A Caged Beast
(Amaya talks with Kim in the cafeteria and watches Zack and Sabin get carted away)

Kim Nguyet
--New Rp--

Kim had basically spent the day outside, in a bold contrast with the last few months she had basically spent in her duplex. After her metting with Bobby, she went to the beach to laze in the sun - that experience had been very surprisingly good, so much that she had felt asleep until about 15 minutes ago, where she realised she was hungry. After scooping the sand from her clothes, she headed to the cafeteria, and setteled for some shrimp, a few sushi rolls complete with sweet and sour sauce, a bit of white rice and a diet cola to start with, sitting on one of the tables to eat in sillence. After all, there was currently no one to talk to here.

She reminded herself to test her blood sugar when she came back - she really hated to do so in public. After all, she didn't know if anyone else would come in or not...

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya had surprisngly done almost the same that day. Basking in one of the trees while reading had started to become one of her favorite pastimes. Though after awhile, your stomach started to protest.

She made her way into the cafeteria, not really looking around to see if anyone else was there before making her way over to the food line. The green iguana had became even more wary of seeing others and despite certain urges to be with someone else due to her age, the animal DNA inside her was making her more and more solitary gradually.

Kim Nguyet
Kim didn't seem to really notice at first, lost in her own thoughts as the shrimp almost seemed to dance in the chopsticks she held, humming to herself softly to some tune that seemed to exist only in her head.

She caught a flash of something green from the corner of her eye, which made her turn and smile a bit.

"Hey, Amaya." She greeted, trying not to startle her as it seemed the iguana hadn't noticed her presence.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya blinked and turned to look at the other girl, offering her a smile as she made herself a salad. "Hey Kim." After grabbing her food and a bottled water, she wandered back over to her; tail swishing behind her from side to side.

"Mind if I join you?"

Kim Nguyet
"Sure, go ahead." She was verry happy to see her, it had been so long - and the last time she had made a.... less than spectacular exit.

But she prefered not to mention that, making some space so that Amaya could sit beside her, shoving DS and PSP to her pockets.

"How have you been ?"

Amaya Vaughan
The girl sat down next to her, setting down her things awkwardly with her large hands. She also had to spin the chair around and sit on it backwards due to her tail.

"I've been... alright, I guess. Considering. Yourself?" She grabbed her fork and positioned it in her fingers before mixing her salad around a little.

Kim Nguyet
She seemed to ponder for a moment, twiling the empty chopsticks in her fingers.

"...Very wierd. That'll about sum it, I figure." She shrugged, taking one of the shrimps and dipping it in the sauce. "With all the s**t that happened lately and all that..."

Amaya Vaughan
"Oh yeah..." Amaya had almost forgotten about the drama in the labs above them. "The whole Aubrey thing?" She frowned while taking a bite from her salad, only speaking once she swallowed.

"I've been trying to stay out of it... well, after taking the knife to the labs and stuff."

Kim Nguyet
"Same here... I've been literally walling myself in my duplex for some time, yet... There was some part of me that wanted to get out so BADLY. And well, I guess it was right, because im feeling much better now than I felt stuck in those 4 walls... If that made any sence."

She paused to take a sip from the bottle. "...I still havn't figured out what im turning into. Part of me wants to know, but... part of me seriously doesn't, you know ?"

...That sounded so stupid, she couldn't help but think. When she was worring about things so trivial while the girl beside her probably had to worry about much graver things.

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah... I didn't know until after my second change. When I grew a tail." The lizard's tail twitched a little, wiggling on the floor behind her. "Maybe after all this is blown over you should ask?"

Kim Nguyet
"I should, I know... if only just to get over it sooner than later, but... I've actually thought about it, but I can't bring myself to push the stupid button of the intercom, it's... kinda stupid, isn't it ?" She couldn't help but give a small giggle. "Im here worrying about those things while some have it much worse..."

Amaya Vaughan
"Not really. I don't remember using the intercom for anything, really... too scared to ask them for anything. Especially not now that Aubrey has been hurt. Who knows what they'll do." Amaya nibbled on her salad more.

"And you've got the right to worry... everybody does." She shrugged.

Kim Nguyet
"You're right." She smilled again, seemed a bit relieved. "And the last few days wouldn't have been a good idea, nope. Ill do my best and try to ask, but... Well, we'll see, ne ? I better take this slowly or else ill completely freak out again." The asian admitted, motionning to grap a california roll.

Amaya Vaughan
The teen nodded. "I hope whoever did it is caught soon though... that way we can go back to our lives without worrying too much about what Moreau might do to us."

Kim Nguyet
"Agreed. That's what I thought up... If I don't attempt to seriously mess with the staff, they won't mess with me... too hard, I guess." She admitted, tossing a bang of hair away from her shoulder. "I wonder who would so something like that... I mean, with an island like this, with no way out ? That's pretty much screwing yourself over, wouldn't that be ?"

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah, but from what I've heard a lot of the others were... I dunno. Feral I guess? When I ran into the jungle I came across Chubbs and Zach. He tried to eat me until Chubbs jumped in..." The reptile frowned.

Kim Nguyet
"He tried to what ?" She bluted out, her brown eyes sightly wide. What the HELL ? She knew some had issues, but... She couldn't help but feel rather lucky not to have met this Zack.

"Gee... That's horrible... Thank god Chubbs was there, uh ?" It did look like the man could fend off almost anything, after all.

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah, I booked it up a tree when he came crashing through and-" Amaya was cut off as she looked to the door, the sound of jeeps coming from outside. Looking at Kim, she hesitantly got up and walked over to the cafeteria doors.

Green eyes peeked out the windows just in time to watch the men tie up Zach. "Oh my god! It's Zach! They're taking him away or something!" Her voice was barely above a whisper and not much of her head poked up to the window... she didn't want to be seen.

And who was that guy with white hair?

Kim Nguyet
Kim seemed to freeze as she heard the jeep as well and, glancing back at Amaya, she followed and comically swung a bit to the side to look over the iguana's shoulder.

It was clear to her which one was Zack - the one on the floor knocked out and... chained ?! Holy s**t, he probably was completely dangerous...

"Holy s**t." She whispered right back, as if speaking any louder would get them discovered and somehow involved in all this. "Then maybe he did it... They even got him chained up... Who's the other guy ? It looks like they're taking him too..."

Amaya Vaughan
"I dunno, I've seen him before though... at the Halloween party." The iguana continued to whisper as she watched Sabin get hauled off as well, ducking down quickly when she thought a guard looked their way. "Holy crap... Zack must've done it!" Even though the jeeps were leaving, she felt the need to whisper still.

Kim Nguyet
"He must have..." Likewise, she continued to whisper. "Why the hell would they have him chained up like that otherwise ?"

This was all so... wierd and creepy. She couldn't help but follow the jeeps with her eyes as they rolled away.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya however, was still "hiding" behind the door. "That's true... man... I'm so glad Chubbs scared him off. I'll have to go thank him again and tell him what happened." She swallowed, still whispering as if on reflex. "... That's so freaky though." Standing, she looked back out the window next to Kim. "I mean, I've met him before and he didn't seem TOO bad... but then he must have changed again and went awol or something..."

Kim Nguyet
When the jeep was out of view, Kim seemed to finally relax a bit, and give out a sigh.

"Then maybe it isn't really his fault... one could argue that the staff made him this way." She said, softly, not quite whispering anymore, but still a bit quiet. "...I hope they don't like... kill him or something..."

After all... no one deserved to die.

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah... it's not his fault that he's like that." The girl seemed to still be rather on edge, her tail twitching about. She remembered how she thought the same of Chubbs, the very man who saved her.

"I hope they just... put him in solitary confinment for awhile or something. He might've attacked me and Aubrey and maybe even more people, but that doesn't mean he needs to die."

Kim Nguyet
"[No-one deserves to die, period." Kim sighed, shifting to go sit again, less she start pacing around in worry. "I really hope he'll be okay... expecially if it really wasn't his fault."

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah..." Amaya headbobbed in agreement before following her to sit back down a few moments later.

She really didn't know what to say... and now her salad didn't look as nearly as appetizing as it had just seconds previous. Worry about what would happen to Zach, the other man she saw, everyone would be effected eventually.

Kim Nguyet
Likewise, the lone, remaining shrimp in Kim's place didn't seem to look as tasty as they did a few minutes before. The asian's brow was creased with worry as she took the place and went to trash it.

"Man... I wish things where... simpler, some days." She sighed. She hadn't known the man, hadn't even HEARD of him by now, probably thanks to her antisocial bouts, yet... she couldn't stop herself from worrying.

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah, me too..." The lizard trailed off and looked over at the doors while forcing herself to at least eat half of her salad. "Sometimes I wonder if this'll ever just end, y'know?"

Kim Nguyet
"I hope it will, but... It doesn't seem likely that it ever will. I mean... things can only go downhill as people keep changing... I think." Kim usually did her best to keep a positive outlook but... it was so hard here, on this island, tapped, without her mother and the few friends she had back home...

...But she had new friends here, at least. Well, she liked to think so. With how withdrawn she had been, expecially the past few months...

"...But we got to do our best to make it better. Remember that we're not alone, that no matter what, we all got friends that can help us..." She sat next to Amaya again after having put away the empty tray. "...My mother always told me... that to make things better, you need to start by yourself..."

At those words, she felt her own heart sink even more. "...Mom..." She whispered, barely audible.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya watched and listened to Kim as she spoke, non-existant brows raising at the small whisper and then falling right afterward. She gave a saddened frown and looked down at her salad.

She was such an a**. Here she was being emo about relationship issues and the woman sitting next to her had been ripped from her family.

"... I'm sorry." The teen said quietly.

Kim Nguyet
"It.s okay, really." She did the best attempt at a smile that she could manage at the moment. "...Im over it... mostly... But I've been emotional lately." She gave a soft sigh. "I shouldn't dump all of this on you, im sorry."

Amaya Vaughan
"No, it's alright. Even though I can't really relate in that sense... I know what it's like to be ripped from your parents." Amaya smiled back at her and finished most of her salad, along with the water.

She wanted to stay and talk with Kim, but she could feel herself start to slip into a more mellow and laid back, sleepy mood. Not a good sign... damn air conditioning. Did Kim feel it too? Last she remembered she was turning into something cold-blooded as well.

Kim Nguyet
"Uh ?" She blinked, then seemed to get it, and started laughing. "Oh, you mean the AC ? I completely forgot about it since I turned mine off all this time ago." And she hadn't really thought the one in the cafeteria could affect her, since it was a decently sized room. "Yeah, I guess that would be a good idea, ne ?"

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya nodded. "Ever since I changed for the first time they made my room really humid and hot... though I can't say I'm complaining since that's the ideal tempature for me."

"Anyway, I'll see ya later Kim." With a smile and another headbob, she headed out of the cafeteria.

Talking with Jamal

Amaya Vaughan
New RP

Like any other day, Amaya had set out after a nice lunch to catch the wonderful afternoon rays. She carried a book in one hand and her CD player on top of it, listening to it as she walked through the small dirt paths that had been carved out through the jungle.

Now all she needed to find was a nice, sturdy tree...

Jamal_Reedy
She probably wouldn't go far before a distinct musical hum began to drift through the plantlife. It wasn't melodious....it had a distinct beat to it and seemed to be very choppy that was punctuated with an almost rap-like chorus. By listening harder, a soft 'thump' noise could also be heard.

If she was curious enough to follow the sound, she'd come upon Jamal sitting against a tree, pattering a beat against the fabric of his jeans, eyes closed as he seemed to be off in his own world. His headphones looked rather beat up; the wires to the earpieces had been wrapped and rewrapped in numerous places with what looked to be eletrical tape. At his hip sat an equally beat up CD player.

Amaya Vaughan
Indeed, the green iguana was curious albeit wary ever since she had been attacked by Zach. Slowly she pushed off her own headphones and turned off her CD player.

As she got closer, she could see the man's back. Jamal? Wow... she haden't seen him since the lockout.

Amaya bit her lip and looked down at her scale covered hands. She had... changed a lot. Part of her told just said to walk away. Leave him alone. The other half pressured her to walk up to him and ask how he was doing.

She was torn.

Jamal_Reedy
Since she was in a position to see his back, he certainly couldn't see her. However, the noise and her smell were caught by his sharpened senses and he paused his humming. Ice blue eyes unlidded into a predatory glare that had grown so instinctual for him that it was a wonder that the look softened into something more curious than hunteresque.

"Someone there?" he grunted a little roughly, pulling the headphones delicately from his sensitive ears as he turned to peer over each shoulder in turn.

Even with his improved eyesight, he couldn't see her yet. Green on green would do that.

Amaya Vaughan
The girl tensed as he called out, fidgetting with her claws before giving a headbob whether he could see it or not. "Yeah..." She stepped through the foliage near him, green eyes looking down at him.

"Hi... Jamal..." A small, forced smile played her scaley face and the only two things that could probably indicate they had met before were her eyes, locket, and scent that had become much more... reptilian.

Jamal_Reedy
Jamal's brow furrowed as the reptilian female came into view, but it wasn't from disgust. It was the look one gives when they see something vaguely familiar and are trying to place it. The man was never good with recognizing people unless they had truely done something to warrant him keeping a clear picture of them in his mind.

"Amaya?" he ventured hesitantly, the name springing to his tongue before he could muse it over. Daaaaamn had she gotten scaley... "So I see you made it a'ight afta' dat whole lockout thing."

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah, by a hair..." Amaya snorted and rubbed her scaley head. "Guess you did too then, eh?" She took a seat a couple feet away from him.

Jamal_Reedy
"Yeah. I wasn't gonna let 'em win," he said with a smirk, leaning back against the tree and clumsily turning his CD player off by opening the door (the stop button was broken). "Funny how all them staff peeps act like it wasn't no big deal. It ain't like we don't know it was an experiment anymo'."

Jamal gave her a casual look over and flicked his whiskers in unison. "Seems like this place ain't short on drama...eva'. I was thinkin' maybe things were calmin' down a lil'. Of course not, though. Neva'." He looked vaguely amused at that thought.

Amaya Vaughan
The lizard nodded and hugged her legs to her chest, her long tail curling around her as best it could as she sat.

"I know. I was just starting to get used to... y'know." She gestured to herself with a grimace. "And now this happens... think Moreau'll put us all in cages up in the labs?"

Jamal_Reedy
Jamal shrugged his shoulders lazily, waving a hand carelessly in a non-descript direction...probably toward the labs.

"Maybe...though I figger they got ways ta figure out who did what. Like dat stuff they do on CSI o' Law 'n' Order. Fo'got what it's called. Hell, if they can do this..." He waved the same hand towards himself, indicating his non-human qualities to emphasize his point before continuing with "I figger they kin figure out who did what. Truth is dat I ain't heard much of what was went on. I jus' know Aubrey got gnawed on 'n' it wasn't ma teeth dat did it." Dark humor was clear in the statement; he had wished it was him...but at least someone tried to pick up where he left off.

As an afterthought, he arched a brow and grinned. "Da cages ain't dat bad though...jus' so ya know."

Amaya Vaughan
"I know... make me wonder why Moreau had made that announcement in the first place. The cameras should have seen it all, right? Unless the power-outage was when it happened... or they're lying about them." Amaya plucked a blade of grass idly, something occuring to her.

"... What if Aubrey isn't even hurt? And they're just lying again?" She frowned, but blinked at the cage comment. The teen didn't inquire though, figuring that something must have happened involving a cage and Jamal.

Jamal_Reedy
"It's possible they're lying. Wouldn't surprise me none...but I took Kaveri to where Aubrey was attacked, or so we guessed. Her blood -was- there 'n' skin 'n' stuff. Could be jus' another trick though. I hadn't thought 'bout 'em makin' a fake attack."

The girl had brought up a good point...had anyone actually SEEN Aubrey get attacked? Kaveri said she had seen the body, but that could have been faked too.

"I was in da jungle b'fo she got cut up so I ain't got no idea what mighta really happened. I heard howls while I was out, which was weird, but otha then that..." He spread his hands in front of him in a helpless gesture.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya frowned as she listened to him. "Theres a 50/50 chance. I mean, they faked those two charred bodies I found in the helicopter during the lockout. They could have easily faked Aubrey getting hurt to just mess with us."

Jamal_Reedy
Jamal made a low "hmmm" noise before shrugging again. "It's hard ta tell. I ain't talked to hardly anyone in nearly a week so what I know ain't much. If it was a joke, I know it ain't gonna go ova' well. I'm tired of bein' lied to....'n' they wonda' why I hate da staff." He snorted and shook his head in disbelief.

"All I know is they betta not haul me in 'n' say I did it 'cause I didn't. Truth is I wish it was me 'n' I wouldn't hide it if it was me...but someone beat me to it."

Amaya Vaughan
The reptile listened to him talk, only adding her own words to the conversation once he was finished. She didn't seem very phased at the thought of Jamal killing the staff, though it was impossible wasn't it? The guy was understandably angry. Who wouldn't be?

"Y'know... I think it was Zach. You know him?" She finally asked, looking over at Jamal.

Jamal_Reedy
Jamal snorted, falling into heavy laughter at the suggestion. "ZACH?" he asked, completely beside himself at the thought. "Dat guy ain't got a harmless bone in his body! I couldn't see 'im doin' it any mo' then I could see YOU doin' it!"

The tiger man hadn't seen Zach recently, so had no idea what sort of shape the man was in now.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya was rather surprised at his laughter, but didn't say anything until he stopped. "He must be going through a rough change then. Just before the announcement he tried to eat me." She shuddered.

Jamal_Reedy
"Oh really?" Jamal said, still grinning, fangs protruding over his bottom lip in a comical fashion. "Damn, he musta -really- got ******** up from whateva' it is he's changin' inta." He reached back to scratch his head, musing over Amaya's comment. "I guess he coulda....maybe. I jus' have a hard time picturin' him doin' anythin' like dat to anyone."

Nevermind Jamal has tried to eat at least three people...he considered himself different from most of the islanders. Zach was one of the least violent people Jamal has ever met. Why in the hell would he try to eat someone?

Amaya Vaughan
"I honestly have no idea what he's turning into... I think he grew his arm back. But I could have been imagining it. He has weird red fins on his head too." The iguana said, trying to think of how to describe his latest change.

