THe Volcarona would scream this time in pain at the attack ....as she was hit in the mid of her back. Her spinning would instantly come to a stop as her wings were force upwards by the power of the attack ... breaking the rhythm of their flight. The girl should have back down even from this, but she was determine as she shouted upwards at her partner ...as the pokemon's upward flight was starting to turn into a down ward spiral.
"Don't give up .....continue ...try it again, counter-attack, Gust."
She was determine that her pokemon wasn't going to be easily defeated in that movement ...even though she was badly harm. She was shouting out for blood, but the chance of it's success.
She wasn't going to let them lose ...they couldn't be beaten twice in a row like this.
As the bug type pokemon would force her wounded wing to work properly as she would continue to flap it ...desperate to get herself up and going again. She would flap her wings once, twice, and then the spinning would begin again as she tries to consume herself in the midst of a gust. A brief spark appeared in the midst of Raven's eyes, the sound of his increasing heartbeat hammering in his ears. This was an opponent that wouldn't give up, continued to fight no matter what, and for good reason. This battle was getting to him in all the right ways. A proper test of strength against a powerful and unyielding opponent. "Fable once more, aim for the antenna!" Raven ordered. He had an idea, he just hoped it worked.
Fable snorted black smoke from his nostrils as the latest command reached his ear holes. It was surprising that despite his rage the Fire-Type had managed to listen so easily, perhaps the rage hadn't reached it's boiling point yet. Seemingly heedless of these thoughts however the Charmander would do the unthinkable, releasing both his fore-claws from the Volcarona and holding on only with his legs. Both of the oil slicked limbs would reach back and pass through the reptile's tail flame, and when they returned they would thrust forward with the intent of boxing the Volcarona's fuzzy, horn like antenna.
The idea was to disrupt the insects senses, causing her to fall from the air once and for all!
Starter Pokemon: Charmander [M] Name & Level: Fable, Lv 9 [Temperament] Quiet Bio: Raven first met Fable during his time living on the streets, finding the fire-tailed reptile in one of hundreds of alleys he'd been in. Battered, beaten, and bloodied, it was clear the Charmander had seen it's fair share of battles...and lost every single one. He bit Raven only five seconds after their initial encounter. Fable had lost all trust in humanity. Raven was never fully aware of the details, but the Charmander's former trainer had been abusive. He'd placed him in battles with impossible odds, expecting him to combat and defeat opponent after opponent with little to no rest...and when he lost, it was his trainer whom would personally add to the reptiles injuries. Finally tired of wasting his time on "some worthless newt" his trainer had abandoned him in the dirtiest alleyway he could find and just left him there. The boy hadn't even given him a name...at least not one he cared to repeat.
For days after that first encounter Raven returned to the alley, usually meeting with the same result; yet still he kept coming, sometimes he even brought food. It was generally scraps most likely out of the garbage, but it was food none the less. One day the Charmander finally asked why the child kept returning...not with words of course, but with his eyes. The curiosity at the boy's actions were clear in the reptiles gaze. Raven had said he saw a fire in Fables eyes that day when they first met, the desire to become truly powerful. More time passed after that, but the only thing which mattered after that point was the outcome. Even without a Pokeball the Charmander decided to follow the boy from that day forward, even earning the name Fable in the process. Raven would speak of spending the reward money on new clothes and a bath, but what was consistently leave out was the purchase of a single Pokeball. There was no need. Even without it, Fable would follow his trainer to the depths of hell and back. The move would work ....as this time ...she couldn't gather the strength to pull herself together as she crashes into the ground ...her entire body going flat underneath the fist of the fire type. Her head hitting the ground hard enough to dent the ground as her body would act like a buffer for the Charmander ....as the the announcer would scream as the meek girl would recall her pokemon.
"IT's over!"
The voice delcares loudly.
"Raven is the winner, and will move on to the finals ...to face off against the other section champ. Well, these hot blood fights have me completely heated up!"
he screams happily.
(Scratch this, I just realize I had you set at level 0, 5,584 Exp or something. That was insane.
1,005 exp.)

((Lunar? I hate to say this but the EXP is only 1005 for a trainer battle with both the Volcarona and my Charmander being Lv 9.))
Raven would groan audible at the announcers pun, placing a hand to his head as he suppressed the throbbing vein. He had little tolerance for such things. Attempting to ignore that part of the arena however Raven would step forward, patting Fable lightly on the head as the reptile's temper cooled, then recalling the Charmander. "It was a good match" He stated politely, giving a faint bow to his opponent before proceeding back to the locker room to await the beginning of the next round.

Though there was tears in her eyes. The woman had been right on that one ...weak ...as she left with her head down, and the Nurse Joy like before would be waiting on them both.
Taking the girl's two pokeballs and waiting to see if Raven would be adding his own.

