"Should we wake him. . . .?" The speech resembled the crashing of rocks, rolling of gravel. Musica stirred, but didn't move. It felt like he was laying on a firm ground, not entirely solid. "Careful," whispered another voice, this one gurgling and popping softly like a river We almost lost the ominous feel because of you. Do you know how hard I worked for him to take us seriously?" "Probably not as hard as I was working your-" Ladies, please! roared a third voice, crackling wood cutting across the rock slide. "We have a job to do, yes?" It was silent for a moment, leaving Musica to think: Who are these clowns. . . .? There was nothing but blackness. Surprise. . . . "Yes." The first voice coughed and spoke with drawn out words, attempting (and failing) to sound dark, vague, and mystic. Find our temples~ Gain our power to awaken your own~ Save sexy women who will get on their knees for you to save them~ Ooooo~ "Grow up. . . ." Gurgled the second voice, accompanied with a splash after which the First crashed out an "OW!" "The closest temple in mine, right here in Mist Village. The Temple of Zhu Rong. GO FORTH, AND FIND YOUR DESTINY~~!!"

Musica opened his eyes, the words of Zhu Rong echoing in his mind. I hate you. . . .. The boy sat up and rubbed his eyes, noticing that all of his burns from earlier were gone. Even his previously singed pants were back to normal. Musica crossed his legs, noting how comfortable the flower was, and looked around. When he saw Saikoro, the boy's face split into a grin. "Hey, Snake-eyes." He called to the man, leaning back to see him better. "That was a fun show. May I know where you're headed?"

Saikoro let out a stifled yawn as he turned to face the boy with a lazy gaze, "Oh? You're finally awake." The man said with a soft grin as he shifted the weight off of his leg and leaned back onto his hands, his eyes moving back to stare at the setting sun. The glistening mist that clung to the air made the scene carry an ominous feel as the world around them darkened slowly and the haze sunk into a gray darkness. "Snake-eyes, hunh? That's an interesting name, I can dig it... Anyways, no where important for the time being. The Chuunin Exams are at the end of the month, so those are currently my only plans. Why do you ask?"

Musica closed his eyes and lightly scratched the back of his head, his grin shrinking down to more of a nervous smile. "Well, I was wondering if I can come along?" Is this guy not even a Chunin? Had me fooled. . . . He chuckled nervously and looked back at Sai, his eyes eager. I was wondering if you could teach me, as well. Help me become stronger and all of those other cliche`s." The crash of waves on the shore were drowned out by Musica's heart, which was beating harder than any drum. If he had to be honest, he would have to say that he had never truly been out of Mist Village before. Which would have utterly embarrassing, so he hoped he wouldn't have to. "I doubt I'm anywhere near as strong as anyone else in your group, but I can learn fast. Honest! just one thing, though." Musica chuckled softly again, only barely covering his nervousness. If I can go with you, I need to make a side trip before we leave. Nothing big. Just need to stop at the Temple of Zhu Rong."

-It was a nice day and Soul had been refining his skills everyday. He could feel himself growing stronger and knew that the day would soon come when his mentor Sai would return to the village.-

Soul Opened his eyes and saw the misshapen room configured before him. With a blur to his vision everything was an off white and nothing had distinct characteristics. After wiping his eyes he could make out the clothes on the floor, the mask that hung on the coat hanger along with his shinobi headband and jacket. After getting dressed and grabbing his gear for a hard training session Soul walked out the door to his home. Under the disguise of Kira Moto Soul has made a place for himself within the Mist villiage. Now with the chunin exams coming soon, it was time to start training harder than ever.

Soul made his way through the village leaping from building to building summersaulting as he went to help build agility, leg strength, and to just plain out look cool. When he reached the cliff he jumped over without a moments hesitation. Just as he and Sai had done months before he landed on strategic boulders on the way and hit the sand with a role to help continue the movement and cusion his landing. Though when he rose and looked up, what he saw was unexpected. "Saikoro.. You're back!" Soul walked to his side and noted the presence of another. With the way he was standing it was apparent he wasn't any harm, and even bore the mist village shinobi headband. Soul gave Sai a look as if to say 'Who's this guy?'. Then brushed the sand from his shoulders.