Jamal_Reedy
Jamal made a face, but this time it was more suspicious disbelief than incredulous disbelief. "How da hell kin he jus' grow a whole arm in one go?...s**t, I ain't even seen one person get a whole tail in one transfo'mation, let alone an arm..." The explaination of fins threw him off also. Last he knew, Zach was looking lizardy, not fishy.

"Dis is crazy s**t, man. Da island get weirder 'n' weirder ev'ry day."

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah, I know... wish it would just stay normal. Or at least as normal as it can get." Amaya rubbed the back of her neck before letting out a sigh and standing.

"Anyway, I better go bask somewhere... I'll see ya later." She waved one of her large hands and smiled to the tigerman before turning and heading off through the brush.

Jamal_Reedy
"I ain't sure what's normal any'mo..." he muttered as she stood, glancing up at her with a somewhat subdued frown. "Have fun, if...it's possible ta have fun doin' what'eva ya gonna do."

As she sauntered away, he picked up his headphones again and once more began a one-man rap/band session.

Sleepover with... Alec?

Alec Derring
Alec sat down on the stool behind his drum kit, wiggling his rear until he was comfortable as he flexed his knuckles in a warm up. The boombox was playing in the background though the volume was low, some unidentifiable punk band CD spinning inside. Twirling his drumsticks, he thought up a song to 'cover' before promptly breaking out into a rather noisy rendition.

He slumped over and became enthrawled, bouncing his leg to the makeshift rhythm though the bark around his knees only served to hinder the movements.

Amaya Vaughan
Slowly Amaya made her way up to Alec's door. She was also about to knock when the sound of drums playing... loudly came from beyond. She winced and let her hand drop as she listened for a moment. Maybe this was a bad time...

... Come to think of it. Why was she about to knock on her friend's door? She didn't have much to tell him... or talk about... she had just come here in sheer impulse.

Hestitating, the green iguana knocked anyway.

Alec Derring
Alec continued to play on as if the hesitant knock had been lost in the noise he was creating from his instruments. It went on for about another minute before in abruptly stopped, the clear sound of footsteps being heard approaching the door.

"Aye!" Alec smiled as he swung open the door only to find the scaley girl standing outside. "Stoppin' in?" He opened the door more to insinuate that she could come inside. He wasn't doing anything important anyways.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya was just about to turn and leave when the door swung open. Blinking, she turned back. "Oh! Uh... yeah, I guess." She scratched the back of her neck nervously.

"Am I interupting something?" She asked, green eyes crawling up his form to meet his own silver ones.

Alec Derring
Alec tried his best not to laugh. "Fook no, 'am joost screwin 'round." He chuckled and left the door wide open as he went back inside, pulling his drum stool out from behind the kit to sit on.

"So wha' ye been up teh?" The irish teen wheeled over to grab a pop from the mini fridge and gestured to offer her one. She'd be lucky to find a chair that wasn't covered in discarded clothes.

Amaya Vaughan
The girl smiled and came in, closing the door behind her. "Thanks." She gave a headbob while carefully curling a few of her long fingers around the soda can before shifting it more in both her hands.

"Nothing, really... well... no. Guess that's a lie." Amaya bit her bottom lip a little while popping open her soda with incredible ease. "I uh... never told you that Zach attacked me, did I?" She forced a tiny smile before sitting down backwards on a chair, flicking the pair of shorts off of it with her hand.

Alec Derring
Alec immediately frowned, loosing all amusement that he had had a moment ago. "Zach. Is tha' tha' fookin red guy? The one tha' go' tak'n away? Is tha' why 'e was taken away?" The teen was started to slowly see the dirtier side of the island as he met newer people that were either maladjusted to their changes or downright ill-temptered. "Are ye a' least ekay?" She LOOKED ok.

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine." The lizard smile and waved off his concern. "And... I think he was taken away because he's the one that hurt Aubrey. I can't be sure though... just... wanted to warn you is all."

She took a sip of her soda. "Some of the islanders don't... adjust well. I know it's kind of late for me to be telling you this. But I figured it's better now then never, right?" Amaya shifted her can in her hands, her tail giving a nervous twitch. "Didn't want you to run into someone that might hurt you. Or something."

Alec Derring
Alec winced, remembering the more plausible reason for Zach's apprehension. That was some dangerous guy. "Ye, a' go' th'idea afteh a' met pehple like Jamal. Man... a' mean e' was nice bu' scareh." The punk couldn't help but laugh at his summation of their encounter on the beach, definetly finding it easier to gather amusement from it now that it was over.

The thought struck him suddenly as he closed his lips over his teeth, suddenly aware of the sharp protrusions. He remembered his meeting with Emelyn and how she had recoiled. He had said it had been alright but it was something that stuck with the somewhat innocent and naive youngster. "Eh... 'Maya? D'ye think a'll be bad like tha'? Soom day?" He needed another opinion. Surely it must depend on the person more than the animal they were being transformed into.

Amaya Vaughan
Jamal? He seemed alright to her... though she had heard that he was rather... violent at times. The teen was about to take another drink when the question reached her non-existant ears. She paused and let the can retreat from her scaley lips.

"I... don't think so." Amaya forced a smile and looked up at him. "I mean. Jamal was rather angry to begin with and... Chubbs is turning into three really violent animals yet he's still himself. Just gets angry a little easier... and... I know he'd never hurt me." She tried to sound convincing, but wasn't sure if she really did.

Who was she trying to convince? Alec? Or herself?

At least... that's what I hope... The reptile thought to herself.

Alec Derring
Alec waited as he heard the response, exactly what he had hoped for. So maybe Emelyn was a little paranoid from living out in the wilderness so long? "Oh..." He paused as it registered in his mind, finally telling himself that a subject's attitude was indeed directly influenced by the person's actual nature rather than instinct. "Ekay!" He smiled, looking completely convinced. You could convince him Ghandi was running for president, the poor kid.

"'Ou's Chubbs? A' neveh met 'im." The teen sipped on his own drink for a minute, spinning back and forth in his chair.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya blinked and raised a brow. Wow. He was easy to convince... she just wished she was that carefree in believing what she said. But there was no need to scare the punk. The happier he was about the whole thing, the better.

"Chubbs is a friend of mine. I think I was the one who told him about the island... He's a big guy. Look like he's turning into a bear but is actually turning into that and a wolverine and a... tasmanian devil, I think?" She tried to recall their conversation that happened so long ago in the cafeteria.

Alec Derring
Alec continued to swivel back and forth on his stool, sometimes kicking off the floor to spin an entire circle like it was actually entertaining him or something. "D' they do i' on pehpose? Make pehple 'ave angreh animals t'make them angreh?" He couldn't figure out any other explaination for combining three ill-tempered animals together and administering them on a subject. Why would they want to have their hands full?

Amaya Vaughan
"I'm... not really sure. That seems like the case though, doesn't it?" The iguana tapped the side of her soda can with a claw, causing a metalic "clink" to echo from the inside. "I think they enjoy toying with our minds. Hell knows they seem to pull enough sick jokes on us."

Amaya frowned, not even realizing how much she was confiding in the boy sitting across from her. "You've probably heard about the lockout. If not from me then from someone else..." Her frown deepened. "Y'know, I was sleeping soundly in my bed and the next thing I wake up to is a crashed helicopter next to me with two charred bodies inside?" Piercing green eyes glared at the floor. "I didn't know that they were fake until it was all revealed to be just some sick experiment..."

Her expression turned more sad and somber. "It scared the s**t out of me..."

Alec Derring
The punk teen wrinkled his nose as much as he could, the look of disgust still acheived as a result. "Ewwwwww." Was his initial reaction, ceasing his spinning as he became enthrawled in the story. "Weh they all gutsy an' shite?" The irish kid was no doubt a teenage boy from how he was taking the news in morbid fascination. He was amazed they had bothered to go as far as plant fake dead people to confuse the islanders. The question was no doubt retorical, definite by his moving along with the subject. "Thas twisted 'n all fronts." Oblivious to Amaya's look of upset, he starting to wish he'd been there for that one, forgetting the bad things he'd heard about it.

Amaya Vaughan
"Christ, no." The girl's eyes widdened as she looked over at Alec. "If they were I woulda gone insane." Seeing her parents twisted around the metal of the insides of their car was ENOUGH in a lifetime, kthx.

She took another long gulp of the soda. "Tell me about it..." Amaya sighed. "I almost froze to death during it too. It started raining and since I'm cold-blooded y'know, I didn't make it back to camp in time. Thankfully Chubbs and two others found me and carried me back."

Alec Derring
"'E's a goo' mate then." Alec nodded, already deciding this guy was alright without ever meeting him. Sure, he was bound to have his fits but it was probably not that bad.

"'Ou betteh intro me t'soom more o' ye frien's!" He decided quite abruptly, looking rather warm n' fuzzy at the moment. "A' bet on me own a' 'aven't met 'alf th' pehple 'n this place." He chuckled again but knew it was probably true.

Amaya Vaughan
"I will, don't worry. I'll have to draw you to his duplex sometime. You'll have to remind me." The lizard smiled and drank the rest of her soda. "And to be honest, I'm still running into people that I don't know sometimes... though unfortunatly, they're normally new and get freaked out."

She paused, realizing she had just grouped Alec in that section of people. "Sorry that I'm dumping this on you. I juat have a bad habit of letting it all spill out, y'know?" Another forced smile.

Alec Derring
It was Alec's turn to wave it off, finishing his can of pop and tossing it over his shoulder to miss the waste basket. "Iss'ekay. I's betteh fo' ye t'talk 'bout i', righ'?" Unfortunately he wasn't really one to openly admit his fears and concerns, when he did they were mostly obscured by pointless questions.

Amaya Vaughan
"I suppose." Amaya wiggled her can before tilting her head back to get the little bit that might have been left. Once she had done that, she looked at the soda can and flickered her large, pink tongue. Soda didn't seem to satisfy her as much as it used to...

"So what about you?" She met his eyes again. "Anything you wanna talk about?" Placing the can between her palms she pressed them together. With a resounding CRUNCH the can was squished flat and then held between her fingers.

Alec Derring
He blankly stared at the crushed can for a moment before shaking his head in amusement. "Neh... no' th' talkin type." He was such a horrible liar.

"Ye know wha' DOES botheh me though." He pointed to Amaya as if he had to reassure that she was giving him her complete attention. "Evrehone a' meet... Heh." He stopped short and smirked to himself before continuing. "C'nt fo' th' life o' them tell me wha' 'am turnin in'teh. Bu' evreh'one sees me teeth n' thinks amma kill 'em." This obviously bothered him although he'd spoken about it before with Amaya. "An' a d'n wanna ask, yanno. Evrehtime a' 'ere abou' th' staff, is how bda theh are! Fook them." He snorted once and let his voice die. He really didn't want to talk about this. Why did he have to bring it up?

Amaya Vaughan
Not the talking type, eh? The other teen couldn't help but smirk, giving him her undivided attention while she absently twirled the crushed can between her fingers like a dime or a quarter slowly.

"Well, normally it's hard to tell just after the first change." She admitted honestly. "But I still think your turning into a shark... as for the patches... I dunno." Amaya looked at them for a moment before moving on. "And the other islanders are probably just wary. Normally when someone grows teeth, an attitude comes with it. Don't mind them though." She frowned, looking a little angry. "They shouldn't be one to judge you. If they do, they're just being hypocrites"

The reptile rolled her eyes at the sheer thought of it. "And I know about the whole staff thing... I try not to get in their way or contact them. Kind of allows me to slip off their radar."

Ugh, she was talking too much. Something in the back of her mind seemed to slap her and tell her to shut up. Be quiet. But for now, she seemed to be trying her best to ignore it. People had been saying how quiet she was getting... that wasn't her. Amaya used to talk all the time. And be damned if some animal DNA would stop her from doing that.

Alec Derring
Alec nodded, once again accepting her explainations and bouts of reassurance for face value. Somehow that was enough by itself to satiate him. "Ye, yo righ'. Always righ'." He chuffed a laugh, stretching out his back while still remaining poised on the stool.

Glancing out the window, the punk teen suddenly realized how late it must've been. He must've been talking too much, asking Amaya to walk herself home wouldn't be right. And like hell was he going to walk here there and then back alone! Pfft. "'Ey, y'wanna sleep oveh?" He asked out of the blue with a grin, thinking it nothing to offer a friend a place to crash. She was just a friend anyways.

Amaya Vaughan
The green iguana laughed a little. Always right her a**. She was about to retort when she was stopped by the offer. Unfortunatly for her, she took it a little more seriously then him. Though not overly so... she wasn't stupid. And she wasn't self-confident enough to think it be anything more then that. Just friends.

Her heart had jumped into the throat, fluttered there for a few moments, and then dropped right into her stomach as all her thoughts came at once. There was no way Alec could like her more then that. Who could?

"Yeah, sure." Amaya couldn't hide the odd, displaced look on her face as she looked out the window as well. "Guess I talk too much, eh?" The look then vanished as quick as it had come, replaced by her normal smile. "It's not good for me to walk after dusk anyway... gets too cold out."

"You really don't mind?" She raised a non-exhistant brow.

Alec Derring
"No' wi' crazehs wandeh'n abou'." He added, chuffing a laugh as he got up from his seat. "Neh, s'cool." The punk teen wandered over to a reasonably-sized area in the room and started picking up the scattered clothes that strewn it's place. He didn't even consider offering his bed. Nope, she got the comfy floor. "All ge' soom blankets." And with that Alec wandered off to collect some, and maybe a spare pillow.

Amaya Vaughan
"Thanks." The girl didn't even think about being offered the bed. It was his room, afterall... and she had slept on worse.

After getting her place next to his bed sitiuated, she laid down on her stomach, her form curling oddly in it's somewhat in-between stage of human and beast.

They chatted a little before eventually, both of them fell asleep.

The Morning After

Alec Derring
Alec awoke later that morning, arm awkwardly slung over his face to hide his eyes from the bright sunlight that was now streaming through his open window. Birds were chirping, giving the feeling that the island was alive and bustling independantly from the still and quiet duplex.

The teen sat up in his bed, irritatedly rubbing at his eyes, then his flattened nose before slipping his legs over the edge. The rough skin around his knees, elbows and neck were stiff and drying out, becoming unpliable. Not wanting to wake up Amaya, he made his way into the bathroom to shower as quietly as the uncouth punkster could manage.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya was still sleeping rather soundly when Alec woke up. If he were to look at her too long, then he might have noticed that her scales looked a little... pale.

Like every duplex, his was sported with an airconditioner that greatly differed from the hot tempature outside. However, it was normally kept a lot colder then what the green iguana needed to stay active and warm.

Thankfully though, Alec really sucked at being quiet. Amaya could hear the cans and clothing being pushed out of the way or stepped over as he made his way to the bathroom and she opened her eyes. She still looked amazingly tired, and didn't say anything at the moment, but she watched him with half-lided eyes.

Ugh... it was cold... so tired...

Alec Derring
Alec wasn't in the bathroom long, having been in there for only the short amount of time that was needed to wet himself. Ugh. Showering. Who did that?

Thankfully he had enough decency to snatch a pair of shorts before retreating to the bathroom so that he wouldn't have to don a towel on the way out. Barely noticing that Amaya was indeed awake, he came back out to rummage through his piles of clothing for something to wear, however mismatched it would turn out to be. "Uh hey, ye awake." He waved to the Amaya once he noticed she was awake, not realizing just how bad she looked. "Need a showeh o' somethin?"

Amaya Vaughan
The girl watched him, though said nothing until she was noticed. Slowly, very slowly, she shook her head. "No... I... think I need to... get out into the sun." Blinking, she gradually pushed herself onto her elbow and closed her eyes for a moment before she slowly turned herself into a sitting postion.

Her tail dragged limply behind all her motions, as she seemed to be working in slow-mo.

Alec Derring
He went back to what he was doing, merely nodding to her response as he searched for the left blue sock that was evading him entirely. "A-HA!" He loudly triumphed when he found it laying at the opposite side of the room by the door.

As he worked to put it on, he noticed the lizard girl's sluggish movements and pale complexion. In short, she looked half-comatose. "Wuh was tha'?" He hadn't even been paying attention. "Sun? ... uh... ekay." He didn't want to fuss in case it would upset her but she looked very sick for some reason, so he moved quickly over to the door and got his boots on in hopes she'd be motivated enough to follow.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya was too tired to really say much more to him. She stayed in her sitting position for a few more moments before finally using the edge of the bed to help herself up.

Looking very much like an elderly woman, or someone who had just got out of a hospital bed, she made her way over towards the door where Alec was waiting.

Alec Derring
To Alec, this behavior was very unusual to him and he couldn't quite grasp what was happening at all. She'd been fine when they both went to sleep, maybe she was hungover or having morning sickness or something? He was starting to wonder if he should've given her the bed instead last night...

"Aye, ye ekay?" He mumbled as he let her go out first, thinking the entire time that sunlight wouldn't exactly be good for either of the ailments he was thinking of.

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah, yeah... I'm fine..." The lizard tried to wave off his worry, her tail dragging behind her until she was outside. There she picked a spot that sunlight had already warmed and sat down.

Almost instantly she could feel the sun warming her scales, seeping into her skin and warming her body awake. "Sorry... I forgot about the air conditioning in most rooms." Amaya frowned, green eyes looking over at Alec. Already her scales seemed to be slowly turning greener and more healthy looking.

Alec Derring
Alec shrugged it off, as he still didn't understand what she was getting at. Not bothering to ask, the punk teen slumped down onto a patch of grass and pulled out a cigarette. He left the door to his duplex wide open so that the morning air could waft in, quickly replacing the lighter into his short pockets. The sun was nice on his bare skin, small trickles of water still running off his wet and unruley hair to land on the grey discoloured skin of his neck.

Taking a deep breath in, he decided to break the silence and ruin the serenity that was a quiet morning on the Island. "So wha' ye g'na do t'day?" Maybe it'd give him an idea of what to do himself.

Amaya Vaughan
"Good question." The teen said quietly as she looked around. "I'm thinking about taking a swim when it's a little warmer out. Don't need to end up froze to death moreso then I was a minute ago." She smirked, her eyes loosing their fatigue to be replaced with energy.

