Teal eyes blinked at the clarification from the new-face trainee and a gloved hand pressed against his face. For a moment it stayed there before he pulled his hand down. "Ah, my bad," he might have meant to ask if she was alright but ended up asking if she was hurt. Or the person pulling the metaphorical strings failed at reading comprehension.

"A couple of things," he began, "First: No "Sirs" when you call me or talk to me 'cuz that's just too ******** weird. Before is good, I totes prefer it. Second: Since the equipment here's wrecked, we're gonna go look for survivors once they get the barricade outta the way. Keep your partner summoned. We don't know what's on the other side or when another Yeti or killer-snow-goon might come charging in."

Rep was feeling particularly bitter at that moment in time, wrapped up as he was in his own confusing and irritating emotions, so the doctor's comment earned him a particularly irritated glare as Rep strongly considered throwing anything in his direction. He wasn't used to being sarcasmed at in the middle of a tantrum.

He settled instead for "Life leader, capable of stating the obvious." as he pouted, in the aftermath of his little outburst feeling a little foolish, a surefire sign he hadn't broken enough things.

"Why thank you that generous observation, William," the doctor's voice was mild and his smile remained typically unpleasant. "But don't let me distract you, there may be some nefarious chairs lurking about." He gave the redhead a little shooing motion, as the bulky trainee was currently blocking the leader's view of Clerise bending over.

Rep curled his lip at the doctor, utterly bristling to try and start something but deep in his fairly dim brain aware that doing so probably wouldn't be either /easy/ or have a pleasant outcome. Some people you just didn't try to get a rise out of, even if they did give you the horrible impression echo of people you hated dearly in the past.

"At least I've done /something/" he grunted as he nonetheless deferentially got out of his way, following his gaze to what he was blocking, only to raise a brow, roll his eyes and shake his head.

Robert was really starting to like Clerise. When the yeti showed up, he observed her standing there and staring at it. To be quite honest, he'd done the same. And the two of them stood there and watched trainee and mentor alike hurl themselves at it, while he scratched the back of his neck and made useless sounds of vague interest.

They were made for each other. In the strictest of work-related senses, of course.

He scratched his nose and leaned back slightly when the girl bent over to deal with something or other, and surreptitiously observed her some more.

"Aren't you glad you got the easy boss, Clerise?" He murmured, mostly to her butt.

"She's on alert. Eager to help." Bix nodded. Fini wasn't far away, still positioned between the holes that were currently being barricaded. The albino hunter was nearer to the barricaded door, the one they were trying to open, just in case there was something nefarious on the other side.

"That yeti was huge though. It clearly didn't make these holes. I think we need to be alert for something... smaller. Whatever destruction happened inside here wasn't done by any yeti."

Emma offered a small smile to the girl beside her. A fellow Moon Hunter, it seemed? She nodded then, looking over the boards, and gave them a good shake. Nothing fell in on them, so it was satisfactory. Maybe she could help teach some farm engineering to her comrades. ...was that in bad taste? She was very new. She contented herself to continue working on the defenses.

"Good point, and one I hadn't thought of." Jordan frowned at the holes in the wall. "Does something seem off about this to you? I can't pin down what's bugging me, but I feel like I'm missing something." He shook his head, then added, "And that fight was a mess. The one we took care of on the perimeter went more smoothly. I was able to direct and help them instead of everyone just charging in. This isn't a good time for a discussion, but I think we ought to call up the other intermediates later and talk roles and organization; if we're going to be in charge of squads like this again, we need to be better at directing the kids."

The kids? Ferros snickered. What are you, their deaddy? Who's the mummy?

Oh, shut up, Jordan growled. Or be helpful. Either way.

In the distance, there was a fresh rumble that sent snow cascading down from the roof of the facility.

If the Trainees were coming up with a plan of action.... they should act quickly. Something was coming.

Rep glanced up with a frown at the ceiling as a fine dusting of snow drifted down onto their heads, seemed the yeti wasn't the last of their problems, fantastic. At the very least, he told himself, it was an excuse to not have to ******** think about anything else. Imminent death had a tendency to sharpen the mind to a fine point. He still had Tracey summoned in his hands so at least this time he was armed for whatever was possibly going to hurtle into the building. Unless it was an avalanche, then he was ******** boned anyway.

Still, his instinct was to throw his attention to the other suns to see if he could tell from here what the plan was, there was a lot of things Rep was, but a loner wasn't actually one of them. When it came to fights, he was used to having a pack of sorts. He was just trying to get used to this particular one.

Candace accepted the pill with a quiet but very grateful thank you. She didn't seem to care at all that she didn't have water. She'd deal.

