"Oh...nothing." she replied. Taking a bite of her mashed potato bowel. "Airports just...drive me nuts. And I kind of left my passport at home." she mumbled.

Lucas laughed, shaking his head. "Alex... passports are for travel between different countries. We're in the US, still gonna be in it. We just need to buy tickets and use 'em to get on the earliest flight to New York. That's all."

Alex let out a disgruntled little noise as she continued eating her bowel. Well...guess there was no trying to get out of it. She hated airports. She'd sooner walk back and forth between cities again. No. Second thought...she wanted to wear Batman's suit again. That kind of flying she could do.

Lucas snickered, finished his food after a while, and then, after putting his trash away and going to the bathroom to wash his hands and change into his new clothes he waited for Alex.

Alex didn't get as much food as he had, so she finished not very long after he did. That was even with trying to slow down her eating. She grumbled to herself a bit, then dumped her trash and headed to the bathroom as well. Not to wash her hands, but to change into her new clothes.

As Lucas waited, he started to think. Maybe Captain Marvel could help them out, get them to New York via teleportation or something...

After a while, Alex emerged from the bathroom. New jeans, new boots, new tops, and glasses over her eyes. She kept her jewelry on, but stuffed the rest of her old clothes in her bag. "Alright..." she said with a small frown. "Let's get going..."

Lucas smiled and led the way out of the KFC. "You know," he said, "if you really don't want to go to an airport... I can see if Captain Marvel can teleport us or something. Or maybe Captain Cosmos."

Alex paused a moment and looked at him. The look in her eyes unreadable behind the glasses. "Do you....think they could do that? I mean it would cut back on waiting and waiting for...erm. I mean that could cut back on time if they can."

Lucas shrugged, and called out as Captain Marvel flew by. The veteran hero landed, and smiled.
"So, did the date go well?" he jibed, and Lucas rolled his eyes.
"Hey Cap, can we ask you something? Can you, like, teleport us to New York or something?" he asked, and Marvel frowned.
"Sorry Lucas, I don't think so," Marvel replied, then he narrowed his eyes and stroked his chin, looking at Lucas intently.
"Hey, Lucas, I want to show you something..." he said, and then he shouted: "SHAZAM!" The mystical lightning came down and struck him again, causing Lucas to have to shield his eyes. When it cleared, Lucas looked... and his jaw dropped. In Captain Marvel's place was... a fifteen-year-old kid.
"Ta-da!!" Billy Batson said, grinning widely. "This is the real me, when I'm not Captain Marvel."
"I... What... You're a kid?!" Lucas yelled in shock. When Billy nodded, still grinning, Lucas totally flipped out.
"Ah, so you're the guy who took on that giant dude that tried to kill me?! A kid did it?! And all he did to get into that form was say 'Shazam'--"
A bolt of lightning hit Lucas the moment he said the word, and when it was finished, he was wearing a crimson-and-gold suit with a lightning bolt as it's logo and a white cape with gold trim. His muscles were now even more developed, on the level of superhumanly so.
"HOLY FU--!!"
"Watch your language, Mister!" Billy said chidingly, but he still fistpumped the air nonetheless. "Ha! I knew it! Your heart is pure enough to possess the power of Shazam!"
Lucas, overwhelmed, jumped into the air-- and stayed there. "Ha... hahaha!! I can FLY! WOOOOO!!!!!" he called out, flying higher into the air at an astonishing speed and circling the entire city in less than a minute. Billy just grinned, his arms folded, as he watched the young hero test it out.

Alex just stood in place and stared. Gradually sliding her glasses up to stare on with wide eyes. "......uh...." was all she could manage. A...kid? Just a kid? And with one word, the suit, and the flying, and...
"wow." Just wow.

After another lap around Keystone, Lucas floated down to the ground in front of Billy and Alex. "This is... amazing! But... I dunno if I'd like being this way forever."
"That's okay, Lucas. I'd advise not being in it for long, either; me and my sister both use the power of Shazam, and the more people using it at one time, the more the power is divided among them. Mary and I both need to have our power at it's highest, so I'd suggest de-powering once you get to New York, and to only use it when there is a threat you can't handle in your normal form." Billy replied, and Lucas nodded before looking to Alex. "Want a free trip to New York, Miss?" he asked with a grin.

Alex paused and stared at him for a long moment. Then, calmly, she folded up her dark glasses and slipped them into her backpack. She looked back up at him with a large grin on her face. "Now this..." she purred. "Is the only way I fly."
