"Unity, Aedrus. You need a pin..." she murmured.
"Rose." Pyre said softly.
"Ah, thank you. Mine won't be as good as what he can... and should... buy...." she said warningly.
"Can it double for Daybreak?"
"Take that up with Lord Theirry."
Pyre shuddered. "Isn't there some one else I could ask?"
"Keller?"
"Never mind!"

He looked confused again. "Unity..." Then turned and placed his hand around hers. Firecracker...what is she speaking of? He decided to make use of their physical connection to start building their private link, even though no blood had yet been exchanged.

*All non humans here wear identifiers, so we know what eachother are. See, she has a ring with a black Dahlia on it. That means she's a witch. Demons usually get something close to their Thes equivalent, since few locals, even the non humans, know about us. So when I come,* she swept back some hair to show of f a small black dahlia ear cuff. *Roses are for vampires. Black means that we're non humans. Then daybreak... it's a group... people tend to leave you alone of you're daybreak... their lord is scary...*

I am no vampre... The answer formed gruffly in her mind as he let go of her hand. "I will have no rose on my pin, if you please...perhaps some other symbol...but no rose."

"Fine then, flames." Pyre rolled her eyes.
"Well, perhaps if you could tell me about what your race is like, I could help you?" Tatiana offered gently, sheathing the dagger into a scabbard at her hip.

"We are of the earth, and though we may take blood to live, we do not kill our prey. We are animal and man put together, a dark beast filled with instincts and a highly intelligent brain. Vampires are what we become when we give into the call of power and kill those we feed from when all our colors and emotions are no more. Carpathians sleep as if they are dead, stopping all systems and laying in the earth to heal. We can be in the early morning light or the late evening sun, though we will still be hurt, we can learn to tolerate it." He took a deep breath..."Vampire, in my world, is a souless demon with no hope or soul. I am and never will be one of those creatures."

"So basically he's Amiie," Came an amused female voice. The sound of beads rattling accompanied her laugh.
"Snake!" Pyre cried out happily, then she froze. "Rachel....?"
"Still at work, Pyre. How goes the adulthood quest?"
Pyre flushed lightly.
Snake chuckled. "Alright, later then." Snake was tall and slender, stunningly beautiful with long soft blond hair in waves to the small of her back, delicate pale features and blue eyes tinged with silver. She was wearing an ocean blue sweater and a long sand colored skirt that brushed the ground lightly. Around her neck was a long silvery chain holding a pendant of a black rose in front of a sunrise.
Beside her was a man, slightly taller, and unbelievably handsome, as handsome as the woman was pretty. his shirt hair is maybe dark? It's hard to tell because its completely covered in beads, making it almost impossible to see. He is in a white teeshirt, a black leather jacket, and dark Jeans. He has on a ring with the same sunburst and black rose. HE waved once, lightly, the beads rattling in his hair.
"Unity to you too, Rattle," Pyre said polity. "I don't suppose you two would be willing to not tell my sister I'm here?"
"Not tell my favioarte dress up doll that the biggest distraction to her work is here?" Snake teased, ruffling Pyre's hair. "Don't worry about us kid. But the way gossip is in this town, ten to one she knows already."
"Leave me some illusions, will ya?"
Snake shrugged and studied Aedrus. "In your world a vampire is a soulless demon with no hope or soul, eh?" she asked, considering that. "Well, goes to show, all the translation magic in the worlds and some things will never be communicated properly. Little tip for world traveling... every race name... even human... it all seems to be different from world to world. If you want more details, find the crone. She knows more Then Nissa even, or her visual twin, Ami. But the long and the short of it is... here... Well..." She blinked then sighed. "Fine. I'll leave it to you then Pyre. Just... keep an eye on him. Especially around Morgead and Jezbel. You know how defensive they get... about their past."
"Only by being told. Never met them," Pyre mumbled.
"Visit Daybreak more often."
Pyre shuddered.
Tatianna laughed a bit. "I think M'lord scares her."
"She's Rachel's sister, talks to the crone, and hangs around Robin, but THEIRRY scares her? Goddess bless..."
"I don't spend too much time with Robin..." Pyre mumbled.
"In case her father comes home?" Snake asked.
"The necklace?" Pyre said, turning to Tati again.
"Ah, yeah. Dahliah then, I suppose. But he's not going to find any doners without a rose."
"I... can't."
"Maybe it's best if you don't stay long anyway, Pyre," Tatiana said softly, seriously. "You don't want the curse to affect him too. Get him out, while he can."
Pyre shook her head a bit, looking sad almost. "He said he's sticking around me. It'll happen eventually."
"I suppose," Tatiana said, hesitantly. "All the same, I'll let people know to be careful...and you... make sure he feeds on deer or something..."
Pyre nodded. "Alright. I'll do my best."
"And for the love of the high ones, if he is still free of it, keep him away from the clinic!"
"Yes, Tatiana."

