"I am here for love."
He looked at Rogue. Such tension and hostility it was almost like their hold was on the brink of letting go in this city. Treaties of peace...such fragile things, phases really. He remembered a time when you crushed the opposition in your own place of dominion. Rome had been an attempt at peace much like today...when that fell apart it not only dissolved supernatural authority there but it rippled and destroyed the empire itself.
"I am here for her."
Shinigami...that was something he had heard a lot about in the east. Perhaps this demon had enough influence to set himself up as some deity. Enough power. That would not be helpful to their cause at all. He had fought such entities before and many times enlisted the help of others. Normally this one would be nothing as long as the world was not facing another apocalypse but because it directly effected Rogue he could not fight off the compulsion to kill it.

"Gabriel was just speaking with someone, he shielded the conversation, I'm not sure if I like this...Ahh, General Boris...yes, I remember...quite a nuisance at times if I recall correctly." she spoke to Rogue as she crossed the room and opened two cabinets that seemed to be a part of her desk, "Who is this Father and why has he sent him? There has to be some other reason than your protection."
Within one of these cabinets was a supply of blood packs while the other was filled with various types of liquor, though it was mostly wine. She removed two blood packs, one for Rogue and one for Veroen after sensing his hunger. The blood packs were warmed in a small microwave concealed within another cabinet. She emptied both packs into glasses and mixed one with a generous amount of whiskey for Rogue.
"Gabriel, would you like a drink as well?" Alexz asked.
She brought Rogue her glass as the bottle returned to its rightful place and the cabinets gently shut, "I'm no bartender, but I hope this is to your liking," she grinned.
Making her way to her bed, she offered the second glass to Veroen, "Thirsty?"
As Gabriel stated his reason for coming to New York, she kept her expression in check. Though it was plausible that Rogue was his reason for coming to New York, she suspected it was not his only reason. She smiled politely.
"Precious," she commented, her acting rather convincing.

She watched Alexz as she went to the cabinet, and leaned a hip against the arm of the lovely couch and crossed her feet, as well as crossed her arms.
Rogue did not physically respond to what Gabriel said, and tried to think through his words. At Alexz's response however, she rolled her eyes and a slight chuckle came out of her. Precious indeed. She did not fully understand.
"So let me understand something. You're here for me. And you're here for love, but the love of whom?" She wanted clarity on his statement. She knew he talked about Father, and here to do what he was told by him, whoever 'he' was. And General Boris was here on behalf of the same person, yet Rogue had killed said person....so she supposed her confusion was in the lack of clarity.
As well as his hidden conversation with someone else, according to Alexz...curious. Rogue was always curious.

"I am not sure if you can classify it as love...well at least we do not have the same understanding as love as He does anymore. He has changed."
Thinking for a moment over the last five hundred years he remembered when he first met Father. He was different in manner than other vampires but for all that he was relatively normal. He smiled, he was happy, he enjoyed music and such things. Then he went to New York and the next time he saw him he was different. Darker. A very noticeable change, at the time he did not know what caused it but if he had died whatever he went through to come back could no doubt be responsible. Searching his mind he did not feel his presence nor did he feel any compulsion to abstain from giving to much information in his blood. Perhaps he was tired of hiding and wanted Gabriel to break the ice. Gabriel stood up and started pacing around the room stopping at a map and focused on the cradle of life...the middle east where somewhere Father had many millenia ago had been human and a nomad.
"It has been some five years I would guess since he has been in New York. I doubt he is easily forgotten, he stood at seven feet tall. Old beyond measure which is why I call him Father. He is the oldest vampire I have ever met...he claims to not be the first but perhaps he doesn't want the attention he does have many vampire cults that have idolized him as the first scattered across the world."
Turning to look at them again he let out a sigh and slumped his shoulders for a moment as if trying to get something out that was hard to cough up. And then with reverence he spoke.
"Revan."

Rogue's eyes narrowed at a painting in Alexz's room, and she, leaning against the couch with eyes frozen there, lifted her glass slowly and drank the entire glass without stopping.
When she held the empty glass before her, she looked at Alexz merely signally a refill immediately, and moreover of whiskey.
It had been several years, but she knew Revan. And he wasn't here anymore. Love...I think not. Images flashed through her mind of him, and anger began to permeate her aura in waves.
She then looked at Gabriel and stated flatly. "He never loved me."