Saikor's eyes fell the boy once more, their glare cold and withdrawn as they moved along his form trying to absorb what he was saying through sight. For a long while they lingered on his hands as though the digits that were attached to them were speaking secrets that could only be understood by watching them intently. Finally he turned his eyes back onto the eyes of the red headed boy before speaking, "You want to join my team? And you are asking me another favor on top of that?" The man questioned, the arch of his eyebrows curving up curiously as his eyes refused to hold any warmth in them at all. "Sure, on one condition. Prove to me you can make the cut..." The man said simply.

A wolfish grin spread across his lips allowing his canines to slip over viciously as he pushed himself up to his feet and turned just in time as the short boy approached him, "Yep, yep. Just got back a few hours back and I have a few things I think you'd be interested in hearing about~ But that's beside the point." The man said as he nodded at his friend's questioning gaze. Turning to face Musica, who was still in the root's flower, Saikoro made a rough gesture with his thumb, "This kid wants to prove that he can make it on our team so we're gonna have a nice little bout. From what I can tell you two are polar opposites but both revolve around ninjutsu... Bah, you guys don't need to know my analysis. You have thirty minutes, defeat the other in a spar, the only thing off limits is killing." Saikoro said sternly, his expression still mischievous but his tone hinting at nothing but seriousness. 'Take it easy on him, he's just out of the academy but don't underestimate him either, he's already gotten one good strike on me.' Saikoro whispered into Kira's ear as he walked past him and towards the beach, stopping only to call out to Musica, "Unless coming with me and being on the team isn't worth it too you, kid? You can always back out."

Musica met Saikoro's freezing glare unflinchingly. Which actually surprised Musica, considering how badly he wanted to run and hide from the man before him. It was odd, feeling so bold without reason. It wasn't exactly uncommon knowledge that Saikoro could beat, even kill, Musica. But this was an opportunity to grow and live an actual life, and he used that determination to brace himself against Saikoro's gaze. And I'll be damned if I let this chance fly by.

Musica hopped from the tulip, the sand on the shore cushioning the impact. The young ninja began to stretch as the flower slowly sank down into the ground, as if the sand were eating the plant petal by petal. Musica eyed the newcomer as he lowered down into a half split. "My name's Musica." He called cheerfully, his eyes closing as he smiled casually. Despite having just fought, Musica felt refreshed and full of energy. The boy rose and stretched his arms above his head. "It's going to be a pleasure to get to know you."

Soul listened carefully to Sai's orders. It was clear that the boy wasn't just a normal child. Even if he was just a fresh genin it was still a great feat to land anything on Sai. Soul cracked his neck by rotating his head from left to right. Then began to crack his knuckles. He felt alive. It was a good while since his last fight, and he never got to take part in it. Now was his chance to try out all that he had been training for, to see what the fruits of his hard work were.

As Soul stretched he watched the boy step from the petal and drop into a half split. Soul cocked his head slightly to the side, 'This certainly is a peculiar boy. Something seems odd about him.. his flexibility? No, I think it's the way he moves. There's a rhythmic fluidity to it. Kinda gives me the creeps.' Soul lowered his head in a nod as to say he was acknowledging the boy, "The name is Kira, Kira Moto. I'm pleased to meet you as well. As for getting to know you, Let's leave that to our fists." Soul held a cocky smirk on his face as he thought simply to himself, 'I've always wanted to say something bad a** like that..' Soul lowered himself into a fighting stance and allowed his opponent to draw out the first move.

Musica grinned and lowered his arm, quickly running his eyes over Kira. "I was going to say the exact same thing," the shinobi said as he made eye contact with his opponent, his determined look erupting with blue flames. " But I didn't, because it sounded cliche` and un-cool." Joking aside. Saikoro said we were the same, but opposite. Musica's legs and feet slowly gathered chakra as the boy thought. Does that mean that this kid fights at long range? A wolfish smile crept over the kid's face as his right hand began to glow a molten orange. Only one way to find out!

Blasting Hand! Musica slammed his glowing palm against the shore, the sand in between Kira and Musica sharing the same orange glow momentarily. The rush of discharging energy rang in the air just before the glowing sand exploded into a thick cloud. It was then that Musica rushed forward, using chakra enhanced speed to seemingly disappear and reappear, as if circling Kira. Silently, Musica appeared behind his opponent, just finishing a string of hand seals, his chest puffing out as he too a large inhale. Futton! The shinobi thought just as he released his breath, the air replaced with scalding hot water.

