarily have an advantage over them... I just kinda... know what to expect, and the best ways to try and handle 'em, I guess," she remarked absently, "Not sure it's worth killing for... And it certainly wasn't fun to learn." She looked up, though, as Belle mentioned her experience with them, frowning and looking a little uncertain. "Just be careful, if you do get one as a teammate. A lot of them are decent.... but the ones that aren't... can be really hard to deal with. They're not always easy to recognize, either," she remarked, scrunching up her face, her little nose wiggling a bit in distaste at the thought.

The unpleasant expression turned into a slight frown as Sweet Belle explained her situation with the farm. That was something she'd never really... thought about. If she were a miltank, she had to admit, there was probably no way in heck she would let someone milk her. It was just so... awkward? But maybe it was more normal if you were actually used to the idea... She wasn't sure, but she shook her head a bit at the thought, looking up at Belle curiously. "... Your life seems pretty interesting," she commented, perhaps a bit out of the blue, "Sounds like you knew a lot of good people... but it must have been odd to be moved around... are you looking forward to having a trainer, like... an official one? That you'll be training with and everything?"

There wasn't much to say, at first, when Sweet Belle encouraged visiting Irene, not because the subject wasn't interesting, but because Cyndaquil had to take a moment to consider that. Would Kail go somewhere if she asked? Would he challenge the woman, or just go by? He was pretty passive, but he wanted his pokemon strong-- maybe he'd make them battle to test them, and from what the miltank said, it would be one hell of a test. The fire pokemon's stomach knotted a bit at the thought, uncertain whether she would be strong enough. That... that probably wouldn't be for a while, though. Hoenn... It wasn't a place she remembered Kail discussing in particular. Certainly they could get strong enough to at least stand a chance by then. Maybe.
"Heh, well, if we do battle her, I'll try and get Kail to mention you," she remarked, giving a bit of a smile, "Let her know that you referenced us there. I'm a little worried about battling her, though, from what you've described...." She trailed off, looking thoughtful, but turned her attention to Kyra when she came out, simply nodding to Belle's remark. That absol... it had taken up enough of their time. She didn't want to waste any more thinking about it, unless she had to.

She blinked, perking up and looking over when a voice suddenly piped up. She slowed her machine, frowning and looking less than enthused when she saw the vulpix from before, putting her machine on pause and hopping off. She bound over, sitting back on her haunches and looking at him through her naturally squinted eyes, clearly quite skeptical of what he might want. She blinked, her eyes actually becoming visible in surprise at first when he mentioned apologizing, only to narrow suspiciously once more. She wasn't really sure if he was doing this to avoid making enemies... or because he meant it, but she gave him the benefit of at least getting to say his piece.
She dropped her head a bit, clearly unimpressed at how he began, but at least managed not to interrupt, straightening a bit with her paws resting on her stomach, eying him warily at his almost nervous laugh. "... I'm not sure that really counts as an apology... I was near him to try and distract him from escaping, like he'd been trying to do..." She paused, clearly refraining from placing blame on Ren again, and then continued. "But... fine, I guess I accept her apology. I did hurt myself, y'know... when he had his claws piercing my stomach. I'm better now, though. It... I guess it was nice of you to come over and apologize," she managed, forcing herself to try and stay amicable, despite the circumstances. She really couldn't say she liked or respected the guy... but at least he had taken a step in the right direction. And she could at least give him credit for that.

Daemon couldn't help but give a few huffs of suppressed laughter at the Liepard's trainer's way of having her train. "That's... Actually not too far off from what our own trainer said. Although ours was more blunt than yours, if that's even possible." The hellhound shook his head a bit and huffed once more. "Then again, he knows how I get, so his comment on us becoming 'slow and fat' seems to have done its work for one of us," Daemon mused, then shifted a bit as he had a thoughtful expression on his face.
The comment on the area brought the canine out of his thoughts enough to nod in agreement and eye the area himself. "Very true. And it's better than some places our trainers could take us to train." The canine gave a smirk as he tilted his head to put the Liepard in his sights better. "I know I wouldn't be thrilled about having to romp about some marsh to find Pokemon to test myself against." He couldn't help but picture himself doing such a thing and while he knew it would suck horribly for him if it were actually done, it did seem like an amusing attempt from an observer's point of view.

As the pile of sludge slept, he dreamed that he was back in his old town as a Grimer. He was hanging about in a pipe that spilled filth out into the sea bordering the town, as were several others of his kind. Occasionally a little Wingull would come try to roost on the top of the pipe and one of the more mean Grimer would splortch over and grab it before pulling it in for the others to mess with. More than once a Water Gun would get shot off by these displeased Wingull and more than once a Grimer would get blasted out of the tube and into the water.
