Ed was leaning back in her chair, trying to stretch out her sore spots when she froze. She relaxed in her chair and cocked her head.
"...Hm, I thought I heard something from the main room," she remarked to Valter.

Rhys, on the other hand, was blissfully unaware of any goings-on downstairs. He was now enjoying the sudden inspiration of the composer, who had somehow found a cowbell, a singer, and two lyre players and blended them all together into a new song he called "Don't fear the Reaper".
How they managed to memorize the lyrics in such a short time, not to mention play the parts so well, Rhys wasn't sure. It might've been the fact that the band had stolen most of the lyrics and music from "Don't fear the Winter", but that song never achieved popularity in Learania, and few were likely to pick up on the similarities. Only Merlinus grumbled something along the lines of "It's been done before".
(I may not be on much. Weather's downright COLD out here tonight, and with really strong wind gusts, I don't know how this Internet will fare.)

Tibarn was up by this time, listening to the band as he sampled the refreshments and sipped at a nice Scotch. Ayra was in the bathroom, as Nature calls pregnant women frequently, and now despite the lipstick planted on his face and neck, the shirtless Hawk King was shamelessly making the rounds. Gently, he brought his hand down on Amelia's shoulder and patted lightly. "How's it going, hon? Looks like things got a little crazy in here earlier, I wasn't, uh, really paying attention."

"Realy? What did you hear?" asked the man, remembering that Ed could hear things that he could not.

Aran was probably on his third round of punch, at least Im not drinking beer or wine. Don't wanna end up like Victoria, she seemed kind of doozy from the wine. Hopefully nobody would get drunk.

[[And I am back.]]
Amelia stood at the edge of the dance floor, hands laced in front of her, and listened to Rhys' choice in music. The song was a decent one, but the addition of a cowbell gave it a rather humorous charm that Amelia couldn't ignore. She closed her eyes, trying to imagine an accompanying drumbeat behind the lyre notes. As such, Tibarn's presence came out of seemingly nowhere, though she didn't show the surprise, unless he took her brief pause after he finished speaking to be her recollecting herself.
"Well... It's going well. There were... a couple of bumps," she admitted, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear. Incident with Siegell -- though I don't think anyone noticed it -- and the near-disastrous dance-off... "But nothing goes perfectly. And I think this is turning out well."
Amelia tilted her head up and to the side to look up at Tibarn's face, smiling wryly. "And of course you weren't paying attention. There's enough mistletoe hidden around here to keep you and Ayra quite occupied..."

"I heard...voices. And now I can't. All I can hear is that cowbell."
Ed inclined her head left and right, though she heard nothing else.
"Ah, well..."

"That's odd. Could you recognize the voices?"

Ed mulled over this for a few moments, tilting her head in one direction and furrowing her brow. She knew one voice was somewhat familiar and she shifted through her mind to dig up the source, but she couldn't find it. The other voice was not as familiar.
"Mm... I think I know one of them, it sounds like a man, but I can't remember who it is. The other sounds like a girl, who's got this really weird ring to her voice... But I can't hear them, so I guess they stopped talking."

"Well, if you recognize them, then I guess we don't have to worry about anything being stolen. Still, I wonder who they come from..."

Zelos let out a small, defeated whimper as he took Alihi by the hand. "So he's your friend, eh? Well, darling, it didn't hurt to try. Come on in, both of you." With an elegant hand motion, he pulled Alihi into the room, dragging Abel in right behind her. But, as Alihi was propelled to the other end of the room by her momentum, Zelos took Abel into a headlock, and quietly whispered into his ears. "You better not hurt her, do you understand me, Cloud?" And with a light push, he sent Abel over to Alihi. As his serious mood ended, he went back to before. "Alright, let's get this party back on track!" He scanned the CDs again, looking for something upbeat and festive. But, he went back to the ones he'd already used, finally picking a song. "Here we go! Internet Memes, Track 6!" As the music started, Zelos started swaying back and forth in his chair, singing roughly with the music in a soft whisper. "Mambo mambo hey!"

Amelia's eyes turned from Tibarn, over to the DJ booth as a new track played a song she didn't even recognize. "...What has gotten into him?" she laughed, sighing. "Man... Rei is too weird sometimes..." She shifted her standing position a little, resting most of her weight on her right leg.

Alihi smiled again. "Thank you, Zelos!" She didn't protest being called "darling", although it did irritate her a bit. She also let herself get guided to the other side of the room.
While waiting for Zelos to finish doing whatever he was doing to Abel, a nagging feeling rose back up in her.
"... I'm really curious about that present now!" A small frown came to her face, and she looked at Abel as she appoached. "... Abel, I'm too curious now. I can't take it anymore! I've got to open your present!" She ran a hand through her hair in a distressed manner (whatever that would look like).

"Ammeeellliiiaaaaa," Lyre appeared attached to Amelia's elbow, both arms curled around the trainee's arm in a sort of... arm hug. Her illness had finally gone, although she hadn't emerged until she was sure she was fully better.
Because if Ayra was going to continue trying to ruin her, she needed the energy to do so.
