By the evening, Shizuru was in her office tending to people who were drunk, hurt, sick from being drunk, and other similar symptoms. She had offered to Cassie that if the girl wanted to join her or see a doctor's office, she could come along.

But Shizuru hated it when drunks started trying to hit on her when she was trying to treat them. It just didn't work. After a long while, Shizuru finally finished up the long line, closed her doors, and decided to rest. Maybe the next day would be better. There were sure to be more patients hung over and so on from the festival.

She'd have to go to Aiden's again for more supplies...

((So, Chuzuka has an excuse to not be with Shizuru or be with her!))

Isabelle The Barbers Daughter
The little shop of horrors

Isabelle had moved all of her stuff into the old sallon afer the competitions had finnished and she was free to move from the got forsaken throne she had been placed uppon.
"So, this is my new home... Not too bad, it's spacious and clean at least... Better that my old place anyway." She said wandering between the old chairs and mirrors, it was inseed spacious and clean, but it had a feeling about it, as if it wasn't quite natural or something, everything just felt... Off for some reason, not that she minded, after all her entire world was 'off' slightly. Isabelle went up stairs to have more of a look around before she headed out to check out the rest of the city...

triggerperfect,
[[I apologize for taking so long to respond, my life is becoming really hectic. I'll try to be more consistent from now on. xD]]

At Haucon's question, the apothecary turned smoothly on her heel, her long russet locks forming a kind of halo that followed belatedly after her body. She looked out the front windows and noticed that daylight was indeed quickly fading. She started a little, wondering where they day had gone before answering cautiously, "I think we'd be alright, as long as we move as fast as possible." She looked up at him, her eyes black in the fading light, "I still wouldn't be out for too much longer," Aidan blinked, before adding, "Just to be safe."

Tia had retired to her castle quarters for the night, but despite being exhausted, she was newly renovated when she started looking at her research and spellbooks... The night was still young, and she had work to try out.

----

Somewhere out in the town, a single figure scurried about, dropping a small cube in various places. One of these cubes was dropped by the windowsill of Isabelle's new office, another by Shizuru's, another by Aidan's, and yet another by the bar Shane maintained... and other places.

((*poke poke*))

Shizuru had such a headache from the night that she might as well be drunk. She eyed some wine in her open cupboard and stepped towards it.

An hour later, a tipsy Shizuru thought she was seeing aliens flying around. "Oh, dear Lord," the doctor muttered. She saw the cube, but didn't think anything of. In her mental state, the cube could be imaginary.

((No worries. I understand completely))
Haucon nodded, still unsure what exactly the danger was, only that it was in fact dangerous. He smiled to Aidan "Well, once we get the horses, we'll be even faster. " He explained. "But yes we should walk fast, although, truly you have no obligation to me. I'm perfectly capable of retrieving and delivering Moira on my own." he explained.

triggerperfect,

Aidan nodded, grateful that they had chosen to take the horses for more than one reason. Her thoughts digressed for a moment, and she vaguely wondered who she would be riding with this time. It did not take her any time at all to know that she wouldn't be leaving Haucon until he was, in her opinion, safe once again. Though she knew she had not caused the danger, the tiny apothecary still felt slightly guilty for leading this human into his current situation. Acting on this particular tangent of thought, Aidan spoke. "If it is alright with you, I'll remain with you at least until you've had the chance to collect your sister and have her safely on her way home." Her tone of voice, and choice of words made it perfectly clear that the choice was, ultimately, Haucon's.

Haucon smiled at Aidan. "Alright sounds like a plan. You ready to go?" he asked, giving her some time to get ready. When she appeared ready, he opened the door and peered out into the dark street, looking up and down. It seemed empty and he failed to notice the strange cube on Aidan's windowsill. He stepped into the street and held the door for the small woman, before setting off at a good clip, though still slow enough that Aidan' could keep up.

He led the way confidently and quickly to they'd left Moira. He was relieved to see her as he approached. She was leaning up against Morwyn the roan, patting the mare's neck and mumbling to herself. When she finally saw Haucon she stood up and moved toward him. "Are you alright?" she asked serious for once in her life. "I was worried about you. I sold out early and couldn't find either of you, and then it got dark..." she trailed off.