"You're the more experienced long range.." Candace nodded, looking to the three trainees. Cass had plenty of experience, but there were so many trainees in here that she didn't really need all of the trainees. "..Take Molly and Feng and check the roof. Being in here where it's calmer might be better for me, yeah. I'd hate to fall off the roof and--ugh they won't stop ringing.." She rubbed her head again with a groan. "As for coordination...I usua--...used..to be able to coordinate my attacks with Jerry so changing it to Mercedes' arrows instead of Roar's blasts will be a walk in the park." She stopped when she heard a smash, turning to watch the last few seconds of Rep teaching a desk who was boss.

Candace clapped. "Bravo, bravo~. Was there a monster in it? Good job, Rep." There was sarcasm coating every word, smirking at his interaction with H. Cute. Hm...would H answer a question that'd been bothering her since the yeti dissolved into snow? Couldn't hurt...

"Alright, so you go get Feng and Molly and I'll--" There was a faint rumbling sound, like a small avalanche. Candace didn't realize it was just the snow on the building but she heard the rumbling for sure. "...I take that back. You're staying in here. I'm going to go talk to Jordan, you're welcome to come along, Cass~." So much for talking to H. She felt a little disappointed about that. Oh well, there was always next time.

"Hey, Jordan!" Candace called out, stepping over and around debris to get to the Sun trainee. "I love mass chaos as much as the next person, but battle plans are a delight. Wouldn't you agree? I don't trust that yeti, there's something not right about it. Those creatures don't just... disintegrate like that. They go poof." She frowned.

Jordan turned, nodding distractedly to Candace. "I was just saying that," he agreed coolly. "I think on the whole it'll work better if we can direct the lambs, rather than simply wading in ourselves, though I recognize you didn't have that option - "

He stopped and blinked, several facts and impressions aligning with the recollection of two cryptic comments the previous night, coming together with a click in his head. Oh. ... If that was what was going on ... no, he needed to react just as he would if it was a normal mission. He could be wrong. And if he wasn't, he should still be treating it as normal, because this was a test. All told, it was a kinder one than being dropped into the abandoned town with nothing but guns and bats before bonding with their weapons.

He shook his head hard and looked up. "We should let the lambs handle it as much as possible anyway," he said. "It's good experience for them. How many has everyone got to keep an eye on? We can divide roles if necessary."

He paused, glanced to Rep. "And go easy on the idiot for a bit, I gave him some things to think about and I think he may actually be thinking about them, if that little demonstration was anything to go by," he said in an undertone.

Cass followed after Candace to go and talk with Jordan.

Put the Lambs to work? That..actually seemed like the smartest option, actually. "That's a good point. We should save our strength just in case. Plus this is supposed to be about them...... Between Sun and Acting-Mist, we have...five Trainees?" For a single Yeti, that...was probably plenty. That was assuming only one Yeti came, though.

Or if it was even a Yeti.

Five trainees and four Intermediate Trainees. That was plenty. Now if they didn't have the other divisions' trainees suddenly jumping in on things, that'd probably streamline stuff a bit...

"Yeah it..I don't...like the look it gave me when it looked like it was about to eat my face off, either." Candace crossed her arms and glanced toward the entrance the yeti had made for itself, shifting her weight from one foot to the other. She wanted to stay back. She wouldn't be a helpful fighter if she really did have a concussion from slamming into the wall. "Yeah, Cass and I have three Mists. Gale's got two of our Mists as well. I think I heard Before telling Sasha not to fight, so that's two less. Clerise and Robert don't seem to be doing any fighting either." Candace shrugged. They were Life, they didn't need to fight. "And Marcus told the Moons not to worry about fighting either..five trainees should be enough. Mercedes is long ranged, two crossbows. Molly and Feng are both melee. William's melee, too...what's your other trainee?" Please be long ranged please be long ranged..!

Candace hummed. "I'm cool with hanging back for the next one if it happens again." Though at Jordan's gentle warning Candace looked surprised. Did he? Well then! That was good to hear. "Not a problem. I just hope that desk didn't have like..anything important in it before he destroyed it." She shrugged.

"Five overall - that sounds manageable. If the Moon and Life squads stay back, we should be able to direct ours without getting in one another's way." Jordan grimaced. "Next mission we've got advance warning, I'm making sure we've got headsets." He looked to Candace and Cass. "One of you mind telling Marcus and Robert what's up when we're done here so we don't have sudden conflicts?"

"I'm not sure about Infinity; I haven't seen her summon. That's another thing, damn. Way under-prepared," he muttered to himself. Candace's comment about the yeti just made him more certain that his private theory about the situation was correct. He'd keep it to himself and hope that any of the other Strays who came to the same conclusion had the sense to do the same.

He shrugged. "If it did - well, it's a pretty clean slice. I'm just trying to give him a little time with nobody to get pissed at besides himself. If he can turn it outwards again he can blow it off without as much consideration."
