[Ferven: Land of Departure: Intermediate Magic Class]

Ferven scratched his head again. "Math? How'd you get math out of it? I was just saying looking how it turned and judging off of that. Like um...how sometimes a gun gets fired, and the bullet peels to the left a little. Just a matter of aim adjusting over math...unless you use math to do that for yourself. Then I got nothing."

He ignored the jab at Mizu's aim. Because he kind of thought it might be true. The best bet would be something that's a bit easier to follow. "Got anything a bit less zappy and speedy? Maybe a Fire or Blizzard?" He grinned a bit sheepishly. "Sorry, I can't remember all of what ya do. I've met a lot of other people, after all, can't remember all the spells they know."

[Artemis :: Land of Departure :: Advanced Combat Class]

Artemis stumbled slightly as he felt his opponent's boot get him square in the backside, and he couldn't help but feel his cheeks flare up in shame. He knew what physical battle was, he knew how to control the field. Just because it wasn't his specialty, now he's being told Battle 101 knowledge!?

The mage growled, unsummoning then resummoning his staff in its complete form. He casually began to spin the staff, eyes peering down at his opponent in his defensive stance.

"Summon your weapon, please..." He hissed, saying nothing more to the dragoon.

[Alliyah .:. Land of Departure .:. Intermediate magic class]

Alliyah rushed down the hallway, a mass of red fur trailing not far behind. Damn it! I never oversleep! Master Aqua will surely have my head for this! she thought.
Panting beside her, Tod just managed to keep up. Alliyah, could we slow down for a moment?! Surely Aqua won't be too upset!
Alliyah came to a halt. "Oh sorry. Here." She lowered herself down and Tod climbed up on her shoulders. She continued to walk until coming to the training room door.
Peering in, she waited until Aqua wasn't paying attention and slipped in quietly. She noticed a girl practicing a shield spell. Cloe was it? She seemed to be struggling under the pressure. Across the room, she noticed two other students practicing team magic. And another hopping about on platforms.
She wandered behind the boy Ferven...yes I remember, it's Ferven and caught the last bit of his question. Sheepishly, she mentioned "I have something that's like...fire".
Tod popped off quietly There you go, that's how you make friends!

~~ Shion: Land of Departure:: Intermediate Magic Class~~~
Aqua’s encouragement stirred her spirits, and Shion grabbed her phantasmal sword, slashing once to the side- and in doing so, a secondary one appeared, following the 1st ones lead.
She pivoted on her singular platform, trying a few of her basic stances, slashing and slashing- another sword eventually took shape and followed the dance of the 2nd and third.

Shion kept it like this for now, focusing on keeping them solid and steady while jumping around on the platform, and the wall. Leaping off its surface she crouched against a rock to her right, jumped in a backwards flip and landed safely back on the platform.
She practiced this again and again.
It was amazing what a little encouragement did to her performance, but Shion tried not to go overboard with any theatrics.

Meanwhile

(( Cloe / Kingdom Academy/ Intermediate Magic Class))
The girl’s cheeks were a nice shade of cheery as she jumped up and down and ran around in circles behind her protective barrier. She tested it’s surface again, pushing against it with her hands to make sure it was an actual solid wall.

To her delight it was steadfast and she puffed her chest out in pride.

“Ready! Let’s try it again!” she looked around for someone to throw something at her to test the barrier strength. She had the face of a child happy to show a parent something they made.
“Ready, ready!” she kept cheering, waving her hands in the air encapsulated by her protective wall.

(Notice from the Boss Lady [aka me]: Guys, I'd like to point out that Aqua is holding her class outside today. Sorry for any confusion. Any walls are cliff walls, but there's no actual room or doors at the moment. I'll go back and edit my one post where I mentioned a room, that was my continuity error. And if y'all could go back and edit any of your references to an actual room, that'd be awesome, but not necessary. Again, sorry for the confusion!)

