Konaga ShinjiIwagakure| Konaga Clan | GeninHaving dropped by his house to grab the scrolls once more, Shinji made his way back to the training fields to get in some last minute training after all of his hard work completing missions. He was tired, but something about going to sleep with so much energy left within him just didn't feel right, so he figured that at the very least, he would be able to teach himself the final Genin technique he had planned on learning before calling it a night.
Arriving at the fields, Shinji saw that not much had changed, but looking around, he found a new and unfamiliar face on the training grounds. Perhaps it was the fact that he had been serving the village for the past few hours on missions, or maybe something else, but he felt compelled to introduce himself and see if the new face on the fields needed any help. Walking up to the man calmly, Shinji's loose upper robes flowed freely in the swift breeze, but were more or less confined to small movements as Forza weighted the majority of what would be the billowing material down.
As he got closer to the man, he could see his ninja headband clearly and could immediately tell that he was at the very least in his home training grounds as Shinji smiled and approached the man with a calm demeanor. "Well, you're a new face around here. My name is Shinji. I was wondering if perhaps I could help you with anything. I saw you standing around, so I figured maybe you were looking for help, but if not, no worries, I was coming here for some training myself." Now that he was closer, he noticed several interesting characteristics of the man. His clothing was eccentric to say the least, as was his hair style, which didn't seem natural. Overall however, he looked like he had an impressive physique, sculpted from years of hard work and dedication to exercise. it hadn't occurred to him until just then however, that perhaps this man might even be higher rank then he was, and not in need of any help, but at the very least, no matter the situation, Shinji had offered and awaited the man's response.

Akira Kuromiya Iwagakure/Jounin Akira heard the boy but did not move his eyes to meet the youth's, instead he crossed his arms and looked to the sky for a moment, his eyes glazing over and becoming very cold.
"Now, I wouldn't say I'm new... well I suppose I'm new today if we assume each location at each progressive fraction of time has its' own dimension of newness. Regardless, I've been known to Iwagakure for a while now, young one."
Akira's gaze then finally shifted to meet the youth's eyes, his own eyes narrow into a gentle but cold expression. The rest of his face blank, he was like a soulless doll trying smile through his eyes. He uncrossed his arms and offered his hand to Shinji, his movements fluid but devoid of any emotional expression. His mind had just absorbed to much 'serene information' and whited out, leaving him empty but functional.
"I am Akira Kuromiya, I teach Genin and Chuunin about whatever I can. Do you want to learn?"

Konaga ShinjiIwagakure| Konaga Clan | GeninShinji was by no means a dumb person, but to say that he spent most of his day thinking would also be far from the truth. As he listened to the man's strange introduction, he furrowed his brow in confusion as he heard him ramble on about newness, or something. He wasn't quite sure as he lost the man's philosophical wit about half way through, only coming back to understand him when he mentioned he had been a part of the village for some time. Not too surprisingly, it seemed as this was just another person Shinji had not yet run into in the village.
At his next offer however, Shinji couldn't believe his luck to have found a Jounin teacher randomly within the training fields. A grin immediately came across his face as he saw that the man had the potential to help him do more then just his basic training and was excited for the prospect to play itself out. "Allriiight then. Well, I guess this just turns the tables on my entire situation eh? here i am, coming to offer advice and help to you, and it turns out, I might just get some myself! I'm currently trying to get up to speed for the Chuunin Exams and I was going to squeeze learning one last jutsu in before turning in for the night."
A strange pause would follow the statement as Shinji suddenly closed his eyes, his body being overrun with a sudden wave of pain as his bloodline chakra punished even the thought of further utilizing it, but Shinji faced the pain, defying it whole heartedly as it sent an agonizing heat through his body, doubly so painful in his arms until he was finally able to snap out of it and re-engage the conversation. "Soooo... could you possibly teach me a specific Doton technique I've been wanting to learn? It's a Chuunin level technique and I doubt I'd be able to get through it on my own. It's the Doryuudon no jutsu. Perhaps you've heard of it, or better yet, know the technique yourself?"