"I think I heard a pinball machine when I went to eat the other day... maybe they put in some more games in the entertainment room or something. Guess it won't hurt to check that out too." Amaya rested her chin on her large palm.

"What about you?" She looked over at Alec again.

Alec Derring
"Aaaaa' d'neh." The irishboy sighed and leaned back until he was resting against the outer wall of his duplex. His stomach was starting to growl, a large breakfast was in order. "Some'un shou' kick soom ball on th'beach o' somethin, s'gettin borin 'round this place wi' neh more staffs gettin attack'd." He laughed at his own joke, finding it all too amusing seeing as he was barely involved in the whole ordeal. It wasn't his fault he was a mischevious teen looking for trouble, by nature.

Amaya Vaughan
She snorted. "Y'mean soccer or something?" The reptile asked, not familiar with the other term used. "That'd be fun, I think... I dunno if they have any balls around though. We could check in the rec room... after breakfast, of course." She smirked and then looked down at her feet.

Her long, almost finger-like toes dug into the ground slightly then curled up. "Think I'd still be able to play? With my feet 'n all..." It actually seemed like one of the few sports she was still capable of doing.

Alec Derring
Alec gave a deep frown, looking to the reptile girl suddenly. "'course ye c'n play. We'll all joost... run sloweh. Or somethin." He huffed in response to her unsureness. If she let herself believe she couldn't do anything then he could imagine her sitting inside all day for the rest of her life. Like... Nita did or something. "Lizehds roon fast." The blatant fact wasn't even based on personal knowledge.

"Ye, maybeh we c'n gatheh soom playehs up." The teen continued on, as he picked at the laces of his boots and swatted a fly away from his bare back. It was more of a wish than something he'd actually do himself.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya couldn't help but smile, though she wasn't exactly sure she could place why.

"We can probably convince Ambrose to play. Colche too, if we teach her how." Her tail gave a twitch and curled as best it could around her. "I guess we can do that today, if your up for it." The iguana looked over at him. "Look for a ball and if we can find one, look for a team?"

Alec Derring
Alec nodded slowly, taking in what she was saying. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to try and organize a game. If he was bored, he bet a lot of other people were bored too. "Aye!" He suddenly snapped his fingers, pointing to Amaya as his eyes went wide. "A' met a guy, 'e likes playin football." Though he couldn't remember his name for the life of him, he remembered that he was living in the duplex nearby.

As he thought about this his stomach growled again and this time he couldn't deny himself the urge to go eat. "Amma 'ead teh th'caf though. 'Am starvin!"

Amaya Vaughan
"Okay, I'll catch ya later. And lemme know if you can get a game started... I think I better stay here and bask for a little longer." Amaya gave a smile and a nod in his direction. "I'll see ya."

Alec Derring
Alec nodded again, getting up from the floor. "Ye, sure." He waved shortly and left in the direction of the caf, not thinking twice about trusting Amaya to at least shut his door after she left.

Bumping into a Killer

Amaya Vaughan
New RP

Like Amaya had stated to Alec, she had grabbed some food after basking a little longer before finally making her way about the village to find where the pinball machines were located. What she had seen inside brought joy to her features.

Thank GOD there was now something to do on this damn rock.

Time flew by as she occupied herself with the pinball machine, for once unhindered by her large hands. Every now and again the green iguana's tail would twitch as she swung her hips to the side as if it would magically help the small silver ball go in that direction.

Zachary Bloodstone
It was at the very same room that Zach stopped on his way from nowhere to nowhere. Something about technology was making him gradually more uneasy. Was it that technology was the source of his current situation? Perhaps it was the whole issue of being zapped so many times already. If things kept up at this rate then there would be a hole burned straight through his neck. He figured some sort of break from thinking about it would ease his mind a little. Maybe a board game. One thing was for sure, he'd never touch Clue again.

By the time he'd already taken ten steps into the room he spotted a green figure taking up residence by a pinball machine. His mind automatically pegged her as Cassidy, but five seconds later it decided to double-check. Nope, not Cassidy. That was Amaya - and she'd been one of the people who'd been unfortunate enough to encounter him after a change.

He stood frozen for a moment. The situation was unbelievably awkward. What were you supposed to say to someone who'd been driven to climbing up a tree and screaming? Not much. Wavering a little, he inched closer to the board games for a better look and cleared his throat. If she wanted to run screaming a second time, he wasn't about to stop her.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya was rather absorbed in her game, but wasn't deaf. At the sound she flinched, her tail giving a quick lash behind her while her large, pink tongue flickered outward. Slowly, she looked towards who made the sound.

... WHAT?!

Eyes going wide and before she could rationally think about what she was going, she had already scrambled ontop of the "safe" pinball machine and stared at him, horrified.

Zachary Bloodstone
Zach put a couple of clawed fingers on the Monopoly box. Good old capitalism. Kaveri probably wasn't too keen on that game though. He was about to slide his gaze from one box to another when he heard a scratchy creaking sound from behind him.

When he turned to look Amaya was no longer on the ground but on the pinball machine itself. His tail was hanging quite loosely, but gave a small flick of its own as he took things in. He opened his mouth to start saying something, but stopped, reconsidering his words. He made a loose waving gesture at her, his voice dull with embarassment. "Um... hi..."

Amaya Vaughan
The girl just stared at him, frightened for what seemed like the longest time. Eventually, the animal that shared her DNA crawled back into the recesses of her mind and she realized that she was perched on the pinball machine. But that still didn't make her move.

"H-Hi..." Half her face hid behind the back of the machine.

Zachary Bloodstone
After glancing between his toes and the horrorstruck iguana-girl a total of seven times, he took a tentative step forward. She hadn't bolted for the door like he'd expected, but there was hardly anything positive about having a pinball machine between them.

He crossed his arms loosely over his chest, once more breaking eye contact. "Hey uh.... I'm sorry about the whole thing that happened in the jungle. It's... not going to happen again. Really."

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya flinched as he stepped foreward, though still didn't bolt. "R-really...?"

He seemed a lot more... level-headed then the previous times she had run into him. This beat being pointed out on how green she was... or being attacked, for sure.

Zachary Bloodstone
He nodded. His eyes made a sweep of the room, though no camera lenses winked back at him from their hiding spots. Now there was a threat. Constant surveillance for everyone. "D'you want to get down from there? It looks kind of uncomfortable."

Her actions made him frown. Even without a left arm, just a lone person in the wide world, he'd never brought out genuine fear in people. Disgust, yes, and pity, but never fear. All the times he'd almost killed people had been in a haze of madness that Dr. Duvert's serum had twice brought out in him. They feared him, and at the same time he feared himself. Well, fear could be dispelled with knowledge.

"Apparently they made a mistake with my serum and a few other peoples'," he explained darkly. "Things get a little out of control after I change... I didn't mean to.. attack you. I'm really sorry." His tail curled a little. "You seem to be surviving this insane asylum though."

Amaya Vaughan
The lizard's tongue flickered before she slowly climbed back down from the pinball machine. A mistake?

She watched him for another moment before nodding. "It's... alright. I know of a few other people who have their... bouts."

She shifted out from behind the large game. "I've been... dealing."

Zachary Bloodstone
"Who else?" he asked curiously. "I only heard it was happening, but I'm the only example I know of. Well... Kaveri's been doing some weird stuff too. I guess she can't help it."

"Dealing?" He let his arms fall back to his sides. "No one else has gone after you, I hope..."

Amaya Vaughan
"Chubbs does sometimes." Amaya said meekly. "And no, no one else has gone after me..." She trailed off for a moment.

"S'just... y'know. The whole turning into a bald, genderless looking lizard I guess." Her scaley shoulders gave a small shrug.

Zachary Bloodstone
"That does sound rough," he said sympathetically. "But it has to be better than becoming one of a few choice animals I've heard about..."

Zach blinked for a moment. Turning into a bald lizard? Zach had not given enough thought to precisely where Amaya or Cassidy's hair had gone, considering it was unlikely they'd come to the island bald. He had once, but that had been before he knew what he was turning into. There was no doubt that he was a reptile at this point, or at least, half a reptile. So there was even more than just the inconvenience of not being classified homo sapiens.

Like the other two reptilian islanders before him, he was going to go prematurely bald.

In one unconscious movement he clutched at his own hair. His eyes were wide with suspicion and fear. "Now... when you say bald..."

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah. I admit it's not the worst that could happen..." The teen looked at her feet, then back up at Zach as he felt his hair.

"Uh... yeah... as far as I know, everyone turning into a reptile has become bald. Even Cassidy, though she still has a little hair left. See's like when you change for the third time, it starts to fall out..." She trailed off again, her expression turning sad. She had never, in all of her life, even began to think she would go bald before she turned 17.

Zachary Bloodstone
After doing an unnecessary count on two fingers, he felt a cold knot of dread. His third time was the next one, whenever it was going to be. Each change seemed to happen in twice the time after the last, if his counting was right. The farther away it was, the better... being bald was merely going to be mentally scribbled onto a long list of reasons why his island experience sucked. Under his breath, Zach hissed a short obscenity, unwinding his clawed fingers from his hair.

"Well, uh, I commend you on having handled that without having beaten one of these doctors senseless. Unless you did - in which case... er..." He trailed off, giving another flickering glance to the room. Loudly approving of violence was not going to help him continue to avoid a cruel and inhuman death at the hands of the doctors. "Nevermind. Uh... so..." He clapped his unevenly-sized hands together, trying to change the subject. The less the baldness issue was talked about, the better for the both of them. "You've been here longer than I have. What do you... do? About... the boredom, and the monotony."

Amaya Vaughan
"Well, it happened during the lockout. So at the time I didn't really have any within reach. Plus, I'd rather run from them then stand up and fight." Amaya walked back around to stand in front of the pinball machine again, looking a little more relaxed.

"Not... much." Her frown remained. "I just went on walks and stuff for awhile, talked to a lot of people. Ever since my last..." The reptile broke off one word. "-i've just been keeping to myself a lot. Reading and doing what I can to stay sane. Not much I can do now that they've provided." She held up her hands for a moment before turning back to the pinball machine.

Zachary Bloodstone
He gave her an unreadable look, a conflicting expression on the border between approval and disproval that was made more confusing by the slitted yellow eyes. It was soon replaced by a more sympathetic look, regarding the lockout. He knew there was nothing that could be said or done to undo what the lab had done. He tentatively offered his concern. "Oh, wow.. I'm sorry."

As she moved he did as well, blindly pulling a board game off the shelf. He studied the box and quickly replaced it. This was not a good time for Operation.

"I guess it's not smart to look for something to do around here, since every time something does happen it always screws all of us over..." He walked along the row of board games, not really giving the various titles a lot of thought. His mind was elsewhere. "I really hope one of these days someone can... well... escape. Get help. Anything, to stop what's happening here."

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya just shrugged at the appology. There was nothing that could be done to take that back and it was in the past now.

"Yeah. When you start to get comfortable into a routine, something happens to knock it for a loop. It's good to just live by the day. Act on impulse." She drew back the spring to the pinball machine and let the tiny silver ball go flying outward.

"I heard that if it stops halfway we'll get cancer. Something about our DNA being unstable... though I really wouldn't mind having all this stopped. People don't deserve what's going on. Though..." The iguana trailed off. "I'm not sure where we'd all go after this. Or if we'd just end up being disected in some lab on the mainland."

Zachary Bloodstone
"I suppose..." He frowned nervously at her back. "Though I have no trust in my impulses now."

He hefted the Life box up, shaking it a little to check if it everything was inside. There was an answering thump and rattle of the board and other pieces within. Amaya's admittance nearly made him drop it. "Unstable? This... this is absurd. If they're so ready to admit that, how do they know it's not going to stay unstable after they're done doing these things to us?" There was no rage, merely disbelief, in his voice. "I'd risk taking that as a lie, though. I don't know... it's really just so difficult to figure out when they're telling us the truth and when they're lying. Oh, we could probably lie about our changes if we ever saw the rest of the world again. Everyone back on the mainlands would just think we're filming for a movie or something else at least ten times less ridiculous than what's really happened. I think we could get by for a while, long enough at least to see about getting anything extra... surgically removed." He glanced down at his tail, then up at his horns.

He shifted his grip on the cardboard box, careful not to puncture it with any claws. "I think I should go lie down or something. This is a little too much..." He quietly made for the door, but turned around poised in the doorframe. "Again, I'm really sorry..." He turned left and vanished out of sight.

Amaya Vaughan
"It's okay, I'll see ya around..." Amaya gave him a tiny smile and a wave as he left, then returned to her pinball game.

Research or Death...?
(Amaya encounters a changed Awen and talks about the more graver things of the island)

Amaya Vaughan
New RP

Amaya didn't normally go to the beach unless it was to bask. Or to the river or lake since she didn't normally see a point. Afterall, just taking a shower reminded her of how she looked.

But somehow, the urge to take a swim in such weather had built up enough that she actually decided to go ahead and do it. Wasn't like anyone would have to see her. So after putting on her black swimsuit and then a shirt and a skirt over that, she headed towards the lake.

Once she was there she looked down at the water and frowned at what stared up at her from the surface. But... oh well. She was here.

After looking around quiet a few times she finally quickly stripped down to her swimsuit and plunged in. It amazed her how easy swimming was now... Her form moved from side to side, much like an aligator would. Her tail did most of the thrusting while her limbs stayed at her sides. It felt like she could hold her breath a little longer too.

After a nice dunk she slowly popped her head back above the surface and let out a sigh. The water felt pretty good, her strong tail allowing her to tred water rather easily along with her large feet.

Awen Zyn
Awen had been peacefully enjoying her time in the lake. Her transformations had left her still sore, but in the water without the pressures and tense feeling to attempting to stay upright all the time, she was able to drift and let the water guide her. She was slowly recovering from the sores, but, she suspected, it was quicker than most got over it.

Her eyes had been closed as she rested in some niche under the water, below a sunken log, when she felt it. A strange movement in the water, it was something large and awkward, nothing that was normally apart of her domain. She looked up as the shadow passed over her and blocked out part of the sun. it took a moment to realise who it was above all that splashing and swishing.

Awen grinned and pushed off from her resting place. She swam a slow circle upwards before breaking the surface a ways infront of her reptilian friend.

"Hey Amaya." She said with a smile. Blinking to get here eyes adjusted to above the water.

Amaya Vaughan
"JESUS!" The green iguana's tail lashed behind her, sending her propelling back a few feet from Awen. Though when she realized who it was, she let out a sigh of relife and put a large hand over her heart.

"God... you scared the crap out of me." Why had she been so jumpy lately?

Oh. Well. There was the whole "almost getting eaten" thing. And the whole deal involving Aubrey. Yeah. She had a reason.

The last thing on her mind was the slight change in Awen's facial structure. Everything that had changed mostly was still hidden under the water. "Sorry Awen, been jumpy." Amaya sunk down in the water a little, propelling closer again. "How've you been?"

Awen Zyn
"No, no, no!" Awen waved one of her hands above the water in protest. "Don't be sorry, I'm sorry! I didn't been to startle you. Just saw you swimming and thought I hadn't seen you," or anyone... "in awhile and thought it would be nice to say hi."

She gave an apologetic grin and then shook her head slowly. "I've been... well. Alright I guess. As much as this place will allow. I mean... changing, being bored out of my mind, scared to death of recent events...the usual?" She managed a light chuckle.

Amaya Vaughan
The girl managed a laugh. "Yeah, same here actually." She ducked down, blowing bubbled with her nose for a moment in silence until she looked up at her friend's face again.

"Did you... change again?"

Awen Zyn
Awne blinked in surprise at the question. Did she really have to ask? Awen wondered briefly if iguanas had good eyesight and if Amaya just couldn't tell.

"Just today...actually..." She nodded and then titled her head slightly. Isn't it obvious? I mean... I nearly gave Alec a heart attack when he first saw me!"

Amaya Vaughan
"Oh... sorry. But, not really. Unless you actually really look. Your face is a little rounder and stuff, but I can't see underwater or anything." Amaya's eyesight haden't changed from when she first came on the island, so she didn't have the best eyesight around.

Green eyes then traveled to the water's surface, the blur of Awen's arm-fins and large feet was enough to tell her where most of the changes were. The lizard frowned and looked back up at her. "The third time seems to be one of the worst, I think..." Afterall, that was when she had lost her hair. "You're keeping your hair though, that's good."

Awen Zyn
Awen seemed slightly confused but also relieved when Amaya mentions her reasoning for not knowing the change. A hand raised from the water and felt her now rounded face. "Really? It's not that much different then...?" She muttered to herself.

She lowered her hand and shook her head a little. "But some good hair does me!" She laughed a little bit. "All it ever does is get more knots and tangles, sleeping in water every night isn't exactly good for your hair, I think." She demonstrated by trying to pull her fingers through her hair and not getting even a centimetre before it getting caught. "Honestly with this rat's nest I wouldn't mind giving it up at this point."

She paused a moment as a dumbfounded look crossed her face. The reason that Amaya would have even mentioned hair dawned on Awen as she quickly glanced up to the top of the scaley girl's head. Instantly she blushed and started to fumble for words. Awen, at least, didn't find the lack of hair to be a bad looking on the girl, and she had forgotten how self conscious Amaya had been about it.

"But, uh, well..er.. You know I'd trade you if we could Amaya?" She tried to give the girl a smile.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya just gave her a sad smile. "Thanks, but I'll let you keep it. Blue clashes with green." Her face twitched a little and she blew more bubbled with her nose, her feet keeping her up out of the water and in one spot.

"But you don't look that bad. You still gave the same eyes." And you're still pretty. Though she refrained from saying such a thing. It was bad enough she probably made Awen feel bad after mentioning her hair. Guilt-tripping = rude and stupid.

It was obvious from her posture, her soft speaking tone, and her expressions no matter how much she tried to look happy; the teen was still having issues.

Awen Zyn
"I have the same eyes, really? They don't feel the same... or.. see the same as they used to. Everything's kind of blurrier above water now. Brighter too..."

The manta paused a moment and then seemed as if something just clicked into her head.

"Hey! I'm wearing green! It so does not clash! You brat, stabbing at my fashion sense!" She laughed a little bit and shook her head, meaning to lighten the mood a bit.

