With the gnomes taken care of I looked down at my arms and legs to examined the wounds they had caused. See that they weren't to bad, but not really knowing what those bloody things might have been eating on before they attacked. I went to work sterilizing the wounds and repairing my robes. Bloody things had ripped holes all in them, and these were my favorite set of robes to boot.

Aludra Yvette...

The bites that she had sustained from the gnomes were starting to itch wildly, probably from their disgusting saliva... Aludra hoped it was poisonous. But she had no time for thinking so negatively, she had to finish getting rid of these nasty little creatures called Gnomes before they ate her alive. This proved to more more difficult then she would have liked when more dug out of the ground after her to replace their fallen comrades. "Get her, get her, get her!" they all seemed to be cheering, sinking their teeth into her delicious skin. So many of them were getting on her it was becoming impossible for her to stun them with accidently hitting herself. Aludra figured she would just have to keep a tight hold on her wand and shake them off. It would take longer and she would get more bites, but she would be fit enough to continue the competition. "Come on, you little demons, get off me!" she shouted, kicking one of the gnomes high over the 20 foot hedge. A few moments later she saw a gopher like trail coming towards her foot and the same gnome jumped out, latching on to her shoe. "You things are worse then Pixies!"

She finally got another one loose from her ankle and stomped it beneath her foot. That must have been their leading man because after she stomped him, they all seemed to disappear from her body and buried themselves back into the earth from which they came. "Yea, bet you didnt like that did you?" she smirked, wipping off some blood from her arms. Aludra lifted up her sleeve and saw a few hole markes, nothing some dittany couldnt fix once the task was over. She also made a mental note to talk to the Headmaster about healing spells. She seemed to need them the most. Regaining her surroundings, Aludra continued on her way down the path.

Liviana was still shaken from her encounter with the gnomes, but glad she made it through. Her legs ached a bit, and she walked slower than normal down the cold corridors of the hedge maze.

Looking down, she saw that her wounds were beginning to bleed though her bandages. Her rosebud lips puckered into a frown, though she could do nothing more for the time being than change the wrappings again.

Aludra Yvette...

As she went farther down her path, the darker it seemed to get and the spookier. The once beautiful bright blue sky above her was now a deep darkened navy, unidentifiable from black. There were no stars in the sky that she could see, it just looked like an endless blackened sky above her, the perfect roof to the shrubbed cavern. The sky seemed to sit contently across the tops of the maze walls, creating a box in which trapped the Champions inside making a quick escape impossible. There looked to be no easy escape from here except the go through the twists and turns of the maze ahead.

After walking 40 yards or so, Aludra came to her first fork. She had the choice to go either left or right. One way could lead straight through with no distractions to the end of the maze, while the other could lead her into a Dementor or worse… She chewed on her bottom lip and pondered which way to go, Aludra was terrible at making decisions much less the right one. She could have sat there for hours trying to think of the most logical way to continue, but she didn’t have hours on end to sit and think, she only had three to make it out of the maze. On a whim, she picked to go left, praying it was the wisest decision.

Satisfied that my wounds and robes were mended properly I stood up and continued jogging though the maze. I wouldn't let the next creature get the jump on me like those gnomes had. Coming to an intersection I looked down both tunnels hoping to see some indication that I might be heading in the right way. Placing my wand in my palm I said, "Point Me" my wand spun around and stopped pointing to the left. "Okay left is north, I need to head in that general direction to get to the end of the maze." Hoping that I was choosing the correct path and not one that would lead to a dead end I started off in that direction.

Aludra Yvette...

Only a few feet down her chosen path and she knew it had been a mistake. She had the most odd feeling that she was being watched, followed down the dirt path. Footsteps were echoing in her ears but she could tell if they were her own. Aludra made a sharp jerk of her head to look behind her, to try to catch her stalker off guard, but no one was there. It was just darkness and air. She let out an airy chuckle. How silly of her to think someone was following her. It was just the maze playing a little trick on her. Aludra laughed a bit more loudly at her stupidity and continued to walk on. “It was just these cursed walls trying to freak me out.” her voice faltered. Whatever those walls were doing surely was working. With every dainty step she took, so did another that didn’t belong to her. Her ears rang with foreign noises and sounds, it was all becoming too much. The slightest flicker of movement could set her off at any moment. And it did.

Just behind her, maybe a few feet away, she heard the snapping of a twig. Aludra screamed and ran forward, waving her wand frantically behind and casting an arsenal of spells behind her in her wake, some of which she didn’t even know what they were. She didn’t dare look behind her to see if she had hit her pursuer if there was one, she keeping running turn after turn until she came to a dead end. The dead end was a quite the relief or else she might have been running in circles for ages. Other then her ‘mystery stalker’ there was another thing bothering her… the lack of difficult obstacles in her path was unnerving to her. Maybe the maze was trying to trick her into a false sense of security, the no harm would become of her. So when the moment came that the unknown did attack her, she would be unprepared. The maze was against her in this, it didn’t want her to get out! It wanted her to be lose in its puzzles and deathly corners forever. Aludra shook her head at the empty wall and grinned madly. “I’m going to get out, and I’m going to laugh at you when I do.” she whispered angrily to the shrub wall. Her eyes flashed over it once more and she turned around to continue on her way, he wand held steadily in front of her as she mentally readied herself for another attack.

