Luferius could not help but smirk at Damien's words, not missing the man's gesture. "Perhaps you are right, my friend. However our recent situations have had me on edge and it is not easy to be a gentleman when under such circumstances." Looking curiously at the new captain, Luferius raised an eyebrow. He had known Damien to be quite proficient when it came to wooing a lady. "How do you accomplish it, Damien? How is it that you are so easily able to converse with women?"

Luferius frowned as he took this information in. "I see. That may prove to be difficult indeed." As a member of the Royal Guards for most of his unnatural life, he had been taught to be strict and not let any sign of weakness show. Sitting down on a nearby chair, the vampire put a thoughtful hand to his chin. "I can pay compliments easily enough, though it may take work to deliver it in such a manner as you do."

"I'm not too aware of much in the way of love in this kingdom. I don't even think the previous Lord had ever been married or came close to it. As for the present, I can only think of one couple that is currently residing in the castle. They seemed quite enamored with each other at the Vernal Equinox. A fox and a fallen if my memory holds true." Luferius also looked up at the doors to the room. Tuomas was taking much longer than he had expected. "This Kingdom has been in existence for quite some time, though I think the first records of history date back about 5 millenia."

Luferius nodded, leaning over the table and folding his hands in front of him. "It is quite a puzzle to say the least. I do not think he would dare try to move her out of the kingdom. The pendant simply would not allow that for one this young. As soon as Tuomas comes back, we will have much more to work with. There have been rumors circulating that remnants of the former rulers blood crystals are all pieced together to form the details in that pendant. If that is the case, it would be child's play to track that power." The mention of Ryn and Nyx caused Luferius' countenance to darken. "Yes, Ryn is nothing more than a fool. A pathetic cur who seems only capable of snarling. It would be best to have him put down quickly. If Nyx were wise, she would dispose of him herself. However I have my suspicions that she keeps him around for more than just guard duty."

"Yes, it would prove to be quite the spectacle, and perhaps boost moral for the troops. If it proved possible to defeat one of Nyx's prized possessions, imagine what else may be so easily accomplished." Luferius grinned, as though a certain victory were evident in his recent future.

"Damien, I feel that you have done most excellent in everything you have accomplished. You are ready now. Never in my years of service have I met a more competent individual nor a more trustworthy ally. You will make a most excellent Captain." He nodded to Damien in approval before chuckling. "You need not worry. I do not die easily."

Giving a hearty laugh, the vampire shook his head. "You do not live this long without learning a few tricks to stay alive. My powers have grown through centuries of training, and I will not allow myself to die so easily."