Haucon wrapped an arm around her in a hug to comfort her. "It's alright, we just got caught up in the crowd and couldn't get back this way." he said giving a meaningful look to Aidan, telling her not to mention the woman in red. He didn't want Moira to worry about what he assumed would amount to nothing.

Letting Moira go, he collected the reins of both horses and looked at his sister and Aidan. "It's late and I don't want either of you walking home alone. So, Moira if you want you can ride Morwyn back home now, but you'd have to ride her back here tomorrow to return her to the stables." he explained. "Or I can accompany you tonight and bring Morwyn back in tow. Or I'll face the wrath of our parents..." he said laughing quietly, "and you can stay in the big bad city tonight in the stables with me, it's not pretty but we can get you home safe in the morning." Moira nodded. "I mean it's up to you. Mom and Dad would prefer I was home safe tonight, and if I take Morwyn it'll be easier to take my basket home." she explained. "So if you don't mind I'll take Morwyn tonight. It's up to you whether you come along or not." she said with a smile.

He turned to Aidan and smiled. "Thanks for coming with me and gracing me with your presence all afternoon! Moira and I can walk you home now and then I'll go with her to our parents to take the horses home, or you're welcome to come with us, our farm is only a couple miles outside of the city, but we've had a long day so I understand if you're more interested in just getting home." he said.

((Long post trying to move us along a bit! >.<))

triggerperfect,

Aidan exited her shop, nodding gratefully to Haucon as he held the door for her. She too gazed up and down the streets around her, her skilled eye able to see almost perfectly in the fading light. They walked at a brisk pace, which the young apothecary appreciated. As the pair approached Moira's location, Aidan began to slow up slightly, giving the brother and sister a little more space. She stood away from them, more than an observer, but less than a participant. As she watched the exchange, the elf felt a small bit of jealousy toward them both. She was the only child of her parents and had never known the relation shared by Haucon and Moira. Aidan listened quietly as they discussed options, and when the conversation turned toward her, she shrugged her tiny shoulders. "I'm at your disposal for as long as you wish." Her voice was ambiguous, obviously not wanting to impose. She looked from Moira to her brother, feeling a bit awkward in her indecision.

Haucon glanced at Aidan. She'd had a long day and he didn't want to subject her to making the day any longer, but with the danger that Aidan had acknowledged, he wanted to see Moira home safely. "Well, I think it'd be best if I accompanied Moira home and then I can drop you off at your store, and I'll have the horses on my way home, so I won't be alone on my way." he explained hoping to allay (sp? 0.o) Aidan's worries somewhat. "This will also give you a chance to get a little more used to the horses." he added with a smile.

Moira also smiled brightly. "Good! Let's go, it's getting late and the woods are spooky at night!" she said with a light laugh, making it clear she wasn't afraid at all. Haucon shook his head slightly at her but helped her and Aidan onto the smaller mare before levering himself onto the large grey.

The road was wide enough that they could ride side by side all the way out of the town and to the small farm where his parents lived. A single candle burned in the widow of the small cottage and Haucon dismounted and helped Aidan down, setting her lightly on her feet before turning to help Moira "The dark means they're asleep." she said in a whisper explaining to Aidan why Haucon was being so quiet as he disentangled the basket from Farran's tack and handed it to Moira. She leaned up and kissed her brother's cheek.

"Come visit this weekend?" she asked with a pleading look at him. "Of course." he said with a smile. "And you too!" she said turning to Aidan. "Our family would love to meet you! They love meeting new people!" she said brightly, gently embracing Aidan. Moira disappeared into the darkened house, taking the candle from the window and waving one last time.

Haucon turned to Aidan. "Ready to head back into town?" he asked with a smile. He took the mare's reins and tied them to one of Farran's stirrups ((never ridden a horse, so no idea if that's actually what you're supposed to do >.< I'd probably kill us all in real life due to inexperience)). He gently lifted Aidan into the saddle, being sure to hold onto the large horse's reins to make sure he didn't shift too much. He was taller than Morwyn, and Haucon hoped the added height wouldn't scare Aidan too much. He climbed into the saddle behind her and almost unconsciously wrapped an arm around her waist to hold her steady as he took the reins and set off at a slow pace.

triggerperfect,

As she stood, waiting for an answer, the small elf's mind was racing. She could just imagine Haucon meeting the demoness in the quiet of the woods, this late at night... She shuddered a little bit and pushed the images out of her mind. Aidan had grown up in the deepest parts of the forest, and though she did not fear them, she still respected the power they had. And the power of those things which hid inside them. Expressing relief in the form of a tiny sigh, Aidan relaxed at the thought of accompanying the siblings to their forest home. The elf let herself be lifted into Morwyn's saddle, trying not to move in order prevent an onslaught of vertigo, and before she knew it, they companions were on their way out the city.

