Mec wasn't quite sure what was being said, but she had said she was fast, so she supposed it was a good thing. With a grin on her tiny maw, the filly followed the mare suit, still attemtping to get at that mane of hers. It was so long, and wavy, and she just wanted to chew on it! That wasn't bad, was it? Hmm, so why wasn't the mane letting her catch it-
Oh! There it is! She hadn't noticed they had turned around, but she did know that she could reach it now, and quickly jumped forward to snatch it between her teeth. With a good chew, careful not to tug too hard on the strands she had caught, the filly pricked her ears at the bae's words once more. Dropping the mane as she opened her mouth to speak she was surprised to find that the strands still stuck to the side of her mouth. Hmm, that was odd. "Yay, I can't wait to tell Scabbers" she giggled, though quite awkwardly as she tossed her head about, trying to rid her muzzle of the now sticky strands of mane.

The mare laughed, hardly noticing that the little filly had managed to get her mane until the Jala spoke. "Ah'm sure he'll be vereh pleased with yeh," she said with a nod, eying the little filly struggling with the mare's yellow mane. The Bae laughed again and tossed her head, her mane flying away from the filly onto the other side of Elsie's neck, and the mare continued onward.
She thought for a moment, then increased her pace a bit, surpassing the little filly at a slow canter. "C'mon, sweetie! Yer almost there!" Hopefully Mec would run as fast as she could go and be tired. If not, she might have to resort to another sleep-inducing technique. She figured Scabbers wouldn't mind the little filly sleeping all night.

Once rid of the strands of mane, the Jala filly glanced up to the bae once more, trying to find where it had gone too. Hmm, magic maybe? Scaning the top part of Miss Elsie's neck she found the ridge of the mane, and figured it must have been tossed over to the other side. Aw, she could have chewed on it more.
That didn't stop the filly from catching the increase in speed though. What was this? Well, Mec didn't like being slower then anyone else, and this was certainly a blantent challenge by Miss Elsie. With a small snort the paintaloosa foal dug into the rest of the reserves to put into her legs, wishing to blow right past her and prove just how fast she could be. Though, such a thing was quite difficult, as she was already fairly tired.
"Are we there yet Miss Elsie?" the filly called, stretch her neck out front to try and get past her a bit more.

She couldn't help but laugh again; foals were so cute, this one especially. "Almost there, sweetie," she said with a bob of her head. This was good; the filly was using up as much energy as possible to surpass the grown Bae, which meant she'd be fairly tired when they stopped.
"There he is!" She said suddenly, motioning with her muzzle towards the brown Zrun known as Scabbers. "Almost, suga'!" And they were almost there, and it seemed to the mare that Mecriana was tiring quickly. That was a good thing, she figured. Once she figured they were close enough, she put on the breaks, coming to a slow stop by the little familiar. "Here we are," she said with a nod, looking at the filly now.

Phew, it was good they were almost there, for not only was she getting tired she was starting to get bored. Running was great, but now she wanted to do something else. What though? Play a game? She wasn't too tired for that was she? Pfft, of course not! Though hearing that they were close to Scabbers the filly tossed her little head in excitement. "Scabbers! I see Scabbers!" she giggled to herself. Though oddly enough, she didn't quite stop when the Bae did. Oh no, Mec went scrambling all the way up to Scabbers, to the point the Zrun was about to panic, and merely lept over the little creature as he was laying down. "Scabbers!"
He had just found the perfect place to rest for the night, near some brush and cover, and not near any full grown Nequus that might prove troublesome in the morning. Though, he did twist an ear around when he heard the commotion coming up behind him, and nearly scrambled to his hooves as Mec almost came barreling into him. Of course, it didn't help the poor creatures nerves as she went leaping over. "Mec! You silly filly, aren't 'cha tired?" it certainly didn't seem that way. Yipes.

Oh dear, this could prove problematic. Not only was she not tired, it seemed she was up for more fun. Hmm... Maybe a good story would work better later on. Perhaps another game. Hmm....
"Hey sweetie, d'yeh wanna play another game?" She asked, ears perked, and watched the little filly curiously. But what game? Not hide-and-seek, the poor girl couldn't count very well at all. Maybe... "How about we play tag?" Surely that would tired the little filly out more, wouldn't it? She certainly hoped so, they all needed to get some sleep at some point tonight. In the hopes that the little foal would agree, the small mare pranced about Mecriana in a circle. "C'mon, it'll be lotsa fun!"

Ooooh, a game? Mecriana liked the sound of that, in fact she liked it so much she tried to rear up on her hind hooves in excitement. Though, the filly was only able to manage tossing her head up and raising off her front legs ever so slightly, a bit too tired for rearing. "I'd love to play a game", she spoke, flicking her little stub of a tail around.
Though at the mention of tag her tail did stop flicking, as a sort of odd look crossed her face. For a moment Mec studied the mare as she pranced around, before, for the first time, speaking rather suspiciously. "Miss Elsie, do you promise not to run away if we play tag? I mean, like... not coming back kinda running away?" It was a bit of an odd question, but there was a reason why the Paintaloosa filly had only Scabbers at her side.

Oh good, it seemed like she would agree to it. She stopped however when she detected the suspicious tone in the filly's voice, and stood in front of Mec. What did she mean? The mare looked thoroughly and utterly confused, wondering why anyone would run away from such an adorable filly. "Now why in the world would ah do somethin' like that? Why would anyone run away from yeh? Yer cute as anythin', why would ah run away if we played tag? If ah wanted to run away from yeh ah woulda left when ah suggested a run before." She hoped that would reassure the filly that she wouldn't flee from her, though she still couldn't understand why anyone would run away from her. Perhaps something happened when she was younger, and someone, maybe multiple people, abandoned her after suggesting an innocent game of tag?

