Still with the swiping attacks. These creatures had no sense of decency. That’d be the least of Molly’s concerns for the moment, though as the floor started to become coated.
It was a horrible feeling.
She knew it was cold, she could see her breath, but as it shot up her legs, to her knees, and then onwards, it wasn’t a chill that ran through her body, but a terrible and painful burn. The trainee wrapped her arms around herself to the best of her ability as she shuddered, biting her lip. It hurt so bad. Tears pricked at the corner of her eyes as she tried to hang in there and bear it.

 Never thought she'd be so happy to see Aria! Mercedes just grinned as the blue fire lit up the place in chaos and took a moment to seek out a new target. The horseman? Nah.. best to save a charged Hadjoc for that. (especially if the little guy was as terrifying as hunters spoke of.) Quickly she eyed the ghoulish girl that had started attacking Candace after catching Aria's fire. "Look alive Candace-" she shouted and pulled the trigger but watched the arrow bend just far enough away from Shenny. Throughout everything, Amarus always endured. She had lasted through the questioning, as she thought it real at the time, made it through all of the fights, the lessons, the fire, the strange room that seemed to want to make her disappear forever-- Amarus had merely folded her hands into one of the many kuji-kiri at her disposal. They did not always enable her to focus her purpose of mind and body, but they served a unique purpose for the ghoul.
In this case, the cold fire was so freezing that she could not even move in the least. Not even to shut her eyes, which felt so cold that she would have thought herself stone. The frost sapped her energy, but not her will. Struggling internally, Amarus focused herself, as if focusing for a kuji-kiri, and struck out to move. She would triumph, no matter how much she was intended to just endure.
Besides, with someone like Faustus nearby to look out for her, and Olivia surely somewhere close as well... Amarus could not feel the full brunt of their situation. No matter what, she just had to hold onto them, right? A sentimentality she would never have embraced before.
"Let's get something spicy or whatever when we get out of here, right?" Amarus asked Faustus, as he struck out at the Hunter currently attacking her.
The Hunter, for her part, must have been distracted-- Amarus didn't afford her further attention just yet. She looked like she was in quite good health, and therefore Deryk was the ideal target rather than this new Hunter. If she had to go down, she would undoubtedly go down swinging.

Finally, that terrible burn started to fade, and Molly couldn’t help but shake her body entirely to try and ease the feeling. That small attack from Rafael didn’t phase her enough to change her target, and the Heir to Conquest was still in her sights. Aria was back and reinforced their mission now. Despite the new Hunter who'd begun to attack her for a bit of damage, Amarus focused her attention on Deryk once more. Although the room had become rather slippery, and her movement was slightly restricted given the paralyzed state she'd just broken out of, Amarus still found herself hitting Deryk with one of her rare kicks.

Once Herryk was freed from the ice, he heard Mort calling out. Not one to let a bro down, Herryk took a brief moment to point at Molly's freckled face before he gestured quickly towards Eva's dark head. "Either of these, Mort!" Once he was done offering his bro a few options, Herryk was right back in Candace's face. Fear shimmered around his arms and hands as he clenched his meaty paws into fists; big, beefy fists that promised pain and agony. He offered her a quick, "Hello again," before cocking back a fist, plowing it once more directly into her nose. The resounding sound of fist hitting flesh was pleasing to the draugr. He wanted to keep going; he wanted to mash her face into a gelatinous pile of bone and matter, and then he wanted to turn to the next false reaper that stood in his way. This was insane. There were way too many halloween people here. They were drastically outnumbered and quite frankly he was really wearing down as a result. The floor was slippery too. It was going to be hard to hit much of anything. And thus, he grabbed the barrier dagger he had picked up prior to coming to the islands and stabbed it down into the runed floor. A shield went up around him, Molly, and Eva. It was the least he could do, as well as give himself a bit of a breather before continuing with the fight. After that completely failed, Aksaja turned his attention back to the ghoul he'd been attacking at first, just as she turned her attention back to Invictus. She wanted to ignore him . . . ? Fine. He could take her out, then. However, just as he was spinning around to claw at her, the last of the ice under his turned to water and threw off his aim. Hiding behind barriers and then attacking from within them? It seemed typical, but Invictus knew better than to fight against a barrier, and with as slippery as the floor was.....

She watched the Hunter use some kind of... dagger? And would soon find out the effects of exactly what that was. While, unbeknownst to her, the hunter might feel outnumbered... there were so many Hunters around that Amarus felt the opposite. It was probably always going to be like that, given the fiercely conflicting nature between the Hunters and the Students; it was just that Amarus felt so unprepared as a first year student.
Hopefully it would not always feel this way. Although she might once have succeeded with the blow she'd aimed at Deryk, it hadn't quite worked given the icy floor. She turned to Auri, whom she remembered from the first week of classes, "I am admittedly surprised to see you fighting." Wasn't she complaining about who would carry her bags, on that first day? Not that Amarus disliked her; she thought the sibling pair was amusing, at the least.
Except the ghoul had smacked into an invisible barrier, which would probably have been what had happened to her if she hadn't missed altogether. That might make conversation difficult.

With a nod and a short saluting motion to his bro, Mort turned towards the two targets. Oh how his congealed blood boiled at the sight of that curly-haired hunter and her Jackawful long lance, but . . . it would be too hard to try and get another attack in. Soon though.
Mort did, however, take pause at the other available suggestion. The dark-haired ghoul hadn't been so bad, he grudgingly admitted, but . . . That barrier had to go down one way or another.
Of course, it would've helped if he didn't slip on the way there. Since when the hell did fire produce ice?!

From the corner of his eye, Aksaja saw the ghoul who'd hit him before go after Sheridan . . . and he swung around to switch his focus to her again. Sure, his lightning hadn't hit before, but he could bite her. Maybe.

As much as she had the chance to really observe what was going on, with the liquid and the hooded figure's reveal - though, she had no idea who this person was and if they were that important. Seemed that way. The tile that Olivia was on exploded right from under her, knocking her off her feet and skidding across the floor somewhat.
Being relatively small, the blast knocked her off her feet and skidding a few feet across the floor. Her vision was seeing stars once again and for some reason she.. could see... more.. flames? But they were blue but they felt cold. What.. did blue flames mean? Part of her wanted to run but... the other... didn't see the need.
There was ice on the ground too, which was reassuring. It was probably bad though, like how the flames had hurt Faustus.
Collecting her senses back, Olivia pushed herself up again, her body trembling even more than it had before. Her blue eyes looked desperately tired but they still looked about to locate Faustus and Amarus.