{Master Aqua, Mizu .:. Land of Departure .:. Intermediate Magic Class}

"I don't know!" Mizu said, exasperated, though more with herself than with Ferven. "I just know that somehow my brain said 'figuring out a curve equals math!'" She clicked her tongue and regarded the boxes in the gravity field again, considering her arsenal of spells. When Alliyah joined in the conversation, Mizu looked over, and grinned in welcome.

"Oh, I've got a Fire spell. Blizzard, too," she said by way of greeting. "But those are already at the -ra levels. I wanna build Thunder up. By the way, suck with names, you're Lee, right? Liya? Leia?"

Aqua hadn't missed the fact that one of her students was late—or that she tried to sneak in. However, she decided to address the issue once she'd made her rounds back to the group Alliyah had decided to join. No sense calling the poor girl out and potentially embarassnig her; anything could have caused the delay. Though if Ferven was going to start being an influence on her, she might need to start worrying.

"Good, Shion. Keep practicing. I'll be back to see how you're doing," the blue-haired Master said with a reassuring smile. She heard Cloe's excited shouting, and as Mizu wasn't blowing anything up again (yet), she went back to the fae girl. She examined the shield with a critical eye, and nodded. Cloe was a good, eager student, and seemed to have taken Aqua's previous advice to heart.

"Much better, Cloe," she praised, as she sent a repeat of the Thunder spell that had popped the previous shield. This one held, and Aqua smiled at her student. "Now, can you cast a spell while holding the shield? Cast your Cure on this bush here. I know it's not a person, but you should still see the spell glow if you can cast it."

[Alliyah /. Land of Departure /. Intermediate Magic Class]

Alliyah smiled. "Well that's ok...I don't quite remember yours either" She laughed nervously. "I'm Alliyah", she bowed "and the furball here is Tod."
Tod bowed as well and said "Hello there" with a warm smile.
"By the way, I learned Thundara last year if you need some pointers"

[Ferven: Land of Departure: Intermediate Magic Class]

Ferven turned to look at the girl that mentioned a 'fire-like' spell. And drew a blank for a name, though he was pretty sure he'd seen her somewhere before. Mizu started listing off names, and...none of them rang a bell for him...but that trouble was over once the girl said her name. Alliyah? Oh, that's right, he'd definitely heard the name before.

"Alliyah! I...have a horrible memory!" He grinned, rubbing the back of his neck before wincing and returning focus to the gravity field, seeing as how he started to notice the objects dipping to almost hit the floor. "Whoops."

Once they were floating properly again, he rolled his shoulder in a shrug. "Well, if either one of you wants to give a spell a shot, it's there. Miiiight wanna hurry though. Not exactly a magical beast, here, after all."
PostPosted: Sun Sep 21, 2014 6:19 pm

Alliyah smiled and bowed. "Allow me."
She drew one of her katanas from her side and stood there casually while focusing her magic energy. Then she took a few steps to the side, trying to imagine the angle that the ball would go at after hitting the field. Once she was charged up, she pointed her sword straight at the field. A ball of light began to form at the tip, burning like fire. She swung her sword around her and flung the ball of white fire at the field.
The ball hung there in the gravitational pull of the field. It burned brightly in the center. The only question on her mind was "What's it gonna do when the field is dismissed? "

[Ferven: Land of Departure: Intermediate Magic Class]

Watching that little ball of white fire float in his field, Ferven just kind tilted his head in confusion. "Huh...." That didn't go exactly like he expected. Though, now that he had something else floating around in his field, he felt a bit more strain against his magic. Or rather, a bigger draw.

"Oi, Mizu. If you're gonna do something, miiiiight want to make it quick. Like really quick. No seriously this is all about to drop.

[ Cael : Land of Departure : Advanced Combat Class ]

"Yessir," he responded casually, the spear reappearing in his hands as he dropped down once again into his own defensive stance, the spear tip pointed down into the ground.

His eyes narrowed somewhat suspiciously at the young man. His mood had changed. Anger tended to change strategy in a drastic manner; either they started making even more careless mistakes, or they achieved a cold, calculating clarity. Cael was curious which it would be for Artemis.

