"We can dance well enough right here, lass," Faolan purred out before remembering who it was he was talking to and mentally slapped himself. Clearing his throat, he sat up more. "I mean, the stage is probably well past empty now and Farstep's doors are closed to patrons for the night. We'd be alone there." He looked back at her. "Unless you want me to make room here to dance, if you'd rather do it in a more private setting."

"I'm - I'm sure we can," Ellandra said shakily. "B-but later, okay?" she added, smiling weakly. She just. . . wasn't quite ready for that step, even though she knew Faolan was very much more than ready. she tilted her head a little and glanced around at the hurricane-hit interior and winced. "L-let's. . . just use the stage."

A visible shiver went through the young man at that promise of later. He looked back at her, then stood up and held out an inviting hand. "Stage it is then, love. You sure you really want to do this?" He licked his lips nervously, then smiled, very much wanting her to do this with him. He wanted to see her move, to feel her in his arms . . . even if it was only on an empty stage and not between the sheets. One step at a time, he promised himself. This was true love, after all, and one could not simply rush it. It's not like it happened every day.

"I'm not sure a-at all," Ellandra admitted, not wanting to be anythig but truthful with Faolan - he deserved the honesty, after all. "I - I'm afraid I'll h-hurt you - or my-myself, but. . . I still want to do this," she said, smiling back at the fortune-teller as she took his hand and rose to her feet.

"It's as natural as breathing, lass," Faolan said, leading her from the vardo. He gave a small wave to Zia as he shut the door, silently promising they wouldn't be long. The walk across the carnival grounds was much shorter now that it wasn't teeming with crowds. Stepping up on the stage, Faolan wandered across it in the dark, bare feet almost silent on the well-polished wood, and located a lantern normally used for the shows and lit it.
He came back to where Ellandra was at the steps, holding the lantern aloft, then held his free hand out to her. "Come along, Elle. Let me see how you move."

"I-it's not natural f-for me," Ellandra squeaked out as she was lead out onto the carnival grounds once more. Waiting anxiously as Faolan went to light the lantern, he ran all of her second-thoughts throuh her head, wondering again why exactly she had wanted to do this again and - and - and. . . there was Faolan, holding his hand out to her.
Oh, yes.
This was why.
And she took his hand.

Faolan smiled as her hand was placed in his and led her up the steps and to the center of the stage. He set the lantern down on a stool there that had been left from some act or other. "We can't have music, Elle, or you'll soon have an audience, but we can still dance by what we hear in our hearts."

"I - I don't mind," Ellandra said as she followed Faolan over to the center of the stage. "I wouldn't be able to follow it, anyway." Sadly, this was true. The closest she could come t odancing was an awkward shuffle. . . and that, of course, was nothing to be proud of and everything to be ashamed of.

Chuckling a bit, Faolan put an arm around Ellandra's waist, pulling her snug against his body. He got her to put one arm about his waist, their free hands joined and slightly raised. "There now, lass. Watch me and not your feet, alright?" He stepped back, pulling her with him gently as he began to do a simple box waltz. Step back, step right, step forward, step left. It was a simple enough dance that he was sure she could follow it, even if her moves were slightly reversed in her following him.

Ellandra tried to follow Faolan's movements - even this simple dance was difficult for her, thoug, as she kept tripping over her (perhaps overlong?) skirt. "I - I'm sorry, Faolan," she said quietly, ducking her head a little, thoroughly embarrassed by her clumsiness, especially compared to his grace. Still, she kept trying, unwilling to just give up despite her tripping - maybe it would be easier if she wasn't wearing an ankle-length skirt?

"Here, stop. Stop, Elle." Faolan let go of her and knelt down, catching the bottom of her skirt and lifting part of it up as he stood, then tucked and tied it to her belt, effectively giving the appearance of a slit in her skirt and also drawing up the length of it. He held out his hands, inviting her back into his embrace, trying not to think about her partially explosed leg. "Shall we try again?"

Ellandra squeaked when Faolan grabbed her skirt, and simply stood stock still and stared at him for a few minutes after he'd rearranged it. Better than fainting, yes, but still, she was a bit shaken. Finally, she took a few shaky steps forward, blinking owlishly at the fortune-teller. "A-all right. . ." Her voice was hesitant, and she was afraid of looking even more foolish and clumsy without being able to blame her skirt, but she was willing to try again.
For Faolan.

Faolan made a soft happy noise, pulling her to him and into the dance once again. He looked down at her, watching her eyes, a faint smile tugging at his lips. "You're doing pretty good, lass. Want to try something a little faster?"

Ellandra squeaked. "Um. .. . o-okay?" she said hesitantly, afraid of her lack of talent but trusting Faolan nonetheless.

Faolan stepped back from her and closed his eyes. "Watch, Elle." He smiled softly, hearing the music from his own soul mixed with the sounds of the carnival after hours. Slowly moving, he slid one bare foot around silently on the stage, almost going into a crouch, before fluidly twisting his body and then bringing his feet together to go up on his toes. He kept his eyes closed, focusing on the inner music, his dance moving faster.
Aware of where Ellandra was, thanks to their strange link, Faolan kept a wide berth of her, not wanting to step on her or hit her with his movements. Eventually he opened his eyes as he danced, looking up to take in the moon and stars shining overhead, a silent worship of the celestial bodies watching the two lovers.
