Gale seemed to fly into the portal suddenly, as if some fire had lit under his dumb, British a**. Otto concluded this to have happened for one of two reasons;
1) He was going to see what was on the other side in the name of Deathy Science.
or
2) He'd finally cracked and was ready for the sweet embrace of exile.
He kind of hoped the portal opened up into a Monster's mouth.
Otto actually grinned at that mental image, snickering as he drew his idle circles.

Deryk stared at the portal for some time, considering this or that. It had occurred to him that he could use this opportunity potentially. He was a part of the death division after all. Though, his thoughts paused as he felt a hand clasp onto his shoulder and his attention turned towards Gale. Momentarily, his eyes widened at his words.
Wait. Wh-
It quickly dawned on him that the other Death had a similar train of thought as he just had right now. Only he was going to act on it.
"R-right.."
And off he went. Hopefully Gale would be alright, but he figured he should be. The younger hunter was better at the job than he was, after all.

Solia's leaving left a small pang of sadness in Lex's chest, and Gale got minor confusion before he realized the boy's plan of action. He really did have to admire the kid's intelligence - it was uncanny, even for the Death trainees. The two that left from his own division got a quirked brow and slightly twisted lip. Really? He thought those two would at least have the intellect to see the consequences, should they make it back alive.
"So what happens with us?" He asked everyone who'd decided to stay away from the portal. "Sounds like the Islands' been blown to hell - so we're probably safe to walk out."

"God DAMNIT Gale!" She cried out mere moments before he leaped through the portal, glaring and gritting her teeth.
The others she could let go through the portal. While her moon instincts were going nuts at the idea of whatever the hells on the other side, she had no real emotional attachment to those who ditched them and left.
Gale on the other hand, was a friend. He was Bix, her Boyfriends, BEST friend. She felt a obligation to protect doubally, due to that.
Looking around at her fellow moons, her conflicting emotions really showed. "Damnit guys, i...i need to protect his dumb a**." No one else on the other side would. She looked at Dakota, Harisson, and yes... even Marcus for a moment. Of the moons she knew them the best.
She even stole a glance at their leaders, Edith and Charlotte. She hoped they would understand.
She looked at Bix too, eyes lingering. Of everyone she hoped he understood the most.
Are you sure?
No, im not. But im in moon for a reason, right?
Picking up her sword she swung it over her shoulder, a final glance around and a sigh. "******** it." She took off in a run and leapt in to the portal.

As the last of the Hunters stepped through the portal, it closed with a simple snap. Silence.
"Thank you," were the only words she had left for Dakota, and with an exhaled sigh between her teeth she pulled her phone from her pocket, tapping away a brief message she hoped might offer some understanding:

In the story of Things That Didn't Happen, she had a touching moment where she stared at Caelius, trying to send him mental-twin-power pleas to just say something, to beg her not to go, oh Caelius--
Feeling a hand grasping at her wrist, she moved to swat it away, stopping herself short of Lucky's hand. She had lingered in his shadow for much of this endeavor, and if he wanted her to go with him now, she'd go with him now. With a polite bow one might give at the close of a business meeting, she stepped backwards into the portal.
But not before trying to leave the brooch behind again.

Dis's laugh echoed in the back of his mind as the hunter stared to where the portal had been.
Mark shot up, screaming bloody murder as he felt cold fingers-
- Well let's just say that Dwight hadn't found his lightsaber. Unless Dwight was into dual wielding of that sort.
The scream almost seemed to echo, which was how thick the palatable silence was in the room.
"All of you think this is a joke a trick, some sort of LIE, that I am simply a magician." The intercom crackled. "No, the TRUTH of it is the other way. I am the truth and those you trust are the lies. Magic and tricks, tools taken from us from ME for their own liking. They killed the Council for nothing short of greed, to gain everything they ever could have wanted, the power that we once painstakingly created for them."
"But this opens a new chapter. It feels like time. Shall we watch together as your island burns and you finally take retribution for your sins?"
"What?" Mark genuinely seemed surprised, nearly falling off his desk again. "I thought this was some sort of trial! Aren't you at least gonna, uh, do the trial thing where you label someone guilty?"
"It was a trial." The perpetrator agreed, "Very well. WHO ARE THE ONES GUILTY."
At that point, all Hunters in the room would receive a strange text.

And then they were gone, though Deryk soon jumped as Mark suddenly sat up screaming. Right. Dwight. He was not going to try and think too hard about that. Scratching his head, he just kept in mind Gale's request. Don't let him do anything too stupid. Right.
Feeling a buzz in his pocket, he went and checked his phone.

He wasn't too certain what to make of all of this, but then he realized it was a subtle way to communicate without O knowing. Clever. Clever. Letting out a breath, he sat back down while trying to look kind of bored with his phone. And then the leads began to speak, along with O.. with someone deciphering for Cael.
"You keep going on about JUSTICE. Why you wanna burn everyone down to reach that? That's not cool man. Nope." he asked.

"H-he's.... he's taken our friends hostage! Who knows how many more bombs there are..." Jerry murmured, a bit slower on the uptake before noting the amount of people on their phones was increasing. Finally, he pulled his own out of his coat pocket, pushing his glasses up his nose as he tried to make sense of the messages.

Rep was good at checking his phone on the sly. Plenty of twitter arguments and on mission jibes were testament to his ability to look like he was paying attention but to actually be texting insults to other people. For once this ability came in handy as he checked his phone, lingering on the map for just a moment, before dropping the hand holding the phone out of sight not even looking as he texted back to the others.
