She would not squee. 'Twould not be proper.
The corners of Evelyn's lips tilted downwards, meant as an expression of sorrow and understanding but coming off more as a sensual pout. "It is saddening that your friendship was ruined by such a thing..." How horrible would that be? To have a friend, a best friend, one with whom you could share everything and not be afraid of being shunned... and then face rearing children and see your friendship crumple as the foals grew older?
She had forgotten the rain; she had been drawn in by his simple words and blunt honesty.
She cast a quick glance around, wondering where he had in mind... if anyplace in particular. "Somewhere dry? As tempting as that sounds, I do not believe such a place could be found..." Her eyes held questions in their depths.

If she would had squeeded anyways, Bliss would only be even more confused. To have a mare squeel for something random was one thing, but to have a mare squeel after something he said, was another. What in the world would make a mare squee?
The dark stallion gave her a genuine smile when she tried to comfort him, it hadn't exactly worked the way any normal soquili would take something like it, though. Bliss did like the fact that she was sorry for what happened to him, but it wasn't as though she could fix it, was it? Milkshake was probably never coming back...and he'd have to get on with his life someway or another. Hopefully with someone else by his side, and not alone. If he were to be alone, it would only prove Bairn right. No, he wouldn't let that happen.
Bairn wasn't always right, and Bliss figured that out on his own. Bairn was just angry. Perhaps angry that Bliss had such a good life? "Thanks." The stallion mumbled after a while, letting the subject drop after that.
"Well, uh..." He began, his own purple eyes scanning their surroundings. There didn't seem to be anywhere close, but that didn't mean they couldn't walk to get somewhere dry. As much as Bliss hated the rain, he really needed to get out of there. "How about a cave? Or in the forest? It doesn't rain as hard in the forest."

Her mind moved on to other things, following his cue.
Wouldn't the rainfall in the forest be dirty? Well... the rain had been falling long enough to cleanse the leaves of most dirt and knock down that which would tumble to the ground... perhaps it would not be so bad. But she would much prefer a cave. Caves provided shelter from even the smallest droplets of water, and in doing so would give their coats the opportunity to dry.
While she had payed it no mind, the cold had not bothered her. Now, the never ending wetness seemed almost like a plague, unrelenting and persistent.
"A cave would be most welcomed." She looked to him to chose a direction they would head to find the promised shelter.

If the rainfall in the forest was really supposed to be dirty, well...he'd have no idea. He'd have wandered into the forest all happy and what-not, and she would not have told him how icky it was in there when it was wet, either. Chances are, after that, he'd never find out about the nasty rain until it ended, but by then he would be too dirty to do anything about it.
So, Bliss, unknowingly, was glad that Evelyn shot down the idea of the forest in her mind.
But the dark stallion knew of the protection that caves gave them, because of what happened with Milkshake. The morning of their reunion, after not seeing eachother forever-they ran in the rain for hours until they ended up in a cave. They spent the night together and well...
...Soqui and Vanilla Swirl were born shortly after.
He would have forgotten about that night if he wanted to, but in some twisted way, he didn't want to. It was his first time being with a female 'in that way' and it was almost special. Even if it was with Milkshake...
The stallion watched Evelyn's gaze focuse on him, and at first he liked the fact that she stared-not knowing what for, he just liked it. But quickly afterwards, Bliss started to trott off behind him, towards the darker area of the sky. If he remembered correctly, and he did, cave's were always dark. Darkness equaled shelter, then apparently. Right?

Evelyn saw a flicker of memory flash across the stallion's eyes, but was not able to catch any hints as to what the memory had been of. She smiled unsurely, waiting for Bliss to sort out whatever thoughts were running about his mind. She was pleased that it did not take him too long.
He had chosen a direction, and she would follow.
Her hooves made slight sucking noises as the mud expressed it's unwillingness to let her go. A slight frown formed upon her face, doing nothing to mar her beauty but doing everything to add to her generally disgruntled appearance. A light rain or early morning dew added a mist of allure to any ground, but heavy rain like this churned the dirt and created a displeasing amount of mud.
She trotted off after him, stepping carefully so as to avoid flinging dirt upon the stallion's coat. Her lavender eyes fixed trustingly upon his form; he seemed to have a clear destination in mind.
She only hoped that there were no... other... creatures where they were headed.