Akira Kuromiya Iwagakure/JouninAkira's left eyebrow crawled up his forehead as he processed Shinji's sudden silence, waiting for the boy's eyes to open. It was an unusual thing to happen, and he thought it might be prudent to learn more at some point.
"I'm sorry child, but I do not know Doton techniques, my skill lies within the manipulation of lightning and water, but I am sure there is some sort of alternative method, perhaps if I led you through it while I myself referenced a scroll. I could not demonstrate the technique myself but I could assist you in identifying the ebb and flow of your chakra, but there's no guarantee it would work."
Akira raised a finger to his chin as his eyebrow slid back to its normal resting place, his mind now processing the possibilities that lay before him. He could also attempt to teach the boy some other ninja techniques if this was not going to work.
As Akira's mind began to whirl about, it came alive with colour much like his once empty eyes that suddenly seemed to glisten with emotion. He tilted his head to the side and looked at the boy, taking in what he could; learning as much as possible from his appearance, which wasn't that much.
"Never, ever, ever close your eyes, especially when you're in the most pain, that's when all your senses must be operating at their maximum" he advised the boy, obviously unaware of his situation, which had he known, would have only made his advice more gentle but essentially the same at its core.
Akira had livened up, he was now operating in an extroverted and energized mind frame, he was sure this would not escape Shinji's notice.
[[ Cobra, I'm not sure about this, do you think that if I get the scroll and 'run; through it with you, can I still teach you the technique despite it not being my element? ]]

Konaga ShinjiIwagakure| Konaga Clan | Genin"Hmmmph..." Shinji could only scoff at the man's advice, feeling, or rather knowing that the man could have no idea the amount of pain he had just. Still, he had a point as such an action in combat, or really at any time in someone's presence could lead to death. It would have been hard to explain that the pain itself gripped all of his sensations when a wave hit, making it hard to concentrate on anything, excepting in battle when adrenaline was pumping and the pain could be ignored for the sake of the moment.
All of this would have taken too long to explain however, so Shinji simply responded politely... "I suppose so, however, to be fair, we are in the middle of the training grounds of my home village. The situation is not the same as it would be in other places... and, not to be rude, you don't know what it is I just experienced." Not wishing to linger on the point any longer however, Shinji quickly changed the subject. "Well, I suppose that type of training will have to be good enough. I'm sure someone of your level will still be able to interpret the scrolls better then I can and can guide me more efficiently, even if it is not an element under your control. I have the scroll with me right here." Placing the scroll case down, Shinji removed the "Doton biggrin oryuudon no jutsu" scroll and held it out for Akira to take hoping that his own predictions were true as he waited for his new sensei to take a look and see how he could assist.
{{I would certainly think so. I think it would be naive to think that a teacher and student's elements would always match. I'm sure that there is plenty a teacher can do to assist another in a jutsu's execution besides actually showing them the jutsu.}}

Akira Kuromiya Iwagakure/Jounin Akira's face shifted into an expression of amusement as the boy first scoffed at him, then proceeded to 'enlighten' him about the absence of Akira's knowledge in the areas of Shinji's experience.
"No, we can never experience each others experiences, nor can we ever know how they truly feel because we cannot experience them. However, if I was really a spy, pretending to be a Jounin here, I might have killed you when you closed your eyes"
Akira left Shinji to ponder that as he unraveled the scroll and looked over it, interpreting the information there as required, remodeling the technique, it's formation and application to his mode of thinking.
However, the connections were breaking up as soon as they were made, he feared this may be beyond his ability. After all, one of his elements was suppressed by earth and another obliterated it, Earth was the exact opposite of everything he was.
"I'm afraid this may not work as we anticipated, Shinji, however, all hope for learnin' is not lost, I could teach you how to use chakra to unlock things or walk on walls, or, if you already know how to walk on walls, I could then teach you how to walk on water."
Akira's eyes questioned everything about Shinji; his past, his present, his anticipations of the future, as well as his resolve and desire to achieve. Mostly, however, his eyes were asking: "will you accept my teaching anyway, regardless of whether it is what you wanted to learn?"

Konaga ShinjiIwagakure| Konaga Clan | Genin"Hmmm... it has been a while since I've ACTUALLY trained either of those abilities. No sense in assuming that I'll be able to do them when the time comes and then falling flat on my face, or flat into the water. I might as well take him up on it." Though disappointed in the fact that Akira would not be able to teach him the Doton jutsu, it seemed like it might work out for the better in honing some of his other skills. Perhaps even, if he worked well with the man, he could even be Shinji's escort when attempting to complete a C-rank mission.
Nodding silently to the man at first, Shinji pumped his fist in front of him as if to show that he was ready for anything before responding... "Alright then, if that's all we can do, then so be it. Being a ninja isn't just about your elemental jutsu, but other skills as well, right? Of course right. So let's do this! I accept your challenge Akira-sensei." Shinji knew that he had done these things before, even at a young age, but it had been so long, perhaps there were things he was taking for granted that would need to be worked out before the Chuunin exams. Extra training was never a bad thing.

