That was really harsh, what was recently said about shadow_of_old's avi, I mean.
Now stop calling me a musician.
You're a main character, orphaned, who comes from a somewhat historically modern setting and somehow manages to get yourself warped or perhaps even abducted and taken to another world, where you befriend mythical creatures. The world is a strange place with technology of the future, but lifestyles similar to those who lived in the middle ages. There is some evil you have to overcome, but the journey to defeat it is even more difficult than the final battle. You're very intelligent, but new to this high-tech stuff. Good luck.

You come from a medieval-styled game, wherein you are a simple page working in a castle... until, one fateful night (coincidentally, the first fateful night of the game), the royal family is killed, and you are framed. After you escape the dungeons, you begin your epic quest to find the real murderer, and eventually unravel a much larger plot that will determine the fate of the world....
So yeah, you're the hero(ine). And you use a scythe because you had to steal a weapon from a local farmer after your escape, and he didn't have any swords lying around. razz

You are a stuffed scarecrow in a cornfield that becomes animated by a witch/sorceress/mage's spell. You wobble and flail around a lot, because you weren't stuffed properly and you have no backbone, or any bones for that matter, but it's fun watching you give the hero's party splinters with your straw as you smack them.

You look like you could be the ice elemental guardian of the mystical artifact. You wait at the top of the crystal tower for the one with a pure heart to claim the Dragon's Tear in order to destroy the demon Mezophistile.
It's kind of fun to read these after everyone has changed their avatars.

You are a knight charged with safeguarding your king's castle. The party arrives hoping to ask a favor from him (perhaps to pass through a guarded passage or something), and wary of these intruders, you attack them. After your defeat, you summon reinforcements and generally make getting through to the king hell for them. Later, once they prove they're not assassins or anything, you apologize and are from then on very cordial, even friendly. You also have a thing for killing dragons. Maybe they raided your hometown or something.

The really awesome side quest character from a long lost but much more technologically advanced society that everybody likes more than the main character.

The mischievous kitsune that occasionally gives riddled hints to the heroes where to go... only to lead them into a trap late in the game.