Amaya Vaughan
"They look a little more... Asian, I guess you could say? But they're the same colour." Amaya watched a stick float passed them, though was snapped back to reality at the exclaimation.

"I mean blue hair with scales, not clothing!" She smiled a little and stuck out her large pink tongue.

Awen Zyn
Awen laughed a little bit and nodded. "OOooh sure! Cover it up now!" She sniffed a few times dramatically. "You know Amaya I can take the hint." She grinned. "I'll just have to order a whole new wardrobe!" She paused and looked Amaya over before taking on a more serious, but still light hearted, tone. "Actually that honestly doesn't sound like a half bad idea anyway... Maybe we could get some catalogs and get some new stuff, jsut the two of us huh?"

Awen thought it might make her feel better at least.

"I mean it's no shopping trip to the mall or anything but.. it's something?"

Amaya Vaughan
The reptile blinked, her tail still swaying back and forth in the water to keep her upright. "I dunno... I'm too scared to ask the labs for anything." She bit her bottom lip. "The last thing they gave me was iguana skin shoes... for Christmas."

Amaya shuddered, wondering what it had been like for those poor iguanas that had been produced into footwear. "I've just tried to stay away from the staff. That way I kind of fall off their raidar and they leave me alone..." She fiddled with her claws underwater, watching them through the blur of the surface.

Awen Zyn
"Oh..." Awen frowned and looked away. She swayed back and forth in the water slowly. The last thing she had gotten from the labs, besides the brand spiffy new injection, was her xbox 360 and bathing suits. How could they give Amaya iguana skin boots for Christmas, yet give Awen a PSP that plays under water?

Why did the staff test some people and tempt others? They were not at all being fair to everyone. It's not like Amaya had tried to start a rally against them or anything! Awen sighed slowly and shook her head angrily.

Then she shook it again defeatedly. "I'm sorry Amaya..."

Amaya Vaughan
"It's okay. They haven't bothered me or talked to me since the lockout or anything..." The iguana sounded like she was talking about playground bullies at school or something.

"They don't... bother you, do they?" She asked, concerned.

Awen Zyn
Awen's eyes snapped back to the scaled girl immediately once she asked the question. "Oh! No, no... Not at all actually."

Maybe the whole Sabin-Aubrey fight from before the incedent wasn't spreading as much as Awen thought it would. Maybe it was simply that Aubrey's near death and the whole investigation thing had drawn people's attentions away? Awen was thankful for all of this...

Amaya Vaughan
"That's good. Nice to know they're actually leaving us alone now." Amaya pursed her almost non-existant lips.

"Oh, and I think Zach was the one who hurt Aubrey." She said plainly.

Awen Zyn
"Really?" Awen seemed genuienly shocked by this. She hadn't seen him...at all since his changes began, as far as she remembers, so she didn't ever catch wind of him being very violent. "I always thought he would end up just hiding in his duplex somewhere with a tin foil hat!"

Amaya Vaughan
At that, the girl actually laughed. "Me too, but I don't think he was in the right mind. Because I think right afterwards he attacked me... Chubbs stepped in though, so it's okay. And he appologized. Which is why I don't think he knew exactly what he was doing."

Awen Zyn
Awen nodded slowly. "I hope he's okay. I mean... they didn't, haven't....done anything to him have they?" The girl remembered what happened to Jamal when he attacked a staff member, or even to Billy who attacked Colche. Both rather...cruel punishments in any case.

Amaya Vaughan
"I... don't think so. He seemed pretty shooken up, but that's to be expected." She paused. "Which is surprising, actually. Since she's second in command and all. I would have expected Moreau to kill him..." Amaya frowned.

Awen Zyn
For a time Awen would have thought that would make sense too, but somethig else had occured to her that was a little more fitting. "Moreau wouldn't kill one of his experiments.... even if it attacked Aubrey. From what I gather he cares more for his work than anything." She shook her head slowly.

"Besides, serums are expensive, and Moreau doesn't like wasting." She mentioned remembering what Sabin had told her of his pets.

Amaya Vaughan
"Hm, guess your right... but what about if we're done changing? As far as I know, both of us have only one more to go..." The lizard's expression turned grave. "Will they just kill us then...?"

Awen Zyn
Awen's eyes widened a little. "There's more?? I thought for sure this was the last time... I mean.." She looked at herself briefly. "How much more manta-ing can they do?"

Then Amaya's question really hit her. A grave look passed her face, if but briefly. She thought it was possible. After all, at the rate new islanders were pouring in... there was not way they'd all fit onto the island if they kept this up. But, she wouldn't reveal those thoughts. She hmmed and hawed a few times then shook her head resolutely. "No way. I'm sure there would still be much data to gain from us after we're done changing. Or maybe they'll decide to see what happens when they make a serum from our DNA and administer it to someone, or something." She shrugged. "There are still possibilities for research once we're done changing...."

Amaya Vaughan
More research... Amaya's expression turned even sadder. She would rather be put down then have to go through more poking and proding to see how she ticked.

And if the case was just that, making them a permanent lab rat... maybe just giving it all up was better. Though it all depended on how animalistic she would get. Would she turn into a huge iguana or something? Like Pyroth seemed to be heading towards? If that was the case, then the next change would bound to be the worst.

The teen's expression turned even darker, but she didn't say anything for what seemed like forever.

"Yeah... more research. Well, I better go. I'll see you around, Awen." Forcing a small smile towards the manta girl, she started towards the bank.

Awen Zyn
Awen winced and watched the iguana start swimming back to shore. Why was it, around Amaya this stupid manta always said the exact wrong thing? She shook her head slowly and was about to turn away when something happened.

The blue haired girl's stomach growled quite loudly and Awen realised she hadn't even eaten yet today. She frowned and glanced back to the village thinking about just how difficult it would be to run to the cafe for a bite.

She swam after Amaya. "Hey one sec..." She tried a really apologetic smile as she watched the iguana. "Um... do you think... you could, um, help me over to the cafeteria? I mean... if you don't want to, or just have someplace else to be I understand. I just... can't really walk very well at all, and my feet..er..fin..things... hurt a lot when I step on them with my weight... I know this isn't a time for asking favours...as I've clearly upset you..but...sorry..."

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya blinked at the request, her skirt on. She turned and looked at the manta ray, smiling as well. "It's not your fault, I just seem to get down easily. And sure, I can help you there." She pulled her shirt on, careful of her large hands and claws.

The reptile helped Awen to the cafeteria, but wasn't able to stay with her long. Cold water on scales + AC = frozen iguana. So after helping her out as much as she could, she headed back to her own duplex.

Transcript from the First Soccer Match!

