Shortly after she had managed to restore her Fear shield to full capacity, Shaheen was forced to abandon her attack on the pistol hunter in favor of keeping herself alive now that the reinforcements had arrived. She dodged bullets and blades, tumbled, rolled, and sprinted around the battlefield, her own dagger held firmly in hand. She was no fool to go attacking alone. She needed to find her people, her war people, the ones she could trust most to know how a battle should be fought. Together they would be strong, together---
Ah, she caught sight of Shikoba, finally! But...those were not hunters attacking him! It was enough to halt her in her tracks, her gold on grey eyes going wide. No. What were they doing. NO! She had shown nothing but patience towards these students. She had defended their worth against other horsemen. She had tolerated them, knowing that if Medea could see their use, then there must be something there.
Her eyes flashed and narrowed, and her body began to tremor in unspoken rage. She could feel the Fear from her earlier harvest thrumming through her, offering her the power she needed. Something deep inside of her seemed to uncoil, a feeling she had not felt in a long time. The power was calling to something inside of her, and her body was responding. Her lips curled up into a cruel smile.
It was time to "mount up".
She began sprinting again, but this time with more purpose, her mostly bare feet pounding against the ground, her tangled mass of hair whipping out behind her.
And then she began to change. A golden yellow light seemed to infuse her, before exploding outward and leaving in it's wake a raging lioness, tawny yellow but streaked with grey, adorned with feathers behind it's right ear, eyes golden, glowing and piercing. Her upper lip curled back from teeth, long and sharp as she launched herself at one of the students who had attacked her executioner with a snarl, claws out and at the ready.
"Always the gentleman." The kitsune barked a laugh, showing off a bit too much fang in the process. "Thanks man." He managed to say as another friend defended him once more. He had respect for sparrow, so he would return the favor some day.
"This Fox, by the way, Bites." He managed to say as he brushed past the defense Lex was getting from a friend, and attacked Lex with...not as MUCH bite as before, but enough to still sting.

When most of the white coat humans were down, more appeared and joined the battle. AJ watched as they started to fight with the horsemen and students while some were dragging away the fallen, including the fainted crazy muscular man who had a huge blade. Well, he wasn't interested in any of this. He wanted strong opponents, those who can hurt him and provided him with excitement. BLOOD. He needed more blood. The amphisbaena walked towards the most chaotic corner, as if he was strolling around. His brother was not interested in combat, he was more into foods. So he just had a good rest and being quiet.
Tch, another sympathizer showed up; the horseman passed Gene a disinterested look, though her attack combined with the red-head's and the hunters had him on the rails. "And your loyalties are clearly in question, ghoul," he hissed in return as he pressed a hand to his crystal and released the energy Medea had bestowed in it, a surge of strength returning to him. "As is your logic if you think defending the white coats will grant you true kindness from them."
And yet she and similar had come to their meeting, perhaps because of power, perhaps because they thought to infiltrated their ranks and learn more. Either way, Shik's lips curled into a snarl just as Shaheen roared onto the scene.
Lifting her chin, she gave him a defiant look. "My loyalties were never to you. As for the students, if they feel betrayed by my actions, then so be it. But it is you, who are in the wrong. You horsemen just keep looking for fights, and dragging my kind into it. I've had enough of it!" She wasn't expecting any favors, or kindnesses from the hunters. She knew what they were like, but she knew some were good people. The horsemen, on the other hand.. they were all corrupt, blood thirsty.
"Gene!" The doll cried out as the female horsemen struck out at the doppelganger.

