Lady Angelishia ♥♡♥♡♥♡♥
Thanks so much! If we do a story based off of that I'll be sure to try and watch the movie. <3
♥♡♥♡♥♡♥ OMG!!! No no no no no... Let me edit your post for you... 'Thanks so much! Regardless if we do a story based of that I am going to watch the movie!' It has to be one of my most favorite movies of all time. Then again Jim Henson was an absolute entertainment genius and arguably the best puppeteer ever. I cannot figure out who was more awesome: Walter Elias Disney. Dr Seuss, or him. Well, then again, the masterminds behind The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (to name a few) also hold a soft spot in my heart. ---- Kala, I LOVE your idea. It reminds me of a tragic love story like something along the lines of Sleeping Beauty. I imagine you're on the start of an amazing plot that could turn into a wonderful movie, play, story book, or even a game. But, hmm.. how to incorporate it into a ball could be tricky. With that in mind, I wouldn't toss your idea under a mat, but instead find a way to incorporate it or build on it. Don't ask me why, but I suddenly get this weird idea to incorporate that into a board game. lol.

Sorry if I go overboard, I do a lot of creative writing so my imagination tends to get away from me if I don't keep a tight rein on it! And if you have any ideas, go ahead and spout them out! I like the idea, I want as many people to give input and their OWN ideas as well. ^_^ A board game??? That sounds like it would be fun... but what KIND of board game? XD

i enjoy pixels idea of two characters moving through the labrinth. as they move along more threads could open up where people could either follow our heroes or stay there to rp some more. it sounds pretty cool, we could also work a minotaur into the story to give it a little bit of a myth theme.

Ya know... That wasn't even my idea... but dare I say.. I think I like it! :O You just sent the lil' wheels in my head into overdrive... its a scary scary process and I for see a big wall of text coming in the near future. Those wheels just took off so fast I can't even put into words yet the image that came to mind. I might have to draw a diagram. Let me get back to you guys!

Lol Envy, as soon as I read that post, my little wheels exploded.
We could combine that idea with the around the world thing. Somehow, we can all be in a labyrinth and end up in places all over the world while trying to find/escape something. There could also be a ball element to it where the ball is held in a cave and someone accidentally discovers a labyrinth.
I'll elaborate once I figure out what the heck I'm saying.

Okay.. remember how I said I got this idea on a board game based on kala's plot? Well, it suddenly expanded a bit to the point it may have even become too complicated to execute... but lets see.. I actually found the name of those adventure books I had read when I was young. Come to find out they are literally called ' Chose Your Own Adventure Books. I included a link that explains the format of those book. (I don't know what I would do without wiki.. it had to be the most useful tool on the internet.) The general gist of those books is the reader actually chooses the direction of the main character. All the plots and their variables are pre-written, but how the story goes is up to the actions of the reader. Small choices like go left or go right are given after you read through an excerpt. And a pg number attached to that choice. So if I said go left.. it'd take me to like pg 19-- if I said right it would be pg 25. You don't read these books from pg 1-100, but you actually skip around depending on your choices and what pg number it sends you to. At times going right could lead you to a 'the end scenario that could either be good or bad'.. I imagine that the same concept could be interwoven into a game. An interactive Labyrinth of sorts. Full of intricate rooms that paint various scenes from around the world-- like an elaborate fun house. Maybe our main characters get lost on the way to the ball.. or something.. and our goal is to reunite them before the ball is over. Maybe even actually having the "Main Ball" in RP format and Non-RP format going throughout the entire duration-- while the adventure looms around it.

Hahaha!!! I'm glad my idea took on so well!! ^_^
And Envy, as soon as I read Choose You Own Adventure, I was hooked. That is a FANTASTIC idea!!!! Then we get a story format, but everyone is involved!! Maybe we could put up a poll every day so they could vote on the outcome? Or were you thinking we would talk it out with the RPers?
And still having the main ball open seems like a good idea, as some people may not be into the whole idea.
Gah!!!! Now I'm getting REALLY excited!

