[HP: 15 D8]
"You used to... Be like us? How could you be... Transformed?" She frowned, eyes widening as she refused to fall despite feeling her strength slipping away, her FEAR being drained from her again. Placing the end of her wooden bat on the ground, she used it to prop herself up as she eyed the figure warily, not quite sure if she had interpreted his words correctly... A tragic story with a good ending?
He could be talking about himself, as well as those hooded figures that had attacked them with those FEAR-draining weapons.
"Mandy's right - I doubt you have the right to deem us as the abominations and monstrous little creeps," Her frown deepened, "And I won't allow myself or anyone else for that matter to end up like you... If anything, feeding off our FEAR... You might just be the abomination." She nodded at Petro at his words, agreeing with him.
... Turning into that; was this what the odd visions meant when they said that they would end up with a fate worse than death?

(( HP: 6 ))
Sheridan had barely managed to keep his feet under him, his body now crouched to brace himself with a hand on the floor. Oh god, he could barely see straight anymore, his vision clouded by exhaustion. His tail was on fire, his sense of balance completely thrown. It was all he could do to not collapse there where he was.
His book had landed somewhere out of reach, where was it? He would have to fight with his bare hands then, or that had been his intention. But he found he had no energy left to stand upright, no strength left to attack. He was forced to hang back, not for lack of will to fight, but lack of strength.
Come on Sheridan, get up, you can't leave your friends to fight alone.

((HP: 12, idek how I got so low, GOD RILEY))
There it was again. Something indescribably alluring about the future this reaper was promising. There was something intrinsically wrong about all of this, she knew it. She knew that somewhere, deep down, they had to win this fight. That was the right thing to do.
Riley had never, until she had first entered Amityville, wanted to do anything that a typical being could consider right.
Her eyes flickered to Malodore for just a moment. There was something in her eyes, something apologetic. It alone knew her greatest desires, and the idea of balancing the world under her rule, of saving it, just as this reaper promised.. those primal, original emotions within her stirred once more. She shuddered helplessly.
Her weapon lowered and rested carefully against her side. IF they won this fight, then so be it. They would go back to school, and return to their normal lives. She would accept that fate, and find her own victory in her own time, as she'd planned. If they didn't.. she started to doubt her convictions. Her internal conflict remained internal - she said nothing. Her fellow students taunted, cried out for explanation, or screamed angrily - but she fell silent.
For once, Riley had nothing to say.

That last attack felt like it took quite a bit out of himself. Backing off again, Jericho gritted his teeth while staring at the Reaper. He wanted to take him down, but he wouldn't be able to keep up striking like this. Still... he had to try.
The things the guy had said had him wondering as well.
So this was the one who wrote the notes after all, or at least he was like that kid. This talk of creating balance... that must be referring to its ability to absorb their FEAR. Even so, this guy was pissing him off the more he spoke.
"You think we'll end up like you? JUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK WE ARE?" he shouted.
((HP:16 Edit - nevermind the dice, I thought it was a new round. XD))

Jack, this was turning into a repeat of Christmastown, at least so far as how hurt he was. Dammit . . . But at least they were getting information for their trouble. At least somewhat. And now some of the others were stumbling, hanging back and not even trying to attack the reaper . . . thing. Whatever it was.
"I'll never end up like you are," Aksaja snarled, charging the thing again with his pipe raised. His own exhaustion and injuries made the lightning dragon stumble to his knees a few feet away from his goal, however, breathing hard. Ah Jack he couldn't go out like this . . . no . . .

((HP: 19 - 4 = 15))
Weaker and weaker was the feeling coursing through Charlie like a sickness. The pink haired demon who usually was a cheery if not almost clueless comic relief didn't have the strength to be a dumb a** at the moment. Instead Charlie feel his knees give out and for probably one of the few times in history there was a very serious look on his face. It wasn't so much that he was being attacked, even though fear draining went over his head as far as understanding what was happening, it was more so that all his friends and fellow class mates had to suffer as well.
Anger pulsed through Charlies body as he could only kneel. Once he caught his breath again the demon was going to let that hooded figure have it. He didn't even want to steal that hoodie anymore. He just wanted this figure to go away. But no words or even grunts of anger passed through Charlies lips. The small pink haired demon felt to weak for such things.