The moment Shaheen had begun to singsong death to the Hunter had been the one in which Belladonna had grown silent. The knowledge of exactly what it was she had been doing collided in her mind, knocked her off her path and back away from the Hunter. Medea had said 'Jump' and the witch had said 'How high?'. There had been no pause for consideration, which really should have clued the witch into just how much these shards in her skin were affecting her. Instead, she backed up, pulled her cards back in to herself and watched as the girl was decimated. There was no way she could have asked them to stop, but there was also no way she was going to attack again. Once more she was stuck in the middle, for where did her loyalties lie? Was this sudden attack on the Hunters for Halloween? Or just some self-serving revenge scheme for the Horsemen? And what if that girl had been kind, much like Ofelia had? What if, what if, what if? And then so much chaos broke out that there was little left for Belladonna to do but stand there, wide eyed and silent. More Hunters appeared, began to attack back in fiercer array and then... Oh Ofelia, you brash thing, you. A few tentative steps were taken toward the girl, but a swarm of Horseman and students blocked her sight and too frightened of all the possibilities, she took those steps back. Retreat was easier than action, but only rewarded with further embarrassment. A foot hit the snow wrong and the witch tripped, fell backwards onto the cold ice.
What was she supposed to do? What side was she to take? Whose fight was this? A numb hand touched her face, found it wet and hastily wiped away what moisture was there, Belladonna unwilling to call it what it really was. Weakness would do for now, as she was momentarily distracted by the burning desire to help fight the Hunters and the hand that pulled her back to her feet. Blue was what she needed and with all the weakness of conflicting emotions and guilt she clutched at Mort. Her face buried itself into his shoulder and she mumbled a low, "What do I do?" It was soft enough that if he wasn't paying attention, he wouldn't hear her, especially when he began to talk on his own. A vestige of her of normal self rose up as she stared up at him, shivering and scared and angry and wanting for something. It didn't matter that he hadn't asked her, she just needed to help, be wanted... "I-I-I can heal! And er-- I've got first a-aid..." The witch looked at Sharra with mingled pity and worry, eyebrows drawn up in concern for him. A similar look was given to Freya, but she was loathe to leave the zombie for he was their leader, he could tell her better than anyone else. Weakness... The witch's right hand tightened on Mort's arm, beckoned her to action, but her will was far stronger, at least for the moment. Stronger, but confused and therefore just as weak.

"Good," Was all that the baku said, giving the ghoul a small, approving nod. She didn't want either of them to have to fight unless there was a reason for them to...but of course, "reason" was pretty vague. No matter where she looked, Xiu saw friends attacking and being attacked. It was tempting to jump in and help protect them, but they...they were hanging on.
For now.
And she didn't want to leave Sophie alone either. While she knew for a fact that the ghoul could deal solid attacks--her last one had been a testament to that--the idea of the ghoul being ganged up on by more than one hunter frightened her. She didn't want Sophie to have to experience death and dissipation so early on in her school life.
"...I might have to dive in there soon," She murmured, keeping her voice low, "But you have to stay back and keep yourself safe, okay?"
As soon as Ami emerged from the portal, gunfire and shouts filled her ears. There was a battle, and it wasn't hard to determine who the enemy was. Inevitably, it was horsemen. She hesitated, if only for a moment, before charging into the clearing with her fellow life hunters.
Almost immediately a dog attacking Lex, followed by a shadowy figure. Lex seemed capable enough with the dog, but the reaper was her own target. No words, just bullet coverage around him to let him know Hey. You're my target now.

Like a sponge, Herryk soaked in the sights, scents and sounds of the scene around him. He didn't lash out, didn't strike - if he happened across a hunter that was suffering, gurgling, deep in the throes of death, he would pause impassively and wait until they'd taken their last rattling breath. Once they were gone, he would move on.
Death. Such a finality. A luxury he wasn't given, something he could never have. A sort of escape from all of the troubles that plagued him. For a moment he felt a flash of jealousy for the flimsy, fleshy humans.
It made him tense up as he kept walking, his entire body growing more and more rigid, upright.
Herryk was hesitant to attack. He felt as if everything he had, everything building inside of him had to be saved, savored, enjoyed.
He did not notice the feminine shadow he'd gained. Herryk's stride was deceptively calm, almost leisurely. Methodical.

