~A Sacrifice~
"...what?"
"Well, technically, zombies are shambling bodies devoid of souls 'n spirits 'n brains 'n the like. Little Clemmie, here, seem ter 'ave plenty er spirit..."
"It doesn't make sense...I mean...look at her! What is she...a Drow?!"
"Probably..."
"What are we going to do?!" Rabid looked over to the corner where Malachi and Clematis were playing happily with Skelly and a large group of toy Dragon Kyns. It seemed a shame to leave the girl on her own, but the problems having a zombie child could bring would be devestating.
Clematis played happily with Ike, now set in the fact that his pointed ears made him a tailed Elf of some kind. Upon sensing Rabid's glance, though, she peered up and waved, smiling. Everyone was being very nice to her.
"Clemmie, hun? Could you come here for a moment?"
"Sure," Clematis stood and moved over to the tall lady, standing before her, "How can I help you?"
"Can ye tell us about ye'self? About what 'appened before ye died?"
Ike slowly walked over to listen, his curiosity peaked.
"Alright," Clematis sighed and her eyes fell to the ground, "I grew up in a city, but them Mommy died. I went to live with Auntie Farla, but she didn't want me because I was a...a...mutt. I think that means it's because my daddy was Human. They locked me in a little room and then dressed me up and brought me to a weird dark place. There were these people in robes, and they kept talking about a sacrifice to...to...Lolth? Then they put me in this chair and locked my neck in and this metal spike went into the back of my neck and I choked and died. Then I woke up."
"They used a garrotte...?"
"Clemmie? How old are you?"
"I dunno."
"How old were you when you died?"
"Seven."
"Okay. Thanks. That's all we've gotta know," Rabid smiled and shooed the children off.
"Why d'ya think they asked yah that?" Ike questioned as he went back to Skelly.
Clematis shrugged and picked up a little plastic Kyn, making it fly through the air.
"Curious," Skelly stated and mounted one of the larger toys, acting as if he were riding it.
"Well...we can't bring 'er back 'ome..."

~Always Use Protection~
Rabid wandered slowly down the hall, halting in front of Catherine's door. She wanted desperately to be around someone who knew anything about Drow...or zombies...and Catherine kind of...seemed the type. She rapped lightly on the door and waited for a response.
Ike followed closely behind Mummy, quietly explaining to Clematis where they were going and who they were going to see. He'd grown quite attached to her by now.
Clematis listened intently, a small smile plastered on her face. She wore one of Ike's more adrogynous shirts and a pair of jeans, both of which were a bit too big on her. She was glad to finally be accepted, whether or not she was going to be kept.

The magic door that lead to the apartment was open, Catherine was laying rather lazily on the couch, and Nariko sitting snugly on her belly suckling her thumb. Aphrodite nestling happily in her mother's hair, garreth laying on the floor, and Baxterfullous was idly watching from the small kitchenette as it seemed he was cooking something in a cauldron on the stove. The movie seemed to captivate the family sitting before the television, at least until the knocking came from Aphrodite's door.
Catherine perked her head up, picking up Nariko and settling her Near Garreth. Standing up, she manuvered her way over towards the knocking door. Walking through Aphrodite's relatively clean room.
Nariko simply blinked and nuzzled against her baby brother.
Aphrodite blinked as her mother stood up and moved. Buzzing up and out of her mother's hair, she followed her to see whom was at the door.
The door was unlocked, shrugging she simply turned the knob and opened the door, smiling at the site of Rabid and Ike. Her happy expression turned to curiousity looking over at the girl standing behind Rabid, her expression of curiousity turned into a sweet smile. It seemed she wasn't fazed at all by the undead. "Hello everyone, and who is your pretty little guest?" The fullest and most geniune sincerity was within Catherine's voice.
Aphrodite let out a tiny gasp, someone new! Looking at her mother, taking a deep breath she herself didn't seem fazed by this either, merely because Catherine didn't seem to find her scary... and she looked alot like Bergerac! .. Except taller.

Right then came the flushing of a toilet and the door opened. Out stepped a blonde cat-man, zipping up and buttoning his jeans lazily. He blinked as he saw the door open, blushing slightly. Oops... Sheepishly he came over to see who it was. Oh! He remembered them. "Hey... You guys are from the Halloween party right?" The young man was wearing a set of black leather jeans and a white button up shirt that he had decided to leave open, his many scars plainly visable because of it. He had left his leather jacket hanging on the back of a chair. He smiled first at Rabid, then down at Ike. He'd grown sense he'd last seen him! Hm...? She was new. He looked over at the little girl curiously, though that smile never left his lips. He raised a hand and lightly waved at her.

"Hey, Catherine," Rabid smiled, giving Clematis ample time to introduce herself.
Clematis smiled shyly and waved before gathering enough courage to speak, "Hi, Miss Catherine n' Mister...Mister..."
Ike leaned in and whispered something in the girl's ear.
"...Mister Salem. Nice to meet you." She guessed that the one with the weird ears was the male, and tried to remember that.
Rabid smiled proudly, "We were wondering if you could help us at all?"

Catherine took a moment and nodded. "Come in.. Come in." she opened the door fully, into Aphrodite's room. "This way into the apartment... What do you need help with?"
Aphrodite buzzed landing on Ike's head. "Is she your sissie?" She asked softly.
Baxterfullous blinked a bit, from the small kitchenette, siting on the counter and watching the cauldron intently.
Nariko blinked a bit and shrugged, the giant fighting turtles on the TV were far more intriguing.
Garreth leaning a bit and yawned, nuzzling his head on the pillow it was resting on.