As they entered the forest, and the sounds of the city became faint, Aidan relaxed even more, feeling more comfortable in the safety of the trees. The early evening was quiet save for the muffled sound of the horses' hooves as they padded along the path, the sounds of nature, and the occasional word spoken between the three of them. When they arrived at the farm and Aidan was lowered the the ground, she used the horse beside her to steady herself.

At the invitation to visit and the unexpected embrace, Aidan stiffened slightly, unsure of how to respond. As Moira pulled away, the young elf gave a nervous smile, and half a nod. She watched the blond enter the house, and gave a tiny wave as Moira disappeared. Aidan smiled a little bit, and turned to Haucon as he spoke. She nodded in response to his question, and soon found herself mounted in Farran's saddle.

She gave a nervous laugh, looking at the ground several feet below her. As intent as she was on the ground, she failed to notice as Haucon lifted himself up behind her. Jumping slightly as his arm wound around her tiny waist, Aidan felt the muscles in her back and torso tense at his touch, and slowly relax as she became more comfortable. They began to move and she was glad at this point to have Haucon's sturdy arm bracing her against the possibility of a nasty fall. "I'm not sure if I'll ever get used to this feeling," She commented quietly. With her uninjured hand, she patted Farran's neck gently.

Haucon felt Aidan jump a bit as his arm slid around her, and he briefly worried if it had been a bad decision albeit a subconscious one, but then she relaxed once again as the horse set off and he felt a little better. Besides it felt natural for him to have his arm there. He heard her say something quietly and wondered if she was talking about him holding her or being on a horse. He chose to tactfully assume the horse.

"It takes a little getting used to, especially the height, and it's easier if it's something you've grown up doing, but eventually it becomes second nature. Although if you are actually interested in learning to ride, we'll make sure that you're just comfortable around horses before you get up on one by yourself. You're so small, a pony might actually be a better thing to start on..." his thoughts wandered for a minute.

"So...what exactly happened today? I know you called that woman a thing" he said, distaste dripping from his voice, "and I certainly felt strange when she was staring at me--us," he amended, "But what was she then?" he asked finally.

triggerperfect,

Aidan smiled, continuing to softly run her long fingers up and down the large horses neck; the digits becoming caught in the thick main every so often. "The more time I spend around them, the more curious I become. I really would like to learn more about them." the young female commented, adding in her mind, "And you.." She listened to his questions about the woman in red, and took a few moments to think before finally answering. In the lapse, she noticed that the sound of crickets and calls of night birds were becoming louder as the seconds passed, hinting to the fact that late dusk would soon fade into true night.

After choosing her words carefully, Aidan spoke, her voice floating gently in the silence, "I think you very narrowly escaped being... a feast for that woman." The word 'woman' used in the sentence felt wrong. "I'm sure that she was a demon of some kind, and my best guess is that she was some kind of succubus, or another similar breed... She was probably after you because of your stature and appearance..." Aidan let her voice trail off, slight colour rising in her cheeks in the dimming light. Honesty was, in this situation, for the best.

Haucon wished he could suppress the shudder that went through him at Aidan's words. He'd heard of succubi, but had always thought they were just the stuff of old wive's tales to scare young men. "Well..." he coughed a bit and also could feel the flush rush to his face as Aidan seemed to compliment his appearance. "What would you propose I do in that case? I mean, I'm safe now right?" He asked hopefully.

triggerperfect,

Aidan felt the shudder run through Haucon's body, and sympathized with him. It scared her just to be in the presence of such a creature. She could only imagine what it would be like to be the target of a thing like that. Oblivious to Haucon's embarrassment, Aidan wished that she could do something to make him feel better, and sufficed by lightly placing her uninjured hand on his. "Stay out of secluded places in the city, and keep to the main crowds and thoroughfares for the next week or so, to be safe... Right now," She paused, thinking for a moment. "I think you're safer than you would be alone."
