Soon enough Terrie had cleaned her plate and was eyeing the pie excitedly. "Now?" She asked, inhaling the mouthwatering scent of warm apples and the crust.

Teasingly Emris sighed and slowly picked up the knife, "I guess." But as soon as he started cutting the foxtaur picked up speed and soon a piece of pie was on both of their plates and he was already poking a small piece into his mouth.

A paw tapping lightly on the floor, Terrie eagerly took her piece and bit into a big bite. She smiled with pleasure and her tail even started to sway again. That pie was a little piece of heaven. True comfort food. "Delicious." She said before her second bite.

Nodding Emris quickly devoured his piece and another before scooting his plate away. With a yawn the foxtaur grinned, "I'm definitely full now." He reached into his pouch and searched for the coins to pay with before the server could catch him off guard again.

Terrie licked her lips and patted her tummy. "Me too."
She started playing with her scarf and frowned. "So, what now?" She needed something to keep herself from slidding back into sadness. At least until the pain stopped being so sharp.

Sending the server off with their plates and her pay, Emris glanced about and slowly stood. "I guess we shop about some more." He replied with a small grin. Walking to Terrie's side he smiled politely, "So...shall we go?"

Terrie nodded. "Okay." She stood with a small stretch and went back out into the fresh air. She gasped when she saw how many more taurs now toured the market. She took a step back with searching eyes.

Taking Terrie's hand Emris gave a comforting squeeze before murmuring softly, "It'll be okay." His eyes searched the crowd and still found no familiar taur in sight. Gently tugging at Terrie's hand, Emris lead them deeper into a more spacious area of the market. It was still crowded though but most were either just walking by or actually going into the set up tents and booths that were along the way.

Stiffening when her hand was taken, Terrie looked hesitantly at Emris. Did this mean he still wanted to be friends? He was comforting her after all. With a small nod, she squeezed his hand back and walked after him.
Covering a yawn, she tried to watch for stores they would need.

Looking from booth to booth, Emris sighed softly as he remembered what they had really came to the market for. 'Does she really....' He started but shook his head, there was no way he could push her in that sort of direction. Emris himself though torn knew that helping Terrie came before anything he might secretly think or feel. "So...where do you want to start?" He asked Terrie still gazing around.

Terrie nibbled her lip as she pondered her answer. Wood seemed like the place to start. Flooring maybe? Or...
With a deep sigh she tightened her hold on Emris' hand. "I want to start by talking to you." She said, tugging him away from the crowd and toward the woods behind the shops. She knew assuming was a bad thing, so she was going to find out for sure what Emris thought of... things. Her heart was pounding in fear of finding out for sure that he wouldn't return her feelings.

"Okay then we'll...." Emris blinked as Terrie's words registered in his mind, what would they need to talk about? Was she wanting something different for her home or was she going to tell him that settling down here would be a mistake for her? Was she...was she going to be like his cousin? Xennek could never really settle down for long since the allure of traveling had never truly left his spirit.
"Umm...okay." Emris finally managed allowing Terrie to lead him away from the crowd. His tail drooped behind him as he tried to keep a straight face instead of showing any hints of disappointment.

Reaching the woods, Terrie let go slowly of Emris' hand and leaned against one of the trees for support. She wasn't used to talking about this kind of thing. What should she say?
"I- I need to know something. About earlier, with the- with the- cent-" She took a breath and held it. "Centuar." Her hand reached up and began twirling her hair in her usual nervous tick. "Are you really so- upset about this?" The hair not in her fingers draped her face from the male foxtaur, she was too scared to look up. He might be mad that she had brought it up.

"What?" Asked Emris softly trying to peer at Terrie's face. What was going on? Was this some sort of opening to saying, 'Hey ya know what I just can't stay here anymore.' or was she sincerely worried about the centaur?
"I don't get it..." Replied Emris crossing his arms and leaning back against a tree across from Terrie. "Are you worried that I might be upset with him for teasing me or something?" He paused and just looked at her steadily with unreadable eyes. What was she implying with this? Emris didn't understand that Terrie took the centaur seriously and had already forced such hopes to the corner of his mind. This scene really was baffling him though his emotions screamed otherwise.

"Teasing." Terrie shook her head dismally. "Why would he tease you about my feelings? I didn't think you'd be so upset with me for them. He shouldn't have told you how I felt, I didn't know if I was ready to say anything yet. But he did tell you, and then you got so-" She poured out, quickly shutting her mouth to prevent a long rant, nibbling on her lip almost painfully.
