I'm just saying that highschool kids are going to do that stuff anyway. But it's safer to do things like pot and alcohol (IN MODERATION! ONLY ON THE WEEKENDS! SAFETLY!!!!), than crystal meth, cocaine, or crack, etc.
Honestly though? It's safer to go with pot than alcohol. Potheads are just lazy and sit on a couch eating cheetos and watching TV. Alcoholics think they're invincible and would prefer to drive around until someone gets killed or the car gets totaled or both.
The best thing to do is to stay away from all that "naughty" stuff until you're out of highschool and you're responsible for yourself. Then if you go and drink and drive, smoke a crack rock, or spend an entire weekend with a king size bag of chips and an entire season of family guy, it's on your own time and your parents don't get slapped for your wrong doings.
But HS peeps will do that stuff whether it's condoned or not, regardless of laws and policing by parents, teachers, and cops. I'm just saying that it's better to be a worthless pothead or get drunk in the safety of your own home than to go out and get hooked on heroin, or something else that it's d**n near impossible to get off of. A drunk teenager sobers up, gets grounded, and doesn't do dumb stuff again. A teen hooked on crack or meth or ecstasy ends up a junkie, getting VD, pregnant, or in jail.
So. The moral of the story is: Dew, don't get caught doing bad stuff, and don't do bad stuff you won't be able to control. And don't get pregnant!!
And *I* have NO problems with cussing. I cuss like a sailor with tourette syndrome! I seriously have to censor the **** outta myself when I'm here! wink
And caffiene's not a drug. It's a requirement for optimal functioning.

@Dancer: I love ya babe! And we'll just disagree - I just know that HS kids are going to experiment with that stuff anyhow, and I just want Dew to be safe about it. But then I'm not a mommy so I'd wager you feel different 'cause you're not just talking about kids - you're thinking about YOUR kids.
@Blaze: Well, that's true. EVERYTHING is a drug. An altering substance would be sugar, water, or whatever I'm having for dinner. Sure, you need sugars and water and food, but they alter you (from dehydrated to not, from hungry to not). Breathing, or breathing at high altitude will alter your state just as well - but thin air is not classified as a drug, neither is sugar or water.
I was referring more to the *connotation* associated with the term *drug*, as it's usually referring to bad things that make you sell your momma's TV for a fix, NOT to putting sugar on a bowl of cereal. And caffeine's no more a drug (for me) than a breath of air or a bite of a sammich.
Mmmm. Sammich.

You guys make funny parents. Look, now I have three moms and three dads. YAY!!!
First of all, anything I have to smoke is already out the window. I have RADS, a severe form of asthma. So smoke... not good. All my friends that smoke, respectfully don't do it around me. Secondly, alcohol, aslo out the window. I tried wine/champagne for New years and never liked the taste. Also, in Germany, there isn't really a drinking age, so my 'rents let me try some beer. Again, never liked the taste. And I'm repulsed by anyone who is drunk. I hate "altered" people, well not really "altered" people, but rather people WHEN they are "altered". lol. Thirdly, (there is an 'ly' at the end of that right?) I get high naturally. I don't need help getting a natural high or spacing out (which seem to be the only things drugs are good for.) So, my new found parents, you have no need to worry about me. Oh and about the pregnant thing, never had a boyfriend. Haven't really gotten into dating. no idea why. it probably has something to do with being a tomboy, so most of my friends are guys. it seems wierd to date my best friends. lol. So, me getting pregnant will have to wait til at least after college. Does that cover everything?
I'm glad to know you all worry about little me! I guess it pays to be the cub sometimes. And yes, I always have you guys.
Ooo! Guess what. I found a town called Holt! I think its in Kansas, possibly Missouri. But I'm pretty sure Kansas. isn't that cool!

::Claps:: BRAVO AND GOOD FOR YOU!!! Kids should never be told it's ok to experiment with gateway drugs. Pot might not kill you or anyone but it kills your brain. EVERYONE I know who does it is nice but stupid. I grew up and made it through high school without experimenting with anything. xp Heck I was 21 before I even had sex and am still with the only man I ever had sex with. I was 26 when we had our first child. Here we are 14 years married and going strong. Morals and the right path have nothing to do with God but within you... Be better then the fools who offer you this and that... Make a man wait longer then a week before you go to bed with him... Hell mine waited a year... LOL I was abused sexualy as a child so I was very stand offish with sex... If anyone wants to talk about anything I am very open and honest aand more then happy to talk... I will stop my ramblings now because I am agrivated and need a cup of tea... lol

Isn't there always some drama between Dancer and Blaze. It is funny to read though.
TEA! I love tee! Chamomile (spelled that wrong) is my fav. and it helps me sleep.
I'm a humanist deist, well more a humanist pagan. So Morals are seperate from religion. But even morals have nothing to do with not doing drugs. I simply don't like the idea of anything screwing with my mind. I like logic, and drugs don't fit logically. Neither do one-night stands and getting roaring drunk. I see no logic in it. Of course, I'm odd, according to most. Haven't felt the urge to try anything. But my friends say i seem high often enough, especially after soccer or when we had this big party at the bowling alley. lol. That was fun!

Yay for new threads!
And don't get me wrong - I agree that experimentation isn't always a good thing. But if I had to pick something to experiment with, I'd stick with things that wouldn't be physically addictive... My brother is a recovering addict and still in jail, so I have a tendency to stress that if you MUST do drugs, PLEASE do the less harmful ones. Because out-and-out demanding it not be done usually leads to lying.
But anyway, I'm glad to hear you've got your head on straight Dew! And I was also always the tomboy and didn't do any sexy stuff until I'd gotten into college either. Just have fun whatever way you feel best about having fun. And that's only a problem if there's babies or crack involved!!
Worry about that school stuff, try and learn everything you can so that you can do whatever it is you want to do when you grow up. Between now and then, just don't jump off a cliff, rob a bank, smoke crack or get pregnant and you'll have plenty of fun!
And yeah, I think we're pretty much all here if you ever need to talk about stuff... Adjusting to a new school is rough, so if you ever need to get anything off your chest, we can start another new thread!
Ooh! And maybe you can recruit some of your new friends to play with us here too!!!

I'm used to the new school part. Its part of being a military brat. I don't know how well recruiting will go though... it seems to be hard to find EQ fans. Not many run around howling for their wolf bond to come to them... lol.
Man, i was planning on robbing a bank this next summer. i thought it was okay to rob the bank so long as I don't get caught.
YAY! I get to go make an appointment for my permit tomorrow!! Can't wait!