Akira Kuromiya Iwagakure/Jounin 'Right you are Shinji, if it was just about elements I'd be considered a Sannin" responded Akira with a cheeky smile, splayed upon his face, however it quickly vanished as he got down to business. Training required focus, especially in this instance, this was a technique that required precise and constant manipulation of one's chakra to achieve the desired result.
Akira held one hand out in front of him, his pointer and index fingers erect, his other fingers coiled into a soft fist. He kept his eyes focused on Shinji as he did this, making sure the boy was watching what he was doing.
"Wall Walking, the essential point of focus is maintaining an equal flow to all aspects of the foot. Overflow will cause destruction to the object you are scaling, and will waste energy, while a lack of chakra will not allow you to hold on. "
Akira began channeling the chakra to his feet; the flats quickly becoming illuminated by his purple energy, as he moved towards one of the rocks near him, it was suitably high to demonstrate the basics of the technique.
"Observe the flow, it must be in constant flux, a static blast of energy will just waste chakra. While there are not as many forces to accommodate for, as opposed to the myriad of forces when you're water walking, you must be aware of changes in the structure and form of the object"
Akira placed one foot on the rock, and then the other and was suspended horizontally from the side of the rock and he began walk up it, calmly and slowly, keeping his eyes locked on Shinji.
"A ninja must always be aware of their terrain. There's an indent here, if you were to be taken by surprise by taking a deeper step than usual, it might just be the shock that costs you your life. Also, the rock thins as it reaches its' peak, therefore the amount of chakra exerted must be translated to an appropriate level to not break the weak structure, and watching your step on a thinner space is always important."
Akira jumped off the rock, the chakra dissipating from his feet as he landed back on flat ground. Crossing his arms, he gave his head a sharp tilt towards the rock indicating it was Shinij's turn.{{Kinobori no Jutsu (Tree Walking Technique)/Kabenobori no Jutsu (Wall Walking Technique) Description: By focusing chakra into the feet and keeping it balanced, the user can walk up against vertical objects and cling to its surface. Konaga ShinjiIwagakure| Konaga Clan | Genin [Conditions: Home Training Field (-2) , Teacher (-1) , Bloodline (-3)]
Shinji listened to Akira-sensei's instruction very carefully, smiling with a wide grin after the man's joking comment about what held him back from being a Sannin. As he began to go through everything, Shinji was quick to develop a good amount of respect for the man almost immediately, as he seemed to not only be knowledgeable, but a good teacher as well, explaining all the aspects of wall walking technique in detail. Nodding his head occasionally, Shinji heard several pieces of advice that he had never heard before, especially the part about modulating your foot hold for tapering points on the surface.
Truthfully, he had never considered it, but then again, he had never had to. His father had always told him that such skills would come naturally to him, and in fact he had even displayed the ability as a child, just fooling around. However, he had never had formal training on the matter, and this instruction above all else, would complete his training and assure that he would be able to use the technique in all circumstances effortlessly. "Heh, piece of cake sensei!" In utter defiance of the grace and control akira had stressed in using the technique, Shinji ran at the wall at full speed, which was for him, fairly impressive.
Channeling his chakra to the soles of his feet as if it were child's play, the bottom's of Shinji's feet lit up with a white energy as he placed full faith into his step, connecting it with the stone as he began his running ascent. The trick went off without a hitch as Shinji was almost effortlessly able to attach his feet with just the right amount of flow and power to neither break the rock, nor cause him to lose traction. "Heh, just like pops used to say... 'It's just like forming an augmentation... only it doesn't hurt like hell afterward!'"
Continuing his run to the top, Shinji found it almost second nature to modulate the pressure of his chakra as to not snap the thinner rock as he reached the top. As he came to the tip of the rock, he then pushed off forcefully into a backflip. Just before his foot left the rock completely however, he purposely pushed more chakra then was needed through the tip of his foot, causing the tip of the rock split off under his feet just for show. His motion already set in place, he continued his back flip backwards off of the rock and landed on the ground effortlessly, bending his knees slightly as his momentum carried him into a backwards slide for a few feet. Having landed and slid right next to Akira, Shinji gave his teacher a smile as the training had excited him, and allowed him to get his blood pumping, which he longed for. [Training: Kinobori/Kabenobori no Jutsu (1/1)]
Suddenly however, his body throbbed with a quick reminder that he was still tired on the day, as Shinji's body suddenly convulsed. Remembering Akira's words however, Shinji resisted the urge to close his eyes and fought through the pain, his body being stunned for only a second as the wave of agony washed over him, but then subsided back to it's base level of pain. It was a strange reaction, one probably solely unique to Shinji as all Konaga dealt with the pain in different ways, but his adrenaline rush, though the trigger for the pain, was also the thing which allowed him to suppress it so quickly. the moment finally passed, Shinji allowed an excited grin to cross his face as he looked to his new sensei for approval... "That last part was on purpose... just so you know. Gotta make it exciting, right?".