At the edge of the village

THOM:Thom had arrived some time earlier with his box full of soccer balls, having lugged the entire thing over on the off chance that they had more popping incidents. He had remained off to the side, juggling a soccer ball n one foot, as people began to arrive, waiting until he judged that everyone was there before addressing the odd assortment, clearing his throat to demand attention before speaking. "Right, so.. T'day's simply judge skills, pick teams an' th' like day, so I 'ope y'don't expect much. I'm assumin' since you're 'ere, y' know at least th' basics of th' game, so we'll just run a few drills an' go from there."
AMBROSE:Ambrose smiled widely, tail wagging. He had opted to wear just a pair of khaki shorts, given the temperatures and his fur. He was also eager to get Angelina out in the open and her mind off of her change, as well as the thrill of the game, and competition with what looked a sizable group of people.
AMAYA: Amaya just hung back in the crowd, mostly towards were Alec was. Now that Ambrose had Angelina around, she didn't want to bug them.
ALEC: Alec fidgetting with the shoulder of his baggy top, looking around like he was truly lost and had stumbled on something completely alien. He'd played football before, but from the sounds of it this wasn't supposed to be some
ALEC: leisurely game of kickin a ball around the grass.
ANGELINA:Angelina stuck VERY close to Ambrose, looking exceptionally nervous. She was wearing a pair of biker shorts and a t-shirt that was tied up.
ANTONY: "Drills?" Antony cocked an eyebrow, tails lashing slightly behind her in irritation. Since when were they a part of a professional team? Wasn't this suppposed to be fun?
ANGELINA:For the first time since her change she was outside. Her spots and peachfuzz clearly visable on her skin, and her tail twitched nervously behind her.
REX: Rex nodded at the unchanged islander leading the whole ordeal and glanced around to their new motely crew. Animal-style soccer was sure going to be fun. Rex needed something to dedicate to and to get him outside.
THOM:Thom quirked a brow, tossing Antony a frown. "Ambrose an' I 'ad th' idea of a league type situation.. Add a bit more competition to it. Though we'd also expected a bit more people, I think," he muttered, glancing
ANTONY: She was wearing a sports bra and a pair of someone's boxers, waistband folded down several times so that the sort of fit.
THOM:around. "...Might 'ave t'settle for simple matches whenever we find time with this lot."
AMBROSE:"Well, we can always start small." Ambrose spoke up in suggestion. "Maybe try a practice match before more people gain wind of the league? Pick a sample team and see how we work together?"
KAVERI: Kaveri hadn't cared much for sports before, but she figured it would be a nice distraction to get her out of the duplex. She felt rather aloof, seeing some new faces in the crowd, so she stuck around the back of the group to listen.
ANTONY: "Maybe then we can gather some people and play football," she suggested absently, stretching her left leg carefully.
THOM:"S'up t'you, then." Thom shrugged, scooping his foot beneath one soccer ball and flicking it up into his hand. "Skip th' warm ups an' just pick teams? Take a vote."
AMBROSE:Ambrose shrugged and raised his hand.
LAURENLauren also raised, unsure as to which was best.
ANGELINA:Angelina figited with her shorts, pulling them down, and her sleeves, in a failed attempt to cover some of her spots as she waited to see what was happening.
AMAYA: Amaya just watched the others, not really caring what they did honestly.
ANTONY: "Sounds good to me," she said, cracking her neck lazily.
ALEC: Alec stared blankly, looking to Amaya with uncertainty before raising his hand.
REX: "I'm cool with whatever." Rex shrugged, with this bunch of misfits it would be hard to have equal teams anyways.
KAVERI: Kaveri gave a shrug and lamely held up a scaly, grey hand.
AMAYA: The iguana just raised a brow at Alec, giving him a "what?" look before turning her attention back ahead and lazily raised her hand a little.
THOM:"Uncertain bunch, aren't we?" he drawled, shaking his head. "Very well, suit y'self. Pick captain's an' we'll be on with it. I nominate Ambrose."
AMBROSE:Ambrose blinked, and then his face parted into a lupine grin. "Sounds like fun! I'm up for it if no one else wants to fight me for it." His tail wagged.
ALEC: The punk teen was expecting Ambrose to be picked, which was fine with him. He'd rather be on his team by the looks of it. As he waited, he rummaged for a cig and lighter.
AMAYA: Well hell, she had never even played soccer how was she supposed to act?
REX: "Go for it, bud." Rex nudged his head in Ambrose's direction with his tail flicking baack and forth in excitement behind him.
ANGELINA:Angelina looked uncertainly around the bunch, hiding further behind the much larger Ambrose.
AMAYA: Amaya caught wind of what Alec was doing and gave him a HARD nudge in the side with he elbow.
AMBROSE:Ambrose glanced back and gave Angelina a reassuring smile before walking up and joining Thom by his side. "And I presume you'll be the other?"
REX: Rex chuckled at Amaya and winked secretly.
AMAYA: The girl blinked up at Rex and then looked down, dropping her arm from it's jabbed position in Alec's side with a tiny smile.
ANTONY: Antony clicked her tongue at Amaya's motion, muttering something about being outside.
THOM:Chuckling dryly, Thom dropped the ball to the ground and folded his arms. "Oh I dunno, I'd 'ave thought miss squirrel over 'ere would've called it for 'erself by now."
ALEC: Alec snorted loudly when he was nudged in the ribs, almost biting down on the filter in his mouth. "Muh-wuh?" He grunted rather loudly and shifting the weight to his other foot.
AMAYA: "You're about to play a sport and you're lighting up a cig? It'll just get in the way. You should wait until afterward if you must." Amaya chidded.
ANTONY: Her eyes narrowed as her attention turned towards Thom, pointing towards him as if she were calling out a home run. "I'd watch it if I were you."
REX: And they already act like they're married! Rex thought to himself.
ANTONY: Needless to say, she had no clue he was a professional.
AMBROSE:"Alright... well... I guess it would be time to choose teams, then. Who goes first, Thom?"
ANTONY: "Oh he can fit in a smoke if he wants while teams are being picked." She said over her shoulder to the lizard girl.
THOM:"I'll take y'word for it, sweet'eart." He rolled his eyes, then waved a hand towards Ambrose. "'Ave at it. You pick first."
ALEC: He fought the urge to utter something back, instead he did nothing but put the lighter back into his shorts. "Ye...righ'."
AMBROSE:Ambrose nodded to Thom first, figuring he might give him the first pick, given Thom's experience. He looked out over the group of people in front of him and took a breath, looking indecisive.
AMAYA: The lizard visably winced, as if Antony had yelled at her or something when she haden't. Frowing, she just shut her mouth again and looked at the ground.
AMBROSE:No pressure, right? the little voice in Ambrose's head teased. There was Angelina... his girlfriend... looking nervous.... but on the other hand, there was Rex - a tall, sporty type who would likely play better...
KAVERI: Kaveri put her arms behind her back, curving her long neck down and somewhat folded so it sat comfortably between her shoulders without straining.
LAURENLauren couldn't stop herself from grabbing the large bug in the grass and popping it into her mouth.
ANGELINA:Angelina blinked at Luaren and stared in a bit of horror.
THOM:Thom's expression perfectly mirrored Angelina's as he stared at Lauren.
AMBROSE:"Er...." He drew out, looking between the two of them. Angelina... wouldn't mind if he didn't pick her first ... right? As long as he didn't pick her last?
AMBROSE:He took a breath and finally spoke out his first decision, tactics and competitiveness winning out. "Rex!"
AMAYA: Amaya seemed to be doing her best to ignore the mongoose.
KAVERI: The vulture-woman smirked as she watched the... ferret? ... eat the bug. At least it wasn't rabbit guts.
ANGELINA:"EXCUSE ME?" Angelina spun around, planting her hands on her small boyish hips, her tail bottle-brushing out.
REX: Rex's eyes flashed open in happiness, "Sweet." And walked over to stand next to Ambrose, his new team captain.
LAURENLauren caught Angelina and Thom looking and smiled a toothy grin complete with bug legs sticking through her teeth.
ALEC: Alec became distracted and watched Lauren down the bug, unable to contain his immature laughter despite the rather quiet gathering. "Aye Rex! Fair play!" He cheered as his friend was chosen, oblivious to Angelina's anger.
ANTONY: "Dude, he's male and this is sports, chill out."
AMBROSE:Ambrose's ears plastered back, looking sheepish. "Ah...." His eyes darted to Rex, flashing the lion-man a smile. It had been a while since he'd seen him - he'd definately changed. But he looked overall happy.
KAVERI: Kaveri started snickering.
LAUREN"I'd picked Rex too." Lauren added.
REX: "Feisty bunch tonight, huh?"
ANGELINA:Angelina stormed away from her hiding spot behind Ambrose in a huff, not caring if her shorts were riding up her a** anymore. Her tail twitched behind her in an annoyed fashion.
ANTONY: "Exactly." She agreed with Lauren, a look that clearly considered the choice a no brainer playing on her face.
THOM:Thom knew only a few of the islanders, but that knowledge did nothing to help him choose. His first thought was Alec...and then thoughts of the cigarette came back and he pointed to the
THOM:girl storming from behind Ambrose. "You."
AMAYA: Amaya just glanced at Angelina breifly. It wasn't like he was breaking up with her or something, why was she so upset?
KAVERI: Kaveri hadn't met Rex before, but she agreed with the others just by how the guy looked. "He looks like he'd be good at this," she chimed in.
AMBROSE:"Wh.... what??" Ambrose blinked, dumbfounded at Thom's pick.
ANGELINA:Angelina's expression was surprised at first, but her lips curled into a smirk. "Aye!" She stuck her tongue out at Ambrose and jogged perkily over to Thom.
AMBROSE:He hadn't expected that to happen. Never had it occurred that Angelina wouldn't wind up on his team.
LAURENLauren laughed at the situation. "Aww... someone stole your chick!"
ANTONY: "Sweet," Antony murmured, obviously eager to see how this game played out now.
REX: Rex's lips curled into a smile, flashing his large fangs. Taking Angelina away from Ambrose added in a whole new game dynamic.
THOM:Thom quirked a brow at Ambrose, a smirk playing across his lips. "Somthin' wrong?"
AMAYA: Ooooo, burn. The teen did her best to hide a smirk.
AMBROSE:Ambrose scowled, though there was a bit of a playful edge to it. "Nice pick, Thom. That's my girlfriend." His ear flicked back and he flashed him a grin with a bit more teeth in it.
ALEC: "'urreh up." The teen called out innocently, growing bored enough to consider leaving.
ANGELINA:Angelina stood next to Thom and buffed her fingernails coyly.
THOM:"Brilliant." He laughed, flashing a grin. "Bit of suspense never 'urt anyone. Pick y'next."
AMBROSE:Ambrose smacked his lips, casting Angelina and Thom a last rueful look before looking back out over the players. "Alec~!" He called out, remembering the teen's interest, and taking a gender bias.
AMAYA: Ahhh, s**t. There went her last friend to hide behind.
REX: "Yeheheah!" Rex cheered and went up to give Alec a high five.
ALEC: "Well ain't i' ma birthdeh." The punk teen gave a coy smirk and stuck his tongue at Amaya as he walked over to a place beside Rex after returning the high-five.
ANTONY: Antony simply stretched her left ankle and calf a bit more, pleased that it was feeling much better.
THOM:Thom nodded, glancing around the group before pointing to the mongoose girl. "You, ah, what was it, Lauren?"
LAURENLauren smiled. "Sweet! I'm with the pro!" She marched over to Thom triuphantly.
AMAYA: Amaya just frowned at him, feeling exposed and alone now. She shifted on her feet and crossed her arms over her chest, long tail curling slightly around her large feet.
REX: Rex smirked as Lauren's name was called, now knowledgeable of her relationship with Nita. He still needed to talk to her about borrowing her surfboard.
AMBROSE:"Hrmmm..." Ambrose scratched his chin and looked at the cluster of remaining people. Amaya.. Anthony... and Kaveri.
ANTONY: She blinked at Lauren's comment, eyes narrowing as she gave Thom a glare. Oh she hoped she wasn't on his team. He deserved an a** whooping.
AMBROSE:Anthony probably had the most game-spirit of the bunch... but he was already stung from not picking a friend... His eyes darted between Amaya and Anthony.
AMBROSE:"A-" He almost went to say Amaya's name... but years of competition, and some deep down pack hunting instincts made him deviate "Antony!"
AMAYA: Wonderful. Amaya felt like just sitting down and watching now.
KAVERI: Kaveri grunted, folding her arms over her chest. She never pegged herself an athletic type, even though she was made of meat. It was down to her and the lizard queen.
REX: Rex gave a puppy-eyed frown to Amaya, but changed his expression to greet Ant to their team with a hug and a smile. "Nice to see yeh!"
ANTONY: A wide grin appeared on her face as she pushed herself to her feet, making her way over to Ambrose. "It's on," she said to Thom before returning Rex's hug.
ALEC: Alec didnt seem to mind having Antony on his team, almost completely missing the hurt look on Amaya's face. It was just a game, right? The fact that he'd convinced to even come here in the first place eluded him.
THOM:Lovely. His only choices left were big foot and accordian neck. A tough choice.. He was extremely tempted to flip a coin on the decision.
ANTONY: "Likewise," she replied.
LAURENLauren wondered if it was legal for someone to use their tail in soccer.
THOM:"Right, then, I'll take, ah.." He waved vaguely in the direction of Amaya, as he hadn't the faintest idea what her name was. "An' then I'll find someone else so we'll be even."
AMBROSE:"Someone else?" Ambrose queried, then mock-pouted. "So I can't have an extra team member on my side?"
AMAYA: Amaya hesitated, looking at Kaveri. "I'll sit out if you wanna play. Doesn't matter."
ANTONY: "I'd say he," she gestured to Thom, "Can count as two since he's pro."
THOM:"You 'ave three lads, if anythin' I deserve the extra," he argued, shrugging. "But I 'ave someone in mind."
AMAYA: The last thing she wanted was to be on Lauren's team against all her friends.
LAURENLauren put her hands on her hips, "Three lads. Pshh... like having a c**k has anything to do with soccer" She looked highly annoyed towards Thom.
AMBROSE:Ambrose looked skeptical, but waited to see what he'd say. "Someone now? What do we do in the meantime?"
ANTONY: "Cause we all know that men are automatically more skilled than women," she said roughly.
REX: Rex watched the dispute in silence. He didn't care about the teams, in all honesty. He just wanted everyone to be happy.
KAVERI: "Whatever you want," Kaveri said, rolling her shoulders in a half-shrug.
ANGELINA:Angelina stayed silent. At least it wasn't football. She couldn't tackle an overdone french fry.
AMAYA: Amaya nodded and gestured towards Thom's team to Kaveri, sitting down afterwards.
THOM:"No offense intended," he added towards Lauren, gesturing to Ambrose's team. "But their, ah.. Animals're more built f'speed than out team appears t'be."
ALEC: Now we were going to fight over teams? Oh great. This was turning out to be like highschool. not... that he'd know anything about it.
THOM:our*
ANTONY: "You picked the least transformed," Antony pointed out.
KAVERI: "You don't wanna play?" Kaveri asked after Amaya, tilting her head at a quizical and probably unhealthy angle.
NITA:Nita sat on the sidelines, watching the proceedings. Was this really such a good idea afterall?
AMAYA: "Nah, I'm fine."
THOM:"Not really," he countered, jabbing a finger towards Amaya.
AMBROSE:"Come now... it's okay! It's just a game. Amaya - can you call the plays? Maybe? If you don't want to be on a team? Or I'd be happy with an extra player" He grinned.
ANTONY: She frowned, and offered Amaya an apologetic look for Thom.
ALEC: Alec frowned deeply, staring at the lizard girl. "Wha, ye no' playin now? Fook tha', if she don'play, then fook tha'." The irishboy was starting to show a bit of temper, irritated at how this was turning out.
AMAYA: "I dunno how. I'll just sit out and watch." Amaya said, hugging her knees and ignoring Thom.
LAURENLauren found herself annoyed at the team drama. Like she had any right getting annoyed at drama considering how much she normally CAUSED.
KAVERI: Kaveri chewed on the inner stud of her labret. "C'mon, he picked you, dude. Nobody's gonna want a fat necky girl on their team anyways." She motioned towards Thom, getting a little annoyed.
THOM:Thom just rolled his eyes, folded his arms, and stepped to the side to wait until everyone shut up or wandered off.
ANTONY: "If she wants, she can play ref and then red card your a**," she jabbed her finger towards Thom the exact way he had to Amaya.
AMBROSE:Ambrose sighed irritably. This was not working out at all like he had envisioned - a good natured competition. A sport, working together with a group...
AMAYA: Great, she had caused all of this? "I'm FINE. Damnit. Go ahead, Kaveri."
ALEC: Alec frowned even more, hearing Kaveri's jab. So this new guy was playin favorites now? The slow teenager was starting to catch on and wasn't liking it.
ANGELINA:Angelina sighed and sat down in the grass (it better hid her tail) and waiting for everyone to calm down.
REX: Rex didn't like all of this agressive competition so early in the 'season'. Why couldn't people just accept that they were on the team that they were chosen for? In the end they were all (or mostly all) friends.
ANTONY: Antony turned to Kaveri and tried her damndest to keep her temper in check. She wasn't exactly 'skinny.'
REX: He followed suit to Angelina and kicked back in teh grass.
REX: *the
KAVERI: Kaveri groaned, "Man, just go out there and play and enjoy yourself. I'm in no shape to be doing anything anyways."
THOM:"Oh come on now, this wasn't meant t' offend anyone. Pardon me f tryin' t'pick people who look like they can run without trippin'." He scowled.
LAUREN"Can we just PLAY!" Lauren shouted out. She wanted to get on with the game but most importantly she wanted to move around.
ALEC: That was it. Alec stomped towards Thom and got right up into his face. "Wha the 'ell thas s'posed t'mean ya bloody peice a work!?"
ANTONY: "Are we going to ******** play or not?" She finally growled loudly, glancing around at everyone who had sat down. Unfortunately, Thom's comment had hit a nerve,
AMBROSE:Ambrose did his best to keep Antony over with Rex while stepping forward. "Okay. We've got the teams... I for once agree with Lauren. Let's put aside differences, anxieties, and have a good time."
ANTONY: but luckily Lauren yelled before she could launch herself at the Brit in retaliation.
KAVERI: "I can run just fine," Kaveri said, turning quickly to face Thom and ending her sentence with an annoyed, throaty click. Sure, her toes were huge but she learned how to get around on them.
AMAYA: "Go play, Kaveri. Everyone go play." Amaya glared at the sand in front of her, looking more pissed off then she probably ever had before. She didn't seem to be budging.
LAUREN For once agree with Lauren... what the ******** was that suppose to mean? But Lauren oddly enough kept her mouth shut and just rolled her orange eyes at Ambrose.
ANTONY: Antony stepped foreward and grabbed the Irish boy around the waist, pulling him away from the Brit. "Get him in the game," she murmured into his ear.
AMBROSE:Ambrose's ears flattened seeing Amaya, feeling bad and guilty now. And he knew he might very well be getting a guilt trip from Angelina later. He sighed.
THOM:Thankfully, any retaliation to Alec's outburst was silenced by Ambrose's words. Thom settled for a glare, backing away a pace himself as Antony pulled Alec back, then sighed. "Are we playin' or not?"
AMBROSE:"Amaya... we'd love your help with directing the game if you don't want to play on a team. Now... let's pick goalies, and Thom.. point out the goals"
LAURENLauren pointed to Nita, "Maybe she could join?"
REX: This was getting to get too much drama, he felt like standing up and roaring over all of the bickering, but controlled his breathing and kept his cool. All of the excitement could get a lion worked up.
NITA:Nita shook her head vehemently, which was a mistake. It only served to bring back the dizziness.
AMAYA: "I don't know how to direct a soccer game." Amaya said honestly, and a little more bitter then she had intended. "I'm just watching."
ANTONY: "I can goal if you want,
ANTONY: Ambrose, less running," she suggested.
AMBROSE:He sighed again. There was no convincing her over the already existing drama. He'd have to catch up with her later. Finally, he nodded quietly and turned to Antony. "That might be best.. with your leg and all."
ALEC: Fuming, Alec patted Antony's hands to calm himself down and backed off immediately. He wasn't one to fight, even now. Pacing around, he hung back until everything was settled. Tell him when to play and he would.
KAVERI: Kaveri suppressed the urge to hiss and hop a few steps back, the vulture instincts welling up from all the tension. "So who's ******** side am I on? Normal boy's, right?"
ANTONY: She let go of Alec, giving his shoulder a squeeze before looking at Thom expectantly for where her goal would be.
AMBROSE:"Yes... Kaveri... I'm sorry, apparently so."
REX: Rex nudged Alec friendily and mouthed "Breathe" calmly. Things should wind down soon.
AMBROSE:Ambrose gave an appreaciative nod to Rex.
LAURENLauren had failed to see why everyone was getting so mad at Thom, other than the fact the game had not started yet.
THOM:"Good t'know I'm th' bloody villian 'ere," he muttered, then glanced around. "They 'aven't let us much 'ere t' use... We could stretch th' field a bit an pick a few trees, may'aps?"
LAURENShe smiled at Nita, giving her a wink, too bored to do much else.
KAVERI: Kaveri grunted and ambled over to Thom's side, opting not to say anything else.
AMBROSE:"The trees work for me." Ambrose agreed, giving Antony a nod and then another one to the closer of the two points.
REX: "Or we could just use jackets and the like to mark where goals would be if the trees don't work." Rex suggested.
ANTONY: "Or just draw lines in the sand."
AMBROSE:"That might be easier."
THOM:"Jackets'd be 'arder t' see, but that works as well." He shrugged, then turned to 'his' team. "Who wants goal? At this point, I could care less."
ANTONY: Too bad they didn't have an actual soccer field.
AMBROSE:Ambrose muttered again under his breath at the dampened spirits.
LAUREN"I'd rather be running." Admitted Lauren. She didn't want to stick in one place waiting for action to happen.
ANGELINA:"I'm kind of small for a goalie," Angelina offered.
THOM:Thom turned his gaze pointedly towards Kaveri.
REX: "Alright then!" Rex said, springing to his feet to try and liven the mood up again. Nothing was worse than a league of half-assed players. "We
REX: 've got the teams and positions getting sorted. So shall we warm up for jus'go for it?"
ANTONY: Antony cracked her knuckles and eyed Thom as she made her way towards 'her' goal. He was being such an a**.
KAVERI: Kaveri was probably one of the larger people on the team. She would not be surprised if she were picked for that alone, and she returns the gaze with a shrug. "Whatever, I'd honestly rather be running."
ALEC: "Ye." Alec agreed with Rex for the sake of doing so, nudging the lion to move away from the group and practice on their own.
AMBROSE:Ambrose clapped his hands, trying to sink in with Rex's enthusiasm. "Yes - this is supposed to be fun - now let's start having some, alright?" He chimed in.
LAURENLauren looked rather annoyed, "Well whatever. I can goalie if you WANT me too. I just want to play."
ANTONY: "Yall can trade off if you want."
AMBROSE:Ambrose nodded to Antony. "And that's a great suggestion. So everyone can be on the field at some point."
CASSIDYRather belatedly, Cass slithered her way over to the crowd, more intending to come watch the game than actually play. "Um, hey guys!"
AMBROSE:Ambrose's ears pricked as he heard a new voice, his mouth splitting in a grin. "Cassidy!"
THOM:"...We'll do without," he muttered, sighing as he turned back to the rest of the group. "Just run fast."
AMAYA: Amaya just glanced at Cass. At least there would be someone else to talk to while everyone else played.
REX: As Rex made his way to their side of the soccer pitch, he eyed a green monstrosity slithering down the field. Who was that? He stopped in his tracks and returned to the group for this new reassessment.
AMAYA: She stayed balled up on the sidelines, staring at her feet as she dug them into the sand.
ANGELINA:Angelina waved at Cassidy with a smile. Wonder if she's thought any more about my idea.
KAVERI: "You can tackle people in this game, right? The sign said football," Kaveri said.
ANTONY: To get her mind of murdering the normal one, Antony waved to Cass.
LAURENLauren eyed Cass too, she had heard about her and seen her around. Why did she have to get the fun serum? Jealous eyes gazed over the snake girl.
AMBROSE:"Not that kind of football! Soccer-football. Hey Cass - that makes the teams even - if you and Amaya played?"
THOM:"...Soccer, Kaveri. Not American football. Oi Cass, come be goalie for me." He waved her over, cracking a grin.
ANTONY: "Not normal football, unfortunately." Antony sounded somewhat sad.
CASSIDY"I think I'm just watching, today." Cass laughed, slightly self-consciously. "How am I supposed to play? I can't kick."
ANTONY: "Like hell Thom! It's Ambrose's pick."
AMBROSE:"heeeey, Isnt' it my pick" Ambrose chimed.
ANGELINA:"Goalie!" Angelina said enthuisastically.
KAVERI: She caught Cass out the corner of her eye, turning her head. She'd seen her before, on that one day. She waves, then turns to Thom again. "Can I still beat people up?"
ANTONY: "Exactly." She smirked at Thom.
THOM:Thom frowned.
AMBROSE:"Only if you're on my team." Ambrose replied to Kaveri
CASSIDY"Goalie?" Cassidy tilted her head. "I... guess that would work."
ALEC: Meanwhile Alec moved over to where Amaya was sitting, standing by her so that his shadow cast over the scaley one entirely. "Come play now, ye?"
KAVERI: "Sold," Kaveri grinned. "Any way we can do tradeoffs?"
AMAYA: Amaya couldn't help but feel even lower. Someone without legs was getting picked faster then she was.
LAUREN"Recruitment is NOT an option!" Lauren shouted out.
AMBROSE:"It's a different game now with more options." Ambrose grinned.
AMAYA: "I'd be on Thom's team." She replied blankly to Alec, not looking up.
KAVERI: "I wanna be on the side that thumps some heads," the vulture-woman jabbed an approving thumb at Ambrose.
ALEC: "NO, ye stuck wi' th' d**k'ead." Alec grinned mischevious at Kaveri and grabbed Amaya's arm to pull her up without even listening. "So? Come on, kick me 'round."
ANTONY: "Man, if it's full contact, I'd love a chance to be switched from goal at some point." Antony could difinately deal with playing dirty.
LAUREN"dickhead sounds more lasting then 'The normal one' I think you have a new nickname." Lauren beamed at Thom jokingly.
AMBROSE:"Sounds fair to me to switch out with Goalies. Amaya, Cass. You two have to play." He said demandingly. "Bigger teams, more fun."
AMAYA: "Whatever." Amaya frowned, letting herself be pulled up.
THOM:Mary Mother of God, he had created a monster. "So--wait, who's on which team now?" A pause, and he cocked his head towards Lauren. "..Thanks so much."
CASSIDYCass scratched her head. "I knew I should have got here sooner. I'll play, I'll be goalie."
KAVERI: "That's true, 'the normal one' will only last like a month."
ALEC: "Ha-ha." He chimed as Ambrose made the decision for Amaya and dragged her further into the group.
REX: Rex nodded in agreement with Ambrose's coments, "And besides Amaya, you'll block like no other with those hands of yours." He tried to make the comment seem as offhand as possible, he knew she was sensitive about her changes.
AMBROSE:Ambrose laughed. "Alright, Cass - you shall be a tough goalie to get past. We'll take turns on my team."
ANTONY: Antony gave Lauren a cheerful, approving grin, "I'm sure dickhead could be improved if we had time to be creative."
ANGELINA:Angelina looked forlornly at Kaveri's comment
AMBROSE:"Oooh, that's a good point, Rex. Amaya - want to be goalie?"
KAVERI: "Judgemental p***k?" Kaveri offers with a grin.
AMAYA: "Sure."
ANTONY: "Works for me," she grinned wickedly.
AMBROSE:He clapped her on the back, tail wagging now. "You'll do great! Protect our goal, soldier!" He grinned.
AMBROSE:"Now, team, let's see if we can beat Dickhead and his ladies." He trotted towards the middle of the field.
CASSIDY"Go for it, Amaya!" Cass clapped her hands.
LAUREN"We need a another team name. I don't want to be Dickhead's ladies" Lauren said seriously to Thom.
ALEC: Happy enough that things were starting to work out, Alec skipped (yes, skipped) off towards his teamates and hip-checked Rex as he went by.
AMAYA: The reptile smiled slightly, allowing herself to be dragged off.
KAVERI: "Dickhead's Angels?"
REX: Rex jogged quickly behind Ambrose, these people needed some livelihood.
AMBROSE:"How about just "The Ladies!"" Ambrose called back over to them, teasing.
ANGELINA:Angelina rubbed her temples. Oi.
ANTONY: Antony doubled over at both Ambrose and Kaveri's comments, laughing loudly.
CASSIDY"Dickhead? Have you been making enemies?"
AMBROSE:((Ambrose's: Rex, Alec, Antony, Amaya))
AMBROSE:((Thom's: Angelina, Kaveri, Lauren, Cass))
ANTONY: "He was being a little s**t to Amaya," Antony said simply to answer Cass' question.
THOM:Thom blinked after Ambrose, then, scowling, waved Cass towards the chosen goal and dragged the box of balls off the 'field'.
LAURENLauren seriously wondered what she had started. I mean, she was just playfully jabbing at Thom, she didn't mean anything serious about it.
CASSIDYCass made her way over to the goal, feeling as awkward as she looked. "No picking on Amaya..."
ANGELINA:"He wasn't picking on her really. Everyone's being sensitive."
AMBROSE:Ambrose nodded to Angelina, giving her one more apologetic look, big puppy-dog-eyes and all.
ANTONY: She pointed towards Thom as she made her way out on the field, "Karma's about to bite you in the a**."
AMBROSE:Ambrose turned to face Antony, Alec, and Rex. "Okay, guys! This is for fun, but try your best. Our team is built for speed, so let's use it, okay?" His tail wagged as he looked at his 'packmates'.
AMAYA: Sensitive? Wasn't she the one throwing a fit over Ambrose?
KAVERI: Kaveri was going to show Thom that 'fat' girls weren't completely incompetent at sports. She was built like a tank! She'd be a good linebacker or quarterback or something. They have those in soccer, right? She never really
KAVERI: paid attention to that stuff.
LAURENLauren had met karma but knew she wasn't anywhere around here. In fact, she was not in her duplex anymore either. She seriously wondered what was going on and why she was going to bite Thom on the a**.
REX: Rex scowled at Alec's hip-check and took off after him. He deserved a good noogie. Though after a bit he stopped to listen to the leader's words.
AMAYA: Amaya stood between the two "goal posts" that were... trees. Oh yay.
THOM:After retrieving the soccer ball from the center of the field, he met with his team near their goal. "Firstly? I'm not as much of a d**k as m' new title suggests. Kaveri--that's y'name, right? Feel free t' tackle
CASSIDYCass coiled herself loosely in front of the vague goal, the tip of her tail twitching. "Okay. Um. I haven't played soccer... football.. whatever, since high school. I don't really know what I'm doing..."
AMBROSE:Ambrose clapped his hands, ending the short huddle and went to the field middle, leaning forward with his hands on his knees, tail swishing and ears forward and down to the sides.
CASSIDY"... wait. Tackling?"
LAURENLauren cocked an eyebrow, "Rules changed?"
THOM:any an' everyone on th' other team. Lauren an' whatserface, just try t'stay open...An' Cass, just don't let anythin' in the goal, righto?"
KAVERI: as big asKaveri went out onto the field. She had no idea how to play this game, but she figured she could just body check people into submission or something. Her eyes lit up at the mention of tackling, "******** win!"
CASSIDY"Well, geez. I remember that much." Cass laughed.
REX: Rex jogged out to the cetner of the field behind Ambrose as backup. He hadn't played in ages but it couldn't be too complicated to pick up again. He grinned menacingly and bared his large fangs to the opposing team.
THOM:"Then y'good t' go," he assured her, cracking a grin. "Right then, let's go." Dropping the ball on the ground, he started back for the center of the field, lazily dribbling it from one foot to the other.
AMAYA: Amaya shifted from foot to foot, tail swaying slightly behind her. All she had to do was block the goal... right?
ALEC: Alec stooped down in his chosen position, digging his heels into the grass to prepare for a run. "Wait, wuh po... place am I playin?" The confused teen stood back up, obvlivious that the ball had been dropped.
ANTONY: "Just be brutal, and all else fails Alec, rough the Brit up for Amaya." She motioned towards his woody joints and smiled.
LAURENstay open... right... Wasn't she suppose to kick the ball into the goal. Lauren wondered if this was going to be a team effort or a one man show. She wasn't going to let it be that way.
KAVERI: "The hell if I know, all I know is, I'm the tank," Kaveri flexed proudly, giving her sternum a hard pat. This brought her back to her protesting and rioting days.
AMAYA: Amaya snorted from her position at Antony's comment.
ALEC: Alec grinned, having forgotten about his "rough" elbows. Maybe he'd actually play well today? If he didn't get flattened by Kaveri or something first...
LAURENRunning Lauren was good at, being fast and agile she was GREAT at since the change. But tackling... not so great. Hopefully she wouldn't get pounded into the dirt here. She didn't want to have to tunnel out of a squished situation.
ANTONY: Antony allowed herself a few strong straight jumps in place to 'warm up,' or to simply show people that her leg was fine and dandy. Time to go crazy squirrel.
AMBROSE:Ambrose keeps his eyes on Thom and the ball, trying to keep himself between him and the goal.
CASSIDYOh man. Cass didn't even know some of these people, or what she was doing. Please, let no one tackle the goalie.
KAVERI: Kaveri looked for a good position to put herself at. She wasn't sure if she wanted to play offensively or defensively.
REX: "Lets get it on!" Rex hollered, jogging up behind Ambrose as back up in case Thom broke away, which was just about garaunteed to happen.
THOM:And, finally, the game was on. Thom stole a quickly glance around to pick out his team mates, nodded Lauren ahead, then broke into a run as he neared Ambrose, swerving around the wolf man.
LAURENLauren rushed ahead trying her best to stay open in case Thom was in a bind.
REX: Rex saw the juke and curved in towards Thom at a run, jabbing at his feet to try and steal the ball away.
ANTONY: Antony immediately went after Lauren after seeing Thom's nod, having no problem keeping up with her longer legs.