The filly wasn't quite sure if she trust the mare's words, but she had nice so far, right? She hadn't run away earlier, but maybe that was because the filly was too fast to let that happen? Mec honestly wasn't sure, but bobbed her head in agreement, not wanting to talk about what happened. "Okay Miss Elsie, but I'm it first", she spoke finally, allowing a grin to form on her muzzle once again. Perhaps a good game of tag would do her well, so she hunkered down slightly and wiggled her little stubby tail.
Hmm, Mec had told him briefly about what happened in their first encounter, so it was a subject that Scabbers wasn't quite willing to extend upon if Mex herself wasn't. But ah well, a good game of tag would do her good, perhaps even teach her that it was just a game, and not some cheap trick to get away from her. The idiot stallion, Scabbers couldn't quite imagine just what parent would run off like that. But perhaps Nequus were just like that. Odd creatures.

Ah, there was the smile again. The mare offered the foal a grin and she bobbed her head, flicking her tail. "A'right then," she said, hunkering down a bit herself. "That means yeh have t' get me first, ah think." She wasn't entirely sure, it was a long time since she had played tag with a foal.
So, assuming she had to go off first, she tossed her head and sprung away in a trot, figuring the paintaloosa would catch her rather easily. She still didn't understand why the little filly was so suspicious of a simple game of tag, but figured it was due to a past experience, from which all suspicions spread and grow. So, she figured it was best to show the foal she had no intention of leaving at all until they had said good-bye. Poor dear, she was such a cute little foal, too. Did Scabbers know? Perhaps he did, as her constant companion, but then again, she might not be too keen to tell anyone. That was understandable, the small mare figured.

Despite the subject matter, Mec seemed to forget her suspcion easily enough as she watched the bae mare start off. With a wide grin the filly had sprung into action, or at least as much action as she had left in her, towards the fleeing bae. Hmm, but how to catch her? She was moving so fast already, and Mec wasn't too keen on trying to catch up in one big burst like she had before, not after how tired she had become afterwords. So, to help her out a bit, the filly stretched her neck forwards, trying to get as much distance between them eaten up as quickly as she could.
"Better hurry Miss Elsie, here I come!" she giggled despite her pace, making sure to keep up with the mare's strides as best she could. That is, until she got to the point where keeping up wasn't nearly enough. With a small snort the filly pushed her legs into further action, straining her neck out further as she hoped to at least tag the mare as she tried to actually catch up now.

The mare laughed and tossed her head, continuing to trot. "Yeh wan' me to hurry up?" She asked, looking at Mec from the corner of her eye. Well, it seemed the filly was having a hard enough time trying to catch her as it was, but still... "Okay!" She called, lengthening her strides very slightly to go a tad faster.
It had been so long since she'd been able to play with a foal. Usually she only got to stand off to the side and watch them play with others or their parents; it was such a treat to be able to play with Mecriana. That thought brought back another; who would abandon such an adorable little filly? Elsie tossed her head as if to throw the thought out. It did no good thinking on such things she didn't know everything about, and it did no good to worry over them, either. So she pushed the thoughts from her mind and she looked back at the filly chasing her, offering her a grin. "C'mon, yeh can do it, sweetie!"

Hey, Miss Elsie was going faster now? Well, Mec gave another little snort, already struggling to keep up as it is, and urged her thin legs to go faster yet. For you see, she hadn't exactly figured out that legenthening her strides would make her go even faster, but she was still young, and such things had to be learned over time. "I'm.... gonna.... getcha Miss Elsie!" the filly giggled again, though at the same time trying to breathe. It was such hard thing, running, but fun nonetheless, and Mec wasn't willing to give up just yet.
Once more she had begun her slow advance on the mare, outstretching her neck to get rid of some of the distance between them. She would have kept on running, but had found out early on that leaping like a boost to her speed. Gathering herself on her next stride, Mec had taken a quick jump forward, which could have counted as stretching her strides, but again she hadn't figured that out yet. Least to say, it gave her the boost she needed to reach out and tap the mare on the hip. With a whinny of joy the filly shook her head about in an unruly manner, before wheeling around and trying to escape the distance Miss Elsie could reach her with. "You're IT now Miss Elsie", she chimed, quite happily.

The mare laughed and tossed her head, feeling the slight tap on her flank so she slowed down, looking towards the filly as she sprung away. The mare laughed again, trotting off after Mec. "Oh yes ah will, Mecriana!" She teased.
It was quite easy to catch up to the paintaloosa filly, but Elsie didn't try to tag her just yet. It was much more fun to stay just behind her, where she could reach out and tag her at any moment. "Better hurry up, suga', or ah'm gonna get yeh!" The Bae mare called to Mecriana, urging her to go faster. The faster she went, the more energy she would burn, and hopefully the sooner she would fall asleep. It was still early in the evening, true, but it was high time for all foals to be asleep.

Now all Mec had to do was try and outrun the bae mare, but unfortunatly that was a bit harder then she had at first suspected. Not only was she pulling all the speed out of her that she could, but the bae had already caught up and was probably able to touch her by now. Snorting at the realization the filly tried her best to think of something, anything that could save her from being tagged. She was tired, that was for sure, and she knew she wouldn't be able to run for very long after this.
Scanning the area, the filly caught sight of Scabbers once more and she quickly angled off towards the Zrun. "Scabbers is safe!" she called back towards Miss Elsie, now pouring the last of her reserves into her little legs. She had to make it to Scabbers, and it seemed however fast she seemed to go, the mare just kept on coming. Oh, almost there! Almost there! Mec was just about to make it, she was sure.