Soul just acknowledged Musica as he claimed his statement had been cliche and uncool. It got to him for a second and could tell by the wolfish grin on his face that he was trying to cause some tension in the form of a joke. 'Go ahead and joke all you want, we'll see who's laughing at the end of this all' Soul crouched low in a horse stance, it was clear he didn't plan to move much in this battle unless need be.

Soul watched his opponents eyes. There is always an instant, if even for a millisecond, where the opponent tenses the muscles around his eyes before he strikes. In that one moment it would be essential to begin his defenses. 'Stay calm.. wait for his hints, watch his waist and focus on his whole body. Wait for a single movement. He just got out of the academy so he can't have too much battle experience. In that one instant I must create my defense, if I'm even a second off it could set the pace of the whole battle... Wait... Wait... THERE!' The instant the attack began Soul was prepared. He instantly began to create the complex mix of hand signs that would activate his jutsu; However, he didn't expect Musica's speed to be at the level that it was. There was a moment of pause until Soul regained his composure. He tried not to allow himself to be distracted by Musica's movements. He was flashing around him in circles trying to remain unseen so he couldn't be attacked. A grin played across Soul's face, 'This should be fun!' The area surrounding Soul became more dense, everything in the vicinity was being polarized. In an instant any threat within the jutsu's radius would be nullified. Just before the jutsu was fired an intense burn was felt on Soul's back. He flew forward from the hit, planting a hand on the ground he caught himself in time to complete a front hand spring. He faced his opponent and finished the jutsu. With his defense up it was time to start this.

Soul took a small step forward and felt the heat spreading along his back. The pain was immense, but he had to pull through. "That wasn't bad, but don't expect me to allow you the same privilege twice." Soul reached behind him and removed his Chain sickle and charged at Musica. His speed was slower than Musica's but he didn't plan to let that effect anything. He parallel to the rock wall before running along the side. He lept off towards Musica then purposefully missed. Though in the process he attempted to entangle Musica in the chain by doubling back and ending behind him.

As Drake entered through the steel door, he instantly came to the conclusion that what he saw could not be labeled a 'library'. Instead of rows of shelves filled with books and scrolls, most of the warehouse floor was covered with large wooden boxes. Some were open, the lids laying next to the crates. Others were still nailed to the top of each box. 'Well', Drake said to himself, 'this is going nowhere fast'. Drake took a quick glance around, and noticed an elderly man flipping through a large book, which was on a make-shift desk composed of several crates. Drake approached the old man, who turned to see who was walking toward him. Neither of them said anything, as the old man looked up at Drakes forehead, noticing the headband. "Leaf ninja, eh?" the old man said to Drake. "What brings someone like you to Mist? And why are you in this warehouse?". "My name is Drake. I was sent here as a request from our library to get some more information surrounding Mist history and culture. I went to where the old library was, but it seemed to be closed down for repairs. Someone pointed out that it was in a warehouse till the old library is fixed, so here I am". Drake knew that the old man could question this, as most times these requests have to be sent ahead and approved before someone could be sent to retrieve the items, but he had a lucky feeling that this wasn't going to be brought up. "Well, I would if I could, but I would need permission from the Council before I could do that. And even if they wanted to give me that permission, I would have no idea where the books and scrolls are, as the morons who packed it didn't give a accounting of what is in each crate." the old man said to Drake. "But, you can ask me what you need. I might be able to help you". Drake thought about that for a moment. He was only hoping to see if he could find a scroll about the Seven, maybe even to find out what happened to them, to gain some sort of clue to the possible location of one of the swords. But, he was going to have to see what the old man knows before he could do anything else. "What can you tell me about the events in Mist after the first Great War?". The old man rubbed his hand on his chin for a few seconds before answering. "Well, not much of what is already common knowledge. Ninja from all the country's retreated back to their respective villages. The ninja from mist returned, and that's when our past leader's reformed the old ways, changing laws and tradition to hopefully clean their bloody past. First came the new tradition of the Academy, then the securing of Water. Finally, most of the ninja who fought in that war became advisers or new teachers of the academy, and younger ninja took there place". That piece of information sparked Drakes interest. "The veterans? What happened to them?". "Well," the old man began, "they went on to give either strategic advise to the Council, or taught new students at the reformed academy. Unfortunately, many of the veteran ninja could not stick to the new ways, and most of them were forced to retire before starting an incident. Others simply couldn't stand the new laws and left the village, becoming renegades and little more than bandits. As far as I know, not many of them are around these days". Drake then knew what he could do. If he could find one of these veteran's, they could perhaps tell him about the fate of the swords, or at least point his way to someone who does. "Could you tell me where one of these veterans are?". "Why would you want to know that?" the old man replied to him, sounding suspicious. Quickly, Drake said to him, "Well, maybe they could give me a written account from their point of view, both during the war, and during the reforms. There are few books or scrolls that have that kind of knowledge". The old man stood there pondering, scratching his head.

