Evelyn nodded slowly as they passed the two guards slowly, always staring at them. "Yeah.." She was cautious not to say much other than fragmented sentences once they were inside, and Evelyn looked to be in deep concentration as they carefully looked around. The city itself was massive, and the streets really narrow and thin but the sandy buildings stood tall. Even in the night time, Evelyn noticed marquis everywhere, tents, stalls and people. Lots of people. She knew they looked like outsiders, and it made her anxious to see people staring at them. She grabbed for Ruji's hand and held it tight as she led them through the crowds and quickly down an alleyway. Once there at a dead end, and she knew they were alone, she looked to him finally. "If they know we're already here, then we're in trouble." She looked around herself again. paranoid. "We need to find ourselves some native clothing. Maybe headscarves too, to cover our faces. Right now we stick out like sore thumbs. We want to blend in." She looked to him seriously. "And once I've found my bearings, we're infiltrating the palace."

*Ruji nodded, "isn't that basicly what I was saying before... well... other then the standing out part." He nodded and looked around, "I've noticed a few things already. If we can get the apprince right, and find a story to follow, after enough time we'll basicly be like citizens here." He glared though at her, "I do not steal however. And we have no money on us. So that only means the atunitive. And i'll have to leave that too you, I have no skill at it in the first place. We'll meet back here, in twenty minets. I'm going... to do something real quick aswell. Perhaps find a resionable story we can follow. I'll stay on the down low however..." He turned to go...

Evelyn grabbed his arm again. "Do not mention who we are or where we come from. I didn't discuss it when you were talking about it before because we were in front of those guards." She carefully let go, realising her grip was too strong. "But yeah, good plan. Remember its easy to get lost in this city, it's why most disappear when coming here. It's dangerous out there by yourself. So be careful, okay?" She looked to him before disappearing into the shadows. As Evelyn walked around the main market she instantly understood she was standing out. She was quite a great deal paler than Altaria's inhabitants, although her black hair wasn't that far off. Even so, everything was dusty and she was pristine. A habit that came with her feline mannerisms to keep her fur perfect. She quickly went to a few stalls to buy desert clothing, mostly consisting of genie pants and an embellished crop top, and most importantly a head scarf to hide her face. She slipped into a side alley to change, but quickly realised she was being followed. She quickly slid her jacket back on and her eyes thinned. "Well ain't this a pretty little white face we have here." A group of men walked out from the shadow of the building and subtly started to circle her. "I could smell 'er from 'alf a mile away." Evelyn's pupils shrunk into cat-eyed slits. "Back the ******** away and I'll let this go." They all laughed. "You hear that lads? She'll let us go." Evelyn started to hiss. "Remember when you plunge into Hell that you asked for this." Evelyn pounced on one of them with a mid air shift into one form that she'd kept under wraps for a while - her panther form. Ripping and tearing at the mans body, the others faces painted white. Some fled. The ones that remained got torn into pieces.

*Ruji never minded standing out. It was the way the 5 sides of Yuji lived. To be different then any other. But this was Evelyns sake, not his own. He walked among a croud, a large passing crowd, found a really buisy crossing and stopped in the center. There he stood as he drooped his head, arms loosly to the side. When he opened his eyes, it was like he was in a new sense. His hearing and sight picked targets that walked by, lisening on there conversations, choosing key aspects that could lead to a good story if he put them together. A few minets, and he was gone yet again, lost into the crowds of people until he slipped into an allyway and ran into a large figure man. "Apollogys, I came around the corner far to quickly." He stepped aside to let the man past, and continue down the alliway that would soon lead himt o where he would meet Evelyn when she was finished. But suddenly he was lifted off the ground and thrown to a wall. "Figures, "Ruji Replied with a shie as the man went for a punch for the face, but Ruji was quicker, he moced his head to the side, the punch missed, he then used his legs to wrap around the mans arm and twished it so hard, they both heard a SNAP. This released the grip the man had, and ruji finished off the quick fight by doing a flip kick of a sort, to both send the man further away, and also to knock him out on the back wall. Then he stood there with a hand to his side and the other in a pocket looking down at the man, "should have taken the apology. I must remember there are no gentalmen here." He turned and headed on, soon arriving int he spot he was to meet Evelyn, carfully keeping tabs if anyone would near.

Evelyn sighed as she quickly shifted back into her human form and wiped her mouth of blood. "I hate being so messy." She picked up her new clothes and begun to change into them. Lucky she had new clothes, she thought, the old ones had blood all over them. Once she was all changed and she wrapped her purple head scarf around her so that only her eyes and forehead were shown, she made her way back into the city centre. She felt a lot more comfortable now that people weren't looking at her. She hated when people stared. She was always more of a stealth type, lurking in the shadows. People staring meant people noticing who you were. She didn't like that at all. She quickly made her way back to the alley where she met Ruji again. She sighed with a small smile, putting her hands on her hips. "This city ain't very nice, is it?" She grinned, pulling her scarf down from over her mouth. "It's more ruthless than I remember. They really don't care for strangers here. And I guess since the city got sealed off they're even more weary about newcomers."

