"Shut the ******** up, ya blue-haired busybody!" PReacher growled at the poor girl before rturning back to Axel. She was more ocncerned with his retreating back. Did that insufferable man think she wasn't even worth fighting? Just because she was small she wans't dangerous? Preacher had been on the streets all her life, fighting for survival every day. Well, not every day, but most days. Even the sting of Tinker's lasting bruises could not deterr her yowled threat. "Oh? You ain't man enough to fight me?!" With a strangled noise, her muscles bunched and she sprang lithely forward, leaping onto Axel's back. She clung to his broad shoulders like a barnacle. A violent barnacle. With she free hand, she curled her fingers and scratched at his face, trying to wrestle the bigger man to the ground. With one elbow, she landed a sharp blow to the top of his head. [note for the fight! I'm 100% ok with people trying to break it up, but plz don't rp your character succeeding in doing so unless we've discussed it <3]

And there they went. Or rather, there went Preacher. "Oi. Take your fight away from the barges if you really need to brawl," he muttered while staring at the two. He didn't feel a particular need to stop them. Not now at least. Preacher mentioned he wanted to do something about Axel and well... here that something was now. His anger towards the blond probably wasn't going to be improving anytime soon, he felt. He had work to do right now anyway. Catching 'Nikky's' look, he just gave a curt nod in return. Then, he took in a deep breath and began to push the barge into the canal, grunting lowly as he did so. Everyone by the barges There's so many of you now

Axel privately shared Preacher's opinion that the blue-haired girl should mind her own business. Shun at least was minding his own business. The rich guy had turned away with a snotty look on his face that was almost as offensive as Preacher. And that ... book ... over there seemed to be minding her business. The sheer weirdness of the human-sized book costume distracted him at a critical moment. Preacher hit him hard from behind, knocking the wind out of him with a surprised "Oof!" He staggered under Preacher's weight. Preacher was light, but it was still a surprise to suddenly find yourself with an angry human on your back, clawing like a wildcat. Axel tried to grab those flailing arms to keep Preacher's nails out of his eyes. Then he was struck in the head by an elbow. He fell to his knee, briefly seeing stars. With a lucky grab he caught hold of one of Preacher's wrists and pulled hard, shaking Preacher off. He threw his enemy to the ground, caught hold of his wrist again and grabbed wildly for Preacher's other hand, trying to subdue the struggling Preacher without hurting him. "Stop it!" Axel barked. He was still winded by the impact and half-dazed by the blow to the head. Wrestling Preacher was like wrestling an oversized, insane kitten. It was horrible.

"Hallo hallo. I can't say I'm confident I'll write it correctly, so sure thing," Lloren said, ready to jot down the new volunteer's name. "Since you're signing up now, I'm guessing you weren't here yesterday for the evaluations, in which case, how would you like to help? We've got security, and the costume troupe is open as always." ((Sorry I'm late!))

"Aah!" Zin squeaked in surprise. She knew that, as a military trainee, it was her duty to keep these kinds of situations under control. She'd been in training for hand-to-hand combat, but she was average at best, and the adults easily outweighed her. She turned to Shun and Nik and pleaded, "Help me!" Without waiting for a response, she hurried to Axel's side. She placed one hand on his shoulder and the other on Preacher's. "That enough!" she scolded in her best authoritative voice (which, considering her youth, was not all that impressive). "Break it up!" ((Feel free to smack her away, haha.))

Marissa Carlton really was just that nice. "Go on, I'll be over here if you need anything." she rolled up her dress sleeves, already off to work. It was no wonder were her son got his even temperament from. Beyond patting the ox's down, attach some flowers to their horns she'd set outfits aside. If any new faces joined, she'd have gladly entertained them. "I..yea!" He cast a look back to his mother mouthing a thank you. Not like he was fond of the bovines either, nor did he blame the shy girl's mistrust. They were weird..Horse riding sounded much better. Alec puffed his chest up a bit stepping forward. "Long as the horse has a saddle, I can ride just fine." He assured the older gentlemen. "Ah thank god.." The man sighed when he saw both of them quick to accept. Waving his hand for them to follow, heading for his family stall Marigolds. Inside were two horses, both of which lifted their heads up at being approached. They were equally dark, mostly brown. The female had a white blaze down her muzzle, and white stockings up her legs. While the male had a star marking right between his eyes. They were massive, and each had a name which Alec could not make out on his own. "...Um." He stared blankly at the words, frowning as his enthusiasm wavered trying to force himself to read. The man was already busying himself hollering at someone nearby. "Steve! We got some kids who will ride the damn horses, tell the coordinator we can still go!" He was already walking away. "Saddles are in the stall, just make sure ya bring 'em back after ya ride." He glared suspiciously wondering if he'd regret this. "Thomas Marigolds." he grunted before vanishing not waiting to hear their names. With that Alec stared between the two horses, then back to the copper-skinned girl. Was..this really happening? He looked on in awe. "Can you believe it?" he whispered to Shankuntala. NaomiNaomi Feel free to name/pick the mare or steed. Alec can't read anyway. I'll likely name mine Flash/Ace. Should anyone join oxcarts, Marissa will gladly help you