She moved to place Veroen's glass on her side table beside her clock. At the mention of Revan's name, the glass landed with a clang. Alexz murmured an apology as she made her way to Rogue's side. The empty glass was taken to her desk, where it was refilled in an instant with more whiskey than before.
"Hope that's strong enough, certainly feels like you need a drink," she commented.
She returned the glass to Rogue before taking a seat on the couch beside her.
"Father? That's what he goes by? That name should be saved for priests and legitimate fathers," she commented, clearly displeased but the identity of this Father, "Why now?"
Her legs crossed so she could prop her arm on her knees and rest her chin on her hand. Her gaze was rather icy, though she was not nearly as angry as Rogue. Gabriel's motives were rather suspicious and she already didn't trust him.

"I'm not sure why now. There are things that only he will be able to answer."
He tried to brainstorm the questions but he truly did not know everything about Revan. In truth he probably only knew a very small fraction and that was more than most people knew. He saw the tension building in the room and knew things were getting a little hot. Evidently He was not as welcomed back in New York as He was hoping. If Gabriel was not careful his welcome would be very short lived.
"I cannot testify much to the love that he says he has for you other than the undeniable urge I have to constantly put up with to protect you. I don't know everything that transpired between the two of you when he was here. I do know that there is some kind of affection for you but beyond that I suggest you seek him out. I think perhaps something keeps him from coming here personally."

Rogue grasped the glass from Alexz and used every bit of control she had not to crush the glass within her fingertips. Proclamations of love, Rogue had had. Most had only wanted power from her. She only believed few had loved her, and as it was with most vampires, love was a touchy subject. She did not forget Revan. And she had not forgotten General Boris. She had helped arrange for his demise. If he was, too, working for Revan, and was seeking to destroy her, how funny this all seemed. Love. Hah.
She looked at the contents in the glass, her mind racing. She flipped the contents down in one quick wash, set the glass on the stand beside her, and looked at Gabriel. She wanted to draw Revan out. And she would. What better way than to make the 'Father' jealous.
She closed the gap between her and Gabriel in a fluid motion. "Love?"She looked deep into Gabriel's eyes questioningly, and in his personal space, and her eyes lit as if burning flames of emerald fire. She moved slowly and kissed him softly, closing the few centimeters between them, and moved into a passionate kiss that could, supposedly wake the dead.

Clearly the drink she had made had an effect on Rogue's state of mind. Either that or Revan had spited her so much that she wanted to hurt him in any way possible. As Alexz sensed Rogue's intention, she turned away from them and gazed out the window. Love was a tricky thing; she had seen it cause people to do crazy things, and this situation was a prime example.
Her mind wandered elsewhere as she gazed at the stars. The room seemed to fade from her mind as she reflected on her human life. Then, the concept of love lasting for an eternity was easy to grasp. Forever is not very long for humans. Now, she wasn't so sure if everlasting love was possible. To her, love was temporary. Its effects were what she thought were eternal.

Gabriel did not expect it and was so stunned he did not stop it only raising his hands to rest them on her shoulders taking a slight step back. It was the same as any kiss for the first time, a spark of desire however mixed with confusion and honestly enjoyable. At first he started to raise his hands to cradle her face in the moment but just as he was about to they instead went to his head as a howl ripped out of his mouth jerking him away from her. The blood in his veins burned him and in his mind Revans presence stabbed him like thousands of icey knives.
"Tot ciine!" (treacherous dog.)
Revans voice broke through over Gabriels own in an odd blend of the two but Revans being the most distinct. His Romanian accent broke through Gabriels as he spoke from him but too him. Gripping his head he looked at Rogue his eyes glowing as embers. His legs trembled with rage and pain, Revan was for the most part in control of Gabriel but he allowed the pain to continue through his body.
"Why do you spurn me?!"
Now Revan was clearly speaking to the woman. Rage was a background in his voice, oddly enough there seemed to be more despair than hurt. As if she had not merely rejected him but in the act caused him to lose hope.