*Ruji nodded and looked Evleyn up and down. It was a different stile all together, and it was noticeable on her. But after a while, he presumed he could get used to it. He looked to her seriously, "I've done alittle searching for things. First thing I've learned, is that your right. They don't take to strangers, which is way I think you coming here was a set up in the first place. I think you were the real prize for whatever is awaiting up there. But no longer will I speak of such. Second thing I've learned, not only is the lifestile here more reckless, but it seems to be grouped. Everyone here is tied up in to some set of people. I've even noticed the kids, stick together. The ones who don't, are usally targets. Sadly this means a form of trust, even if not so trust worthy. Most are in culples, twos or threes, that branch out to friendly types. So our story should follow suit. We will use the story, that we are a cuple barly making it by. Being we don't have anything to start with, that should be easy. Over time, making a life for ourselves here, and doing day to day tasks, people we see around often will soon better announce trust. These are the people we will need later if we wish to hide, or get anywhere." He held out a hand for new clothing for himself, "i'll need to change my apprince, and you may need to take lead with the cuple roll however, I have no experience."

Evelyn snickered as she handed him his pile of clothes. "Don't worry, I got you covered in that department." She flicked her wrist. "But you're thinking too long term." She looked back down the alleyway in thought. "I don't want to be here no longer than a month." She looked back to him seriously. "I spent a year in here in my demon youth, and trust me," She spun her finger around at the side of her head. "This place does things to your mind. Turns you manic. Why do you think I was such paranoid cagey uptight b***h when I first came into the family." She frowned a second. "Don't answer that." She walked over to the wall to lean on it. "We can't trust anyone in here other than the king. But there is an old friend who I do want to see that still lives here." Evelyn snickered. "She's.. uh.. accustomed to this place. But I have reason to believe her word. We'll go to her first. See what the general public knows about what's going on in the palace."

*Ruji rose a brow as he changed, right then and there. He didn't really see a reason why a person would die anything they had. Nor why it was important too, other then indecency. Beside Evelyn was his friend, so surely it wouldn't offend her... right? Ruji was a vary fit, mucly looking fellow undernieth all the clothing. Sorta the hot guy type, even though with cloths on you could never tell. While dressing he shrugged, "not actul trust. And even more so, You have me here to make sure we don't end up corrupt. As I would you, surly we know eachother better then that. But if that's your wishes, then my plan will not work at all. It will take time, if you have an allie here, there perhaps we can rush it. But it still think there's something up, and rushing it isn't a good idea." He slipped his shirt on and shied as he tossed his cloak into the bag, "sadly I cannot leave my things. Nor have them on me it appears." He put he back over his shoulder like he saw the locals do with theres, "well then lead on."

Evelyn rose an eyebrow as she lifted herself from the wall. "You said you wanted us to look like a couple to make it more believable right?" She grinned and walked over to him before quickly taking his hand. "Lets be off then, honey." She laughed as she dragged him back into the streets. Less people looked at them now, that made Evelyn feel a lot more comfortable. "My friends name is Aeron. And I'm warning you now before you get all weird when we get there, she's a demon. And a powerful one at that. She's pretty high in the rankings, but she's still under the demon hierarchy unlike myself who broke away from it. So she still does a lot of evil stuff. She's one of the smartest women I know though, taught me almost everything I know." She nodded as they walked into a darker part of town, that looked to constantly be in its night time. "I think it was around here somewhere..." She came across a dead end in an alleyway and started to run her palms across the bricks. Her hand stopped and she pushed down a loose brick, opening up a secret entrance in the wall. "Aha!" She looked back to him with a grin, holding her hand out. "Com'on."

*He blinked when she took his hand, and was thrown alittle off balance at first, but it didn't take long to be in the same stride. As far as it came do to the explanation of her friend. "Another powerful demon huh. Lovly, hopefully 'SHE' wouldn't know about me being a hunter in the olden days then. That could be bad on reputation. And you've changed, don't you think that will... show?" He nodded and tried to follow Evelyn, gripping her hand tighter as they went. He felt uneasy here already. It was in these nooks and crannys he used to go and hunt, and he feared now to become the hunted.