I made some crappy illustration - The red block represents the entrance into the ball. Naturally the guests would never even have to leave 'the ball' ..and they first enter into the black box.. which represents the main ball room.. and music is playing and all that cliche ball stuff that some people really like. Well.. some how our main characters go into the blue passage way.. there could be two passage ways depending on how it actually does get drawn out.. maybe they went into opposite directions some how and get lost.. or hell.. maybe we don't even go with them at all.. but never the less.. our guests would be able to chose the path if they so desired.. the green box resembles options. and the circles are portals and trap doors.. oh my.. the X is like.. a dead end.. they'd have to do something to get out of that. maybe fight that minotaur tempora was talking about. The different color passage ways and the icons resemble people going into the various themed rooms.. which would essentially have portals trap doors and other passage ways that I didn't bother drawing out. Maybe one leads to a tea party and another a forest or something.. things could be going on in those rooms.. and there could be lil mini characters who are in those rooms that could have cards that sent people in other directions.. like a live action candy land board game or something.. anyway, I haven't thought this out very well and i am not even sure i made much sense.. but i'd be willing to expand on this random thought if there was interest in my ghetto diagram.

Well, I'm still kinda stuck on how exactly to move the people along (and how to do so productively). I don't know whether or not to move people in waves, as individuals, or as an entire plot. Its all in rough draft form at this point-- but I think I'd much rather the adventures be personal to some extent.. where you actually have to gain access to the rooms-- but how to control it.. I don't exactly know. Sending people into waves of mini-games and scenarios. Where they could end up having to go back 3 spaces.. or forward 6. Possibly land on a trap or go in circles.. blah.. I'm starting to confuse myself with trying to morph in so many various elements. But if I could actually iron it out and come up with a very solid plan.. I'm certain it would be both original and fun, while encompassing not so original themes that people could be familiar with.

I think I get it. sweatdrop So, are you saying that the guests go through the labyrinth, or they follow the two characters going through the labyrinth? Just a little unclear. ^_^
And I really love the idea of mixing this with the around the world sort of theme. The different rooms could have elements from different countries, and that's just fun. razz
And, depending on how happy or not we want to go, there could be two different ways the protagonists could get separated. First off, they could get separated violently, as in, they were on the way to the ball and they were attacked by bandits or bad guys or something and in the confusion they got separated and entered the Labyrinth in two different places. OR they could be on the way to the ball, and one saw a "short cut" and decided to go through it, while the other refused and ends up entering through the main ball room. ( I kind of like the second better)

Oops! We replied at the same time. Hehe!
In any case, I'm kind of leaning toward them following the protagonist (or staying in a room they like, that's okay too!). You idea seems like it could be a ton of fun (mini games in waves of people), but it seems like a LOT of work. And something always goes wrong. *sigh* With a high maintenance idea like that it just seems like something is gonna be waiting to break down. Maybe a guide couldn't make it and a group doesn't get to go (well, there's how we could get people to go in waves, have guides at appointed times to "lead" them through).
Still, far be it from me to nay say anyone's ideas!! If we could figure out a way to make it work, it could be fun!

( I kind of like the second better) Well you know.. at first I was thinking that the guests (who chose to embark on the adventure) would go seeking for these main characters. But, if we made it adventuring parties and go with your suggestion-- the guests could then chose the main character that they wanted to follow. And become like teams.. thus creating the allure that the adventure is personal.. and yet.. structured. As much as I have this grand plot in my head-- it would require so many NPCs to work. Though, I imagine if they were pre-scripted Quest NPCs that only came out at certain times it might not require too many staff to work properly. Although suddenly I have the urge for the team captain/main characters to all start at a start.. with a goal to make it to the finish first. razz (like a board game).. and how they get there all determined by how the dice rolled.
