Esmeralda grinned slightly once Emily was gone. "Well, in that case, I'm going to the barn instead," she said lightly. "I'm not allowed to sleep. Maybe I can find my brother." She wandered out again, and off in the general direction of the barn.

Xavier watched the two girls leave and then looked at Nanina. After hesitating, he stood up [after sitting down on Emily's cot.]
He muttered something as he walked past Nanina, but it was unaudible, and even if it was, it would probably have been horrible and inappropriate. He was going in the direction of the mess hall, which had been his destination before finding Emily.

Emily couldn't think at all. Her mind was blurry and her tears were dried up. She had walked past Shannon's house and stopped to stare. She knew Keith wass till there and took a step towards the house; then headed somewhere quite; sniffling and trying not to cry again. She was already feeling weak and a headache was starting from all the crying she had done. Emily wanted to go home nad yet couldn't find herself to do it. Afterall that would dissapoint her mother and father.

Esmeralda stumbled wearily into the barn. Her eyes lit up when she saw her brother patiently grooming a large black horse. "Wow, Roman," she said, coming closer. "Is that one going to be yours?"
Roman indicated that she should stay back. "Yeah, I'm going to be working with him," he said. "His name is Phoenix. But he doesn't like people very much, so be careful. Last thing we need is to augment your concussion."
Esmeralda stuck her tongue out at him, but felt better for the bickering as she went past her brother and the horse to see Sahara.

Nanina frowned when everyone left and she was alone. Well then. She muttered, turning on her heel and leaving the cabin. Her stomach grumbled at its emptyness, and she began to continplate wheather she wanted to eat or not.

Keith was back in the large kitchen, another sandwich in his tanned hands. A glass of sweet tea in his other.

After a little while, Roman thought to wonder about where his sister had gotten to. Looking over his shoulder, he didn't see her. Carefully putting down his currycomb and ignoring Phoenix's indignant snort, he wandered down the hallway to look for her.
Esmeralda went into Sahara's stall, gently stroking the mare's neck as the horse inspected her, sniffing and snorting softly as she checked for injuries.
It felt weird to have someone care so much, even if it was a horse. "Easy, Sahara," she murmured. "It wasn't your fault, and I'm okay, really. Just a little bump on the head." Running her fingers through the horse's fine mane, she smiled a little. It felt weird to have someone care, but it felt nice, too.

Emily had by then calmed down and was sitting on the fence. Singing her heart out; not caring who heard her. She just needed to think and be alone for a bit. She sighed and slowly began heading back to her room;singing clearly as she passed by Shannon's house. It was a habit she had whenever was feeling down and needed some comforting.

Roman could hear someone singing from up the hill, near the house. For a second, he wondered if it was Ez, if she'd somehow snuck around him and left without him noticing, but quickly dismissed it. Ez was a mezzo - this singer was not.
That decided, he poked his head into Sahara's stall and grinned as he spotted his sister, her head resting on the horse's neck as she crooned softly to it. "Peek, baby," he said.
Esmeralda jumped, glancing over her shoulder. "Don't do that, Roman! You'll upset Sahara!" she scolded, shaking her head and ignoring the dizziness this brought her.
Yeah, she thought with a little inward grin even as she gave her brother a mock glare, it was nice to have people who cared.

Xavier had somehow managed to reach the mess hall, had eaten, and was now trying to find the way back to the boy's cabin. He was texting Rebecca on his cell phone, saying rude things to her, when he heard singing. He didn't stop walking, or texting, but he listened to it. Unfortunately, he was no multitasker and did not realize the singing was getting closer as he walked - and this caused him to bump directly into Emily, the girl who had been singing. About 6'2", Xavier was taller than Emily, and he instantly could see it. He did not say anything when he bumped into her, just backed away a few steps and closed his cell phone.
Kahlilia had explored the fields for hours, tiring Benvolio out close to completely. He fell asleep in his stable after being washed down - due to all the dust that had collected on his coat, again - and fed. Kahlilia was in her room, unpacking and making herself at home. She was not close enough to hear Emily singing directly, but she could hear the faint melody of the song. She smiled to herself. What a pretty song, she thought. She brushed her shoulder-blade length light brown hair and after snuggling into her bed, took a nap.

Emily felt someone bump into her and groaned which caused her singing to stop in mid-note.. When she backed away, She recognized the boy from earlier who had walked into her room. Emily sighed and tilted her head up to get a good look at his face since she only stood at Five foot five. He was handsome she could give him that much credit; yet from what happened earlier at the stables, Emily could tell he was not her type.

After a few more minutes of snuggling Sahara, Esmeralda reluctantly sneaked out of the barn. There was no need to, really - Roman wouldn't care where she was going as long as she wasn't going to sleep on a concussion - but she did it anyway, just to practice. Sneaking was one of her favourite pastimes at home, and she didn't want to get out of the habit.
Spotting Emily and Xavier, she did a little eye-roll and smile, but carefully skirted them, as close as she could get without (hopefully) being spotted. Getting caught out so close to her target - the cabins - would be embarrassing.
Roman went back to Phoenix after a few minutes. The horse turned and inspected him for a moment or two, then snorted arrogantly and turned his head away again.
"Stubborn, aren't you?" muttered Roman. "Well, buddy, you're stuck with me whether you like it or not."

Xavier shifted, but hesitated to speak. When he finally spoke, he was obviously uneasy; "Hiya. Um... you okay? Since... you never really said." He puffed up his chest like he had done in the stables, both because he knew she was looking at him and because he didn't want to sound weak - that was the last thing he wanted. He was an alpha-male, and usually refused to settle for anything less.

" I feel fine now." Emily replied gazing at the sky then back at Xavier.
Emily rolled her eyes, this was the type of guy that drove her insane. She simply changed her stance and squared her shoulders since Emily was taught to never slouch. Emily felt like heading to Shannon's house yet didn't want to appear rude to Xavier. Instead she backed away a few inches and contented herself with gazing at Xavier with emotionless eyes. She was not the type of girl who would turn to mush at the sight of a cute guy.

"Thats... good to hear... I guess."
Xavier both looked and sounded confused in a way. He had looked up in the sky when she had, half expecting to hear a loud "Made you look!" and when he never did, he was a little surprised. After maybe a moment of standing infront of her wordlessly, he muttered what could have been a goodbye, repeated it in a more audible tone, and left in an attempt to find the boy's cabin again. At least he was going in the right direction.