"Well, I can't see the harm in that. Though, I have to warn you, he doesn't really like having surprise guests and all, but if you tell him why your there, then everything should be alright". The old man then turned around and grabbed a folded piece of paper from on top of one of the crates that was near him. He laid it on the crate that was in between Drake and him, then unfolded it, revealing a map of the Water Country. Drake had never seen such an extensive map of Water before. It showed several roads, as well as rivers, small lakes, even deltas. The old man then placed a finger on the map, and moved it gently across the paper. "Now," he said, "If I remember, he lives right here". The old man was pointing at an island that was a little ways east of the fishing village that Drake had arrived on. Unfortunately, it would seem the only way to get to the island was to travel by boat. Drake looked up and looked around from where they were. He saw on a clock that it was only about 15 minutes after 3 o'clock. Hopefully, if Drake was able to get to the fishing village fast enough, he could get Thomas to take him to that island. Drake was about to turn for the door, when the old man spoke up. "Since your here for any historical or cultural references to Water and the first Great War, I have something that might help you with your task. With that, the old man turned around and walked over to one of the open crates. He reached in and pulled out books and scrolls. Drake started to wonder what the old man was looking for, when he heard the old guy say "Here it is!". The old man then walked over with a semi-large book. "This is about the history of the Great War. How it started, and how it ended. In the chapter detailing about the five great country's, you'll find reference to battles with Mist ninja against the other village ninja". The old man handed Drake the book, then backed away to return to his work. Drake stared at the cover. It was bound in rough leather dyed blue. The title was 'The First Ninja War'. Drake rubbed his hands across the cover, then said to the old man "Thank you". Then he pulled his pack from his shoulders, opened it, and placed the book inside, the closed his pack and re-shouldered it.

Drake walked toward the steel door, and opened it. Right after the door closed, Drake felt a cold shiver run up his spine, then heard Harbinger speak to him. 'Beware. Eyes are upon you. They watch from the shadows. Do not attract any attention to yourself. Doing so will compromise your mission. Do what you must to get them off you.' and then he was silent. Drake didn't freak out, and kept his calm. He walked forward, heading back into the busy streets of Mist. Drake walked for awhile, but didn't notice anyone following him, or watching him. But, Harbinger has never really been wrong. Drake didn't know why, but he trusted Harbinger...to a point. As he continued walking down a street, Drake saw a ramen shop on the right. So, since he still had time, he walked over and entered the shop. Drake walked to the back, and sat down. After a bit, the cook came over and asked what he wanted, to which Drake only asked for one bowl. After the cook left to go make his food, Drake pondered on what to do next. He knew that just eating in here won't make who ever is watching him go away. Plus, it's possible that he was being followed ever since he entered Kirigakure. Though, unfortunately, he had no evidence to base any of this as fact, so he was stuck at a impasse. The cook soon returned with his bowl of ramen, plus some chopsticks. After thanking the cook, Drake broke open the chopsticks and started eating. The ramen was delicious, but the utter base of reality lingered in Drakes mind. Then, Drake decided to try something. While he was still eating, Drake looked up and around, like he was checking out his surroundings, but in fact was seeing if anyone was looking in his general direction. at first, it looked clear. But then, when Drake looked out the window, he saw someone. It was the guy he had asked directions to find the library before he found out it was closed. The man was just standing outside, acting as if he was checking out some meaningless item or another, but he would glance toward the ramen shop every few times. Drake was sure it was him, but how to get rid of the guy? Then, it came to him. This guy was probably following him to make sure he didn't learn anything of importance. Or, if what Drake thought might be true, this guy wasn't a mist citizen or ninja at all, but someone who might be after the swords. that, or the guy was sent to make sure no one can find them. It made sense. One way to check ones own information was to find another who found other information relevant to what your goal was, then follow him till you can overhear him, or, if that fails, to see where that person of interest goes. If they go somewhere part of your goal, you've got your guy. But, if he does nothing, sort of what Drake was doing now, then he was just wasting your time and he knows nothing. The whole thing was a question of timing. How long would this guy wait till Drake left? An hour? Two? Maybe till he leaves the shop? Any of this is possible. Drake was just going to have to stall till the guy leaves.

