Armus giggled as Rhea licked her cheek. He was showing her such love ... how could she have thought that he was leaving? She laughed aloud as he licked her nose, then held him close and kissed his cheek.

"You are so sweet," she told him brightly, cuddling him close.

As he opened his mouth, she looked closely at the place where his tooth had come out. There was only a little bit of blood ... it seemed as though his tooth had been quite ready to come out.

She smiled, feeling much better. "Does it hurt?" she asked him, touching his lip just in front of the gap between his remaining teeth.

Corrah swallowed hardly, but it was getting hard to keep his smile from showing. If Ruran wasn't so hot-headed, he had the potential to be intelligent ...

Rhea giggled and was glad it seemed that his pack mother was happy again. He was happy then too.

When she poked his lip he shook his head. It didn't hurt at all or at least not too much. It had been ready to come out and he would have just kept trying to get it out one way or another.

He nuzzled under her head crawling up close to her. Still trying to show he would be there for her if she needed him.

Kanis slowly woke up and looked around. This was a bit odd she could not hear the wolf and as she opened her eyes she could see her sister looking worried, "What is wrong Aras?"

Ruran cried out and just jumped fully into the water diving under the surface his hands grasping for the fishes in his efforts one fish was flicked up on the shore.

Armus smiled warmly and hugged Rhea, heading back towards the girls.

Aras was still looking around worriedly and she was about to tell Kanis that they had been abandoned when she saw Armus and Rhea returning towards them. She sighed with relief and relaxed a bit, hugging Kanis tightly.

"Nothing," she replied, laying down again, still holding her sister close. "Nothing's wrong. Let's go back to sleep."

Corrah grinned inwardly at Ruran, though he was amazed the boy had managed to catch anything at all. Now he had only two worries: that the fish would flop back into the river before Ruran could kill it, and that the boy had lost the knife in the river.

He waited to see what Ruran would do.

Kanis was clearly a bit confused, "Well shouldn't we start heading back down to the meeting spot?" She allowed her sister to hug her and lay next to her. "I can piggy back you if your still tired Aras." she smiled at her sister

Ruran popped his head back and he was empty handed. He hit the water and crused the he reached under and grabbed the knife before he moved to try and catch a fish. He was completely clueless to the one he had accidently knocked ashore. "Stupid fish stay still!"

Aras shook her head, though she was grateful for her sister's offer.

"I will only make you more tired," she said firmly, "and I'm supposed to be training too. We can walk together, though, okay?"

Armus returned just then, Rhea in her arms, and knelt next to the two girls. "Did you have enough sleep?" she asked them softly, her voice tender. "You can rest more if you want ... though I would imagine your parents will be arriving any time now, if they haven't already."

Corrah laughed then, heartily and loudly, and since it seemed that Ruran was going to let the fish on the shore flop away again, he produced another knife from inside his robes and threw it at the fish, spearing it through the head.

The fish fell still after a moment, and Corrah stepped forward to pick it up.

Kanis looked at her sister then up at Armus, "We should get to our parents...we should not keep them waiting." She nodded it should not be too much farther should it? Though she wondered why Armus was babying the wolf so. He was a wild creature after all and should be allowed to return if he wanted.

Rhea cuddled against Armus but then moved from her arms to sit next to the girls. He would walk with them to help keep them going and he wanted to sniff and mark some trees....if he could figure out the belt and get it off.

Ruran didn't even hear the dagger or see Corrah moving he just continued chasing after fish. He slowly moved to fit on a rock and waited a minute to catch his breath. Fishing sucked!

Aras nodded her agreement and climbed slowly to her feet. She knew she was going to be sleeping the entire rest of the day once they got back home again, but that was fine.

Armus smiled at the girls. "Then let's go," she said crisply, leading them down the mountain once more.

Corrah squatted down to pick up the fish he had killed, deciding that Ruran needed to be calmed down before he hurt himself.

"Enough!" he barked as the boy sat to rest on a rock. "Come on, let's see about cooking this for you."

And he lifted the fish, holding it to show Ruran.

Kanis nods and started to walk following Armus. She could not wait to see her parents and Ruque. She wondered how they were doing and what they would think of her dirtiness. She laughed a bit.

Rhea walked between the girls and his pack mother his tail swaying though he dropped back to allow Aras to rest a hand on his small naked back that had a strip of fur that ended half way up his back.

Ruran turned and stared that the fished shocked, "Where did that stupid fish come from? I can't catch any of them knife or no knife!" He sighed. He was starting to hate this again. Stupid fire...stupid fish...stupid Corrah.