Preacher was stunned momentarily as Axel grabbed hold of her and twisted her off of him. Neat move. But although Axel may have caught her wrists, Preacher had two good legs. She kicked ou as he finished flinging her away from him. Unfortunately, it didn't connect and she frowned in concentration, skipping a little to regain her balance. "Fight me like a man, ya pansy!" She snarled at Axel, her lips pulling back in a feral growl. He was trying to duck out of this fight! It was too bad for him, then, that there was no way Preacher was stopping until he was down. Her eyes glinted dangerously. Zin laid a hand on her shoulder and Preacher rounded on her with a snarl. Knocking her hand away, she rushed forward. She darted straight at Axel, vest swirling around her thin body. Ducking swiftly under his arms, she swooped in to deliver a punch to his gut. She twirled back, her grace during the dance becoming more apparent now. Preacher was happy while fighting; she liked the thud of flesh against flesh and reveled in the visceral delight of winning.

He had been on the verge of laying down anyways when he was suddenly aware of someone speaking up just beside him. Turning to determine whether he was the one being addressed, Elliot blinked at Mykanos for a moment before lifting his shoulders in a shrug. "Yeah, I am. Are we going to be working together, or are you asking because you need someone from security?"
...Not the latter, hopefully. He wasn't sure he'd actually be of any help, though that wasn't to say that he wouldn't try.
"I'm Elliot," He offered helpfully after a moment of pause. It seemed like he was going to say more, but his attention was abruptly drawn away by the sound of yelling. Turning just in time to see Preacher launch herself at Axel, the boy stood there and stared dumbfounded for a good few seconds before letting out a slow and exasperated sigh.
Chaos already? Though his expression had not shifted significantly, his eyes were slightly narrowed as he stared at the situation. He wasn't sure whether he should try breaking up the fight--he was security--but he wasn't going to pretend that he was the most physically capable person around.
But when Zin tried to break up the fight, that was when he turned to Mykanos and muttered a quiet "come on". Hurrying forward, the first thing he did was try and reach for Zin to pull her away, hoping to get the younger girl out of the fray. As his other hand scrabbled for Preacher in an attempt to grab her arm and drag her back, he shot a glance over his shoulder and addressed the first person he saw.
"Hey Shun, some help would be good."

Unfortunately Preacher escaped, squirming away from his restraining grip. He did manage to dodge Preacher's kick, but that was small satisfaction. Axel glared at Preacher. He was breathing hard, still recovering from the violent collision just seconds ago. When the blue-haired girl put a hand on his shoulder he shook her off impatiently. He didn't want to be rude, but this wasn't going to be settled unless he managed to take Preacher down and subdue him. Axel grabbed for Preacher when he made his move but didn't manage to block the punch. He was braced this time, and Preacher didn't manage to knock the air out of him, but it still hurt like hell. He gritted his teeth against the pain and straightened up with an effort. He wasn't graceful like Preacher. If he lunged when Preacher was expecting it, he would just stagger around like a clumsy ox while Preacher made a fool of him. "I don't want to fight you," Axel said again. He lowered his arms and smiled. It was more of a pained grimace than a smile, but he did what he could. It worked. Preacher went after him again and Axel tackled the other boy, sending them both crashing to the ground. On top of Preacher, he tried to grab Preacher's wrists again, trying to pin him and hold him still.

Lenore balled her tiny hands into fists as she saw Zinnia's hands get knocked aside. She was reminded of her parents talking to her once when she was younger, before they left for their last mission. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Elenore," they began. "You're a smart little girl, but there may come a time at which you need to fight to protect something important to you." "'Something important to me'...?" The young girl had asked. "Yes. Be it a friend, your ideals, or even the city you live in. When you find something important to you, you have to fight to protect it, okay?" Lenore tilted her head. "Do you have something you fight to protect, Mom and Dad?" Her parents smiled at each other before wrapping the young girl in a hug. "Of course, dear. We have you." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Glaring at Preacher, Lenore darted forward and threw a kick at the older boy's leg. To add to her stupidity, she whirled on Axel and threw a punch at the boy's stomach. It was foolhardy at best - the girl wasn't strong by any standard, and the size difference was substantial. But in that moment, logical thought wasn't part of the girl's repertoire. She had to protect her friend, even if she wasn't actually in danger.