Ack, mud. The darkened stallion didn't pay too much attention to the terrain he was walking on, nor the fact that his hooves made the same squishing noise with every step. He was much too determined to lead her to a dry spot, like he promised. If it had been any other rainy day, and he had been by himself, his attention would have definitely been focused on the ground.
Mud was just so messy, and disgusting.
Light purple eyes consentrated on the dark clouds ahead his legs trotting quickly as if he forgotten that Evelyn was behind him, as the two of them neared a part in the field that looked to be leading in a path. Aha!
So, excited that his random plan of action had worked, the stallion whipped around and opened his mouth to the mare and rejoice, but then something occured to him.
They had just met, and had not exchanged names. Since when did he ever let something like that happen?! "Uh...miss! Look! A path!" He giggled lightly and took off running in the direction, happy to have found something by himself, for once.
He'd ask the mare her name in a proper manner, when the two of them weren't wet.

Evelyn found her own emotions rise with his. She felt happy because he had expressed such joy in his discovery of the path. She liked the way his eyes twinkled when...
Miss?
Miss... Evelyn's head was already half-turned to see this mystery mare whom the stallion had called Miss, but she halted before her neck was twisted about all the way. She cantered after him, her gait smooth and steady as her mind wandered.
He didn't know her name. She didn't know his.
It seemed inconceivable, this lapse of manners. How had conversation come to pass when they had not even exchanged the basic courtesies of letting one's name be known?
Here she was, following a stallion who seemed almost akin to a long-time friend... and she didn't even know his name.

He kept right on going until he reached the end of the path. And, much to his utter pleasure, a cave stood exactly where he thought it would be. A grin was placed on the stallion's face as he turned his head to see if the mare was still following him. She was!
Oh, what joy! Bliss nudged his head into the cave and looked around. It was pretty dark, and with the pouring rain, it was very cold but it was dry. It would do, until the rain passed.
"Isn't this great?" He questioned, happiness flowing through is voice. The last time he remembered being this happy...was...was...
..Was when he found Milkshake for the second time. Oh, that was the most amazing feeling, but then he lost it just as quickly. "Alright, so...I'm sorry. My name is Bliss I should have said that earlier. What's yours?"

Evelyn could not help but utter a small sigh of relief; the stallion's instincts had held true, and they had arrived at the promised cave.
She came up alongside him, poking her own head into the cave. The sensation was strange: suddenly, no more rain pelted down upon her head. Her ears could flicker back and forth without hitting droplets of water. How wonderful!
"Yes, it is." She cast him a smile that glowed with thanks, pleased that her trust in him had not been misplaced.
Bliss. She rolled the name around in her mind, suppressing a sudden bubbling fount of laughter. His name suited him so well!
"My name is Evelyn."

Yes, it truly was a wonderful feeling to not have rain pelting your entire body, lightly or heavily, it was still annoying. Like a constant poke but not just in one part of your body, all of it. This cave didn't do much for the cold, but it felt so good to at least be able to get dry.
When the mare laughed, the stallion looked at her puzzled, wondering if he had done something stupid. It wouldn't surprise him, actually...if he had. Many a'times, he just said or did something that he had no idea would be funny to someone else and they always ended up laughing.
"Evelyn? Such a pretty name for a pretty mare." Bliss nodded, seriously loving the way it sounded. Like his own name, it fit her well. A proper name for a proper lady. "Well then, what should we do?"

"Thank you." She smiled reassuringly, hoping to silently communicate that her laughter was not due to any of his actions... at least, none that would be deemed strange. She did not wish for him to feel any discomfort in her presence.
Evelyn rolled his question over in her mind, pondering the matter with a scholar's single-minded intensity. What could they do, here in this cave?
She shook off a last droplet of trickling rain, her mane falling in tumbles about her neck as it settled back into glistening waves. She stared thoughtfully at him, her lavender eyes glistening in the patchy light.
"We could... study rock formations?" She quirked an eyebrow, doubting that her suggestion would go over well with this particular stallion. "Or..." her gaze drifted to the back of the cave, enclosed in shadow and looking quite ominous. Was there a back to it, or did it extend into the deepest reaches of the land? "... we could explore."