The one thing was going to be wasting his own time. Drake knew this bowl of ramen wasn't going to last him long enough to get this guy off of him. Then, Drake remembered the book. Quickly pulling his pack up to him, opening it, he pulled out 'The First Great War'. If anything, this was defiantly going to help waste his time, plus he learns more about the first great ninja war. Drake laid it on the table he was at, opening the book to the table of content. After finding the right page, Drake flipped the book to the chapter the old man had told him about, and began to read it.

------------------------------------

After great conflict had lasted for many months, the Great Ninja War was about to hit a turning point. Because all the villages were vying for power, the smaller country's became targets, as these smaller lands would be used for a villages caravan to reach their armies. One such land at the time was Rain. Rain was not as large as it is today, but it was still the land that could go to either Fire, Earth, or Wind. This became a strategic point, as any village held that controlled the supply lines for those three country's. Endless battle raged on in Rain, the three vying to control this land. At times, one land held the upper hand amongst them all, then they would lose this too another country, and so on and so forth. The battles raged on for so long that the three were coming up to a tie. Whispers of a negotiation began to spread through all three armies to make Rain a neutral ground for caravans to go through. All things were going well, till the Mist army showed up. It was not known till the very last moment, when the three generals were meeting for the final negotiations, their armies posed to attack if any foul play happened. Then, a fog went across the land. There had been no rain the night before, so the generals and their armies wondered what could be doing this. Then, it happened. All three generals were cut down. So fast was this assault, that for a moment no one could tell what was happening, till chaos broke out. The Mist had planned a daring surprise attack on all three armies, in an attempt to take out the leadership, which was successful. Then, they were to continue the attack on the three armies, with the one force that was more deadly then the three country's: the Seven Swordsmen. They were at the front of the army, unleashing their deadly Silent Mist technique, moving through and slaughtering everything and everyone who was in their way. And, because the mist was still being applied to the area, chaos ruptured up. No one could tell who was fighting who, and it believed that even ninja of the same country would be accidentally fighting each other, and kill each other. Though this was a very daring attack, it had too many faults. With everyone fighting everyone, all four armies became devastated. After the battle was over, the armies retreated back to their home country's. Strangely, it was Mist was the one who had the most casualties, as they were a smaller army. So, when all hell broke loose, it was the surprise attackers who got a bigger surprise. Mist lost two of their swordsmen, and 2/3rds of their army was dead, while only a fourth, or a half, of the other country's armies were dead. It was only a month after this battle, did negotiations open to all five country's, ending the war and bringing a bit of peace and rebuilding to them all.