He couldn't help but laugh softly at the whispering. That was too cute. "Pleasure to meet you guys again and you for the first time, Cutie." He gave the little girl a friendly wink. "So what is it you guys need?"
Cato was sitting up on the couch with his back up against Garreth, watching the screen wide eyeed. That was so cool... All four of his double emerald eyes just stared at the screen, the fighting turtles getting his full attention. He wanted to be like them when he grew up! He kept watching the fight, one of his rare smiles upon his lips.

"Her name's Clematis," Rabid laughed as she ushered the children in, "As for the helping...I don't know, exactly. I just figured you would know something we didn't? You know...precautions to take with an...undead Drow..."
Ike looked to Di and smiled, "I dunno. Mummy says she might be staying with us."
Clematis smiled up at Mister Salem and walked in slowly, wringing her bony hands. There were a lot of kids in here...a lot...

Nariko stared, the look of fascination upon her face. She wanted to be a ninja turtle too. "Whoo!" She exclaimed pointed at the pictures on the screen of the television.
Garreth blinked. "Feh, Dragons are better." He made a face. "The one with the red bandana says bad words alot.. Momma the one with the red bandana says bad words." He whined a bit.
Catherine made a face before she could answer Rabid. "Garreth stop tattle-telling." She sighed. "Anyways.. as odd enough to say I think I can... You see my family-"
"... buh mama he does!"
Catherine took a deep breath. "Then let his momma deal with him."
The concept baffled him for a momnet, and then made sense. He supposed his mother was right.
Catherine smiled as the baby Dragon quieted. "Clematis, why don't you and Ike sit on the couch with Aphrodite." She patted the empty couch, since the rest of the children were sitting on the floor.
Nestling in Ike's hair, she thought about what he said for a moment. "I hope she stays with you. She looks like she needs lots and lots of love!" She spoke in a voice that would not hurt Ike's sensitive ears.
Baxterfullous blinked a bit from his bubblbing cauldron, sighing a large spoon lifted itself up from it's place on the counter and began stirring the contents inside.

"Gi, ji you're natha Ilythiiri? Usstan inbal natha couple d' kids rath a ussta adoption delmah saph dos." He smiled at the little drow girl. Aparently he knew how to speak Drow. Actually he knew many languages just because of the need to talk to his children at his adoption home. He hoped it would help cure the little one's shyness. Wait... Shyness? In a female? That... Was odd... Female Drow were very dominante with the males being the submissive members of the race. Very strange... Well, he'd probably find out the cause soon enough.
Cato turned to Garreth as the dragon whined and loudly hissed a "SHHH!!" before going right back to staring at the TV like the little zombie he had been a moment ago.

"Mmhm," Ike said to Di before smiling up at Miss Catherine, "Kay. C'mon, Clemmie." He grabbed the older girl's hand and began walking away.
"Usstan tlun er'griff kitrye Ilythiiri, ou'tix, drill siyo!" Clematis said, grinning broadly and stopping mid-step. She hadn't heard anyone speak in her native tongue since her death.
"Now, that is handy," Rabid murmured, arching an eyebrow.
"C'mon," Ike said and tugged lightly at Clematis' arm, not wanting to tear her skin.
"Okay," Clematis agreed happily and walked after him to the couch, giving a final grin to Mister Salem.

Catherine made a face thinking, Only Half? That would explain why she died so young. Sighing. "...Farjali uss, xuat eszak rilbol zhah aluin tlu jugare." She patted Clem gently as she sat. "Usstan tlun aluin ulu morfeth zhaunus nau uss shlu'ta jivviim dos." Smiling towards Salem and Rabid, her accent wasn't as off sounding as one would think. "... Anyways, As I was saying before my family had many... unmentionable dealings with the drow, meaning they were on oddly enough good terms, but that's not the point. My great uncle Rupert..." She said as she walked into her room, noise followed her silence. "... Decided that he didn't want to die.. or at least when he did that he wouldn't leave this world..." Shuffling of books and metal against metal was what followed this bit of silence. "... So he became a lich, in doing so he created an amulet- OOF!" A ping and a thumped followed the 'oof'.
"...Rupert created an amulet to protect his undead form." Baxterfullous finished Catherine's sentance. "So that no cleric could turn or harm him, he was a very powerful man, I was glad I taught him well."
Aphrodite smiled a bit pointing at the TV. "It's the ninja Tutrle movie, mama got the DVD for us. It's really cool" She smiled down at Ike and then at Clemmie.

Salem blinked looking up at his girlfriend. She knew...? When did she...? "You know Drow?" He himself spoke it quite well, but his accent was off the slightest bit. Cath on the other hand seemed to get it perfectly. Wow. Guess there's still lots of things I don't know about her, huh? "Gil'ssrigghinn, il zhah ditronw, Ssinjin Uss. Dos ph' aluin tlu sreen'aur xuil udossa. Dorn tangis' plynn dos ulu thalra l' byr Ilythiiri rath a ussta delmah. Orn'la dos saph nindel?" He smiled sweetly down at the little undead girl once he had recovered, blnking over at Cath as she spoke, then at Uncle Bax. Wow... Even more that he didn't know...
The little spider mishap giggled and clapped as he watched the movie. This really was unusual. Seemed the child finally found something that he liked that didn't involve him trying to eat it...

"Bel'la dos," Clematis smiled up to Miss Catherine, but her eyes became wide and frightened when she looked to Mister Salem, "Nau! Qualla, nau. Usstan xun naut saph mina, lu' nind xun naut saph uns'aa. Usstan zhaun ol."
Ike wrapped a nervous arm around Clemmie's shoulder. She didn't look good at all. He turned to Di, "Ike dun'n't watch T.V. much. Like music better." In truth, he had little to no interest in children's movies, but he was too nice to voice his opinions.
"Sounds helpful," Rabid called to Catherine, attempting to ignore the foreign ramblings.