With whatever she had gained from a blood exchange with Alexz, she felt the psychic spurning of Revan before she heard the manifestation through Gabriel. Gabriel's touch was soft, and as he drew away, hands to his head, she knew she had made the right move to get Revan to the forefront to have a word...not through a messenger but to the vampire himself.
Rogue's eyes were ablaze as she almost looked through him seeing Cabriel's stance even change. Everyone carried themselves differently, and this was a clear distinction from Gabriel. Her eyes narrowed at him, and a sly grin crept to her face. "Spurn you?? My dear Revan, why do you taunt me? Who are you to shadow me in New York when you've made it clear by your absence that I am nothing to you, that I was nothing. You even send another to stand in your place as a protector, when in reality, I've fought for my very life with no help from such...false promise of protection."
She was referring to fighting with Veroen. She glanced over to him. That fight is long over...do not worry. I want to fight the void with you...it is imperative to do whatever the cost to fight it...
She looked back to Gabriel, though, looked straight at Revan. "How could you have hope, when you have abandoned me as clear as the morning sun casting crisp silhouettes across the horizon? You send an assassin who was after my life???" She referred to General Boris. Her words held weight to them, and were spoken in a low tone edging on disgust.

"His failures will be swiftly punished I assure you but do not dare to tell me how I feel. I have tried making my way back and you were something to me before!"
With that Revan through Gabriel clearly had a fall into some memory. On the night he met her on the streets and the infatuation that grew and grew and grew. Then he remembered that young vampire...the one that opposed even he. Their so called guardian of the coven and Revan again seemed angry and bitter.
"The hell and torment I have went through to return to this plane of existence, the pieces of my soul that I will never have back you know nothing of! Yet I had hoped something could be salvaged where nothing on your part had grown to begin with! For one so eldered I seem to be so foolish."
Crimson tears welled up in Gabriels eyes and whether they were because of the pain or a reflection of Revan it was hard to tell. If there was any indication though perhaps it was Gabriel falling into the chair the pain apparently stopped but Revan still in control. Looking around the room at the others there he remembered them all.
"I will withdraw him and myself from you forever if you so wish."

As Revan was channeled through Gabriel, Alexz became interested. She observed him silently, taking note of his physical and mental states. Her brow arched at the pain that was being inflicted on Gabriel. It was sad how he manipulated Gabriel and she felt sorry for him.
She wondered why Revan had sent a messenger; if he felt as he claimed, one would assume that he would come to Rogue as himself. The mental effort of controlling Gabriel from afar must be exhausting, so it wasn't as if he was idly passing the time, but it was rather ruthless. To manipulate another for personal benefits was cruel, especially if it caused intense pain. She immediately disliked and distrusted Revan.

Cady...She thought to her lover. Her protector. The protector of the Coven before she had even assumed very much control within the coven of New York. Pain of a different kind flicked through Rogue's aura. She hated thinking of him. Of Cady's absence.
Love. A low growl got stuck in her throat...the rage growing in her stirred the sleeping beat of the Sanguinarian.
She looked at Gabriel. She didn't want the messenger to feel the pain of Revan, no matter what the cause. They all felt enough pain for lifetimes of being what they were, however cold and ruthless most of them acted. "Release Gabriel, and make him your pawn no longer. If you come to New York yourself, I wonder what could happen. But I will no longer speak to you like this. Release him...for me."

"I have tried coming to you...many times....I cannot physically enter the city. I do not know why."
As fast as the last word was uttered the presence of Revan was gone. Gabriel sat there and looked around the room at them and was thankful for her request yet at the same time he knew what Revan felt more than she did. He had seen him. He felt sorry for his Father and somewhat frustrated with her yet understood her. Setting back in the chair he let out an unnecessary sigh and closed his eyes as if he was recovering from the mother of all headaches.
"You understand the blood bond, he cannot release me anymore than I can release myself. Only time will fade it unless we renew it. However he is gone for now, you'll have to try and get yourself killed to see if Ill feel compelled to help you."
Either way Gabriel did not care.He was aware of everything that had transpired and thought he atleast owed something to Revan to try and defend him a little without insulting her and her feelings.
"Will you allow me to show you him...what I saw him as before I came? His condition?"
Standing up he took off his coat and rolled up his sleeve extending his wrist to her if only she would come and have a drink and.....a vision.