"Ouch," Zin said, stepping back and holding her hand where Preacher had smacked it. "Stop it!" she yelled again when the two started grappling again. At least she wasn't alone now; she felt herself pulled away from the flailing limbs by Elliot. "I'm okay," she told him hastily. "You gotta break them up!" Suddenly, she felt cushiony fabric brush by her, and she saw Lenore join the fight. "Stop! Lenore!" she exclaimed, rushing forward to pull the younger girl back. Lenore wasn't a trainee, or part of the security team-- but most importantly, she was Zin's friend! Zin couldn't let her get hurt!

Elliot's hand scabbled at her arm and she whirled on him, throwing out a kick blindly. In the next second, Axel was taunting her and she just couldn't take it. Before she could blink, he had her pinned though, his muscled weight holding her down effectively. She squirmed under him. "Get tha ******** off me!" Preacher screeched. She bucked underneath Axel, trying to heave the heavier man off. Finally, she managed to roll, knocking him off her. Preacher bounced up just in time to have a..... a book come barreling at her. Preacher blinked in confusion as the book kicked her smartly in the shin. Without a second thought, she swung one arm out, backhanding the lightweight tome across the face. If books had faces. Preacher didn't check, her eyes were still fixed on Axel, that b*****d. She breathed heavily. Hopefully people would stop interrupting. "Ya don't want ta fight? What did ya call that, ya rat b*****d?! I don't expect you to have honor anyway." She spat on the ground between them. This time, when she came at him, she tried to circle him, kicking out viciously at his knees. She jumped on his back again, grabbing for any type of purchase on Axel's body. One hand found his hair, the other his shirt. The sound of ripping fabric filled the air and she pulled a little too hard. Rearing back, she punched him as hard as she could in the shoulder.

Shun didn't look towards Elliot when he requested some help to break up the fight. He wasn't even really paying a lot of attention to the brawl that was going on right now. Sure. He could step in, but it wasn't really a priority right now. It was the security team's issue. "Not my fight. Not my problem. I got s**t to do," he stated while he continued to slowly push the barge towards the canal. He was making his way, surely but steadily. He found no reason to be going as hard as he could right now. There were a few more boats that needed to be pushed, plus all the other things that needed doing right now All of you fighters and whatnot

Day 2 > Day 3 (Breaking my own rules shhh)When Saga had suggested the street rat join the military, the startled look on Preacher's face told him more than he needed to know. The rest of what she'd said confirmed it. It's not that she didn't like the idea, but that she didn't think they would take her. Maybe that would have been the case, in normal circumstances. He knew what he had to do. She seemed to take the parade marshal's story well. Saga furrowed his brows in mock hurt and offense as she punched in the arm; though she may have pulled it a bit less than expected. "Oof! What's that? You must not underestimate the wolfmen! When she began to clutch her side laughing, he gasped in horror, looking around as if there were monsters lurking beyond sight. "You've a strain, I see? Vile fiends, those wolfmen. Vile! To strike even as we dance!" He laughed, and then tried to take her hand in his own. "Then I must go hunt them for you. A father must protect his dear daughter. We will see each other later, I trust!" He saluted with a childlike happiness on his face and left to attend his duties. And start writing that recommendation letter. --- The next day, Saga left the building for a patrol, astride Drakon. He didn't need to be on horseback, of course, but the dark stallion's mood took a darker turn when not taken out for rides, with pent up energy making him anxious. ((insert suspense dun dun dunn!))

Axel was hoping Preacher would just give up when pinned, but he should have known better. Cat, he thought wearily. It's like fighting a frigging cat. Then Preacher managed to knock Axel to the side. He scrambled to his feet, ready to defend himself from Preacher's fury. He wasn't as fast getting up as Preacher, not as nimble, but then a girl in a book costume came running in to the fray. She kicked Preacher in the shin and hit Axel in his already-abused stomach. Fortunately she wasn't as strong as Preacher. Still. It hurt. That blow from Preacher earlier had been vicious. He grunted in pain. "Hey!" he yelled in outrage when Preacher smacked the book. "Honor! You call that honor? Hitting girls!" That was the last straw. Instead of defending, he wanted to attack Preacher. He was spitting mad, seeing red, ready to knock Preacher right the ******** out. He lunged for Preacher, too angry to think straight. Preacher was far too quick for him, and before he knew what was happening Preacher was on his back again. He growled in pain when Preacher started yanking on his hair, pulling his head back. This had to end. Preacher hit him hard enough to make him stagger, and he managed to shake Preacher off once again. No mercy. Axel threw himself at Preacher, knocking the younger male to the ground. He grabbed Preacher's wrists and slammed them to the ground, pinning Preacher down. He bared his teeth at Preacher, truly furious, trying to calm the blood red rage that had him wanting to beat Preacher's face in. Hitting girls. "Don't do that again," Axel snarled.