Aedrus bristled beside her, partially from the closeness of the other male and partially from being talked about as if he were not there. You, my firecracker, have some explaining to do. If you are ill or bewitched, it is my duty and right to aid you in getting better or freeing yourself. And I do not approve of their talking about me as if I am not here. He stepped closer to her, his body dwarfing hers in a protective manner.

She stepped away the slightest bit. *then join the conversation,* she sent back tartly, then sighed. *Right. We can be a bit... I'm sorry. I forgot what it was like when I first came here. It's hard to get a word in edgewise. As for the curse... There is no cure, and frankly, though they'd never say it, most of the natives are glad of it. It's transmitted by blood and by air. The crone says it's like a virus that way. If anyone bleeds and you breathe the air, you catch it. There are some... benefits to it... but to some of us.. they don't outweigh the negative. But given who would be dead if a cure was found, I can shoulder the curse. And you don't have to hover so. No one here will hurt me. The few people in the town who might try to hurt some one... lets just say protective isn't a streak in this town, it's a six lane expressway. It's pretty safe.*
Tatiana blinked a moment. "The curse," she said to him, "Is simple and devious at once. An Ancestor of the Royals cursed her sister "To live in an eternal %%%%," Tatiana smiled a bit. "I'll bet dimes to diamonds she never realized that the side effect would be eternal life. We're cursed. It is nearly impossible to kill anyone carrying it. However," her face grew grim, "It brings with it the worst of luck. Not the lost your keys kind, the your daughter has cancer, you're kidnapped and tortured, powerful people hate you kind of bad luck. At the moment , you are the only one in the town free of it. Almost every human you meet here knows about the Night world. They have to, because almost all of them is over three hundred years old. There were... explanations. If you want more information, you should talk to mom, or to Candle."
"Prickly." Snake said to him with a grin. "I like that, but next time, say something to us directly, Kay?" she said, tousling his hair like he was a child. "Ohh, you have good hair, you know that?"
Rattle moved, slipping himself between Snake and the others.
Pyre laughed lightly. She took his hand to offer him some small reassurance. *they can be a little... overwhelming at times, yeah?*

Aedrus felt sick from the other woman's touch, though he did not show it. "Forgive me, I meant no offense. It is merely my way to size others up before conversing." He squeezed Pyre's hand gently, grateful for her reassurance. Overwhelming is indeed a good descriptor for them.

*You do get used to it,* Pyre assured him, then with a mental grin that was downright impish. *eventually.*
Snake grinned at him. "Think I could play with your hair While Pyre's dealing with Rachel? I bet you Ari has some clothes that would look amazing on you."
Tatiana grinned at snake, then back at him. "No offense taken. It's fine."

He shrugged and smiled downa t Pyre. How do I politely turn her down, Firecraker? In truth, it is only your hand that keeps me from stepping away. I do not wish to be rude to your friends. "If it is what you wish...you may."

"If you want to say no, you can," Pyre assured him out loud.
Snake laughed. "I don't mind. Just thought she'd like a little space when she confronts Rachel, and you'd like to be out of the blast radius."