AMBROSE:Ambrose murmured a curse, and slowed down to change directions before chasing after Thom's heels from the other side of Rex.
AMAYA: Oh damn, was this guy a pro or something? Amaya watched from the goal, keeping her hands up.
ALEC: Alec backpedalled quickly, quickly deciding he was going to back up the goalie as a blockade.
CASSIDYYikes. This Thom guy really was good. Cass had seen him play around by himself, but... wow.
THOM:Thom stopped the ball on a dime by placing a foot atop it, the other serving as a guard between himself an Rex. Spinning a quick circle, he scooped the ball with him and darted around the lion man's
THOM:other side, resuming his charge towards the goal.
KAVERI: Damn, it was all going too fast for her. Kaveri decided to hang around back to play defensively, knowing she would never be able to keep up with Lauren and Thom.
LAURENLauren saw Antony approaching and tried to dodge around her but knew she was being covered. Especially with all those damn tails.
ANTONY: "So much for having a team," she jeered at him, fluffing her tails out to help block Lauren from view. Finally, a use for the ******** grinned at Antony and her taking advantage of her ... attributes, but kept on Thom, trying to make it to the stopped ball before he could take a shot.
REX: "Darn, he's good." Rex muttered to himself. Dropping to a slow jog, their only hope now was Amaya.
ALEC: Seeing as two people had already been slid past, Alec figured it was his time to try something. Charging for Thom he skipped to the side and snapped his foot in an attempt to snatch the ball away.
REX: Ambrose needed his room anyways.
ANTONY: "Come on boys, play rough," she called to Rex and Ambrose. "He's not your granny!"
LAURENLauren finally found an opening as Antony was distracted, jogging foreward closer to the goal with mongoose speed.
THOM:"Well y'blockin' m' runner," he shouted towards Antony, but kept his eyes ahead. As Alec charged, he made another clever save, guiding the ball towards the right only to slip his foot around and give the ball
THOM:a swift kick towards Lauren.
REX: "Gooood stuff!" Rex furrowed his brow grinned evilly. He charged head-on towards Thom and jabbed his foot in wherever it could go. Rex needed a warm-up, get his head into the game.
AMAYA: Amaya ran to where Lauren seemed to be heading to, but stayed between where she and Thom were.
CASSIDYCass strained to see from her end of the field. It was all really confusing from this point of view.
AMAYA: Amaya ran towards where Lauren was the second she saw the white orb travel in that direction.
ANTONY: "s**t," she muttered to herself as she pelted to try and block the pass, but instead of trying to get ahead of Lauren, she simply charged her shoulder into the mongoose's.
THOM:...And was terribly glad he had done so when Rex's foot connected with his shin. After sending a kick of his own towards the lion man, he rushed to Lauren's aid after the ball.
ANTONY: Hopefully her weight would work for her.
LAURENAs Lauren went to kick the ball she was knocked down by the squirrels force. "s**t" She yelled as she fell.
ALEC: Alec snarled as he was absolutely dismissed, the skinny irish kid attempting to stop and change direction back towards Lauren.
LAURENShe did quickly recover but the ball was out in random play.
AMAYA: "Yay!" Amaya cheered for Antony.
ALEC: "YES!" He yelled and made a b-line for the stray ball.
ANTONY: Antony lept over Lauren, and went for the ball, turning and kicking it in the opposite direction of Thom.
NITA:Hey, isn't that a foul? Nita wondered. It had been years since soccer in gym-class, but... D:
CASSIDYCass was beginning to wonder how well she'd hold up if she got tackled. Especially by, say, that lionish-looking fellow.
THOM:One Lauren fell, Thom knew the ball was out of his grasp and doubled back to intercept the expected kick from Antony, muttering curses under his breath when it went off in a completely different direction and rushing after it.
REX: Rex caught the ball with his foot from the kick by Antony and said, "I think it's a throw-in, isn't it?"
LAURENLauren was realising why soccer wasn't a contact sport. It just didn't fit the game. She was onto her feet and ran to a more defensive position towards the goal hopeing to help recover the ball.
ANTONY: "No hard feelings?" She called after Lauren, keeping her eye on the Brit as ran to hold him up, allowing her tails to help block his view of the ongoings.
AMBROSE:Amrbose's ears pricked and he applauded his teammates. His adrenaline was starting to pump. This is how things were supposed to be.
THOM:Slowing to a walk, Thom nodded, letting Antony rush ahead and lingering back towards Ambrose. "Right, toss it in."
REX: Rex blinked confused, his mind blurred from the rules and jogged towards the sideline, ready to receive the ball.
KAVERI: Kaveri stood in wait as she watched the ball go towards her side of the field, poised to run up and body slam anyone who got near her. Mercy on the person who gets in the path of a charging tank!
ANTONY: "And here I thought we had permission to play rough." She scowled, slowing down and motioning towards Kaveri's earlier musings.
AMAYA: A thrown-in? Why? She blinked and slowed down from running back and forth in the goal whenever the ball got close.
CASSIDYCass shifted slightly, feathered arms spread, trying to prepare herself. Oh, yeah, she was going to get smacked in the head, she just knew it.
ANTONY: "You know, with Dickhead giving Kaveri permission to tank people."
ANTONY: There better not be double standards, she thought heatedly.
REX: Rex took a few steps out, figuring it was far enough to be considered 'out of the field' and threw the ball towards Antony over his head. Finally things were getting a move on...
ANTONY: Antony blinked when it was thrown to her and she let the ball bounce off her chest before passing it quickly to Ambrose with a swift kick. Afterwards she set off in a quick run upfield towards Cass.
ALEC: Alec darted into the opponent's section of the field, waiting for somesort of pass so he could make a shot on the goalie. "Uhh... KICK T' ME!"
CASSIDYOh no! Cass had to try not to panic and decided to just take up as much room in the goal as she possibly could. There was a lot of her... but not nearly enough to block the whole thing.
AMAYA: Finally the action was off of her. Relaxing a little, she watched the game start to move a little more down the other half of the feild.

Poker Makes no Sense
(Amaya learns some poker from Alec, Ivy, Nathan, and Awen)

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya had been spending a great number of her days in her room, secluding herself... save for a couple of times she made sure to check up on Alec after the whole incident at the beach.

After a small lunch she made her way to the entertainment room. Maybe she could find a movie or something to sit down at watch... anything to keep her mind off other things.

The green iguana didn't even hear the others inside, pushing the door open and freezing in the doorway when she saw the others... two she didn't know what were unchanged. Great. Tail going rigged behind her, she cowered a little and went to close the door. "Sorry, I'll go somewhere else..."

Awen Zyn
At Ivy's words Awen suddenly stood up from the table. "You know guys... I forgot that I... I have to go meet someone." She sudden panging thought of Sabin seemed to stirr something else. Vaguely Awen heard Amaya's voice, and that was four people around. For some reason that made the manta uncomfortable, which of course was fueled by her miss of Sabin.

She bolted, as fast as the manta could bolt, across the room and out the door past Amaya. "Sorry guys!" She shouted after her. "Next time okay?"

Alec Derring
"You n' me both." Alec chuckled at Nathan's comment about his chosen outcome, shuffle the cards a bit jsut as Awen got up from the table. He didn't even have time to say goodbye before she rushed out of the room, his eyes following until he noticed the quiet lizard girl by the door.

"Ah-ah." He called out, pointing to the iguana as she turned to flee the crowd. "One playeh down, we need a replacem'nt!" The irishboy grinned, jagged teeth glinting as he began dealing out the hands, even to the empty spot that he intended Amaya to fill. "Nath'n, Ivy... Amaya." With a short pause to point her out, he went about finishing up dealing. "Kay, ye go' th'drift o' th'game. Les' play." Not leaving any room for disputes, he lifted his cards and peered at them all the while trying not to laugh.

Nathan Moriarity
There went Nathan's jaw again. He clamped it shut this time, trying not to be rude. Especially as this one had claws. Amaya sounded like a girl's name, but it was hard for him to tell, with the lack of hair and the scales and such.

"Hi," he managed quietly, before drifting back to his seat. "I guess it's time to deal, eh Alec?" he asked, forcing himself not to stare at the reptilian creature. Though his mind was racing, wondering what in the hell he was going to become. Something more sociable if his recent urges to be around others meant anything.

"Alex...you from the UK then? How the hell'd you get here? Wherever here is."

Ivy.Ferris
"Nuuu! Awen, where are you going??" I cried uselessly as she ran out the door. Ah well, I'd track her down later to see if she wanted to go swimming. Turning back toward the table, I noticed the girl named Amaya hiding in the corner, despite the chair Alec had pulled out for her.
"C'mon, come and join us! we don't bite." I said, smiling gently at her. She seemed really nervous, and kept trying to hide her tail.
Meanwhile, Nathan was gawking again. Here was my chance to both distract and flirt. I tapped him lightly on the arm. "So, are you good at poker? Maybe you can teach me-I'm gonna need some help. M'kay?"

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya blinked, stepping back in surprise just as the door slammed back open again and the manta ran out. "Bye Awen..." She said timidly as she watched her go.

Green eyes then went back to the group playing, one of her large hands holding the door open just enough for her to peek in. "What're ya playin'?" The girl asked quietly, her tail sliding back and forth behind her.

She winced slightly at the gape from Nathan, but gave a small "hi" in return to both of them.

"Poker...?" Amaya slowly walked in at a strange saunter, tail going back and forth behind her. "I dunno how to play." Grabbing the chair Awen had vacated, she spun it around and then sat on it backwards next to Alec.

Alec Derring
Alec tapped the cards on the table, indicating that they were for Amaya. He secretly hoped she'd be ok to hold them herself or he supposed he'd do it for her. "Ah, c'mon i' simple." He smirked and leaned back in his chair. "We'll take i' easeh th'first roun'. No bets. NOW-" He took a deep breath, looking like he was preparing the same shpeal he'd blurted out before.

"Ye ge' fav cawds an ye try n' get somethin good ou' o' them like fo' of a kind, full 'ouse, tha' kinda stoof. Ye c'n drop cawds to th'dealeh and ask f'more. Ye bet moneh an' try n' pretend ye go' a good 'and." Nodding as he finished, he went ahead and nodded to Nathan that it was his turn.

"Alec. An' ye, am fr'm North Irelan'. Heh..." He smiled a bit and looked down to focus on his hand. "A go' stook 'ere cuz a' though' a' was gonna be inna band."

Nathan Moriarity
The dark haired man looked at Ivy with a bit of confusion. He wasn't used to feeling anything when girls flirted with him, so the sensation of ego was new. "Oh, I'm not too good at it really, but I'll try to help you."

Nathan pulled his cards to him though he didn't look at them just yet. He arched a brow at Alec's words and his nose crinkled in a bit of amusement and perhaps a little flirtatiously himself. "Alec, sorry, I suck with names, I'll try to remember. I was in a band just before I ended up here. I brought my guitars with me, thought this was going to be a free vacation. How stupid was I?"

Ivy.Ferris
I grinned happily, scooching my chair closer to Nathan. Sliding my arm casually through his, I took my cards and put them in order. Then I froze. "Wait, I'm allowed to see my cards, aren't I? s**t, I'm sucha dweeb."
Then Nathan and Alec's smalltalk clicked with me. "You brought guitars??" I squealed, looking at Nathan. "AWESOME! I mean, I brought my guitar on the trip, but then I came here and I think it got left behind...can I play yours? If you let me, I'll love you for ever!!!" I pressed my cheek happily to his arm.

Amaya Vaughan
The lizard looked at the cards, thinking about how she would hold them before Alec began his explaination. "But what's a full house and that kinda stuff?" She questioned before glancing back at the cards on the table in front of her.

After a moment of thinking, she used one hand to slide them into the palm of her other hand, then used her fingers to put them face-up. It took a lot longer, but it was the only way she could think of at the moment without spearing the cards with her claws.

For now it was almost like she was ignoring the two humans in the room. It made her feel a little less self-conscious when she just focused on what was in her large palm.

Alec Derring
Alec grinned at the mention of guitars, ignoring Ivy's weird squeals and bubbly actions as he sorted his hand and waited. "Aye, thas pretteh cool." He smirked, oblivious and focused more on the game. "A' play drums, we shoul' jam t'getheh some time." Sweet. Maybe he shouldn't give up on the band idea so soon.

At Amaya's question, he nodded reassuringly and chuckled. "Ah, s'ekay. A'll tell ye when ye go' somethin' good."

Nathan Moriarity
Nathan nervously shifted as Ivy got a bit too cozy. He wasn't real keen on the whole girl cooties touching thing. And even the mention of the L-word in jest brought back horrible memories of his past. He folded his cards on the table and swallowed. "Hey all, I'm suddenly not feeling so hot...the injection again I think, if it's ok, I'm gonna pass on the card game and go lie down. Nice to meet you all, and Alec, I'll take you up on that. I'm in #50, drop by anytime."

He extracted himself from Ivy as gently and quickly as he could, too confused about warring bodily urges, mentalling finding Alec smoking and Ivy repulsive, but physically feeling like he could go after anyone in the room like some crazed beast. He hastily fled.

Ivy.Ferris
"Wha-b-bu-y-you.." I stammered as Nathan practically fled the room. Could an injection do that to someone? I haven't been feeling sick or anything. Trying to convince myself he likedme, I pulled my chair closer to the table. "So, um...should we get started? I can help you with your cards, if youneed some." I added, smiling sadly at Amaya.

Amaya Vaughan
"Okay." Amaya nodded to the punkster and scooted closer so he could see her hand, then watched Nathan go. Even though she didn't say anything, she was begining to get the feeling she was the one scaring people off... Awen and now Nathan. But Awen wouldn't be scared... would she?

"Uhm. No. I'm fine." The teen quickly said to Ivy.