Evelyn laughed as they walked through the passage and started down a long staircase into darkness. "Old Demons are wise enough to not hold grudges against other demons, otherwise she wouldn't have taken me in in the first place. It's just the new demons that are pretty discriminatory. Probably because they're under a different ruling. With Veira and Yuji now in power over the demons and devils, they're obviously going to change attitudes. Demons are tamer these days yes, but they're more likely to feed off each other. We're not as closely banded as we used to be. Demons were independent and smart. Now they just hunt in packs like wild rabid dogs." She grimaced at the thought. "But Aeron has been around since before I became a demon, so she knows better." She looked back to him with a small smile. "I'm a Pride demon by the way." She looked back down to the steps as they walked. "I've never actually told anyone that before. But Pride demons are high up in the hierarchy along with Wrath demons I think. Each kind of demon has their own kind of power. But I guess you already knew that." She cautiously walked over to a broken door at the end of the corridor. "Aeron is a Sloth demon. I won't let her hurt you, but be weary of her... influence."

He blinked, "I have no idea how influence could corrupt me." He spoke planly as he gave a nod, "and I only know some of the demon classification. In my time there weren't many types and calluses, maybe three or so. But again, we didn't stick around to find out, we fought to the death consintaly. So there was little time to learn too much of the other side, you were always worried about being killed and defending yourself aswell as others. Death was a high rate back then from demons. Higher then I would ever expect since that time zone I came from." He nodded, "i'll be quiet and just... let you do your thing. Assist if asked to hows that. Honistly I feel a but of unease here already." He nodded and went quiet now. Surely they were getting near...

Evelyn nodded as she climbed over the broken door into a corridor with lines of doors. "I mean influence because that's her... power almost. There's a number of things she can do. What she did to me when I first met her was send me into limbo and made me relive my worst nightmare. It wasn't until I overcame my nightmare that I was able to get out of it. That's when she deemed me worthy to teach." She laughed. "This woman is practically my mentor." "I'd have never thought that I would hear those words coming from that mouth." A deep sultry voice spoke from in front of them suddenly, and as Evelyn looked around she saw Aeron. Aeron looked to be only 18, wearing a pure black shirt where the collar came up to cover her mouth and nose and black 3/4 length baggy shorts. But her skin was very pale and heavily tattooed with a number of enchantments and curses. Her black hair was neatly packed back into two neat buns on her head and Aeron's eyes shone a brilliant red. However.. the whites of her eyes weren't actually white at all.. but rather a deep black which contrasted the redness of her iris'. Evelyn's face lit up. "Aeron." The demon smiled, although they could only just see it, hidden by her shirt. "It's been too long, Evelyn." Aeron's eyes moved slowly onto Ruji. "And.. friend?" Evelyn squeezed Ruji's hand. "Ruji is helping me with my mission." The demon looked unappeased as she sniffed the air delicately. "Smells like a hunter to me." Her fingers twitched slightly. "Wouldn't be the first time these walls have seen hunter flesh." Evelyn stood between her and Ruji. "Ruji's here to help me, not to hurt you." Aeron smiled coldly. "I don't doubt it."

*Ruji shied, "was a hunter... about 3-4 thousand years ago. I've been asleep all this time, and now I am following Evelyn. Assisting her. I will be no trouble." He replied carfully and almost board like, he knew this was going to happen. He shrugged it off though, he needed too. But there was no way he was going to let go of Evelyns hand at this point. His own grip tightened alittle too. He put his other hand in his pocket. This women defenlt fit the description he had in mind... well alittle better looking, but that was just a plus he guessed. Nasty things were always better to be looking younger. But he kept that to himself and was silent once more.

Aeron smiled to Ruji patronisingly. "You do yourself no favours by acting like the cream of the crop." She brought one of her spindly hands up to drag her finger across her black lips. "Although I suppose that's just a mannerism of the Yokai heritage isn't it? That, and hunters have their own.. personality flaws shall we say." Her voice was croaky and she spoke slowly in monotone, like she had all the time in the world. In the end, this was her nest. She glanced lazily back to Evelyn. "I understand you came here for information." Aeron turned and began walking down the corridor, motioning for them to follow. Evelyn pulled Ruji along, fascinated by her old mentor as if a young demon again. "There isn't much to offer these days. The city is in turmoil. Their monarch is on his deathbed, and a corrupt political fascist is leading in his place." Aeron led them into a wide room with a low ceiling and a table in the middle with a few chairs surrounding it. On the table was the corpse of a human, half eaten. Evelyn swallowed, looking at it. "The man came when another left. I believe you know this man. Vergil. Vergil lived in this city under the king as his advisor. A couple of years ago, Vergil suddenly resigned from his position and left the city without giving reason why. When he left, another came to take his place. The grieving king was too upset to understand this man was no good for the kingdom. The king then soon fell... mysteriously ill and was forced to hand duties to this man."