(Notice from the Boss Lady [aka me]: I'm going to be working on a time-skip soon. I should have it up by Christmas. Key word: should. We'll see how crazy the holiday season gets. Also, sorry for my absence. It's not that I don't love you guys, it's that I got a new job that's crazy nuts now that I'm out of training [five people taking over for thirteen in an interstate transition {and by interstate I don't mean highway, I mean between states} is not a good idea], and then my roommate decided to start exercising and I joined her and holy balls do my thighs hurt, and now I have a D&D campaign on Mondays. I'm sorryyyyyyyy!!! DX)

{Master Aqua, Mizu .:. Land of Departure .:. Intermediate Magic Class}

Well, she wanted to practice her Thunder spells more. This was a golden opportunity to do so. And since now she saw how a Fire spell behaved in the Gravity field, she had no need to cast one of her own.

Fumbling a little, Mizu cast a hasty Thunder bolt, and with her forehead creasing deeply as she frowned in concentration, she split it into three. Two of the bolts went wide off their mark, one scorching the floor and the other the mountain face behind the field, but the third hit its intended target, and one of the wooden boxes exploded into splinters.

"I did it!" the petite blonde exclaimed, jumping in place a bit as the splinters rocketed towards the edge of the gravity field. "…uh-oh. DUCK!!!"

(Alliyah .:. Land of Departure .:. Intermediate Magic Class)

The fireball dispersed after being hit by the thunder strike. The fire circle hung in the gravity field, but just barely. It wanted to continue outwards but the gravity pulling it in kept I from doing so. Suddenly, the splinters from he box flew straight through the gravity field, and thus, became flaming arrows of death.
"Yipe! Hit the deck!" Tod yelled.
Alliyah hit the ground hard as the flaming splinters came towards the group.

[Ferven: Land of the Departure: Intermediate Magic Class]

Ferven grunted as the flaming splinters started to fly. He pumped more magic into his field in an attempt to stop them from being damaging. But all he could manage to do was slow them down before he ran out of magic. Which left him with no magic left, dropping the remaining crate and letting the splinters fly freely.

He dove, right into Mizu, landing on top of her in an attempt to dive to safety. Of course, all that did was shield her from any flying shrapnel...well, she did have a guy randomly fly onto her, so that probably wasn't pleasant.

{Master Aqua, Mizu .:. Land of Departure .:. Intermediate Magic Class}

Aqua whipped around at the sound of several of her students yelping—some calling to "duck" and "hit the deck." She cast Barrier on the trio of students who were causing the commotion, and a few Aeros to absorb or deflect the flaming debris from the rest of the class. She was unsurprised to find that the usual suspects, Mizu and Ferven, were in the thick of it. When Ferven collided with Mizu and the much smaller girl let out a startled "wumph" as the air was knocked out of her, the two Barriers combined into one. Unfortunately, Mizu's two chipmunk Galiants were sent flying by the impact, and landed several feet away.

"Pardon me a minute, Cloe," the blue-haired woman said. She calmly walked towards the group, forcing back a smile as Mizu displayed her usual impertinence and hit Ferven upside the head as she tried to extract herself from under him.

"Get off of me, you big oaf!"

"Are you all okay?" Master Aqua asked, offering a hand to help Alliyah to her feet and dispelling the Barriers now that flying chunks of wood weren't endangering her students any longer. Her voice held more of amusement than anything, but she was genuinely concerned. She didn't think anyone had been injured, but she had to make sure.

(Alliyah .:. Land Of Departure .:. Intermediate magic class)

Alliyah was rubbing her head from when she hit the floor and looked up to see Aqua and smiled sheepishly. She took her hand and hoisted herself up. "Thanks, I'm okay."
Tod was patting a small flame out on his tail. He did so while grumbling to himself. "...I should have just stayed in the forest, yup. Then perhaps I wouldn't become a roast...".