Then, something began emerging out from the darkness, although it was dark itself, so it wasn't easy to identify. It stepped into the moonlight carefully, like it was crawling. It was a giant spider. It's legs were scurrying across the ground to the nearby champion, it's pincers were clicking in a strange sound, like a warning. It hissed, but not like that of a snake. It's beady eyes flickered around, and it hurled itself onto the wonderful flesh close by it.

Liviana sighed as she finished doctoring herself up again. Healing charms had never been her best work. As such, her new bandages hung askew on her ankles, and quite loosely at that.

Liviana gritted her teeth, certain that she had lost much time from those blasted gnomes. Thinking once again, an overwhelming feeling of guilt came to her, and rested over her chest. She didn't want to let down her fellow housemates or her teachers that supported her. While each thought of shame weighed on her mind, Liviana began to run, both to further her distance covered, and to suppress all the emotions of guilt she could not take.

After a few minutes of haphazardly sprinting around the frozen halls of the maze, Liviana was both lost, and scared.

So focused on gaining ground inside the maze I nearly ran head long into a large dark mass striding down the maze path. Coming to a halt I saw that it was a giant spider, its was making this awful clicking sound with its large pincers. Eying the vast arachnid I tired to make a quick dash around it.

That wasn't going to work, the giant spider had a quickness to it that its massed hid well. The huge thing manged to turn and take a swipe at me with one of its pincers. I leaped back and out of the way just as the pincer whipping based in the same spot my arm had just been.

Aludra Yvette...

She walked around the corner from her dead end, fully prepared for her next encounter... or so she thought. When Aludra heard that sound shattering hiss, her skin crawled, much like her next obstacle did. Straight ahead of her was one of the things she feared the most, a wild spider. And not that cute little guy you find in your bathtub either. It was a gigantic, much like the ones you expect to find in the forbidden forest.

Aludra was struck with fear, never in her life had she seen a aracnid so large. Granted she had some big pet spiders at home, but none this big. She fell backwards onto the ground as it approached her. She had forgotten how to breath as she racked her brain for a spell that would help her out of this.

Out of breath, Liviana ran blindly into part of the wilted greenery, her outstretched hands saving her from slamming right through the wall. She clung to the mean thorns that grew, trying to regain herself. After a few moments, she turned around so that her back was now against the wall. She decided it it was time to be on the move again, but she could not move. It was if she was stuck to the frozen partition.

As Liviana moved her hands, she realized it was if they were glued to some silver threading. She tried cutting whatever it was with a spell, only to realize her wand was just out of reach in the woven silk-like substance. Suddenly, a noise to her left made her realize she was in more trouble than she should be.

A large, angry spider looked at the Ravenclaw through its many eyes.

Registering what was going on, Liviana said dumbfoundedly,"Oh. I think- I think I'm in- in your house," she paused, realizing she had to learn how to do nonverbal spells quickly.

Aludra Yvette...

As the spider got closer, her mind became more desperate as it flooded with spells from cook books she had read the other day, trying to find anything that might hurt the spider. Aludra shook as her mind seemed to freeze, her entire body froze unmoving. Maybe it was best if the spider just killed her quickly, maybe she wouldnt feel as much pain. But she couldnt give up this quickly, everyone was counting on her! She quickly stood to her feet and pointed her wand at the Arachnid's head and yelled, "Arania Exumai!" It was the spider-killing spell she had learned from a house-work spell book. She didnt know if it would work on a spider of such a great size, but she didnt stick around to find out. The spell made the spider get up on its hide legs and rubbed on its face with its large arms, this made a perfect path for her to squeeze through. Aludra took this advantage and rushed past the spider, turning onto the nearest path she could as she tried to escape.

Hopefully her spell had blinded the large arachnid long enough so that it didnt see in which direction she went but she wasnt going to be stay there waiting for it to find out. She made another note to thank her father when she got out of the maze. If he hadnt found that book for her... she might had been spider food. Aludra didnt think that anything could have been more stressful then those Gnomes, but she was dreadfully wrong. The suprise of the spider made her wonder what else was hidden inside of these hedge walls.

"So my eight legged friend your quicker than you look." I said loud, why I was talking to a spider was unknown, maybe it could understand what I was saying who knows. Well since speed and quickness wont work here how about more brute force? The spider could sense that something was about to happen and it lunged at me.

The spider hobbled closer, each leg's movement indicating a faster death for Liviana.

Her eyes widened once again, giving the impression of a silent scream. She knew she couldn't free herself in enough time to get away, but if she could just get rid of the spider first...

Liviana huffed, and her eyes narrowed like they did before she attempted to do a new spell. That was all this was anyway, 'a new experience in magic,' she thought. 'Alright then. Arania exhumi,' she thought. The spider loomed in less than a few feet from her captured body.

Nothing.

'ARANIA EXHUMI!!!'

Zilch.

She gave a dry sob, thinking this was the end. Liviana closed her eyes to the pinchers that hovered above her neck. 'anraniaexhumi,' said the small child-like voice in the back of her head.

A large, bright light exploded from Liviana's wand, and the spider was thrown back into the darkness of the halls of the maze, leaving behind one of its legs as a reminder of Liviana's brush with death.

"Sorry to do this mate, but you leave me no choice," dodging the spiders lung I raised my wand and got ready to cast a spell that would hopefully end this rather large bug problem of mine. The spider lunged for a third time, and I cast "Arania Exumai!" the spell hit the spider square in the chest, sending it crashing into the hedge.