Alec Derring
Alec nodded, waving to Nathan as he got up from the table to leave. "Aye. See ye!"

"Kay, S'ye turn." The punkster gestured to Ivy as a cue. "Drop ye cawds o' stand n' do nothin."

Ivy.Ferris
I sighed, looking at my hand. Queen of clubs, jack of diamonds, nine of hearts, six of spades, two of clubs...Hrm. I threw down the six and two. "Hit me!" I cried happily.

Amaya Vaughan
The reptile looked down at her hand. Jack of hearts, 5 of diamonds, 7 of clubs, 9 of hearts, and 6 of hearts. Okay... Now what? Green eyes looked over at Alec.

Alec Derring
Alec laughed and shook his head, flipping two more cards at Ivy face-down before leaning over to Amaya to peer at her hand. "Throw tha' down." He pointed to her Jack of Hearts though he forgot to provide any other explanation why.

Glancing at his own hand, he threw down the 2 and dealt himself another card.

Ivy.Ferris
I pickedup the cards Alec threw down. Jack of spades and a seven of diamonds. That helped a little...But after moving them around sneakily, I threw back down the jack and two.

Amaya blinked and put down the one as instructed, looking at the punk before hesitantly and carefully pulling out another card. Eight of diamonds. Okay...

Alec Derring
After Alec had dealt out the required cards, he glanced at his own hand and held in the urge to curse at his poor luck. Guess that full house wasn't going to easy to get.

Leaning over again, he peered at Amaya's hand and almost fell off his chair. A straight. On her first try. And who said the girl wasn't lucky? "Stay." He snickered and patted the iguana girl's shoulder, wondering if he should go ahead and fold. Giving in, he tried once more for the right card to come.

Ivy.Ferris
I looked at my hand. Useless..I sighed. "Well, I think I'd better go." I told them. "Let's play another round soon, ok? But right now it's my bedtime." Puttingmy cards down and hugging Amaya and Alec, I told them, "I'm in Duplex 49 ifyou ever wanna visit, ok? Keep in touch." I grinned as I put my headphones back on and flounced out the door. Poker was fun.

Amaya Vaughan
The iguana literally jumped at the hug and watched Ivy go. "Okay... bye." She gave a small smile before looking at Alec. "Now what?"

Alec Derring
Alec winced but watched Ivy bounce away with a half-smile. "See ye!" He hoped a person as crazy as her would keep her good mood once she changed. It'd be a shame if she had her spirits broken, even if she was a little weird.

He rubbed the back of his neck and turned back to the game that was quickly dying from lack of players, smacking his hand of cards down with a pronounced -thump-. "'Ou win." He snickered and pointed to her hand. "Thas called a straigh'. Fair play!" The teen went about gathering up the discarded cards now that that was through.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya just blinked and put her hand down with the rest of the cards. "But... I didn't even do anything..." Poker made no sense!

Alec Derring
Alec laughed and replaced the cards inside their package, slipping that into his pocket. "Is no' s'posed t'make sense, is pokeh! Ye go' i, you play i' hawd. Ye don', ye fake i'!" He knew that would probably make even less sense to Amaya but at that point he didn't care. He had fun and that's all he cared about.

"Wan' me t'walk ye back?"

Amaya Vaughan
Okay, now the girl was totally lost. But instead of questioning it, she simply stood up and turned the chair back around before pushing it in. "Sure." She smiled.

"Jaw not giving you any problems?"

Alec Derring
"A' fink a' loss a' toof." Alec mumbled as he poked at his mouth while getting up from the table. He'd realized one was missing the other day but was finding it harder to locate the spot it'd been knocked from as time passed.

Shrugging and reaching for the cig behind his ear, he walked over to Amaya so they could leave together.

Stumbling Upon a Bat
(Amaya encounters Rayana)

Rayanya VonStrantz
Rayanya was finally out and about again. She had been locking herself in her room for days on end, praying to Woten and Thor and every other good in the great blue sky (At least of the Norse kind), that this would end or be a dream and she would wake up normal once again.

She didn't know why she was still ensnared in this freakish, hairy version of herself. She knew she didn't like it, though. She'd shave the hair and it would all just grow right back, covering her chest and her face. It was disgusting.

The jungle was her locale today, brought there from the nostalgia of a day when she was fully human and had first met Ambrose amongst the weeds. Maybe, somewhere deep inside, she hoped that she would walk through the jungle and it would be like Alice awakening from Wonderland: everything would be back to normal and she would be just fine.

Amaya Vaughan
Like her, Amaya despised the body she was in now too... but didn't pray for it to be over or to wake up from a dream. She knew it was the reality of the situation and in the end, there was nothing that she could do about it. The only real thing she prayed for now was happiness and that someday Moreau's mad experiments would end. That people would stop being kidnapped to this horrible rock and toyed with like puppets.

But deep down, like always, she held little faith. Even when her parents were alive and took her to church every Sunday. It had just never really clicked for her like it did for some. So the green iguana lived for the day... even when the day she lived was boring and sad. Happiness would find her someday... hopefully it would happen sooner then later else she would likely go into a deep depression.

But for now, her mind was filled with the story she read and only that. Amaya sat on a high tree branch in the jungle, her legs and tail swinging back and forth slightly as she read from the book in her lap. (Her hands had difficulty holding anything now.) She was content with just basking and occupying her mind for the afternoon.

Rayanya VonStrantz
Rayanya traversed slowly through the jungle, apparently looking for a path -- she found it, that same one that she had run when she first encountered Ambrose. With a heavy sigh, she walked up to one of the trees in the jungle and threw herself down on the ground below it, not looking anywhere but down, not noticing anything but the jungle floor.

Her back slumping against its trunk, she removed, from what must have been a hidden pocket in her skirt, a small travel sketchbook and a pencil kit. She would carefully choose a pencil and place it delicately to the paper, scribbling and sketching. It was hard to tell exactly what she was drawing: a plant, perhaps? Or a tree? Or something that only she could see, something that was nagging at the back of her mind?

Amaya Vaughan
The girl heard rustling coming towards her and shifted her legs up to perch on the branch like a gargoyale, ready to run... though it seemed that this woman didn't see her at all. That was good.

Green eyes watched her silently, tail swaying back and forth below her. Was she drawing? She squinted her eyes to try and see.

Rayanya VonStrantz
With more scribbling, it was starting to become apparent that Ray was drawing what appeared to be a bat. Or at least a bat should someone chose to hybridize it with with a human, like most of the creatures on this forest. Her transformation may have still been at a small stage, but she knew, with almost full certainty, what she was becoming now. Being trapped in that cave with Hargun was hint enough.

When it had taken enough form to be recognizable, Ray suddenly shifted from her melancholy and into anger; her pencil, now pressed to the point of breaking, scribbled thick and heavy lines over the form on the page. She did it so hard that the tip wasn't the only thing that broke: the pencil was snapped, jaggedly, in half.

Amaya Vaughan
Then with surprise, Amaya watched the picture vanish in a mess of black lines followed by a snap of the pencil. She jumped slightly and grimaced. Maybe now would be a good time to leave...

Slinking to the other side of the tree, she stuffed her book into the small bag she carried and started climbing down head-first. Even though she was trying to be quiet, her claws did manage to scrap hard against the tree bark.

Rayanya VonStrantz
Ray had one thing to be thankful for due to all this -- her hearing was growing better and better, especially as they adapted to their funnel-like shape. She heard leaves moving, small critters slinking -- and a scratching noise, behind her. Her eyes widening, the girl leapt to her feet and spun around, pencils and sketchbook falling, abandoned, on the ground.

Glaring into the jungle, she demanded, "Who's there?"

Amaya Vaughan
The lizard landed on the other side just as Rayana jumped up. She winced and placed one hand on the trunk before peeking around it at the woman. "I... Sorry. That I scared you."

Well, she looked fury which was good... so whoever this was wasn't new. Bad for them but good for Amaya. The more changed they were the less they were surprised when someone looking like herself popped out of the foliage.

Rayanya VonStrantz
Inspecting the lizardlike -- female? Yes, she was female -- girl, Ray felt a pang of empathy rocket through her mind, as well as sympathy. She knew that the other was akin to her own self, trapped here, forced into these monstrous transformations. But the girl looked so uncomfortable: the scales must have itched as they grew in, and those long fingers looked like they made life difficult. She prayed that she got to keep her fingers at least somewhat normal...

"Oh. Hello. No problem, its something you get used to here. It seems like there are more and more of us every time I venture out of my duplex." She smiled sadly, lifting a hand to adjust her top hat.

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah, I've been... running into a couple of people that are new, actually." The teen frowned. The only real way to distinguish that she was female was the slight curve in her figure, her clothing, and her voice.

"I'm... Amaya, by the way."

Rayanya VonStrantz
"Newcomers, mm?" Rayanya shook her head. "Thankfully, I haven't come across any of those yet. Although its kind of hard for me to. I haven't been getting out much." Ray wondered what it would be like to find a new person; what would they think of her? They most likely wouldn't believe Ray, merely writing her off as a somewhat hairy woman with oddly pointed ears.

"Oh, sorry," Ray muttered, snapping out of her train of thought. "I'm Rayanya. You can call me Ray. You look like you've been here a while, yet I don't think I've ever met you."

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya nodded. "Yeah, I'm still running into people I don't know even though I've been here since... September. What about you?" She asked hesitantly.

Rayanya VonStrantz
Rayanya thought for a minute. "You know, I don't quite remember how long I've been here for. A long time, though... since before Christmas, I remember that much at least." She sighed, wrapping her arms around her chest.

Amaya Vaughan
"Wow." The iguana stepped out from behind the tree, leaning against the side now. "You don't look very changed for someone whos been here for so long." She said honestly. Lucky girl.

Rayanya VonStrantz
"Yeah... it took a while for the first change to come about, and even longer for the second... I think, sometimes, that my body just kind of resists whatever it is they pumped into it. Either that or they're just submitting to slow, cruel torture." Ray smiled wryly, looking over Amaya. "You look like you've been through quite a lot, though. How much further do you think it'll go? The changes, I mean."

Amaya Vaughan
"Well that's good. I seem to be changing rather quickly for how long I've been here..." Amaya frowned, her tail curling slightly around her feet as she looked at the ground. "I've been through three and as far as I know... I only have one more left. I dunno what'll happen then. Or what they have planned for us once were "finished."" She winced and then looked at the disgarded pencil halves and the sketchpad, picking them up carefully and holding them out to her.

"Here."

Rayanya VonStrantz
"Yeah, I'm kind of wondering about that too. Maybe they'll turn us back to normal and send us home or something... preferably with a memory wipe..." Ray smirked at the other girl, taking back her drawing supplies. "Thanks. I'm kind of in a bad mood about all this today. Still bitter about waking up in a cave a couple months ago, too..." Ray sighed.

Amaya Vaughan
"That would be kind of nice. Though I'd miss the people I met here... if I remembered at all." Was that possible? To wipe someone's memory? The girl thought so, if they could turn them into animals then why not? But then she would have never known what had happened. Where the time had went. Who she had met. Ambrose, Rex, Hargun... Alec...

Her chest tightened up and she forced herself to think of something else.

"You mean the lockout? Yeah, I woke up next to a helicopter crash with two fake, charred bodies..." Amaya scowled.

Rayanya VonStrantz
Rayanya shuddered. "Isn't that pleasant. I woke up in the middle of a dark cave with no light: I was lucky to have a book of matches on my person." She sighed. "Of course, along came the bats just as we were about to get out, and then I noticed that my companion was turning into a bat... and I think I've figured out my fate. I don't get it though; I don't have cravings for bugs or anything, just for fruit. What kind of bat eats fruit?" She shrugged her shoulders, looking exasperated.

Speaking of fruit -- Ray darted her eyes around the forest, looking to see if there were any trees about bearing melons or something.

Amaya Vaughan
"Oh, you must have met Hargun." So thats where she had been all that time... The lizard thought to herself.

"Fruit? Isn't there such a thing as a fruit bat?" She asked more then stated.

Rayanya VonStrantz
"Yeah, Hargun." Ray frowned slightly at the memories that the two had shared.

"And what? A fruit bat? Never heard of it. But then, I'm a city girl, and the only kinds we have out there are the ones that eat bugs and the people who think they're really vampires." Rayanya rolled her eyes, demarking the prospect as preposterous.

Amaya Vaughan
"The only kinds back where I lived were brown bats. I think that's what Hargun is turning into." Amaya paused. "But yeah, I think they're are bats that eat fruit... they have orange fur and big black ears. I always thought they were cute."

Rayanya VonStrantz
"Orange fur and big black ears, eh?" Ray smiled wide, a twisted smile. "Sounds like Hallowe'en incarnate." She laughed at that, a dark chuckle, her eyes gleaming slightly.

"So what are you turning into, exactly? I think I saw a lizard at a pet store similar to... well..." Ray cut off, she didn't want to be rude and just out and say 'hey, I saw a lizard that looks like you.' Even if it was the truth.

Amaya Vaughan
The teen gave a sad smile. "Green iguana." Her long tail brushed along the ground behind her.

Rayanya VonStrantz
"Hey," she said with what she hoped to be an encouraging smile. "That's not so bad. You can climb trees, and you don't have to eat bugs. Last I knew iguanas ate fruits and vegetables. And eating bugs has never been something that suited my pallette."

Ray moved over to a tree and leaned against it, crossing her legs. She was growing weary of standing on just her heels.

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah, I know. Herbivore now. And it could always be worse." Amaya sat down as well, hugging her legs and curling her tail around herself. "But like you said... it still doesn't make things any easier."

Rayanya VonStrantz
Rayanya sighed. "No, I don't think anything could make this any easier. I mean... we're turning into monsters, here. Things that no one will ever see. If we ever dare try to walk amongst normal humans again, we'd be hated, hunted, and executed."

Ray glowered. "I wish I knew what Moreau's effing social status was. Probably doing this to us over some childish bully god complex or something." A sigh. "Even if it meant that I would be forever trapped like this, I'd hurt him if I could. He seemed so nice. b*****d..."

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah..." The reptile sighed, looking down before back up at Rayana. "He was the one who gave me my first injection. And Lauren, who helped." She rolled her eyes. "********... b***h." Her tongue flickered and a small hiss escaped her mouth.

"She's an islander too. Turning into a mongoose with horns or something and is so far up Moreau's a** she can't see her own feet." Oh, it was rather obvious what her oppinion on the other girl was.

Rayanya VonStrantz
"I don't believe I have met her before." Ray wished she had a cigarette, as she sat out here in the peacefulness and clean, fresh air. It was kind of disgusting.

"I didn't know it was possible for a subject to be on friendly terms with him. Though I guess he does have his favorites. Hargun got dishes made of dung for Christmas, she told me. I got an iPod and a new dress. But then, I'm not like a lot of people here. I realize that there's no way to ever fight Moreau, and therefore don't even bother trying."

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah, I got a pair of iguana-skin shoes." Amaya frowned. "Neither of us did anything aside from make faces at the cameras and he still does crap like that just to make us angry." She rolled her eyes.

Rayanya VonStrantz
Ray frowned at the other girl. "I'm sorry. What a jerk, giving you shoes made out of what you're turning into. That's like... cannibalism, except your wearing what you are instead of eating it. I wonder what they would call that..."

Eyes becoming distant, Ray was starting to get lost in thought once again.

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah... and I can't even wear shoes anymore." The green iguana glared ahead of her at nothing, picturing the red-headed man's face simply laughing at her suffering and saddness.

Though her anger was short-lived, washing away and being replaced with depression once more. Being angry was too exhausting in a place like this.

Rayanya VonStrantz
Ray frowned down at the feet of the other female. "Yeah, I can see how that would be difficult. Selfish as it sounds, I hope I don't lose any random body parts or have them deformed. With any luck, my arms will stay as they are and the wings, if I get any, will come out my back somehow. Sounds painful, but I don't want to lose my arms like Hargun did."

She stretched, gently. "Although I'm getting extra skin under my arms, so I doubt that wish will come true."

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya nodded sadly, but seemed to remain silent for a time before finally sighing one last time and standing up. "Well, I better go back and get something to eat... I'll see you around Rayana. It was nice meeting you." She started on her way down the small path.

"Oh, and I'm in duplex number 22."

Rayanya VonStrantz
Ray smiled gently and twitched her fingers after the retreating figure. "24 for me. Room above the priest."

She watched Amaya disappear through the jungle, then got to her own feet and decided to head out herself.

Green Iguanas are Cool?
(Amaya meets Cody)

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya had settled into her normal routine, just trying to keep herself busy to keep from going insane. Though she still wasn't really happy with where her life was going... obviously, she now didn't really care.

From the talk with Awen, the green iguana had came to a conclusion that when she hit her last change then they would probably perform horrible experiments on her before putting her down. How else would new people keep getting on the island? Eventually the whole place would be overun with duplexes.

But for now Amaya wasn't thinking about the future. All that was on her mind at the moment was the need for food. A salad sounded nice. Like it always did. She wished she was able to miss eating other foods, but she was starting to forget what some of them tasted like.

Walking towards the cafeteria, she slowly pushed the door open to peek inside.

Cody Archer
Cody was still in the cafeteria, finishing off a second slice of chocolate cake. No wonder Colche liked it

He heard the door creak and saw what looked like a human sized lizard trying to sneak inside. He wasn't scared though, it must be another animal-person the island seemed populated with

He waved a greeting, feeling too shy to talk to someone he didn't know

Amaya Vaughan
The girl blinked once she caught sight of the little boy, wincing slightly despite the small wave given to her. What was a kid doing on the island by himself? Were the doctors that heartless?

Well... yeah.

Hesitantly Amaya came inside, making sure her tail was inside before the door closed behind her. "Uh... hi." Came her timid voice before she offered a forced smile and fidgetted with her fingers before going over to the food.

Cody Archer
Cody looked amazed at the girl's lizardly features, specially the hands, the scales and the tail. She was a lot more advanced than Thom

"Hi... I'm Cody"

Amaya Vaughan
The lizard could tell he was kind of staring, but tried her best not to notice it. She grabbed a bowl of salad and a bottle of water, looking back at the little boy when he spoke up. "My names Amaya... Uhm..."

Amaya bit her bottom lip. "I can leave... if you want." The kid didn't look that scared, but she didn't want to stay if she was scaring him at all.