------------------------------------------------

Drake didn't close the book just yet. He looked up ever so slightly to see if the follower was still where he was. They man was looking a bit mad, as he was walking back and forth, his face red, and looking as if he might just throw something at any moment. Then, after a few more moments of him walking around, the guy threw his arms into the air, then let them swing down, back and forth, till he looked down at the ground, then just walked away from Drakes view. Drake then closed the book and stuck it back in his pack. He picked up his chopsticks and started to finish off his ramen, which was now cold and nasty. But, he had to do this, as the guy might be just faking this whole thing, waiting to see if Drake would walk out of the shop now that he was gone. And, sure enough, the guy did a walk by the window of the shop, doing a quick glance to see if Drake was still there. Afterward, Drake didn't see him pass by the window again. Taking his chance, Drake looked around him, hoping to find a back door out of here. If the guy was outside of the front door, waiting for Drake, then Drake was going to need a plan b, like now. Drake turned his head around to the point where he had to turn himself in the seat, and noticed a back door with an exit sign above it. 'perfect' Drake said to himself. Drake took one last look back toward the window, and seeing nothing, got up, quickly placing the money on the table, then doing a quick dash to the door. Once he was out, he gently closed the door behind him. He took a look around, seeing where he could go. The Alley only went one way, to the street not far from an intersection that was close to the ramen shop. After looking up and down the street, Drake didn't see the man anywhere. Fortunately, a large crowd was passing by. So, to minimize detection, Drake reached up and undid his headband, then stuck it in his pocket. Once the crowd reached the point he needed, drake walked in to the middle, then started moving with the crowd, keeping his head low so that the guy could just see him easily. Thankfully, this road should lead almost all the way to the main gate, so Drake knew he was going to be safe. After a little bit, when Drake was able to see the top of the main gate from the crowd he was in, he made his way over into another alley that would lead to the main road. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his headband, placing back onto his forehead. After he was sure no one was following him now, Drake made his way down the alley. Once he got to the main road, Drake turned left, and he was a bit away from the gate, so he moved at a fast walk toward it. As Drake approached the gate, he saw the same guards at the main gate. They turned around to see him, then the leader again walked up to him. "Genin Drake." the leader said, remembering Drakes name. "Is it safe to assume that you will be leaving?". Drake nodded, then the leader put out his hand. "Then, before you go, I must ask to look through your pack. Standard procedure.". Drake handed his pack to the leader, who opened it, and started to rummage through. He then stopped, and pulled out the book. "Where did you get this?". "The librarian gave that to me to help in my mission, to bring back books or scrolls detailing anything that deals with anything historical or cultural about Water and Kirigakure.". Drake told the ninja. The leader took another look at the book, then at Drake. Then, he put the book back into Drakes pack and handed it back. "Very well. You may leave now". And with that, the ninja walked away. Drake then walked forward and pass the threshold of the gate. After a few moments of walking, Drake turned around and saw that he was far enough that he could start running toward the fishing village. Hopefully, Thomas was still there.

Drake ran as fast as he could down the main road. He felt as if every part of him was racing to get to that fishing village. As his legs beat across the ground, Drake looked up, and saw that, not too far from where he was, was the village. Excitement ran through him, but then he felt that familiar cold shudder, and Harbinger started to speak. 'Remember. It is unknown whether or not one of these blades will be there. This man could feed you false information.'. Then he went silent again. Drake thought about what Harbinger said, and he realized he was right. He didn't what to expect, so he kept his cool, and continued to run to the village.

After a half-an-hour passed of running, Drake finally reached the small village. He stopped running, and went into a fast jog. As he made his way to the dock, Drake hoped that Thomas was still here, and that they could go right now. If he wasn't, the he was going to have to wait till tomorrow, or find someone who will be willing to go out at night. As Drake finally made it to the dock, he saw Thomas's ship still docked. As he felt a wave of relief, he heard Thomas's booming voice say "All aboard!!". Drake quickly ran over to the ramp of the ship, and he saw Thomas looking down at him. "Ah! I didn't expect to see you again today! You here to go back to Fire?". "No. I was hoping that you might be able to take me a little bit off the path you usually take". Then Drake told where he needed to go. Thomas stood there, arms on his hips, and his head looking up into the sky. After awhile, Thomas finally looked back down at Drake. "Well, it's not where I usually go. But, since no one else is on, I'll take you there now". And so, Thomas walked back up into the captains cabin. Drake let a breath he didn't realize he was holding. He went over and sat down on one of the benches, placing his pack next to him. As he sat there, the boat lurched forward, moving out of the docks and into open water. But, instead of going straight, Thomas maneuvered the boat north, heading in the direction of the island Drake needed to go to. As the boat rocked back and forth from the waves, Drake felt tired. Then, without warning, he closed his eyes and fell into a light sleep.