((Malodore's HP: 18))
The wave of FEAR-stealing licked at the plague doctor, though it didn't seem to affect it as badly as it did some of the others; Malodore tensed as it watched the other students wobble. But there was nothing it could do about it just yet... and what their opponent had said seemed most interesting.
"Did you write that book?" it asked, raising its voice so as to (hopefully) be heard. "And this?" It pulled out the one note it had kept on its person, the first one they had found in the lighthouse.

Arachne wobbled on her feet as yet more of her Fear slipped away, drained by their opponent. Bad enough that her second attack had been as damaging as the first - ie not at all, she was now feeling, as she was sure everyone else was, weaker after every attack.
She looked around, and then at their attacker, recovering enough to speak; 'And if we had been had left alone, then we may not even crossed paths. All these hooded figures, including yourself, you all made the first moves.'

Sepheran hissed lightly wobbling a bit from all the fear draining he went through. "Not like we had a choice on where we go for field trips, or even a say in whether we want to or not. We want to go home just as bad as you want us gone...I'm not about to let someone tell me I can't go back now. We're monsters, we'll forge our own paths!" Sepheran growled as he lifted his wooden blade once more.
He didn't know how much he could hold out...but if they manged to beat this figure in time..maybe they might make it out before reinforcements arrived. Summoning up every last bit of strength he could muster Sepheran slashed once more, after all even the weak grow strong when they are cornered.

Stage 3 Fight! The onslaught of attacks and questions had weakened the reaper to the point of barely being able to stand. The spear was the only thing keeping them up now, and they leaned on it heavily, panting and out of breath but strangely not upset. "Me? You...heh...owshit...ha...think I was referring to myself?" Their shoulders shook for a moment and then slumped, "I'd...laugh menacingly....at this...but I'd probably...just choke on blood." It sighed and tapped the shaft of his weapon, "Not me... him." Gathering the last of his strength, the figure hefted the spear up and then slammed it down with a resounding CRACK! A shining teal wall sprang up and surrounded him. HP: 14 Round 2 Choice A barrier has risen up around the enemy, weakening your attacks! NEW ROLL: roll 2 4-sided dice and subtract 6! Do you attack or hang back? - roll for attack, you may attack once this round - bold hang back if your character chooses not to fight this round - bold exposition if you want to cue a villain speech instead

((HP: 12 No damage))
An unnerving calm had been keeping Riley quiet this entire time. She listened well, and for the moment, she had thought that she had figured things out.
Then, upon hearing the answer their opponent gave, her view of the fight twisted dramatically. Her eyes rounded, turning slowly to look at the weapon as it was raised and brought down. She understood what was being said, but she couldn't say it. She couldn't force herself to say it out loud. She was sure that someone else would, but until then, something inside her refused to believe that the weapon.. used to be..
Her weapon flared to life beside her once more. Oh, no. She finally seethed. You had me at power. You really did. But turning us into weapons? Riley lifted her mace and pointed it directly at the reaper. Nobody uses me as a weapon. It's the other way around.
She lunged at the figure and attacked, but it was heavily shielded, and she found herself useless against it's protection. This was going to be a problem..

"That weapon?!"
Despite her weakening self, Lizzy still found the strength to yell that out - her eyes widened, and then quickly narrowed as she glared at the figure; she had never felt so upset - no, disgusted - before. It didn't help that Charlie was down on the floor. Poor, sweet Charlie... She frowned, grip tightening around her weapon; wow. WOW. They really have to take him down and beat him up so bad, chocking on his own blood would be the last thing he has to worry about.
Raising her wooden bat, she brought it down on the reaper; the shield that had appeared around the figure, however, was as sturdy as it looks and her hit did no damage to the opponent.
"Ugh..." She staggered backwards, eying the shield from a distance; this would take some time...

Sharra had been just about to attack the other again...when he faltered, just staring at the other for a long moment...his claws falling short. "You...he...was turned into a weapon!?" That was intensely disconcerting, and altogether unfair....is that what they had planned for the students? To turn them all into weapons!? How was that even possible? Ah Jack... Whitening slightly, the boil straightened, green eyes narrowing. Now...they had all the more reason to take these bastards down. "You all sicken me..." He growled, baring his claws again.
They couldn't be taken here...that would be...the fate that the voices talked about, after all.

Petro almost had no strength left in him but when the barrier was raised, the tikbalang had to stop himself from charging and ramming his shoulder against it. His muscles ached and it was getting harder and harder to keep a firm grip on his mace.
"Him? Who's this him y're talking about?" He demanded, punctuating each word with a blow that barely scratched the barrier's surface. Could Petro be demanding for an exposition or could he just be trying to hide how weak he felt.