[FABLE LEARNED SMOKESCREEN!]
The child would shake his head politely at the Nurse Joy before seating himself on a bench. Miraculously he'd managed to fight the entire battle without taking a single hit. Frankly that was something of a miracle in and of itself, especially faced with a Volcarona, but it was so. Certainly they'd managed to grow stronger since their initial entrance in to the Academy. This had been the right choice. He could only hope the next match would go even half as well...though somehow that seemed unlikely at best.

The next match would continue shortly afterwards ....as the Announcer would give them a few moments of commercials. It would seem that Raven had a few moments to himself, and thus three choices were left up to him ...to journey to the concession stands, to speak to his fellow competitors, or simply to wait until he was called.
This was a good chance ...if he choose to take it.

As was his nature Raven would choose to simply sit quietly and make no attempt to communicate with another living soul beyond the necessary. He was not the sort to chat with people at random, and he doubted any of his previous opponents felt like chatting...and for those he hadn't faced it seemed simply too random. A sudden rumbling in his stomach however would prompt the boy to stand...perhaps the retrieval of food before the next battle would be a wise idea...and so off he went to find the concession stand. Hopefully he didn't get lost...

The stadium itself is set up in a circle ...if one walked far enough they would get back right where they started, and Raven wouldn't have to fear of getting lost for the most part. The concession stands were in the middle as a small line had gathered ...a lot of people had taken this break period to do more wandering than eating. A lot of snacks were actually sold during the battle itself ...some didn't have the taste for the final outcome, while others simply felt they needed something to chew when things truly got intense.
Thus, where was luck for Raven as he would see food not only for people, but for pokemon too ....as the list stood as follows:
Raven would arrive at the concessions, standing at the back of the pack as he read the menu board with a look of bewilderment. What in the world were these 'nacho' things? Turkey Legs? Pure decadence in all it's rotten glory. Pizza...wait wasn't that the greasy cheesy thing he used to find stuck to cardboard back in the alley? The boy began salivating unconsciously, but as the first gulp came he turned his attention to the side of the menu intended for Pokemon. He shouldn't forget his companions...besides it seemed there were some useful items here for outside of the competition as well. Berries and Honey had a number of uses. Though he had to wonder about the other things...
((Question. What do the Poffins and PokeBlocks actually do?))

(I would think they simply increase a pokemon's friendliness towards you (poffin), or can be used to increase capture rate for the Pokeblock (+1 to capture roll))
The line wouldn't stay a line for long as soon Raven was standing in the front, and one of the workers would smile at him.
"What can I get ya?"
He would ask as he hands over a drink to one customer ....a Soda Pop.

For a time longer Raven would continue starring at the menu for a moment longer, weighing his options and the amount of money he had on hand before finally making his decision. When at last words began leaving his mouth it would be in the form of a decently long list "Three Poffins, Five Berries, One Honey, Pizza, and a Lemonade if you have any. Please and thank you" Raven stated clearly, gesturing the numbers with his fingers to ensure that there was no mistaking the amount requested. Then, having already done the math based on the prices listed above the child would place 235 on the countertop and then begin the wait, either for the food or the man's response, whichever came first.

The man would declare as he would go about gathering the items. He would even gain help from the other people working the stand as nearly everything would be placed in front of Raven with the pizza for him, and on the other side ..1 honey, three poffin ..of the blue coloration, and 5 Oran berries would be sat beside him.
The man would take the money with a smile. This wasn't the first time that they had such a large order, but, the man figured that he was probably a trainer with a couple of pokemon with him that might be famish.
"sorry we don't stock Lemonade just Soda Pop, so I have to ask you again about the drink. Though we do have water?"

Raven would think for only a moment before stating "Water please." Soda after all contained unnecessary sugar. Such things were precisely why his oaf of a father and his brother Gander were so over weight. While waiting on the water the youth would begin placing the berries, honey, and poffins in his bag for easy carrying; although now the problem became where he could feed a Steelix. He very much doubted there was enough excess room in the waiting area, or in the hall, and he'd rather not feed the Steelix immediately before combat. There were certainly downsides to having a Pokemon of such incredible mass. "Excuse me" Raven suddenly pipped up "Would there happen to be an area around here with roughly 31' feet of overhead clearance?" Well it certainly couldn't hurt to ask.

He would declare sharply to him as he put the water on the counter with the rest of the items.
"Right now, everyone is on break, so you can feed a good size pokemon there ...and he can rest in the grass while you wait for the next round. Though I suggest you disappear before the next round, because, they won't like it if you are taking up spaces where the competitors could battle."
He would finish up as one of his companions would call him. He would then turn away as he gather the gold and went to whatever task he had been summon for.