Drake awoke when a lurch pushed off him the bench he was laying on and onto the ground, smacking his face into the ground. "Ow..." Drake said to no one in particular. Drake pushed himself up, then felt a heavy arm lift him onto his feet. "Sorry about that.", Thomas told him, "But, you'll be happy to know that we are at the island you needed to go to", pointing north. Drake looked toward the place Thomas was pointing, and saw the island. It wasn't a really big island, but not that much of a small one either. It had a forest of palm and coconut trees, as well as a assortment of bushes and other foliage. But, the one thing Drake saw that stood out was a wooden hut sitting perfectly in front of the forest. It seemed to be made of the trees from the forest, as was the roof, which was palm tree leaves wrapped into bundles. Drake went over to the railing, looking over it. Below, he saw that they hit sand, and were, in a way, 'beached' on the island. Drake turned to look at Thomas. "Will we be able to leave?". "Oh, yeah. I'll just have to push her out into the water when were ready to go. Don't worry, I've done this before" Thomas reassured him. Drake looked back at the hut, then he grabbed the guard rails and leapt over them, landing on the sand. He turned his head back up the ship, and said "I'll be back soon.", then he started walking toward the hut.

Drake reached the door to the hut, then he pushed his hand forward on to the door. As he pushed on the door, it slowly swung open. As it did, a wave of a putrid garlic smell hits Drake, nearly making him choke. After the fit, Drake looked around the small hut, and sitting down next to a table and a small fire was an elderly man. The man wore a dark, pitch black robe, with long sleeves, and the length went all the way to his feet. The man's face was the more disturbing. He had solid gray hair, but no bangs as there was a burn mark there instead. He had on long, nasty scar running down from his right eyebrow, to the bottom of his chin. He had another scar that was a vertical slice on his cheek. The mans eyes were the strangest, as they looked glaze, as if bored. Yet, behind that was a deadly inferno raging in his pupils, waiting to burst out. The elderly man motioned for Drake to sit next to him at the table. Drake walked over to the table, then sat down at one of the cushions that was like a seat. For a awhile, the old man just sat there, taking sips from his tea. Once the old man finished it, he set the cup down, cleared his throat, and in a hoarse voice, started to talk to Drake. "I know why your here, young man. I have never been bothered in the past for so many years, but when a visitor finally arrives, there here for only one reason.". The elderly man watched drakes reaction. Drake didn't feel all that surprised that the old man would figure out exactly why he was here. But, since he already knew why Drake was here, there was no harm in asking. "Well. I'm here to see if I can find one of the legendary swords used by the Seven. Rumors had been flying around about throughout all the country's about them. My...investigation has led me to your home. But, since you know why I'm here, then my assumptions that you could know something about the swords are correct.". The elderly man smiled. "You remind me of when I was your age. Brash and headstrong. But, you will learn the same way I did. You need more than these things. You need to stand up for your beliefs, fight for them, and hold on to them. Ah. But I digress. To answer your statement, yes, I do know of at least one of those blades. But, I am not telling you where it is. Though I can tell you have traveled a long way, to me, you have yet to urn it." the elderly man said to Drake. "But. If you wish to attempt to prove yourself to me, then you must listen what I have to say. The story I must tell you is a lengthy one, but you must hear it. Only once you have will I tell you where you can find one of the blades." the elderly man told Drake, who then sat straighter up then before, waiting for Drakes reply. Drake thought about this carefully. If he listened, he could gain some valuable insight into this man's knowledge. But, he was in a rush before, so he could try to force the old man to reveal the location. Drake shook his head slightly to that idea. This man fought in one of the great wars, so there was no way Drake could take him. His only option was to listen to what the man had to tell him. "Alright then. Tell me what you think I need to hear. The elderly man then smiled that wicked smile. "Very well. It was long ago, when the village Hidden in the Mist was still young...."