Aras smiled at Rhea gratefully and put one hand on his back. It wasn't much, but it did help her to feel more energetic. She ran her fingers along the ridge of fur that ended midway up his back. It was so soft ...

Corrah chuckled and held his hand out to take his knife back from Ruran.

"Believe it or not," he smiled in amusement, "you hit it up onto the bank and didn't notice. Technically, it is your fish ... even though I was the one to kill it. But come. Let's go back to where we were and start a fire again and cook it, and then you can eat."

And he straightened and turned away once more.

Rhea smiled softly as he felt the fingers starting to work threw his soft fur. It was a little odd when she brushed the fur the wrong way but it was nice to feel the gentle stroke and that he was helping one of his sisters out.

He lowered his head and gentle licked Aras' knee once then he lifted his head and continued to walk.

Kanis looked over at her sister and the wolf and wondered who was more found of Rhea, Armus or Aras. She laughed softly again and continued , "Did you say we were almost there Armus?"

Ruran sat in shock, "D..Did I? Stupid fish we got you!" he laughed and jumped back onto the shore handing the knife back to Corrah though it was clear he was sad to give up the weapon.

"Alright then I guess we will be meeting back with the others?"

Aras giggled softly. Rhea's tongue tickled ... but at the same time it warmed her and made her more alert.

Armus smiled at Kanis. "Yes, we're very close," she nodded. "It should just be a few more minutes, if you can wait that long."

Corrah's eyes sparkled with laughter as he put his knife away. "If they are there, then yes, otherwise we will feed ourselves and wait for them," he replied softly. "And now it is time for you to practice what you have been learning ... when we get back, I want you to make a small but hot fire that will burn quickly so that we can cook the fish in the coals."

Kanis nods, "Yes I think I can do it...and Aras seems to have enough energy now." She smirked and continued walking looking around..."

After a few minutes she smiled, "Armus...does three fallen logs in a certain pattern count as a landmark?" She could see three of the logs that made up part of the clearing.

Rhea walked slowly and calmly trying to keep Aras going. He was rather friendly and loved her soft touch. If he had been sitting or laying he would have been out when she touched him like that.

Though now he was starting to get a small problem he needed to relieve himself and he knew that with the clothes he would make a mess. He wondered how he could get out of them again.

Ruran sighed, "I just know how to make it not smoke." he had forgot that Corrah had taught him other fires for the moment because he had been day dreaming too much. He nods, "I will try...so are we checking the clearing first then?"

Armus laughed. "Yes, that does indeed count as a landmark, Kanis, very good!" she said brightly. "Very, very good! You're such a bright girl." She giggled. "And that of course means that we are here, so go ahead and relax. Now we just wait."

Aras looked relieved at Armus's words, and she gave the fur on Rhea's back one final stroke before lying on the ground next to one of the logs. There, she curled up in a ball and was asleep almost immediately.

Corrah wasn't surprised. He had known that Ruran hadn't been paying attention. But, as always, there was a lesson in this.

"Now you know why it is important to know how to make different kinds of fires," he said firmly. "It may be boring but it will save you time, energy, and at times even sanity to know what you are doing. We will be preparing it in the clearing. It isn't far now."

Rhea tilted his head to the side and rasied a brow, why was his sister already asleep again? He looked at her and nudged her side with his face. Was she sick?

He would find out in a mintue but right now he needed to get out of these 'clothes' he walked over to his mother and sat down pulling on the belt in front of her.

Kanis smiled brightly and she was so proud of the compliment that she ran into the field and spun around. It was almost like she got all her energy back. She smiled and then as if just remember ran over to go look at the near by ant hill.

Ruran winced and for once looked like he almost regretted his actions, "Yes sir...I will try to pay more attention in the future." He sighed and followed Corrah trying to remember what it was to get a small hot fire...or how.

Aras stirred slightly in her sleep at Rhea's touch, but since he left her right away again she simply went back to sleep.

Armus watched Rhea thoughtfully. There was a method to his actions ... it wasn't the wild desire to rid himself of the makeshift clothes ... it was as if he was trying to tell her something.

Well, what else would it be? The kid had to pee.

"All right," she murmured, kneeling down and loosening the belt. "Go ahead. But you're getting it on again afterwards."

Corrah nodded, satisfied. "Good. A quick, hot fire will also help to dry you out if you happen to get wet ..."

He raised one eyebrow and looked down at the soaking boy.

"Which will save your life in the winter time, when you could easily die of the cold even if you are dry."