Cody Archer
Cody had half a smile playing on his lips. To him reptiles were one of the coolest creatures on earth... except for turles, but those were boring

"Leave? Why?"

Amaya Vaughan
"Well, I dunno if I'm scaring you or not... though you seem okay with how I look..." The teen looked down at the bowl in her fingers. "Sometimes new people see me and run away screaming."

Amaya trailed off, glancing back over at him. "You know what's going on then?"

Cody Archer
"Why should I be scared? Lizards are cool" he shifted on his seat so he could have a better look at Amaya "Ambose was afraid I'd be afraid of him too. But I wasn't. I said real werewolves only come out during full moons... the scary ones"

He stoped his conversation at the second question, pondering a bit "I think so. Aubrey said there were animal-people living here and Thom and Colche said they were changing people into animals..."

Amaya Vaughan
"I see... Thom and Colche were telling the truth." The reptile took a few steps closer until she was standing by the table. She set her bowl down, looking at him with a sad expression. "What did they say to bring you here?"

Cody Archer
"I came here to try a treatment for my MS"

He was a bit distracted, looking at her scales. He wanted to touch and feel the texture but it wasn't polite to approach people like that

Amaya Vaughan
"MS?" Amaya blinked, having never heard of it before. The kid seemed alright, though...

Looking down she pulled out the chair next to him, spinning it around before sitting on it backwards. Her long tail slid off the back and rested on the floor behind her.

She loved children, though he was only about... 5? 6 years younger then her? And it had been a long time since she had talked to someone younger then her. The iguana found comfort in the fact he wasn't scared of her and actually held general interest in the little boy.

Cody Archer
"Multiple Sclerosis. Brain disease"

Cody hoped she wouldn't feel pity for him or started treating him different. He already had enough of that back home, people making him feel like an invalid

"Sorry, but... what animal are you?" he couldn't really place what type of lizard she was. He had seen iguanas at pet stores but only the small ones

Amaya Vaughan
"Ohhhh... I see. You seem fine to me though." The girl cocked her head to the side slightly and gave a small headbob. Green eyes then went back to her tail, the appendage that had given away what animal she was when she had changed for the second time.

"Green iguana." Amaya raised her tail to eye-level and twitched it a little while she poked at her salad with her fork, held oddly in her hands.

Cody Archer
"I look fine most of the time" he sighed "but sometimes the symptoms kick in. Numbness, shaking, tiredness, bladder problems..."

He looked at her tail and her hands again, specially when she holded the fork "Weird...but neat"

Amaya Vaughan
"Ohhhh, I see. Like a nervous system disease?" Cody certainly knew more about it then the lizard did.

She flicked her large, bright pink tongue before eating some of her salad and talking only after she had swallowed. "Yeah..." Amaya followed his gaze. "My hands are too big to do a lot of normal things now and doing everyday tasks is hard sometimes. My tail gets in the way a lot too."

Cody Archer
"Yeah. It's a real pain. No cure... though the doctors here said they found one"

He looked amazed at the way Amaya ate, though he avoided staring for too long this time

"But I bet you can do cool stuff with them, like.... I dunno, climb and paddle and stuff"

Amaya Vaughan
"I dunno how turning you into an animal will help that, but then again someone I know, Zach, grew back and arm because of it." Little did the teen know that Cody knew nothing about being turned into an animal himself.

"I guess so. Climbing is a lot easier. So is goalieing." She smiled a little at the thought of the soccer game.

Cody Archer
Only now Cody did the math. By treatment they probably meant turning him into an animal too

"You sure? I can't see how that would cure my MS. I can't grow another brain" he was pretty sure of that

"You play soccer too? I love soccer"

Amaya Vaughan
"Hopefully it will, though I can't see how either... the last thing you need is to be an animal with MS." The reptile grimaced.

"A little, yeah. We had a game the other day, I was on the one against Thom and blocked all but one of his shots." She smirked, feeling proud of herself. "He kicks really hard though, my hands stung afterwards."

Cody Archer
Cody nodded. It would suck to be an animal and have MS. But Aubrey said she was going to get him cured. She seemed certain of it

"Probably that's how he plays all the time. I had a friend who kicked the ball really hard too... and hit me on the face. Twice"

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya grimaced. "Ouch. Didn't break your nose, did it?" She questioned, seeming genuinly interested.

"And if you're brave enough you can ask Aubrey what they're turning you into on the intercoms. And ask if they'll give you pain killers or morphine or something." The green iguana would hate to see the poor guy in pain.

Cody Archer
"No, luckly. He just had a really lousy aim" he didn't want to admit how much it had hurt, him crying at the pain. Boys weren't supposed to cry

"I will. Right now" he got out of the chair, trying to look brave "I liked meeting you. You're really cool looking"

Cody dashed out of the caferia towards his duplex

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya blinked in slight surprise as he got up and declared her "cool looking" before taking off. She swallowed what was in her mouth and gave him another sad smile as she watched him leave. "Bye Cody! I'm in duplex 22!"

Princes and Princesses

Amaya Vaughan
New RP

Instead of basking in the trees today, Amaya had opted for the beach. In the peek of the afternoon she felt it was warm enough to risk taking a short dive into the cold ocean waters to cool off a little. Though she wasn't able to stay in long, it was a nice feeling.

She now sat with her long toes lapped by the waves as they drew closer then pulled back. The green iguana's expression was mostly blank, her tail curled slightly around her and her arms hugging her knees.

Colche
Colche's voice came quite loud though for once, without a song. She was reading. her nose was planted firmly in the short childrens novel which she held in both hands. Her perfetc blue eyes scanned the pages before her and although she occasionally found a word which she struggled, stumbled and ultimately spelt out she seemed to be doing well with this page. Truthfully she had read this page once already with Josh she just wanted to read it again just to double check she hadn't missed anything. Of course reading without Josh was always a struggle he helped her with allt he hard words and theones she didn't understand.

The golden white sands soon touched her foot paws though and she smiled giving a long gentle puurr of happiness. She loved the beach and the last of the afternoons rays played accross her tawny and black marked fur beautifully. For a moment she stood looking rather than like a child with a tall tale in ehr paws like a young woman her slender beautiful figure paused as if in deep contemplation the golden rays of the sun making her big baby blue eyes glimmer almost magically. Of course this didn't last too long, when Colche was out and about she wanted to be moving and playing not standing still and contemplating the universe as she knew it. With that in mind she tucked her book mark back int he page she had been reading and placed her book on top of a fallen palm where it would be safe and far, FAR away fromt he salty water which would ruin the precious pages.

Her head lifted suddenly and an alert look came about her face which was swiftly replaced by a huge toothy grin "Amaya!" Colche shouted bolting down the beach only o dive quite literally head first at the green iguana lady.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya was rather oblivious to the cheetah girl until her name was shouted above the crashing of the waves. "Hm?" Blinking, she turned to look just in time to be tackled down by Colche.

Her feet and tail went up into the air as she tumbled onto the sand with an "oof!". Though the girl's composure was quickly regained as she gave Colche a smile. "Hiya Colche." Though it didn't seem as enthusiastic as it had once been. Not that she wasn't glad to see her! ... But... things were getting harder and harder to be happy about. Even her 'little sisters' happy face.

Colche
Colche puurred happily nudging Amayas cheek with her nose she grinned broadly ehr long furry tail wagging back and forth in a mad sort of whirly fashion. "Where been Amaya?" She tilted her head curiously those big blue eyes curious. It was pretty obvious by the way that Colche was speaking she was more confident about the fact that her words meant something and wern't just jumbled up madness, as they usually were. With a further purr she sat happily pretty much perched in Amayas lap her still perfectly innocent blue eyes forever wondering.

"Lotsa new people son island Amaya" she whispers her ears flickering. "I gots learny man!" She thought she should tell Amaya about her learny man asap! After all he was the one giving her this confident speach pattern, Amaya should know about him he was swiftly becoming an important part of the cheetah girls life.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya sat up, allowing the older girl to sit on her lap like a child. "I've just been around. Dealin' with things." She smiled a little and shrugged, running a couple of her long fingers through Colche's raven locks. "Yeah, I know." Her smile faded a little upon remembering Cody.

"Learny man? ... Like a teacher?" She blinked her green eyes, a little confused. Colche DID seem to be speaking better, but then again it had been awhile since she had last seen her and her speech was always making improvments.

Colche
Colche giggles a soft happy puurr escaping her as Amaya groomed her fingers through her exceedingly long hair "Uh huh, Professor!" She beams "teachings to read an writes and speaks!" she clicks her tongue happily her deep blue eyes smiling happily, she was very proud of her self about these things, she was trying so hard just to be able to speak like everyone else, her work was starting to pay off.

"Him nice" she coos her tail curling around ehrself as she said it "becoming giraffe like melman" she giggles, she liked to refarre to her teacher as 'like melman' cause melman was a fun chracter. Still when her giggles faded she pl;ayed with the tip of her tail for a moment and looked at amaya, she had taken up this habbit recently playing with the end of her long fluffy tail. "Hims name Josh, is nice, helpings lots" she smiled happily her blue eyes looking sort of foggy though they quickly cleared up and she grinned broadly. "Amaya comes see, has lessoons every days" she puurrs she still didn't know the day of the week or what month or date it was but she knew that a new day started when the sun came up and ended when it went down again, between those two times she had lessons with Josh and he taught her, and helped her with dream.

Amaya Vaughan
"A professor? Huh..." The lizard blinked, wondering if maybe he could help her finish highschool... Though at the mention that he was becoming a giraffe she winced, but it only lasted a second. No need to get down about it while Colche seemed to enthusiastic.

"I'd love to come watch one of your lessons." Her smile was more genuine this time. "And do you think he could help me learn what I missed before I came here?"

Colche
Colche looked thoughtful "maybes!" she puurrs her big baby blue eyes smiling happily "Josh English professor" She nodded at that, she knew what he was a teacher of and everything. It peased her to no end that she knew. "gets learns together amaya!" she giggles, it acctually made her smile that she might have a person learning with her.

"2Amaya comes when feels happy an sees Josh, him nice him help" she pururs pretty sure that Josh would be willing to help Amaya too.

Amaya Vaughan
"That would be nice." Amaya smiled, though raised a non-existant brow at her next statement. "Is it that obvious I'm not happy...?" She frowned.

Colche
Colche smiled gently, it was strange the way she knew if those of her 'family' were not happy. Nudging her 'big sisters' chek with her nose the cheetah femme smiled softly, she took a deep breath and for the first time in a while she looked very thoughtful her tongue tip sticking out between her teeth "I knows when nots happy, nots smile" She whispers her head tilting a bit as she hugged Amaya gently, in a sisterly manner "no be sads" she puurrs the sound echoeing from fdeep in her chest her deep blue eyes closing for a moment "still has family Amaya, an always, always be you" she coos, she had started to realise lately that not everyone wanted to be here, it upset her that if they had the chance ehr family would vanish. She hated and feared the fact, the island was her home, without it, there was just the dark scary place.

Amaya Vaughan
The teen sighed and hugged Colche back. "I know..." She ran her large hand over the back of her head, though whether it was to comfort the cheetah or herself she didn't know.

"You'll always be my family, no matter what... but there are some things I wanted to do that I'll never get the chance to now that I'm here." Colche was one of the people she could pour her heart out too. "I wanted to graduate highschool, find a boyfriend, get married, have kids and then die with my husband when I was old and grey... it might not seem like a lot but now that'll never happen." She swallowed. "All I have left is my family and even though I can't begin to express how much you all mean to me... something is still missing."

Colche
Colche pouted a little her brow creasing though she tilted her head and whispered her voice ever the gentle muurr "Amaya find prince one day" she whispers. nudging her friends, her sisters shoulder with her nose "one day your prince will come" she humms a few bars from the sleeping beauty disney film and smiled playfully. She knew that one day Amaya would find a prince, she just knew it, it would just take time.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya smiled slightly at the princess cheetah. "Maybe... but I don't think bald, boyish looking girls attract a lot of attention."

Colche
Colche pouted, she was determined to proove amaya wrong "was bout Mulan?" she raised a brow, she had watched both of those films and in both Mulan had been very boyish. "you see, in times" she smiled gently "no gives up, mommy says prince comes for every girl in times" her blue eyes danced happily at this, she was convinced that some day her own prince would come but she was happy to wait.

Amaya Vaughan
"Mulan was still very pretty." The reptile seemed like she had made up her mind that it would never happen, solely by how the relationship she had with Alec was working out. Even if a guy liked her, she would never be more the friends to them.

Then, something else came to her mind when Colche had mentioned her 'mommy'. "Hey Colche..." She shifted out from under her to sit next to her, hugging her legs. "Did... your mommy say anything about what would happen after we're done changing?"

Colche
Colche frowned "Amaya purty" she stated simply her deep blue eyes frowning.

When amaya asked about the changes though Colche shrugged "nopes" she didn't seem to care, this place was her home there was no where else for her and she was fine with that.

The little cheetah girl yawned then and stretched ehr limbs a bit looking to the sky "nearly sleeps time amaya" she whispers, she still had a routine of an afternoon nap before getting up for dinner then sleeping the nigth through. She truely stuck to the 116 hours cat napping ritual though it had definately lessened since her lessons started.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya smirked a little. "Thanks Colche... and okay. You should go ahead and get your sleep." She gave the girl another hug before standing. "I'm gonna go take a walk. Keep me updated on your lessons okay?"

Colche
Colche nodded and got to her foot paws hugging the girl who was her sister she smiled softly "Amaya always be purty" she puurrs smiling softly she padded on up the beach to retreive her book which she held tightly to her chest and gave a long sigh and a smile "come seesoon okies" she smiled jumping over the palm trree and off back down the track to the villiage with a yawn. Why was everyone so sad? She didn't understand didn't everyone have everything they wanted?" licking her lips she carried o down the path, she doubted she would ever understand.

Amaya Vaughan
"I will!" The iguana called after her, giving a wave as she watched Colche vanish. With another sigh she turned and started towards the jungle to start her walk.

You had a feeling it was coming...
You hated how you looked... the scales everywhere, the bald head, not even really looking like a girl anymore... and yet you dealt with it, for months. For a lot of it not knowing if that would be how you spent the rest of your life and could get used to it... or if more, tumultous changes were still to come, further distancing you from the normal teenage girl that you are inside.

You feel odd that evening. More content to hang about in your warm room that go out and feel social. Even in the warm room, you've felt sluggish and uncomfortable.

Then it happens, your tail begins to hurt as it starts to lengthen even longer than it was before, until it is easily as long as you are tall. Your body begins to shift, thickening as some major internal organs shift as your ribs widen and your body becomes a bit thicker. All of it in a progression from your tail to your shoulders: first at your hips, then your torso, then your shoulders, then your neck thickens and lengthens, a small dulap forming down the center of your neck of loose skin.
Then.... while perhaps only equally painful as the changes to your midsection, but so much more emotionally rending... your face is not spared. Your whole jaw rends forward, your very bones aching. It's impossible to tell how long it takes. But by the time you can open your eyes after the pain has subsided, you look down on a long, green snout.

However... when you finally do face a mirror... you'll find that the last memento of your parents on your body... your eyes.... have changed as well. Only the silver locket hanging around your neck remains to remind you of who you were, and them.

However... unlike the previous stage... this time despite how animal you look... there is no longer the appearance of being caught "inbetween" or deformed. There is a sense and appearance of finalty, and completion. And in that, almost a beauty.

Loose Yourself
(Amaya finishes her transformation...)

The day had gone by like any other. Playing in the entertainment room, watching a movie, grabbing a bite to eat, basking, whatever she could find to keep her mind occupied. But all day she felt even more antisocial then she normally did... so she stayed away from places when they had more then one person in them. But as the evening drew near, Amaya began to feel... off.

After dinner she went back to her duplex, thinking that it was the air conditioning that was causing her to feel so anemic... but even in the warmth and comfort of her room she couldn't get comfortable. She tried to sleep, to listen to music, take a bath, but nothing worked. The girl still felt sluggish and uncomfortable.

Then it started.

As Amaya tidied up her room, there was a stinging pang at the base of her tail. A tiny hiss escaped her mouth and she looked back to see what she might have caught it on... but she saw nothing. Instead she saw her already horribly long tail grow even longer.

"Ahhh... ahhhh... AHHHH!" Dropping to her knees, she forgot about what she had been doing and lay on her stomach on the floor. Her spine continued to pull, sending waves of pain up her spine and making her scream each time. Gritting her already sharp teeth, the teen did her best to simply claw at the rug and try to deal with the pain. All the while her mind screamed, telling her this was it. After everything was over then she'd be walking on all fours and having needles poked into every inch of her skin by the doctors before finally being killed.

Then a different pain accompanied her still growing tail even as the base got large enough that it seemed to fuse with the rest of her body and pushed down the shorts she wore. Amaya's insides shifted as her ribs grew, the two lumps that had once been her breasts vanishing completely. Her body spasmed, and her eyes went wide. It felt like her intestines were being pushed out of her mouth!

But it didn't even begin to let up. The girl's already slight figure vanished completely as her hips straightened with the rest of her body, her legs and arms seeming to shift ever-so-slightly so that she was capable of walking on all fours and two legs. Then her neck began to widden, making her choke and gag for breath. She took deep, ragged breaths and clawed at the floor, ripping up the carpet as she did so.

For a moment it seemed like it was going to stop... but it didn't. The pain carried to her face.

As her nose pushed out further she screamed, able to hear her own bones popping and growing. Blood trickled from both her nose and mouth as new teeth grew in to compensate for her larger jaw. She rolled onto her back, holding her face as if it would push it back in. Her now longer tail thrashed wildly, banging into her bedposts and a dresser, knocking over her family portrait and lamp.

Amaya finally succumbed to the pain, passing out... but her body didn't go limp as her skull continued to reform. Her brain was in distress, being moved and jostled when it wasn't supposed to be.

Her changing eyes flickered back and forth in her head as her body spasmed in a seizure, one of her clawed hands raking down her already torn shirt and drawing blood. Saliva ran from the corner of her mouth and onto the carpet next to her head... But eventually, her body stopped changing and thus stopped spasming.

Amaya lay fully changed near her bed, her eyes open but completely unconscious and bleeding.