MAHIR IS HEALING HIMSELF
Ofelia's blow staggered Mahir and sent him backward as well, hitting the ground in a mess of tattered fabric and too-dark blood, FEAR fraying. For a while he laid there, unmoving, one more casualty on the battlefield.
And then the body began to laugh, like the hissing of cockroaches. His bony fingers curled upon a jeweled bracelet, and a bright golden flash came from within, spreading across his crumpled form and re-energizing it.
In moments he was on his feet again, shadowy arms at the ready. No mere human would keep him down.
Bix felt an arrow skin his leg, the pants tearing just a sliver. By the time his head swung around he was unable to tell who had fired.
"Dammit!" Once more his head swung, back to the Amity students being suddenly ganged up on by some horsemen. Weren't they on the same side?
The archer once more darted along the edge of the battle, this time targeting the woman and riddling her back with arrows. He didn't know Mei well, and had never seen Gene (though her hands were awwweeesoooome), but the desire to put down some Clans members was much more appealing than school kids.
His bladed bow began to pulse wildly as his charge filled.

Taking a moment to regroup, Sasha grunted under her breath as she refined the grip she had on Nona's handles. The Alkonost's blades glinted, the runes decorating the surface glowing with a violent violet.
<Strike, dove. Nona hungers.>
Chuckling darkly at her weapon's encouragement, the lifer made hacking attacks at the dragon-beast's face - one, two, quick and fleeting - before driving the sharpened hilt of one of Nona's blades towards the beasts abdomen. Hit or miss on that final hit, Sasha slipped away, settling back next to Stormy with a quick tap, tap of Nona's hooked blades.
There was a fierce, hateful expression on her face as she watched the dragon-beast closely, languid and ready to strike once again.
"Well..that happens." Cass tried to look encouraging but there was a PUPPY (sorry Remi, you were as much a dog as Tybalt was to Cass) attacking through her not-so-great defense and that bothered her immensely.
She almost just wanted to hit the damn thing herself and be done with it, but instead forced herself to remain calm and alert - defend. Keep her eye on the beast in front of her, stay aware of the man behind her.
And don't get deafened by the weapon's charge if he used it again.

To say Stormy was frightened was to say Aymet was only "big". There was an innate terror to be found when she was so small and boxed in by something that was had enough power to toy with her. The fetid stench of death and decay had been one thing on the wolf's breath, but entirely different from the bony grin hovering above her. She froze like a deer in the headlights even with Thane screaming in her mind to move, fight, tear, strike, more MORE FEAR - !
And then Sasha lunged forward and struck at the dracolich, buying Stormy enough time to backpedal from the claws at her back. "I-I'msorry," she mumbled quickly, almost tearful at this point. She'd promised to stick close and then got herself separated anyway. Stupid, just like Sasha said not to do.
She had to make up for it.
< < MORE! > > Thane roared in her mind, greed and impatience in amounts enough to equal her fear and anxiety. But Stormy wasn't a little girl anymore: she was a hunter, trainee or whatever. Hunters had duties fulfill.
Gripping the handle tight with shaking limbs, she mimicked Sasha's maneuver and sliced the blade across the dracolich's underbelly, and Thane at last was filled.
Leon almost wanted to smirk when the beast began to turn the cogwheels in its mind and figure out who he was. And once it did, the hunter smiled even wider when it bit down into his shield. "Ah, you do remember me." he stated, pleased that the wound still mattered to it, and shoved it off and away from the both of them."Sorry Mad's didn't mean to divert it away from you." he offered apologetically when the girl went in to strike it down.
or so he thought when it came up short. The frown grew on his features when he gave the girl a bump on he shoulder. "Don't worry about me, go do what you have to." he offered in encouragement. "If you do hit me, you can kiss the boo boo better.'
He would leave it up to her to figure out what boo boo he wanted her to tend to.