He nodded happily after her polite 'thank you'. It was one thing to compliment a pretty mare, but another for her to actually take it in. Some mares that he said something to either shrugged it off, or agreed. Evelyn just simply thanked him. Such a pleasant surprise.
Purple eyes studdied her as she moved her mane about, and laughter quickly followed. The stallion tried to do the same with his own mane, to mimick her but he just ended up looking like a fool. The braides in his hair tangled up with the straight parts, he'd have to fix that later.
When Evelyn spoke, Bliss just stared. He didn't smile, or laugh...or have any facial expression at all. ...Rock formations? What in the world were rock formations? Of course he knew what a rock was, but it's formation? Was she trying to trick him, or was she being serious? Surely studying something couldn't be that much fun, either.
"I'm going to have to go with your last suggestion." Bliss grinned, turning his body so he was facing the inside of the cave. It was pretty dark, and it seemed like it traveled pretty far, so it would be quite fun to explore. But suddently, he felt a wave of exhaustion cross over him. And then a huge yawn escaped his throat. "...But maybe a nap would suit us better, first? That way, if we get tired later, we won't have to sleep back...there!"
He started to walk around the edge of the cave, looking for a soft spot for Evelyn to rest on, and he walked over to her and nudged her in the direction, laughing as he did so. ((Don't kill me, I tried to work out how they'd end up ya know...without the RP going too far. xD))

(( *mauls* DIE SUMM DIE! >O; ... *shnuggles* >w< I kid, I kid. ))
She restrained a second bout of laughter, though amusement shone in her eyes at his obvious confusion as to the merit of her first suggestion. Some day, she'd run into someone who didn't think that she was crazy whenever she brought up studying a particularly interesting aspect of nature... surely she wasn't the only one who found such things amusing?
One eyebrow arched delicately, her mouth opened slightly as she formulated her response. If they were to take even a light nap, there would be even less light to explore by then there had been before. Surely...
Her eyes widened slightly at his nudge, unexpected as it was. Her mind had been elsewhere, and the sudden physical contact had come as a surprise to her. Even so, it was not exactly... unpleasant...
She walked forwards obediently. She moved slowly, her finely-shaped form swaying lightly like the drooping branches of a willow tree caressed by the valley wind. Her tail flicked lazily, revealing the occasional glimpse of silky inner thighs.
Blissfully ignorant of her appeal, she peeked backwards at him, lavender eyes retaining the amused light of moment before.
Maybe a nap wouldn't be so bad...

((-dead-))
Crazy? No. Haha. Bliss wouldn't ever think a mare was crazy, she was just perhaps a tad brighter than he, therefore she understood more things. Heck, for all he knew, discussing rock formations could just be the most amazing thing for most soquili! (Well, at least for the ones he had never met...) Even if the stallion had no idea what he was doing, he'd find a way to have fun with rock formations with this mare...or any other pretty mare. He learned to put their needs first, mares were always more important than stallions.
The less light in the cave problem that would errupt if they took a nap didn't really phase Bliss when he suggested it, nor did he think of it afterwards. Surely he thought that if they slept, perhaps it would be lighter out! He was always one for sleeping, Milkshake wouldn't have a problem agreeing with that...so it was surely be morning when he woke, no?
After his nudge, he waited for her reaction. He couldn't see her facial expression, and no words escaped her...so was it bad? He instantely frowned, hoping that he hadn't freaked the poor mare out by touching her. But some mares were different, heck...all mares were different from eachother...so maybe this one didn't like contact...
But then she moved. And boy, did she move. He wasn't one to have total sex appeal, nor did he think about that kind of stuff daily, but he gazed at her with an interested expression, examining her body. She really was beautiful...not just a pretty face, but this mare had everything...
"Uh...Evelyn." He stammered, moving towards her in a kind of prancing fashion. He nudged her again, lighter than before and stepped back. This time perhaps he'd watch her expression.

Her neck arched into a serpentine curve as she peered back at him, her ears perked with interest. Her eyes glimmered like rare gemstones, sparkling in the near-darkness of the cave.
She watched his prancing with amusement, wondering what had caused him to behave so.
When the stallion nudged her once more, a glimmer of interest flickered in the soft smile upon her face. "Yes?" Had he decided that he did not want to nap, after all?
