Upon seeing his attack fail, Manuke spat on the ground and gritted his teeth really hard. The fact that his opponent was so happy pissed him off. He started making a low growl as he got ready for the next attack.

It was becoming readily apparent that Manuke's and Zero's moods were inversely proportional. As Manuke got more and more irate Zero's spirit went up. Manuke's growl was like music in Zero's ears. 'Going to win, going to win.' sang a little voice in Zero's head. This was so much better than his ill fated fight with Kiba. Z readied his staff once more and took a step forward. With no sound escaping his lips he made a swing for Manuke's shoulder.

Manuke wasn't happy. His fury was so built up that it gave him a headache. This got him even more upset. He lifted his staff to deflect the incoming blow. C'mon.....C'mon..... he thought. His headache disappeared and he put on a confident grin. He started mumbling I'm gonna win....I'm gonna win... to himself. He even let out a brief warcry. Either he was really optimistic or really crazy. Or both. Manuke wasn't going to lose this one. He was no longer mad because he was so sure that he would win, he couldn't be mad at what seemed to him to be an impossibility. His finger slipped, though, and he dropped his staff just in time to get hit in the shoulder. Crap... he thought.

Zero could feel his head clearing as his staff connected with Manuke's shoulder. Zero could feel all the dark clouds of annoyance and his grasp on the possibility of failure was starting to slip away. Even his sinuses were beginning to clear up at the advent of his assured victory. He hadn't felt this good in ages. He took a quick step back, brining his staff into a defensive position. He widened his stance a bit, giving him an increased possibility to dodge and maneuver in case the next attack would be tricky to block. He almost fell on his butt as he realized that the sand under his feet made his stance more than a bit impractical.

Manuke wasn't ready to accept defeat. He spat on the sand with a wide smile. He was too naive to give up hope. He rubbed his shoulder and spat again. I'm not gonna lose this time he thought. Cold sweat ran down his back. He picked up his staff and got into a ready position, his eyes focused on his target. At the sound of a desperate battle cry, his staff swung upwards, powered by all of his childish hopes and confidence.

Zero's smile broke into a bit of a grimace as Manuke spat multiple times. Spitting was such an ugly habit. Unsanitary as well. However he refused to let Manuke's clear disregard for certain social graces distract him from the fight. Zero knew he was winning and was not about to let his lead disappear. He did a bit of a fumbling step as Manuke swung at him. The sand was even more pliable than he thought. He either had to go down on his knee and then block or risk blocking in the bad position and then fixing his stance. He decided on the later. He quickly brought his staff into a position to block Manuke's upward swing. His block succeded and as the staffs smacked against each other Z took a side step which put him into a much better position.

[damn..forgot to post training info in last post!]
Manuke stared blankly at his staff with a very dopey smile. My attack.....Was blocked? He thought. The smile slowly faded away as the idea dawned upon him that he was losing. He rubbed his head to try to fight back any rage, but to no avail. That once confident smile had turned into an infuriated snarl and his knuckles had turned white from gripping his weapon too hard. He would have to beat Z somehow.....

Ginsei' ships pulled into the harbor to dock. The captain stated earlier that "if this island was not friendly he would take off if Ginsei was on or not." the cold sea air was brisk to say the least on the Mengchong. Ginsei jumped to the dock to tie the boat down. "At least the moon is out." gensei thought as he caught the rope that was thrown at him from the boat. Gensei thought every step thew as he tied and inforced slipknot. wrap the rope around the the dock stake three times, throw a bow over and threw the hole, pull the end through the bow, and fasten if needed. Ginsei repeated this two more time before he started to walk to a little shack to see if they were welcome at this island. trading cargo boats are frawned apawn on so island in the area and it being is not a good thing either.

The old man continued his journey across the chilly shoreline of Shimagakure, having finally realized why he had made his way to the beach. He had misplaced a pocket watch on the day before and the shoreline was the last place that he had left unchecked. His memory was fading, so he didn't have the slightest clue as to where it could be, but something told him that it was near. A few people were scattered about the shoreline, but the man had become lazy in his age, so he decided to find the nearest person he could to request for some help. He spotted a large blur near one of the docks and after a moment of squinting, realized that it was a trading vessel that was being tied down. Most of the merchants that the man had met in his many travels had been quite friendly and helpful, so he decided that asking one of them to assist him couldn't hurt. He approached one of the younger looking passengers who had just finished fastening a few ropes and addressed him with a smile and a little wave. "Hello there lad, my name is Professor Araiguma. I was wondering if you could help me find my watch."

Between his thoughts of victory and tearing down Manuke, Zero noticed it was getting dark. He wondered when the teacher would ask them to stop. 'Oh well, not much to worry about. I'll cut this cur down anytime now.' Zero thought with a smirk across his face. His smirk shrank a bit when he thought over his last thought. 'Since when do I call people curs? And how long have I been thinking in an accent.' He asked himself. His inner voice had a slight but noticeable foreign air to it. 'Not the time for asking myself questions.' He thought again, a little louder. He returned his mind to the fight at hand. He relished the snarl on Manuke's face. He gripped his staff tightly and swung it at his opponent's torso. He wanted this fight over soon.

Rokugi slipped his feet of from the ship somewhat dragging his soles on the wooden planks of the dock. A small screech could be heard as the sand and wood brushed together with every step the boy took.He lifted his head a little bringing into his line of sight the shore of the island where from now on he would be set to live.HIs heart was punding hard against his chest and he seemed to be breathing deeply as he got ever so near to the sand. He had barely arrived and he already was nervouse and sad missing his mother but he was not about to turn back now.
He walked all the way to the end of the dock where it met with the sand, looking at the floor all the time as he walked waiting for someone to come meet him. He didnt know what to expect of this since it had been his stepfather the one who managed to get him to train. He turned one last time to look at the sea behind him thinking about his home. Pulling his long white sleeves back and brushing his hands together for heat he utter some words to himself. "Ill make you proud mom" and simply turned around. You couldnt see his face or his eyes because of his hair and the neck of the shirt he was wearing but once in a while you could get a glimpse of his Orange ringed eyes when the sea wind whipped his hair one way or the other, yet it always fell back into place. He knew no one in the island so his best hope was that he would find young Shinobi's like himself soon.