---------------------------------------------------------

As the other villages at the time, Kirigakure was slowly being built. As the village grew, the leaders realised that, cut off now from the rest of the world, they would be unable to hear of any new jutsu created. this, of course did not stop them from creating there own, based around the water of the ocean that surrounded their island. But, as they developed, new ways for news traveled to Water, and soon Mist heard of the accomplishments of the other villages. Sadly, Mist could not share in this joy, as they were isolated from these kind of events. As news came to Mist about the other villages ninja, Kirigakure realized that they had no elite ninja like the others. So, a new tradition was passed. If they were to become the ultimate elite ninja of all the villages, then they needed to move pass petty morality. The new law was that, at the graduation of the latest class from ninja academy, all the students were to fight each other, to the death, and the survivors were considered part of the elite. but, the leaders of Mist became corrupt and greedy, and so they wanted to have the most deadliest of ninja to outclass all others. Seven ninja were chosen over time to form the ultimate squad. But, these ninja were going to need the most powerful weapons. Simple blades and ninja tools would not suffice for what they were creating, so the leaders had the blacksmiths and chakra-welders come together to form seven of the most deadliest of weapons, each specifically made for each of the seven. After many months, the blades were complete, and Kirigakure had the ultimate assassin ninja. With these blades, the Seven wrecked havoc against anything that stood against them. But, when the first Great Ninja War sprang up, it was defiantly certain the Seven would be the leaders of Kirigakures army. Unfortunately, because Water was much smaller than the other country's, their population would be smaller as well, and so would be their military. Mist was forced to only enter battles they believed they could win. During the battle for Rain was when tragedy struck, and Mist lost two of their swordsmen. The swords were of course taken by the enemy, and not seen again for some time. Many years had passed, and the five that were left of the original seven had passed on their weapons to the new swordsmen. These five were just as bloodthirsty as the last, but when faced against weapons of equal strength, it was hard to call them that. Mists first objective was to retrieve the lost two blades, but this ended in disaster, when they lost two more of their swordsmen. But, they accomplished their goal and retrieved the weapons. Immediately, they set out to remake the Seven. They sent more academy students to their death, all for the sake of gaining more power. Unfortunately, the other villages heard that Mist had regained their weapons, and attempted to get rid of them. They decided on a two part attack. First, they would lead a large task force on keeping Mists troops busy. The second, to find and kill all the wielders before the battle ends. They were to also see if they could destroy the blades if they could. They were partially successful, as they killed the blades wielders, but not the blades themselves. Soon, the leadership realized that as long as Kirigakure had this horrible reputation, they would be the target to stop them from using the blades, so they banned the old ways, and stopped the academy massacres. This, of course, did not stop them from ruling the isle like a dictatorship. They continued to use the last survivors before the changed the law to create a new Seven. But, many of them betrayed Mist, leaving with the blades for their own reason. Only three or four stayed, but they were killed not long afterward. Then, the Third Ninja War happened, and the swords were used this time to try and save ninja, instead of just killing them all. The only dire consequence was that all the wielders were basically killed, and the aftermath of the war made it nigh impossible to even find any of them again. And so, the swords were all lost...

-----------------------------------------------

"Well, not all lost. Some were found, but the villages all remember what these blades were capable of. So, they scattered them. And, I suspect, if a rumor hadn't started up, they would have remained scattered and lost. But, we both that's not true, right?". The elderly man was now leaning back a bit, staring up into the ceiling. Drake sat where he was, thinking about what the man said. Even though he never said it, the meaning was clear. These blades were so powerful, even when no one wielded them everyone just wanted them gone. Their bloody path is stained on them forever, and whoever wields one carries that past with them. The story was a warning: Take up one of the swords, and you become a target. Either for greed, or fear. The elderly man turned his head to stare into the fire. Then he got up and put a kettle full of water over it. After a little while, the water was boiling, and then the elderly man put tea leaves into the water. "Wait a little bit longer. I'd like another cup before I tell you anything". Drake nodded. He was willing to wait for this. After a little while, the tea was ready, and the old man poured himself a cup. He offered some to Drake, who refused. The man sat back down, drinking his tea. After a few sips, the elderly man set his cup down, then looked at Drake. "Now," he said, "do you understand what I have told you? That these blades have been dipped in so much blood that, no matter how hard Kirigakure tries to wash them clean, they will always be stained?". Drake thought long and hard about this. If he said yes, and he finds a blade, then he will carry a weight that can never be removed while he held the blade. He could be haunted and followed forever, as if he had a big 'X' on his back, by those who would want the blade for themselves. But, if said no, right here, then he could just go home. Go back to Leaf, and forget about the seven blades. After a bit, Drake made his decision. He remembered what the elderly man said to him not too long ago, that Drake had to learn to stand up for what he believed in, to fight for it, and hold on to it. With a brimming determination that he thought he never had, he looked at the old man right in the eye, and said "Yes.".
