She smiled and nodded at Blaze. Glad he was here at this weak moment. Yes the one missing is who she wanted to fall into and feel safe but it wasn't to be just yet. "You are right Blaze." Her voice perking up and the happy face returning in time. "Have you noticed any bigger game in the woods since the five finger place is gone?" Moving on to something a bit more exciting like hunting might make her mind stop talking to her.

Blaze grinned, happy to have been able to make her feel better. **I usually am.** At the mention of hunting, he shrugged. **I have not seen anything, I do not go into the forest much, after that trehopper. Starsong might have seen something. Why, hungry for something other than fish?**

The young elf laughed softly and shook her head. "No. I would like something softer to sleep on then rocks and dirt in my den." It made that birdsong laughter spill out as she thought about Blaze and his time in the woods after the frog. "The trees in these woods are such a mix that I am at times reminded of my home and at other times feel like I am in another world. I do miss the light rains we got nearly every day in the evergreen though." She gave Blaze a wide eyed smile, "Oh, if you ever want someone to go into the woods so you don't touch anything or taste anything I would go. We should all know our surroundings better." She turned her gaze to the water and smiled fondly, "I even would like it if Crosscurrent would spend more time on land then he does. Him being the only water elf and all in our group."

**Are you suggesting I go get him, and keep him company?** He looked back at the water that had almost killed him a few moments ago. **Perish the thought. If any of us are going to sprout fins and gills, it will be you.** For a moment he imagined dancer a fish like Cross. It wasn't too hard. **But you are right. I wonder why he stays out there.****As for skins, I would not mind having a couple myself. But soft sand or branches from those needle-trees will have to do for now. Besides, how would we tan them?** He yawned, the sunshine making him lazy, and the light orange hair that was his defining mark glowing in the sun.

A brief 'pulse' of Sending from the wavedancer to Dancer, although it was open to any. Just a curious, humored feeling in reply to her earlier Sending. But it was somewhat distant. A little pre-occupied but ready to be distracted if it was interesting.

Dancer opened her mouth to speak and it just hung there a moment as Crosscurrents send pinged in her mind. *Come enjoy the sun with Blaze and I. When you are gone I am lonely.* Her open send was warm and filled with over exaggerated loneliness in a playful manner. Yes she missed him but was not trying to keep him by her side every moment he was awake. She knew he longed to find even one other Wave Dancer and it hurt his heart each time he didn't.

Blaze held onto the pulse and returned in a locksend, the power he put behind it to make shure it traveled the distance would make it noticable but still unreadable to Dancer, if she wasn't too jaded by now to the heat of his sends. **A little bit more than just lonely.** His send carried a bit of releif, and even less of an if-you-don't-come-soon warning.

Another open-Sending, of mischievous amusement followed by a mild sense of being too busy to come. A mental laughter that drifted off as his attention shifted.

Blaze's eyes rolled and he looked over his shoulder back up the beach, his expression quirking as if he'd just been told a particularly corny joke. He sighed quietly to himself. "I had a feeling I didn't like that chuckle-headed sea-jackal." Settling back down on the sand, he hoped slightly that Dancer would just let him doze off and forget about the entire swimming fiasco.

She pouted slightly as the request was polightly declined but hoped he was enjoying himself in whatever he was doing. Turning back to Blaze she smiled. "Oh well I guess he isn't feeling social today."

**Obviously.** Blaze was beggining to feel the effects of the hot sun, and his sends lost their sharp edges. **Wanna sleep for a while. Real nice here... Warm...** Blaze laid down alongside the sunbaked log, pressing his back against its rough surface, and pulling up a mound of sand for a pillow. He placed his hat over his face, and sent again, this one little more than a yawning whisper. **Yer invited.**

The temptation to make Blaze blush again was to great to say no to his invite for rest. Dancer scooted over next to him and placed her head on his shoulder near his neck and pushed his arm out so it either went around her or lay in the sand. "A nap in the sunlight sounds wonderful." Her voice was soft and he could feel her breath in his ear. She placed a hand on his chest and closed her eyes. *Rest well Hot Head* She touched his mind lightly. The send was lazy with the beating heat but still held mischief in it.

Blaze wasn't quite shure why he had added the last part, but he had. He let his arm settle over her, and sent out a gentle pulse of acceptance, then drifted off to sleep.

Dewpaw walked back onto the beach, deciding there really wasn't anything else to do. She was also amazed by the vast deep, even if it scared her. She scanned teh water for Dancer adn Blaze, worried when she didn't see them, until she spotted something in teh sand. She grinned when she realized who it was, laying together. "I knew it was a good idea to leave them alone," she giggled, turning to leave the beach once more. She could wait and swim later, nighttime would be fun.

(After the storm, continued from a fight in "Day 4 and the end of the rain")
The blow to his ears caused him enough pain to blind him for a few seconds, the thud of his heart echoing dully in his skull. He shook his head drowsily, and let go of her shoulders, fingering his aching ears tenderly, worried that she might have done more damage than he expected. Then the shock wore off, and he realized what had just hapened. but by then he was on his back again, and she was opon him.
(1 he just sits and feels hurt, 10 he goes nuts.)
As her hands fastened around his throat, the firestarter snarled, and cuffed her heavily across the cheek, but nowhere near as hard as he could have. **If that's how you want to play it, Dancer's going to have her hands full of bruises.** His playfull grin turned wicked, he dug his thumbs painfully into her shoulders, smashing tendons against bone.