Akira Kuromiya Iwagakure/Jounin/Offensive/Chakra Control Akira clapped slowly as Shinji finished his little display of quick learning and power; Akira was impressed, this kid learned faster than he did: he definitely had potential; more potential than Akira.
Akira watched with an almost cruel indifference as Shinji's body convulsed under the weight of whatever it was that afflicted him. He was more interested to see whether the youth would heed his words; and indeed the youth did. Akira was most pleasantly surprised by this child.
It was a shame however, that the two of them didn't have an elemental compatibility; as Shinji displayed an incredible talent for chakra control. Control was almost an essential aspect of mastering Raiton techniques, as you were liable to hurt yourself if you were not able to bend the energy sufficiently.
"I thought as much, however you made one mistake: you forgot to strike a pose a pose and say 'Ta-dah!' after you landed. If you're going to put on a show, you must remember to end it and not leave the audience hanging. How do you think that would work on an espionage mission?" questioned Akira, the first part had mostly been a joke but the second was just a little nugget of wisdom he wanted to pass to Shinji on a whim.
"Now, I could train you in Water-Walking but it is Chuunin technique and it will require a shift in venues, or you could head home and rest as you mentioned earlier. Your choice Shinji"

Konaga ShinjiIwagakure| Konaga Clan | GeninLooking somewhat confused at the odd piece of advice, Shinji wasn't quite sure what was joke and what wasn't by the end of it. Akira seemed almost eccentric enough to mean both comments seriously, Shinji had no idea if that was his intent. Surely, his new sensei would be an enigma wrapped up in a mystery for quite some time. After squeezing out only a confused "Uhhh..." Shinji was happily distracted with the next question and his chance to learn even more from him.
"Nah, I can keep going. I don't need to meditate just yet and the pain isn't really that unbearable yet anyways." Shinji said the words so matter of factly, that one would assume that Akira already knew about his bloodline. In his mind however, having his sensei ask him if he needed rest was akin to asking him if he needed to escape the pain... but Shinji wanted to take advantage of the offer while it was still on the table. Fully understanding that his concept of pain which was 'not that unbearable yet' would have been beyond the average person's ability to even stand against, Shinji waited for his sensei to lead the way so they could continue their training.

Akira KuromiyaIwagakure | Jounin | Offensive/Chakra Control Chakra: 85/85 Akira watched Shinji's confusion and chuckled softly at it as the boy tried to figure out what he was on about. Akira wished him good luck on that account; he knew he wasn't that easy to understand or deal with a lot of the time but he who he was and he got the job done.
"Well then to walk on water, one must have water, and while I'm sure I could probably create some right here and now with enough effort I think we'll opt for the hot springs. As a resident of this village, I assume you know where they are? I need to stop off somewhere first, go on ahead and I will catch up soon" said Akira as he started to leave giving the Genin a small wave as he did.

Konaga ShinjiIwagakure| Konaga Clan | GeninShinji couldn't help but smile at Akira's question of whether or not he knew where the hot springs were. Not only had he just run a mission there, but he had an... interesting run-in, which was definitely an unforgettable one. "Yeah, I know where it is, sounds like a plan sensei. I'm not sure if training at the springs is necessarily allowed normally, but I would imagine a Jounin like yourself would be able to pull the necessary strings."
Having nothing else to say, Shinji waved to Akira excitedly as he raced off to the springs to continue his training as he was told. "I'll go scope it out and see if it's crowded. See you there!" All seemed to be going well with this teacher, though it was too bad he wouldn't be able to teach Shinji any Doton techniques. On the plus side however, this one had yet to mysteriously disappear, and had not been arrested and thrown in prison for treason. there was still plenty else to learn besides elemental ninjutsu however, and maybe Akira-sensei would be able to take him on the Chuunin ranked mission he needed to run. All of this rolling around in his mind, Shinji sprinted to the hot springs fully intending not to be beaten there by his teacher.
